  • How can i zip files in Java and not include files paths

    - by Ignacio
    For example, i want to zip a file stored in /Users/me/Desktop/image.jpg I maded this method: public static Boolean generateZipFile(ArrayList<String> sourcesFilenames, String destinationDir, String zipFilename){ // Create a buffer for reading the files byte[] buf = new byte[1024]; try { // VER SI HAY QUE CREAR EL ROOT PATH boolean result = (new File(destinationDir)).mkdirs(); String zipFullFilename = destinationDir + "/" + zipFilename ; System.out.println(result); // Create the ZIP file ZipOutputStream out = new ZipOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(zipFullFilename)); // Compress the files for (String filename: sourcesFilenames) { FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream(filename); // Add ZIP entry to output stream. out.putNextEntry(new ZipEntry(filename)); // Transfer bytes from the file to the ZIP file int len; while ((len = in.read(buf)) > 0) { out.write(buf, 0, len); } // Complete the entry out.closeEntry(); in.close(); } // Complete the ZIP file out.close(); return true; } catch (IOException e) { return false; } } But when i extract the file, the unzipped files have the full path. I don't want the full path of each file in the zip i only want the filename. How can i made this?

  • ArrayList access

    - by Ricky McQuesten
    So once again I have a question about this program. I want to store transactions that are made in an arraylist and then have an option in the case menu where I can print out those that are stored. I have been researching online and have been unable to find a solution to this, so is this possible and how would I go about doing this? I also want to attach a timestamp to each transaction as well. Here is the code I have so far. So my question is how would I add a timestamp to each withdrawal or deposit, and how would I store each transaction in array list? import java.util.*; public class BankAccount extends Money { //inheritence static String name; public static int acctNum; public static double balance, amount; BankAccount(String name, int accNo, double bal) { this.name = name; this.acctNum = accNo; this.balance = bal; } void display() { System.out.println("Your Name:" + name); System.out.println("Your Account Number:" + acctNum); System.out.println("Your Current Account Balance:" + Money.getBalance()); } void displayBalance() { System.out.println("Balance:" + balance); } } import java.util.Scanner; /** * * @author Ricky */ public class Money { public static int accountNumber; public static double balance; static double amount; static String name; public void setDeposit(double amount) { balance = balance + amount; if (amount < 0) { System.out.println("Invalid"); } } public double getDeposit() { return 1; } public void setBalance(double b) { balance = b; } public static double getBalance() { return balance; } public void setWithdraw(double amount) { if (balance < amount) { System.out.println("Not enough funds."); } else if(amount < 0) { System.out.println("Invalid"); } else { balance = balance - amount; } } public double getWithdraw() { return 1; } } import java.util.*; public class Client { public static void main(String args[]) { int n = 0; int count; String trans; ArrayList<String> transaction= new ArrayList<String>(n); Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.println("Welcome to First National Bank"); System.out.println("Please enter your name: "); String cusName = input.nextLine(); System.out.println("You will now be assigned an account number."); Random randomGenerator = new Random(); int accNo = randomGenerator.nextInt(100000); //random number System.out.println("Your account number is: " + accNo); System.out.println("Please enter your initial account balance: "); Double balance = input.nextDouble(); BankAccount b1 = new BankAccount(cusName, accNo, balance); b1.setBalance(balance); int menu; /*System.out.println("Menu"); System.out.println("1. • Using java.util.regex in Android apps - are there issues with this?

    - by johnrock
    In an Android app I have a utility class that I use to parse strings for 2 regEx's. I compile the 2 patterns in a static initializer so they only get compiled once, then activities can use the parsing methods statically. This works fine except that the first time the class is accessed and loaded, and the static initializer compiles the pattern, the UI hangs for close to a MINUTE while it compiles the pattern! After the first time, it flies on all subsequent calls to parseString(). My regEx that I am using is rather large - 847 characters, but in a normal java webapp this is lightning fast. I am testing this so far only in the emulator with a 1.5 AVD. Could this just be an emulator issue or is there some other reason that this pattern is taking so long to compile? private static final String exp1 = "(insertratherlong---847character--regexhere)"; private static Pattern regex1 = null; private static final String newLineAndTagsExp = "[<>\\s]"; private static Pattern regexNewLineAndTags = null; static { regex1 = Pattern.compile(exp1, Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE); regexNewLineAndTags = Pattern.compile(newLineAndTagsExp); } public static String parseString(CharSequence inputStr) { String replacementStr = "replaceMentText"; String resultString = "none"; try { Matcher regexMatcher = regex1.matcher(inputStr); try { resultString = regexMatcher.replaceAll(replacementStr); } catch (IllegalArgumentException ex) { } catch (IndexOutOfBoundsException ex) { } } catch (PatternSyntaxException ex) { } return resultString; }

