  • Code Sign error after renewing my certificate

    Hello, my certificate has just expired. I renewed it on Team section, then renew provisioning profile, and reinstall them on my keychain and xcode, and then I get this error : Code Sign error: The identity 'iPhone Developer' doesn't match any valid certificate/private key pair in the login keychain What should I do ?   • vSphere - datastore falling off a host

    Recently we have been running the vCheck powershell script daily in order to help in monitoring our vSphere ESX 4.0 environment. One of the oddities that we have been seeing is that some of the datastores on the SAN don't always show up on every host. Our hosts are connected redundantly, via FC, to some brocade FC switches, which then connect via fiber to our EMC Ax4 SAN. While all the datastores are presented to each host we have, and they see them initially, they sometimes seem to fall off and are no longer visible. It easy enough to rescan for datastores and add them back to the hosts the hosts but this seems to be an error. Has anyone else seen this or know why it may be happening? Responses to questions: 1. Is it always the same ESX servers that lose their connection? – Scott Warren No this happens randomly on random hosts. If a VM is running on a particular host, of which the VM's disks are on a SAN datastore, then that datastore won't disappear. It seems to happen if a host doesn't touch a datastore for a bit and it just forgets about it.

    I am trying to determine the version of the .NET framework that a dll is using. I have targeted 3.5 in my app but when I open the dll with ildasm.exe (on my dev PC with 3.5 installed), it says it is using "Metadata version: v2.0.50727" which is it really using?

  • Working with friends. Poor career choice?

    Hi all, Hope you can help me solve somewhat of a moral dilemma. Some time ago, after just a few years of living in U.S. and having to take any job I could get my hands on a friend of mine submitted recommended me for an open position at the company that he was working for. I could have not been happier. I do not have a degree of any sort, however, by being passionate about CS and with constant drive for self education I've became a somewhat of a strong generalist. Every place I worked for recognized me for that quality and used me on various projects where set of technology in hand had no overlap with set of knowledge of the team members. Rapidly I've advanced to Sr. Programmer position and the trend of me following a friend from one place to another have started and continued on for a few years. My friend's goal always been to become an IT Director, mine is to become the best programmer I can be. To my knowledge I've accommodated his goals as much as I could by taking a back seat, and letting him take the lead. Fast forward to today. He's a manager, and I am on his team. I am unhappy and I in considerable amount of suffering. I am not being utilized to my potential, it's almost exact opposite, I am being micromanaged to an unhealthy extent, my decisions, and suggestions are constantly met with negative connotation. Last week I had to hear about how my friend is a better programmer than I am. My ego was ecstatic about this one /s. In addition to that working in the field of BI have exhausted itself for most parts. The only pleasure of my work is being derived from making everything as dynamic and parameter driven as possible. This is the only area where a friend of mine does not feel competent enough to actually micromanage. Because of my situation I feel a fair amount of guilt and ever growing resentment. I need your advice, maybe you've dealt with this expression of ego before, needs of self vs the needs of your friend. Is working with a friend a poor choice? Thank you for reading in.

    Hi, sometimes after logging out and in again, my settings in Tools/Options/Projects and Solutions/VC++ Directories are lost. To investigate the problem I tried to find the file where Visual Studio (2008 Team) stores those settings on disk. (Or is it in the registry?) Can anybody point me to where it is? Thanks a lot!

    Today I run this select 'exec sp_refreshview N''['+table_schema+'].['+table_name+']''' from information_schema.tables where table_type = 'view' This generates a lot of: exec sp_refreshview N'[SCHEMA].[TABLE]'. I then copy the result to the query editor window and run all those execs. How do I do this all at once?     When im inserting to the database on my dev server the text goes in fine, for example "that's" is "that's" in the db. when uploading the exact same code to production server (hosted on a reseller account at bluehost) "that's" becomes "that\'s", im not double escaping, its exactly the same code, what could be the issue here?

  • Is it bad practice to use an enum that maps to some seed data in a Database?

    I have a table in my database called "OrderItemType" which has about 5 records for the different OrderItemTypes in my system. Each OrderItem contains an OrderItemType, and this gives me referential integrity. In my middletier code, I also have an enum which matches the values in this table so that I can have business logic for the different types. My dev manager says he hates it when people do this, and I am not exactly sure why. Is there a better practice I should be following?

  • Show a DB as a directory (Like Sharepoint Does)

    Hi, My team and I are programming a sort of Document Manager and the idea is to store them completely on DB. Is there a protocol or Extensions that allows us to show a "Virtual Directory" or files that are really non existent (only in DB). How does Sharepoint do this? I understand that Sharepoint uses WebDav but it implies that the files do exist physically somewhere. We intend to develop this application on .NET 4.0 and deploy it on IIS. Any suggestions?     Is there an easy way to setup an environment on one machine (or a VM) with MySQL replication? I would like to put together a proof of concept of MySQL replication with one Master write instance and two slave instances for reads. I can see doing it across 2 or 3 VMs running on my computer, but that would really bog down my system. I'd rather have everything running on the same VM.
