• My Delphi 7 application halts on Application.Initialize and does not return to next line

  I have created an application on Delphi 7. my app had running fine since yesterday. I don't know what's happened yesterday which cause my application halts on Application.Initialize line in source code and does not return to next line when i trace the program. I can't run the created executable file from widows niether while the generated file does run on another machine correctly. here is the code where the compiler stops on it: program Info_Kiosk; uses SysUtils, Forms, ... • div block going to next line in Firefox

  I have a div with display:block in my css. This div block uses the align = "absmiddle" . It displays all the elements in 1 line in Chrome. However, in firefox, the elements are displyed on to the next line as well. How do I get them to display in 1 single line in firefox. • How to find and update the next record in a linking table

  I have a classifieds system I'm working on. People are able to add photos to a classified, but I only display one when displaying the list of classifieds. To do that, I have a linking table between classifieds and photos that has a "is_main" boolean field. When someone deletes one of their classified photos, I want to: 1) See if there is more than that photo tied to the classified. 2) If there is, update the next photo and set that "is_main" field to TRUE. Just trying to find out the most efficient way to do this.

  I am working on a CellTable with a SimplePager. My paging works fine in the sense when i set the page size to be 5 only 5 records are being displayed. My question is that do next and previous buttons come by default or do we have to configure them. • Best way to load application settings

  A simple way to keep the settings of a Java application is represented by a text file with ".properties" extension containing the identifier of each setting associated with a specific value (this value may be a number, string, date, etc..). C# uses a similar approach, but the text file must be named "App.config". In both cases, in source code you must initialize a specific class for reading settings: this class has a method that returns the value (as string) associated with the specified setting identifier. // Java example Properties config = new Properties(); config.load(...); String valueStr = config.getProperty("listening-port"); // ... // C# example NameValueCollection setting = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings; string valueStr = setting["listening-port"]; // ... In both cases we should parse strings loaded from the configuration file and assign the ??converted values to the related typed objects (parsing errors could occur during this phase). After the parsing step, we must check that the setting values ??belong to a specific domain of validity: for example, the maximum size of a queue should be a positive value, some values ??may be related (example: min < max), and so on. Suppose that the application should load the settings as soon as it starts: in other words, the first operation performed by the application is to load the settings. Any invalid values for the settings ??must be replaced automatically with default values??: if this happens to a group of related settings, those settings are all set with default values. The easiest way to perform these operations is to create a method that first parses all the settings, then checks the loaded values ??and finally sets any default values??. However maintenance is difficult if you use this approach: as the number of settings increases while developing the application, it becomes increasingly difficult to update the code. Extensibility: a first version of the application could read a single configuration file, but later versions may give the possibility of a multi-user setup (admin sets up a basic configuration, users can set only certain settings, etc..). Object oriented design.

• BATCH - wait for executable to finish before starting next result

  I'm pretty much a noob at this, so any help is appreciated. I'm trying to run the video transcoding executable REDline on all .R3D files in a given folder. REDline only accepts single files, which is the issue. I finally got it to search recursively for the files I need, but my problem is the search function passes the next result to REDline before the first one is finished transcoding. I have the search results that need to run in a variable inside REDline. Here's the code: for /r D:\folder\ %%a in (*) do ( "C:/Program Files/REDCINE-X PRO 64-bit/REDLine.exe" --exportPreset "Prores_Intermediate" --i "%%~dpnxa" --useRSX 2 --masterRMDFolder "" -s 0 -e 95 ) After about .7 seconds, REDline reports 'received stop message from client'.   To represent our course tree structure in our Linq Dataclasses we have 2 columns that could potentially be the same as the PK. My problem is that if I want to Insert a new record and populate 2 other columns with the PK that was generated there is no way I can get the next identity and stop conflict with other administrators who might be doing the same insert at the same time. • Why are all the tabs except MBeans disabled in JConsole?

  I'm trying to connect to JConsole on a server running: java version "1.6.0_0" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.4.1) (6b14-1.4.1-0ubuntu12) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.0-b08, mixed mode) from my local machine, running: java version "1.6.0_24" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_24-b07-334-10M3326) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.1-b02-334, mixed mode) When I connect to jconsole on the server, all the tabs except the MBeans tab are disabled. If I run the same application on my local machine, and use jconsole to connect to it there (using the remote interface still), all the tabs are enabled just fine. Everything I have seen only suggested the possibility that the server was 1.4 or earlier.

I have eclipse extracted to my C: Drive and Java installed in ProgramFiles(x86) When I go to start eclipse I get the error:Failed to load the JNI shared Library"C:Program Files(x86)\Java\jre6\bin\jvm.dll" I looked and the file is not there. I am setting something up wrong?Just did a fresh install of Java before trying to run eclipse.

• Adding a jar file to CLASSPATH is still not executable

  Perhaps I just don't understand how the whole CLASSPATH environment variable works when trying to find .jar files on your system. I thought if you specified it, you could launch .jar files with java in much the same way that you can launch executables that are on your path. I have an executable java archive (.jar file) on my system, that I stuck in /usr/local/bin/gatk/. I added this to my CLASSPATH via: export CLASSPATH=/usr/local/bin/gatk/GenomeAnalysisTK.jar I thought this would make the .jar file visible to my JVM. When I try to invoke it with java -jar GenomeAnalysisTK.jar #Error: Unable to access jarfile .gatk/GenomeAnalysisTK.jar I can invoke it setting the absolute path, e.g. java -jar /usr/local/bin/gatk/GenomeAnalysisTK.jar, however I'd rather not type the full path each time. I have read many of the linked tutorials but somehow I don't seem to be getting this right and I can't understand what I am doing wrong.

• Stop jucheck from running

  I've installed Java on Windows Vista, and every day I get a Vista security warning asking me if I want to run "jucheck". Apparently this is the Java automatic updater. Well, I don't want it to run on its own, ever. I cancel it, and quit it. I right-click on the taskbar and unclick "Check for Updates Automatically", and then click "Never Check", and "Apply". And yet, it never remembers this setting. If I come back to the "Java Control Panel" right after clicking "OK", the very same box is checked again, all on its own. Is there some way to kill jucheck once and for all? If I simply delete jucheck.exe, will Java (other than the automatic check) still work, and will manual updates still work, and will it stop even trying to update every morning?

• How to make an x.509 certificate from a PEM one?

  I'm trying to test a script, locally, which involves uploading a file using a Java-based program to a FileZilla FTPES server. For the real thing, there is a real certificate on the FZ server, and the upload step (tested alone) seems to work fine. I've installed FileZilla Server on my dev box (so it'll test uploading from localhost to localhost). I don't have a real certificate for it, of course, so I used the "Generate new certificate..." button in FZ. It works fine from an interactive FTPES program (as long as I OK the unknown cert), but from my Java program it throws a javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException ("unable to find valid certification path to requested target"). So how do I tell Java that this certificate is OK with me? (I know there's a way to change the Java program to accept any certificate, but I don't want to go down that route. I want to test it just as it will happen in production, and I don't want to ignore unknown certificates in production.) I found that Java has a program called "keytool" that seems to be for managing this sort of thing, but it complains that the certificate file that FZ generated is not an "x.509" file. A posting from the FZ side said it was "PEM encoded". I have "openssl" here, which looks like it's perfect for converting between certificate formats, but I think my understanding of certificate formats is wrong because I'm not seeing anything obvious. My knowledge of security certificates is a bit shaky, so if my title is stupidly wrong, please help by fixing that. :-)