  • In a DDD approach, is this example modelled correctly?

    - by Tag
    Just created an acc on SO to ask this :) Assuming this simplified example: building a web application to manage projects... The application has the following requirements/rules. 1) Users should be able to create projects inserting the project name. 2) Project names cannot be empty. 3) Two projects can't have the same name. I'm using a 4-layered architecture (User Interface, Application, Domain, Infrastructure). On my Application Layer i have the following ProjectService.cs class: public class ProjectService { private IProjectRepository ProjectRepo { get; set; } public ProjectService(IProjectRepository projectRepo) { ProjectRepo = projectRepo; } public void CreateNewProject(string name) { IList<Project> projects = ProjectRepo.GetProjectsByName(name); if (projects.Count > 0) throw new Exception("Project name already exists."); Project project = new Project(name); ProjectRepo.InsertProject(project); } } On my Domain Layer, i have the Project.cs class and the IProjectRepository.cs interface: public class Project { public int ProjectID { get; private set; } public string Name { get; private set; } public Project(string name) { ValidateName(name); Name = name; } private void ValidateName(string name) { if (name == null || name.Equals(string.Empty)) { throw new Exception("Project name cannot be empty or null."); } } } public interface IProjectRepository { void InsertProject(Project project); IList<Project> GetProjectsByName(string projectName); } On my Infrastructure layer, i have the implementation of IProjectRepository which does the actual querying (the code is irrelevant). I don't like two things about this design: 1) I've read that the repository interfaces should be a part of the domain but the implementations should not. That makes no sense to me since i think the domain shouldn't call the repository methods (persistence ignorance), that should be a responsability of the services in the application layer. (Something tells me i'm terribly wrong.) 2) The process of creating a new project involves two validations (not null and not duplicate). In my design above, those two validations are scattered in two different places making it harder (imho) to see whats going on. So, my question is, from a DDD perspective, is this modelled correctly or would you do it in a different way?

  • Java Iterators - Trying to get a for each loop to work

    - by CS Student
    So I have a Tree<E> class where E is the datatype held and organized by the tree. I'd like to iterate through the Tree like this, or in a way similar to this: 1. Tree<String> tree=new Tree<String>(); 2. ...add some nodes... 3. for (String s : tree) 4. System.out.println(s); It gives me an error on line 3 though. Incompatible types required: java.lang.String found: java.lang.Object The following works fine and as expected though, performing a proper in-order traversal of the tree and printing each node out as it should: for (TreeIterator<String> i = tree.iterator(); i.hasNext(); ) System.out.println(i.next()); Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Do you need to see more of the code?

  • Axis webservice calls fail sometimes, access.log shows content!

