  • Correct way to create a menu with shortcuts in WPF

    What is the correct/best way to create a menu with hotkey shortcuts? I simply want a File menu like Visual Studio's that has New, Open, Save, Save All, Exit, and a few other standard shortcuts. It seems that InputGestureText displays the appropriate text, but since it's called "Text" and doesn't seem to trigger events, I'm going to assume that isn't the right way to do it. The Command architecture also seems fairly bulky, so I don't want to head down that path if there is a better way.

Imagine a user clicks a menu item, navigation to the target page occurs and the menu item they selected is now differing, in say, color to that of the other items in the menu as a means to indicate this is the currently active location. How might one achieve this?

    Conside the following code: int main() { signed char a = 10; a += a; // Line 5 a = a + a; return 0; } I am getting this warning at Line 5: d:\codes\operator cast\operator cast\test.cpp(5) : warning C4244: '+=' : conversion from 'int' to 'signed char', possible loss of data Does this mean that += operator makes an implicit cast of the right hand operator to int? P.S: I am using Visual studio 2005

    I've implement my activeX control in Delphi. I've build a c# application to embed it. It runs fine on my computer. After that, I copy and paste all c# solution with the my ocx file to another computer, register by regsrv32.exe succeed, add to COM components on visual studio toolbox, compile and run again. It consistently complains ' System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8000FFFF): Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED)) What's problem I'm dealing with? What may I do wrong?

    I have a winform application to compress and move some files. When I try to access a path on my desktop, I get an unauthorisedaccess exception. I am running visual studio as administrator (says that in the program bar) and I am a full admin on my machine (can access other accounts, etc). How can I acess this path (folder)?     I'm currently writing an app in C# using using Visual Studio. As such, VS2010 created a Solution directory with my project directories inside. So my Hierarchy is like this: Solution .git project1 project2 What I'd like to do is make it like this: Solution Project 1 .git Project 2 As of right now the files in the solution are tracked, except for the project 2 (so stuff like project.sln for example). Is there a way I can do this without rewriting the history? Thanks in advance.

    I need to add a column to an existing table in my live sql database. I know how to use the ALTER command, but what I want to know is the effect this has on the table. For example,, if using SQL Management Studio, it claims that adding a column will "drop and recreate" the table. Will the ALTER table command do that as well? This table is CONSTANTLY accessed and VERY important so I want to make VERY sure of this before going forward.

    I have an application that has drag and drop functionality to import images and video's. While developing, and testing through Visual Studio this has never given any problems. After installing through a set up project, everything in the application works fine, except the drag and drop, which seems to be doing nothing. Are there any security settings that need to be set through an installer, or something of that nature that could be preventing drag and drop after installation ?

    I have been playing with this webbrowser control example I got it working and added some timers using ON_WM_TIMER. Now I would like to access the m_Browser (CWebBrowser class instance) defined inside the protected CMyBrowserView class into a different class. (for example CMyBrowserApp in the code sample) and use .Navigate and other functions. How can I do this? (im using visual studio 6 c++)
