• How to include an external jar in gwt client side?

  I would like to use the org.apache.commons.validator.GenericValidator class in a view class of my GWT web app. I have read that I have to implicitely tell that I intend to use this external library. I thought adding the next line into my App.gwt.xml would work. <inherits name='org.apache.commons.validator.GenericValidator'/> I get the next error: Loading inherited module 'org.apache.commons.validator.GenericValidator' [ERROR] Unable to find 'org/apache/commons/validator/GenericValidator.gwt.xml' on your classpath; could be a typo, or maybe you forgot to include a classpath entry for source? • Getting an ASP.MVC2/VS2010 application to work in IIS 7.5

  I've recently downloaded beta 2 of VS2010 and started playing with ASP.NET MVC2. Initial development was done with Casini, but now I wanted to run the application from IIS 7.5 (I'm running Windows 7). I've installed the IIS6 metabase compatiblity and I run VS2010 as administrator so I can use the "Create Virtual Directory" button from the "Web" tab of the project settings. This created the web application entry in IIS, but it doesn't work. When I go to the main page (http://localhost/MyMvcApp/) I get a HTTP 403 error. When I go directly to one of the sub-pages (http://localhost/MyMvcApp/Home/) I get an HTTP 404. So I guess for some reason the URL routing isn't working. I've already added UrlRouting as a module and a handler to the web.config. In my searches this is offered as a solution for some similair problems. But for me this still doesn't work.   I wrote this ISAPI filter to rewrite the URL because we had some sites that moved locations... Basically the filter looks at the referrer, and if it's the local server, it looks at the requested URL and compared it to the full referrer. If the first path is identical, nothing is done, however if not, it takes the first path from the full referrer and prepends it to the URL. For example: /Content/imgs/img.jpg from a referrer of http://myserver/wr/apps/default.htm would be rewritten as /wr/Content/imgs/img.jpg. When I view the log file, everything looks good. I do this by having the fiq_flip_pins function defined in the monolithic kernel and not as a module which gets vmalloc. I installed IIS7 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and added these two application to my default website. I am having a number of problems so im hoping one of you can help out... 1) The silverlight and WCF service applications do not work with pass-through authentication. I need to "connect as" the administrator server account when setting up the application. I read online that you should only need to use the "connect as" field when you are connecting to another computer. If i dont supply the admin credentials i get this error. • PayPal IPN - having trouble accessing session data?

  Hello, all. I'm having issues with PayPal IPN integration where it seems I cannot get my solution to read session variables. Basically, in my shop module script, I store the customer's details as provided by PayPal to an orders table. However, I also wish to save products ordered in a transaction to a separate table linked by the order ID. However, it's the second part of the script that's not working, where I loop through the products in the session and then save them to the orders_products table. Is there a reason why the session data not being read?   After migrating my Drupal (6.16) installation from shared hosting to Linode VPS (Ubunto 10.04 32 bit). Whenever I click a URL it shows only the homepage. I put ?q=user at the end of the URL to login as an admin. When I logged in it is the same. I couldn't navigate to any URL. It shows only homepage. I forgot to clean Drupal cache before migration. Is it because of this? I couldn't navigate to Administer Site configuration Performance to clean cache, nothing works.   As an exercise, and mostly for my own amusement, I'm implementing a backtracking packrat parser. The inspiration for this is i'd like to have a better idea about how hygenic macros would work in an algol-like language (as apposed to the syntax free lisp dialects you normally find them in). Because of this, different passes through the input might see different grammars, so cached parse results are invalid, unless I also store the current version of the grammar along with the cached parse results. (EDIT: a consequence of this use of key-value collections is that they should be immutable, but I don't intend to expose the interface to allow them to be changed, so either mutable or immutable collections are fine) The problem is that python dicts cannot appear as keys to other dicts. • Google Web Toolkit Deferred Binding Issue

  I developed a web app using GWT about 2 years ago, since then the application has evolved. In its current state it relies on fetching a single XML file and parsing the information from it. Overall this works great. A requirement of this app is that it needs to be able to be ran from the filesystem (file:///..) as well as the traditional model of running from a webserver (http://...) Fetching this file from a webserver works exactly as expected using a RequestBuilder object. When running the app from the filesystem Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Chrome all behave as expected. When running the app from the filesystem using IE7 or IE8 the RequestBuilder.send() call fails, the information about the error suggests that there is a problem accessing the file due to violating the same origin policy. The app worked as expected in IE6 but not in IE7 or IE8. So I looked at the source code of RequestBuilder.java and saw that the actual request was being executed with an XMLHttpRequest GWT object. So I looked at the source code for XMLHttpRequest.java and found out some information. I read up a little bit more on the IE implementation of XMLHttpRequest, and it appears that it is only supported for interacting with files on a webserver. I found a setting in IE8 (Tools-Internet Options-Advanced-Security-Enable native XMLHTTP support), when I uncheck this box my app works. I assume this is because I am more of less telling IE to not use their implementation of XmlHttpRequest, so GWT just uses an ActiveXObject because it doesn't think the native XmlHttpRequest is available. This fixes the problem, but is hardly a long term solution. I can currently catch a failed send request and verify that it was trying to fetch the XML file from the filesystem using normal GWT. What I would like to do in this case is catch the IE7 and IE8 case and have them use a ActiveXObject instead of a native XmlHttpRequest object. There was a posting on the GWT google group that had a supposed solution for this problem (link). Looking at it I can tell that it was created for an older version of GWT. I am using the latest release and think that this is more or less what I would like to do (use GWT deferred binding to detect a specific browser type and run my own implementation of XMLHttpRequest.java in place of the built in GWT implementation). Is the logic/design sound? Anyhow, to the specifics: The Employees object has a method, clean_all_phone_numbers(), which calls clean_phone_number() on each Employee object inside it. Is this bad design? If so, why? Also, is the way I'm calling lookup_all_supervisors() bad? Originally, I wrapped the clean_phone_number() and lookup_supervisor() method in a single function, with a single for-loop inside it. clean_phone_number is O(n), I believe, lookup_supervisor is O(n^2) - is it ok splitting it into two loops like this? In clean_all_phone_numbers(), I'm looping on the Employee objects, and settings their values using return/assignment - should I be setting this inside clean_phone_number() itself? There's also a few things that I'm sorted of hacked out, not sure if they're bad practice - e.g. print_employee() and gd_formatted() both use __dict__, and the constructor for Employee uses setattr() to convert a dictionary into instance attributes. I'd value any thoughts at all. If you think the questions are too broad, let me know and I can repost as several split up (I just didn't want to pollute the boards with multiple similar questions, and the three questions are more or less fairly tightly related).   I have a custom php page that processes a feed of images and makes albums out of it. However whenever i add pictures to my feed, the Drupal page doesn't change until I clear the caches.