    - by epischel
    Hi, our app is a webservice client (axis 1) to a third party webservice (also axis 1). We use it for some years now. Since a few weeks, we (as a client) get sometimes HTTP status 400 (bad request) or read timeouts when calling the webservice. Strangely, the access.log of the service shows part of the request or the response instead of the URL. It looks like this (looks like the end of the request string) x.x.x.x -> y.y.y.y:8080 - - [timestamp] "POST /webservice HTTP/1.0" 200 16127 0 x.x.x.x -> y.y.y.y:8080 - - [timestamp] "POST /webservice HTTP/1.0" 200 22511 1 x.x.x.x -> y.y.y.y:8080 - - [timestamp] "il=\"true\"/><nsl:text xsi:type=\"xsd:string\" xsi:nil=\"true\"/></SOAPSomeOperation></soapenv:Body></soapenv:Envelope> Axis/1.4" 400 299 0 or (some string out of the what looks like the request) x.x.x.x -> y.y.y.y:8080 - - [timestamp] ":string\">some text</sometag><othertag>moretext" 400 299 0 or in some other cases it looks like two requests thrown together (... means xml string left out): x.x.x.x -> y.y.y.y:8080 - - [timestamp] "...</someop></soapenv:Body></soapenv:Envelope>:xsd=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema\"...</soapenv:Body></soapenv:Envelope>" 400 299 0 Application log does not give any hints. Frequency of such call is 1% of all calls to that service. The only discriminator I know of so far is that it happens since operations informed us that the service url changed because of "server migration". Has anyone experienced such phenomenon yet? Has somebody got an idea whats wrong and how to fix? Thanks,

  • JSF 2 f:ajax lifecycle problem

    - by gerry
    The problem is, that if a property is changed during an f:ajax request and a binded panelGroup should be newly created depending on that changed value, the old value is used. This code will explain the problem. Here is the backingbean TestBean: public String getFirst() { return first; } public void setFirst(String first) { this.first = first; } public String getLast() { return last; } public void setLast(String last) { this.last = last; } public String getName(){ return first+" "+last; } public void setDynamicPanel(HtmlPanelGroup panel){ } public HtmlPanelGroup getDynamicPanel(){ Application app = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication(); HtmlPanelGroup component = (HtmlPanelGroup)app.createComponent(HtmlPanelGroup.COMPONENT_TYPE); HtmlOutputLabel label1 = (HtmlOutputLabel)app.createComponent(HtmlOutputLabel.COMPONENT_TYPE); label1.setValue(" --> "+getFirst()+" "+getLast()); component.getChildren().add(label1); return component; } and now the jsf/facelet code: <h:form id="form"> <h:panelGrid columns="1"> <h:inputText id="first" value="#{testBean.first}" /> <h:inputText id="last" value="#{testBean.last}" /> <h:commandButton value="Show"> <f:ajax execute="first last" render="name dyn" /> </h:commandButton> </h:panelGrid> <h:outputText id="name" value="#{testBean.name}" /> <h:panelGroup id="dyn" binding="#{testBean.dynamicPanel}" /> </h:form> After the page was initially loaded the outputText and panelGroup shows both "null" as first and last. But after the button is pressed, the outputText is updated well, but the the panelgroup shows again only "null". This is due to the problem, that the "binded method" dynamicPanel is executed before the update of the first and last properties. how can workaround this behaviour or what is wrong with my code?

  • SQLiteDataAdapter Update method returning 0

    I loaded 83 rows from my CSV file, but when I try to update the SQLite database I get 0 rows... I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The program outputs: Num rows loaded is 83 Num rows updated is 0 The source code is: public void InsertData(String csvFileName, String tableName) { String dir = Path.GetDirectoryName(csvFileName); String name = Path.GetFileName(csvFileName); using (OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" + dir + @";Extended Properties=""Text;HDR=Yes;FMT=Delimited""")) { conn.Open(); using (OleDbDataAdapter adapter = new OleDbDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM " + name, conn)) { QuoteDataSet ds = new QuoteDataSet(); adapter.Fill(ds, tableName); Console.WriteLine("Num rows loaded is " + ds.Tags.Rows.Count); InsertData(ds, tableName); } } } public void InsertData(QuoteDataSet data, String tableName) { using (SQLiteConnection conn = new SQLiteConnection(_connectionString)) { using (SQLiteDataAdapter sqliteAdapter = new SQLiteDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM " + tableName, conn)) { using (new SQLiteCommandBuilder(sqliteAdapter)) { conn.Open(); Console.WriteLine("Num rows updated is " + sqliteAdapter.Update(data, tableName)); } } } } Any hints on why it's not updating the correct number of rows?

  • How to do call function after client finishes download from tornado web server?

