    I have strange discarding behavior of struts2 while setting cache option for my image.   • winUserControl in VS2010 - properties are not visible in designer

    I have a problem with (I suppose) my Visual Studio 2010 Express environment: when I design my own UserControl, in Properties grid I can't see public properties of that control. They are however visible in the project, that reference this control. As it's Express Edition, I create new empty project, then add new UserControl to it. Then, for a test, I put following code: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.ComponentModel; using System.Drawing; using System.Data; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Windows.Forms; namespace Project1 { public partial class UserControl1 : UserControl { private int myNumber; [Browsable(true)] public int MyNumber { get { return myNumber; } set { myNumber = value; } } public UserControl1() { InitializeComponent(); } } } In VS 2008, as I remember, that should be enogh to show MyNumber property in Properties grid, even without [Browsable(true)] attribute. In VS 2010 however, when I double click UserControl1.cs in Solution Explorer and look in Properties, I don't see MyNumber. When I reference and use this control in another project, there is an access to it's properties. I've tried to competly reinstall VS 2010 environment, including SP1, but with no success. Do you have any idea what can be wrong? By the way: none of these attributes are working, either: [Browsable(true)] [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Always)] [DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Content)] [Bindable(true)] Best regards, Marcin

    Hi, everyone, I've started working yesterday on the Euler Project in Clojure and I have a problem with one of my solutions I cannot figure out. I have this function: (defn find-max-palindrom-in-range [beg end] (reduce max (loop [n beg result []] (if (>= n end) result (recur (inc n) (concat result (filter #(is-palindrom? %) (map #(* n %) (range beg end))))))))) I try to run it like this: (find-max-palindrom-in-range 100 1000) and I get this exception: java.lang.Integer cannot be cast to clojure.lang.IFn [Thrown class java.lang.ClassCastException] which I presume means that at some place I'm trying to evaluate an Integer as a function. I however cannot find this place and what puzzles me more is that everything works if I simply evaluate it like this: (reduce max (loop [n 100 result []] (if (>= n 1000) result (recur (inc n) (concat result (filter #(is-palindrom? %) (map #(* n %) (range 100 1000)))))))) (I've just stripped down the function definition and replaced the parameters with constants) Thanks in advance for your help and sorry that I probably bother you with idiotic mistake on my part. Btw I'm using Clojure 1.1 and the newest SLIME from ELPA.

  • Sizing issues while adding a .Net UserControl to a TabPage

    I have a complex Windows Forms GUI program that has a lot of automated control generation and manipulation. One thing that I need to be able to do is add a custom UserControl to a newly instatiated TabPage. However, when my code does this I get automatic resizing events that cause the formatting to get ugly. Without detailing all of the different Containers that could possibly be involved, the basic issue is this: At a certain point in the code I create a new tab page: TabPage tempTabPage = new TabPage("A New Tab Page"); Then I set it to a certain size that I want it to maintain: tempTabPage.Width = 1008; tempTabPage.Height = 621; Then I add it to a TabControl: tabControl.TabPages.Add(tempTabPage); Then I create a user control that I want to appear in the newly added TabPage: CustomView customView = new CustomView("A new custom control"); Here is where the problem comes in. At this point both the tempTabPage and the customView are the same size with no padding or margin and they are the size I want them to be. I now try to add this new custom UserControl to the tab page like this: tempTabPage.Controls.Add(customView); When making this call the customView and it's children controls get resized to be larger and so parts of the customView are hidden. Can anyone give me any direction on what to look for or what could be causing this kind of issue? Thanks ahead of time.

