  • parsec-3.1.0 with custom token datatype

    parsec-3.1.0 ( http://hackage.haskell.org/package/parsec-3.1.0 ) works with any token type. However there are combinators like Text.Parsec.Char.satisfy that are only defined for Char datatype. There doesn't seem to be any more general counterpart available. Should I define my own versions or did I miss something? Perhaps there are different parser libraries in Haskell that allows: custom token types custom parser state (I need to parse stateful format - Wavefront OBJ)

  • NSXMLParser Memory Allocation Efficiency for the iPhone

    Hello, I've recently been playing with code for an iPhone app to parse XML. Sticking to Cocoa, I decided to go with the NSXMLParser class. The app will be responsible for parsing 10,000+ "computers", all which contain 6 other strings of information. For my test, I've verified that the XML is around 900k-1MB in size. My data model is to keep each computer in an NSDictionary hashed by a unique identifier. Each computer is also represented by a NSDictionary with the information. So at the end of the day, I end up with a NSDictionary containing 10k other NSDictionaries. The problem I'm running into isn't about leaking memory or efficient data structure storage. When my parser is done, the total amount of allocated objects only does go up by about 1MB. The problem is that while the NSXMLParser is running, my object allocation is jumping up as much as 13MB. I could understand 2 (one for the object I'm creating and one for the raw NSData) plus a little room to work, but 13 seems a bit high. I can't imaging that NSXMLParser is that inefficient. Thoughts?     I am trying to pass back an image through a content provider in a separate app. I have two apps, one with the activity in (app a), the other with content provider (app b) I have app a reading an image off my SD card via app b using the following code. Any ideas? Does it restrict sending resources over the content provider somehow? P.S. I also got an error when I tried to create the file with File path = new File(uri); saying 'there is no applicable constructor to '(android.net.Uri)' though http://developer.android.com/reference/java/io/File.html#File(java.net.URI) Seems to think it's possible...unless java.net.URI is different to android.net.URI, in which case can I convert them?     This is going to sound crazy but does anyone have techniques that would allow me to parse boolean logic strings in Sql Server 2005 without extraordinary/rediculous effort? Here is an example: (SOMEVAR=4 OR SOMEVAR=5) AND (NOT OTHERVAR=Y) I feel like recursion would help a lot if that were possible in Sql but I'm not really sure how to go about that sort of thing. If not, maybe there's a way to attach an external system to do the recursion for me? Don't worry, I'm not getting my hopes up.

  • App starts in 1.5 emulator but doesn't in 1.6

    My app works on 1.5 emulator and 1.5 device. When i try to start it on 1.6 emulator, it produces strange exceptions (doesn't even start). I don't have any 1.6 device to try this app if it works on a real device. I get some warnings in Eclipse ( warning: Ignoring InnerClasses attribute for an anonymous inner class that doesn't come with an associated EnclosingMethod attribute. This class was probably produced by a broken compiler.) and get cant rid of them (i think they come from some apache jars that i need to make http multipart posts). Is it possible that this jars are cause for my exceptions in 1.6 or is it something else? The file looks like this: Fruits Apple Auxiliary Core Extras Banana Something Coconut Vegetables Eggplant Rutabaga You can see that top-level items are indented by one space, and items beneath that are indented by two spaces for each level. The items are also in alphabetical order. How do I turn the file into a Python list that's something like ["Fruits", "Fruits/Apple", "Fruits/Banana", ..., "Vegetables", "Vegetables/Eggplant", "Vegetables/Rutabaga"]?