    - by Shabbyrobe
    I would like to be able to run some cleanup functions if and only if the client successfully completes the download of a file I'm serving using Tornado. I installed the firefox throttle tool and had it slow the connection down to dialup speed and installed this handler to generate a bunch of rubbish random text: class CrapHandler(BaseHandler): def get(self, token): crap = ''.join(random.choice(string.ascii_uppercase + string.digits) for x in range(100000)) self.write(crap) print "done" I get the following output from tornado immediately after making the request: done I 100524 19:45:45 web:772] 200 GET /123 (192.168.45.108) 195.10ms The client then plods along downloading for about 20 seconds. I expected that it would print "done" after the client was done. Also, if I do the following I get pretty much the same result: class CrapHandler(BaseHandler): @tornado.web.asynchronous def get(self, token): crap = ''.join(random.choice(string.ascii_uppercase + string.digits) for x in range(100000)) self.write(crap) self.finish() print "done" Am I missing something fundamental here? Can tornado even support what I'm trying to do? If not, is there an alternative that does?

  • extend web server to serve static files

    - by Turtle
    Hello, I want to extend a web server which is only able to handle RPC handling now. The web server is written in C#. It provides a abstract handler function like following: public string owsHandler(string request, string path, string param, OSHttpRequest httpRequest, OSHttpResponse httpResponse) And I wrote following code to handle image files: Bitmap queryImg = new Bitmap(path); System.IO.MemoryStream stream = new System.IO.MemoryStream(); queryImg.Save(stream, System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Bmp); queryImg.Dispose(); byte[] byteImage = stream.ToArray(); stream.Dispose(); return Convert.ToBase64String(byteImage); And I test it in the browser, the image is returned but the image dimension info is missed. Shall I add something more to the code? Or is any general way to server static files? I do not want to serve it in a ASP.net server. Thanks

  • Setting javascript prototype function within object class declaration

    - by Tauren
    Normally, I've seen prototype functions declared outside the class definition, like this: function Container(param) { this.member = param; } Container.prototype.stamp = function (string) { return this.member + string; } var container1 = new Container('A'); alert(container1.member); alert(container1.stamp('X')); This code produces two alerts with the values "A" and "AX". I'd like to define the prototype function INSIDE of the class definition. Is there anything wrong with doing something like this? function Container(param) { this.member = param; if (!Container.prototype.stamp) { Container.prototype.stamp = function() { return this.member + string; } } } I was trying this so that I could access a private variable in the class. But I've discovered that if my prototype function references a private var, the value of the private var is always the value that was used when the prototype function was INITIALLY created, not the value in the object instance: Container = function(param) { this.member = param; var privateVar = param; if (!Container.prototype.stamp) { Container.prototype.stamp = function(string) { return privateVar + this.member + string; } } } var container1 = new Container('A'); var container2 = new Container('B'); alert(container1.stamp('X')); alert(container2.stamp('X')); This code produces two alerts with the values "AAX" and "ABX". I was hoping the output would be "AAX" and "BBX". I'm curious why this doesn't work, and if there is some other pattern that I could use instead.

  • Printing to STDOUT and log file while removing ANSI color codes

    I have the following functions for colorizing my screen messages: def error(string): return '\033[31;1m' + string + '\033[0m' def standout(string): return '\033[34;1m' + string + '\033[0m' I use them as follows: print error('There was a problem with the program') print "This is normal " + standout("and this stands out") I want to log the output to a file (in addition to STDOUT) WITHOUT the ANSI color codes, hopefully without having to add a second "logging" line to each print statement. The reason is that if you simply python program.py > out then the file out will have the ANSI color codes, which look terrible if you open in a plain text editor. Any advice?