  • How to display a busy message over a wpf screen

    Hey, I have a WPF application based on Prism4. When performing slow operations, I want to show a busy screen. I will have a large number of screens, so I'm trying to build a single solution into the framework rather than adding the busy indicator to each screen. These long running operations run in a background thread. This allows the UI to be updated (good) but does not stop the user from using the UI (bad). What I'd like to do is overlay a control with a spinning dial sort of thing and have that control cover the entire screen (the old HTML trick with DIVs). When the app is busy, the control would display thus block any further interaction as well as showing the spinny thing. To set this up, I thought I could just have my app screen in a canvas along with the spinny thing (with a greater ZIndex) then just make the spinny thing visible as required. This, however, is getting hard. Canvases do not seem well set up for this and I think I might be barking up the wrong tree. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

  • Strange problem when converting RGB to HSV

    Hi, I made a small RGB to HSV converter algorithm with C. It seems to work pretty well, but there is one strange problem: If I first convert i.e. a 800x600 picture into HSV map and then back to RGB map without doing any changes in the values, I get some pixels that are convertet incorrectly. Then if I try to convert those misbehaving single pixels alone to and back, they're converted correctly. Any idea what could be the problem? I'm using Daniel Karlings PNGLite to open that PNG file.   • How to infer the type of a derived class in base class?

    I want to create a method that allows me to change arbitrary properties of classes that derive from my base class, the result should look like this: SetPropertyValue("size.height", 50); – where size is a property of my derived class and height is a property of size. I'm almost done with my implementation but there's one final obstacle that I want to solve before moving on, to describe this I will first have to explain my implementation a bit: Properties that can be modified are decorated with an attribute There's a method in my base class that searches for all derived classes and their decorated properties For each property I generate a "property modifier", a class that contains 2 delegates: one to set and one to get the value of the property. Property Modifiers are stored in a dictionary, with the name of the property as key In my base class, there is another dictionary that contains all property-modifier-dictionaries, with the Type of the respective class as key. What the SetPropertyValue method does is this: Get the correct property-modifier-dictionary, using the concrete type of the derived class (<- yet to solve) Get the property modifier of the property to change (e.g. of the property size) Use the get or set delegate to modify the property's value Some example code to clarify further: private static Dictionary<RuntimeTypeHandle, object> EditableTypes; //property-modifier-dictionary protected void SetPropertyValue<T>(EditablePropertyMap<T> map, string property, object value) { var property = map[property]; // get the property modifier property.Set((T)this, value); // use the set delegate (encapsulated in a method) } In the above code, T is the Type of the actual (derived) class. I need this type for the get/set delegates. The problem is how to get the EditablePropertyMap<T> when I don't know what T is. My current (ugly) solution is to pass the map in an overriden virtual method in the derived class: public override void SetPropertyValue(string property, object value) { base.SetPropertyValue((EditablePropertyMap<ExampleType>)EditableTypes[typeof(ExampleType)], property, value); } What this does is: get the correct dictionary containing the property modifiers of this class using the class's type, cast it to the appropiate type and pass it to the SetPropertyValue method. I want to get rid of the SetPropertyValue method in my derived class (since there are a lot of derived classes), but don't know yet how to accomplish that. I cannot just make a virtual GetEditablePropertyMap<T> method because I cannot infer a concrete type for T then. I also cannot acces my dictionary directly with a type and retrieve an EditablePropertyMap<T> from it because I cannot cast to it from object in the base class, since again I do not know T. I found some neat tricks to infere types (e.g. by adding a dummy T parameter), but cannot apply them to my specific problem. I'd highly appreciate any suggestions you may have for me.

  • How to calculate the normal of points on a 3D cubic Bézier curve given normals for its start and end points?

    I'm trying to render a "3D ribbon" using a single 3D cubic Bézier curve to describe it (the width of the ribbon is some constant). The first and last control points have a normal vector associated with them (which are always perpendicular to the tangents at those points, and describe the surface normal of the ribbon at those points), and I'm trying to smoothly interpolate the normal vector over the course of the curve. For example, given a curve which forms the letter 'C', with the first and last control points both having surface normals pointing upwards, the ribbon should start flat, parallel to the ground, slowly turn, and then end flat again, facing the same way as the first control point. To do this "smoothly", it would have to face outwards half-way through the curve. At the moment (for this case), I've only been able to get all the surfaces facing upwards (and not outwards in the middle), which creates an ugly transition in the middle. It's quite hard to explain, I've attached some images below of this example with what it currently looks like (all surfaces facing upwards, sharp flip in the middle) and what it should look like (smooth transition, surfaces slowly rotate round). Silver faces represent the front, black faces the back. Incorrect, what it currently looks like: Correct, what it should look like: All I really need is to be able to calculate this "hybrid normal vector" for any point on the 3D cubic bézier curve, and I can generate the polygons no problem, but I can't work out how to get them to smoothly rotate round as depicted. Completely stuck as to how to proceed!