The code is as follows: class Program { public static void Main(string[] args) { var b = new B {Name = "BB"}; WriteFile<B>(@"C:\test.bin", b, true); var bb = ReadFile<B>(@"C:\test.bin", true); Console.WriteLine(b.Name == bb.Name); Console.ReadLine(); } public static T ReadFile<T>(string file, bool decrypt) { T bObj = default(T); var _binaryFormatter = new BinaryFormatter(); Stream buffer = null; using (var stream = new FileStream(file, FileMode.OpenOrCreate)) { if(decrypt) { const string strEncrypt = "*#4$%^.++q~!cfr0(_!#$@$!&#&#*&@(7cy9rn8r265&$@&*E^184t44tq2cr9o3r6329"; byte[] dv = {0x12, 0x34, 0x56, 0x78, 0x90, 0xAB, 0xCD, 0xEF}; CryptoStream cs; DESCryptoServiceProvider des = null; var byKey = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(strEncrypt.Substring(0, 8)); using (des = new DESCryptoServiceProvider()) { cs = new CryptoStream(stream, des.CreateEncryptor(byKey, dv), CryptoStreamMode.Read); } buffer = cs; } else buffer = stream; try { bObj = (T) _binaryFormatter.Deserialize(buffer); } catch(SerializationException ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex.Message); } } return bObj; } public static void WriteFile<T>(string file, T bObj, bool encrypt) { var _binaryFormatter = new BinaryFormatter(); Stream buffer; using (var stream = new FileStream(file, FileMode.Create)) { try { if(encrypt) { const string strEncrypt = "*#4$%^.++q~!cfr0(_!#$@$!&#&#*&@(7cy9rn8r265&$@&*E^184t44tq2cr9o3r6329"; byte[] dv = {0x12, 0x34, 0x56, 0x78, 0x90, 0xAB, 0xCD, 0xEF}; CryptoStream cs; DESCryptoServiceProvider des = null; var byKey = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(strEncrypt.Substring(0, 8)); using (des = new DESCryptoServiceProvider()) { cs = new CryptoStream(stream, des.CreateEncryptor(byKey, dv), CryptoStreamMode.Write); buffer = cs; } } else buffer = stream; _binaryFormatter.Serialize(buffer, bObj); buffer.Flush(); } catch(SerializationException ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex.Message); } } } } [Serializable] public class B { public string Name {get; set;} } It throws the serialization exception as follows The input stream is not a valid binary format.   • Performance of SHA-1 Checksum from Android 2.2 to 2.3 and Higher

    - by sbrichards
    In testing the performance of: package com.srichards.sha; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.widget.TextView; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStream; import java.security.MessageDigest; import java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException; import java.util.zip.ZipEntry; import java.util.zip.ZipFile; import com.srichards.sha.R; public class SHAHashActivity extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); TextView tv = new TextView(this); String shaVal = this.getString(R.string.sha); long systimeBefore = System.currentTimeMillis(); String result = shaCheck(shaVal); long systimeResult = System.currentTimeMillis() - systimeBefore; tv.setText("\nRunTime: " + systimeResult + "\nHas been modified? | Hash Value: " + result); setContentView(tv); } public String shaCheck(String shaVal){ try{ String resultant = "null"; MessageDigest digest = MessageDigest.getInstance("SHA1"); ZipFile zf = null; try { zf = new ZipFile("/data/app/com.blah.android-1.apk"); // /data/app/com.blah.android-2.apk } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } ZipEntry ze = zf.getEntry("classes.dex"); InputStream file = zf.getInputStream(ze); byte[] dataBytes = new byte[32768]; //65536 32768 int nread = 0; while ((nread = file.read(dataBytes)) != -1) { digest.update(dataBytes, 0, nread); } byte [] rbytes = digest.digest(); StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(""); for (int i = 0; i< rbytes.length; i++) { sb.append(Integer.toString((rbytes[i] & 0xff) + 0x100, 16).substring(1)); } if (shaVal.equals(sb.toString())) { resultant = ("\nFalse : " + "\nFound:\n" + sb.toString() + "|" + "\nHave:\n" + shaVal); } else { resultant = ("\nTrue : " + "\nFound:\n" + sb.toString() + "|" + "\nHave:\n" + shaVal); } return resultant; } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (NoSuchAlgorithmException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return null; } } On a 2.2 Device I get average runtime of ~350ms, while on newer devices I get runtimes of 26-50ms which is substantially lower. I'm keeping in mind these devices are newer and have better hardware but am also wondering if the platform and the implementation affect performance much and if there is anything that could reduce runtimes on 2.2 devices. Note, the classes.dex of the .apk being accessed is roughly 4MB. Thanks!