  • How can I clear viewstate of a dropdownlist inside a usercontrol? Should I?

    I have a web user control with a dropdownlist inside of it. When the usercontrol's databind event is called, it automatically fires the dropdownlists databind event. In the dropdownlist's ondatabound event handler an 'other' option is appended to the end of the dropdownlist. The usercontrol is loaded multiple times, depending on selection of other controls on the page. When the page loads initially, there are no items in the usercontrol except the 'other' option. Then when I call the user control's databind event the control reloads, with 4 items plus the 'other' option. The text for the first item in the list is the 'other' option's text, not what it should be. I've stepped through the databound event of the dropdownlist and have found that all items are loading correctly. It appears that the dropdownlist's viewstate is the culprit, that the dropdownlist's original item[1] text is overwriting the new text. I've tried disabling viewstate on the dropdownlist, but then it wouldn't load at all. Should I try to clear the dropdownlist's viewstate? How do I do that? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    I've got addresses I need to clean up for matching purposes. Part of the process is trimming unwanted suffices from housenumbers, e.g: mainstreet 4a --> mainstreet 4. However I don't want: 618 5th Ave SW --> 618 5 Ave SW in other words there are some strings (for now: st, nd, rd, th) which I don't want to strip. What would be the best method of doing this (regex or otherwise) ? a wokring regex without the exceptions would be: a = a.replaceAll("(^| )([0-9]+)[a-z]+($| )","$1$2$3"); //replace 1a --> 1 I thought about first searching and substiting the special cases with special characters while keeping the references in a map, then do the above regex, and then doing the reverse substitute using the reference map, but I'm looking for a simpler solution.     Hi, Let's say I have the following file tree: / include/ library/ a.hpp b.hpp src/ a.cpp b.cpp And the following /src/a.cpp file: #include "a.hpp" #include "b.hpp" I always open Vim at the root directory. So when I want to load a.hpp I do : :tabnew include/library/a.hpp or: :tabnew **/a.hpp I'd like to map <F4> to open the file under the cursor in a new tab, using a recursive search. I tried the following mapping command: :map <F4> :tabnew **/expand("<cfile>")<cr> But obviously, this can't work, as it tries to open the file "/expand(" instead. Any clue on how I could do that ?     I'm currently working on the UI of a Silverlight application and need to be able to change the visual state of a control to one of two possible states based on it's current state when handling the same event trigger. For example: I have a control that sits partially in a clipping path, when I click the visible part of the control I want to change the state to "visible" and if I click it again when it is in its "visible" state I want to change to the "hidden" state. Example XAML: <i:Interaction.Triggers> <i:EventTrigger EventName="MouseLeftButtonUp"> <ic:GoToStateAction StateName="Visible"/> <ic:GoToStateAction StateName="Hidden"/> </i:EventTrigger> </i:Interaction.Triggers> Where "i" is "System.Windows.Interactivity;assembly=System.Windows.Interactivity" and "ic" is "Microsoft.Expression.Interactivity.Core;assembly=Microsoft.Expression.Interactions". I'm currently working in Expression Blend 3 and would prefer to have a XAML only solution but am not opposed to coding this if it is completely necessary. I have tried recording a change in the target state name in Blend but this did not work. Any thoughts on this?

    I've written the following code to illustrate the problem I'm seeing. I'm trying to use a Process.Manager.list() to keep track of a list and increment random indices of that list. Each time there are 100 processes spawned, and each process increments a random index of the list by 1. Therefore, one would expect the SUM of the resulting list to be the same each time, correct?   • Setting up path mapping in PHP and Eclipse

    I have just setup my website locally so I can test my pages more easily. Eclipse has been configured to use an XAMPP server locally. The problem is that I want to map my project to a certain place in my website. ie. In my Eclipse PHP project I have a folder called com I want this to map to /com in the webstie. I tried to do this in the mapping section of the Eclipse server setup but it didn't work. When I type http://localhost/com/ It should go to my project folder, however, when I type other folder it should use the normal website folders. how can I do this?

  • Silverlight ClientAccessPolicy issue...I think

    Fisrt of all I have my ClientAccessPolicy.xml file in the root of my website. If I access my website using the public domain name like this: h t t p://www.mydomain.com and then go to the page where my SL control is, I get the spinning % numbers up until about 98%, then it quits and my SL control does not appear on the page. If I access my website using the machine name (website is at datacenter, we have vpn setup) like this: h t t p://machinename and then go to the page where my SL control is everything works fine. this must be a ClientAccess Policy issue don't your think? Or what DO you thnik the issue is? Thanks in advance.   • Haskell - mapping the odd placed values and the even placed values differently

    Hey guys, is there an easy way. To take a list of numbers, say 123456. Then multiply the odd placed by three and the even placed by 1. i.e. (1 * 3) + (2 * 1) + (3 * 3) + (4*1) + (5*3) + (6*1) i was thinking the map function somewhere along the lines. But i don't know how to map *3 to just the odd placed values.   • How to find out where a thread lock happend?

    One of our company's Windows Forms application had a strange problem for several month. The app worked very reliable for most of our customers but on some PC's (mostly with a wireless lan connection) the app sometimes just didn't respond anymore. (You click on the UI and windows ask you to wait or kill the app). I wasn't able to track down the problem for a long time but now I figured out what happend. The app had this line of code // don't blame me for this. Wasn't my code :D Control.CheckForIllegalCrossThreadCalls = false and used some background threads to modify the controls. No I found a way to reproduce the application stopping responding bug on my dev machine and tracked it down to a line where I actually used Invoke() to run a task in the main thread. Me.Invoke(MyDelegate, arg1, arg2) Obviously there was a thread lock somewhere. After removing the Control.CheckForIllegalCrossThreadCalls = false statement and refactoring the whole programm to use Invoke() if modifying a control from a background thread, the problem is (hopefully) gone. However, I am wondering if there is a way to find such bugs without debugging every line of code (Even if I break into debugger after the app stops responding I can't tell what happend last, because the IDE didn't jump to the Invoke() statement) In other words: If my apps hangs how can I figure out which line of code has been executed last? Maybe even on the customers PC. I know VS2010 offers some backwards debugging feature, maybe that would be a solution, but currently I am using VS2008.

    It seems to me that I should be able to do the following to detect a click event on a line on a google map: var line = new GPolyline( ... ); map.addOverlay(line); GEvent.addListener(line, "click", function(latlng){ alert("clicked"); }); The api reference says this is available in version 2.88, which was released in 2007(!?), so I'm assuming that's what I'm using, but I don't know how to confirm that. I also tried setting the {clickable:true} option explicitly (it's supposed to be the default.) I've tested in FireFox 3 and Opera 9.6 so doubt it's browser specific. I'm also using jQuery on the page. I have plenty of code detecting clicks on markers that works fine, clicking on lines would be really nice, can anyone enlighten me?

  • Location accuracy of Google Analytics for Android

    When testing Google Analytics (version 2) for an Android project, I noticed that the Real Time map shows my location to be about 200 miles from my actual location. I'm running my project on a physical device, which leads me to believe that Google Analytics doesn't actually send any location information, but rather gets it from the phones IP address when the data is sent to Googles server. Is there any way to alter this behavior and provide my own location data using getLastKnownLocation() for example? Sending it as an actual Label/Action string would of course work, but that means I can't use Google Analytics fancy map feature to view where my users are coming from.

  • Matching a rotated bitmap to a collage image

    Hi, My problem is that I have an image of a detailed street map. On this map, there can be a certain small image of a sign (such as a traffic light icon) rotated at any angle, maybe resized. I have this small image in a bitmap. Is there any algorithm or technique by which I can locate this bitmap if a copy of it exists, rotated and maybe resized, in the large collage image? This is similar to the problem with Augmented Reality and locating the marker image, but mine is only 2D with no perspective distortion.
