  • Word 2007 Document Properties (gone wrong)

    I have copied a document which contains some properties which are displayed in fields in the text. Specifically the "Subject" property. If I update the properties in "Menu Prepare Properties", then navigate to the field in my document, right-click it and select "Update Field", I would expect the field in my document to be updated with the new value that was entered in the menu, but the opposite is happening. Is there some strange voodoo going on here?

  • Nested Linear layout only shows first view after being set from gone to visible in Android

    Hi guys, I am developing an Android app but I'm still pretty new. I want to have a button, and when you push that button, a few TextViews and Buttons will appear. So I have a main linear layout, and then another linear layout nested inside containing the things I want hidden. I have the nested linear layout set to android:visibility="gone". The problem I am having is that it only shows the first item inside the hidden linear layout instead of all of them.   • Sharepoint page menu items gone?

    I'm running MOSS 2007 and have created a new site under an existing one using sitemanager.aspx. I've done this on two machines. on one of those everything works correctly, while on the other some of the menu items for pages in the site seem to be gone. Also on the faulty site I get "Access denied" when I click "Version history". The permissions on both sites should be the same. I attach a screenshot of how the menus differ from each other. The one to the right (the faulty one) is unfortunately not in English but the items appearing on it are "Open link in a new window", "Copy", "Edit page settings" and "Version history".     I want to make an Animation for when a View gets it's visibility set to GONE. Instead of just dissapearing, the View should 'collapse'. I tried this with a ScaleAnimation but then the View is collapse, but the layout will only resize it's space after (or before) the Animation stops (or starts). How can I make the Animation so that, while animating, the lower Views will move up?

    I downloaded Process Monitor and began monitoring my project directory that I am writing code in. I see endless entries every couple seconds of: Operation: Create File C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\csharp C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\code C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\web and so on for the rest of the templates Then it says the result is PATH NOT FOUND. What is happening? Has Visual Studio GONE CRAZY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

    I instantiate an object of some class in other ApDomain using CreateInstanceAndUnwrap(). I can determine if this object resides in other domain by using RemotingServices.IsTransparentProxy(). But can I determine if the real remote object has gone away (e.g. was garbage collected) without probing a call on proxy and catching RemotingException? Is it possible?

  • Error 2006: "MySQL server has gone away" using Python, Bottle Microframework and Apache

    After accessing my web app using: - Python 2.7 - the Bottle micro framework v. 0.10.6 - Apache 2.2.22 - mod_wsgi - on Ubuntu Server 12.04 64bit; I'm receiving this error after several hours: OperationalError: (2006, 'MySQL server has gone away') I'm using MySQL - the native one included in Python. It usually happens when I don't access the server. I've tried closing all the connections, which I do, using this: cursor.close() db.close() where db is the standard MySQLdb.Connection() call. The my.cnf file looks something like this: key_buffer = 16M max_allowed_packet = 128M thread_stack = 192K thread_cache_size = 8 # This replaces the startup script and checks MyISAM tables if needed # the first time they are touched myisam-recover = BACKUP #max_connections = 100 #table_cache = 64 #thread_concurrency = 10 It is the default configuration file except max_allowed_packet is 128M instead of 16M. The queries to the database are quite simple, at most they retrieve approximately 100 records. Can anyone help me fix this? One idea I did have was use try/except but I'm not sure if that would actually work. Thanks in advance, Jamie

  • Android ScrollView jumps around when setting child visibility to View.GONE

    I have a ScrollView that contains an number of other views (TextViews, ImageViews, etc.). The ScrollView is taller than the screen. I have an AsyncTask that updates the children of the ScrollView based on an http response. I've discovered an interesting behavior that I can't figure out how to work around. If I set any of the children's visibilities to View.INVISIBLE as part of the AsyncTask.onPostExecute(), everything works fine. However, if I set any of the children's visibilities to View.GONE, the ScrollView jumps down from the top when onPostExecute() is called. Exactly how far seems to vary. I'm guessing that re-laying out the ScrollView is causing it to scroll away from the top for some reason. So the question is: is there a way to either prevent or work around this behavior? PS. Using ScrollView.jump(FOCUS_UP) as a workaround isn't ideal since that'll force the user to the top even if they had intended to scroll down.

    I have a MySQL gone away with Django under WSGI. I found entries for this problem on stackoverflow, but nothing with Django specifically. Google does not help, except for workarounds (like polling the website every once in a while, or increasing the database timeout). Nothing definitive. Technically, Django and/or MySQLdb (I'm using the latest 1.2.3c1) should attempt a reconnect if the server hanged the connection, but this does not happen. How can I solve this issue without workarounds ?

  • Intentionally get a "MySQL server has gone away" error

    I'm trying to cope with MySQL's error MySQL server has gone away in a django env. The quick workaround was to set the global wait_timeout MySQL variable to a huge value, but in the long run this would accumulate to many open connections. I figured I'll get the wait_timeout variable and poll the server in smaller intervals. After implementing this I tried to test it but am failing to get the error. I set global wait_timeout=15 and even set global interactive_timeout=15 but the connection refuses to disappear. I'm sure I'm polling the database in larger intervals than 15sec. What could be the cause for not being able to recreate this error?

    Occasionally we're seeing an error from ASP pages: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' [MySQL][MyODBC 5.00.11][MySQL] 2006 MySQL server has gone away We're handling it the best way we can in ASP but it still crops up. I think it's more to do with the MySQL ODBC driver than the ASP code. We never see this with PHP code we also have running under the same IIS server, however PHP re-connects each time it is ran, whereas I believe the ODBC driver connects once and stays connected. I've checked the settings in the driver but there doesn't seem to be anything I can change to help mitigate the problem. Can anyone explain why this is happening and how to reduce the number of times it happens?

    Attempting to pull my database from Heroku gives an error partway through the process (below). Using: Snow Leopard; heroku-1.8.2; taps-0.2.26; rails-2.3.5; mysql-5.1.42. Database is smallish, as you can see from the error message. Heroku tech support says it's a problem on my system, but offers nothing in the way of how to solve it.   • Git diff gone mad?

    I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my local Git repo. I edit a file. Git reports everything has changed in the file (I only changed one line) At first I think "must be a newline problem", but it's not. I do a diff in TortoiseGit, everything looks fine. I do a diff with Netbeans (git plugin), everything seems fine. I do a reset, backup the file, modify it, git again reports everything has changed. I do a binary compare in Total Commander, the files have no differences except for the single line I changed. I do a hard reset again. Git tells me it was done successfully. Git status still says my file has changed. I diff the thing and there are no differences - bug git says there are. I've tried using both git bash and gui, with same results (I'm on Windows). Any clues, what's going on here?

  • where has sun mysql database manager gone???

    If I recall correctly, there where at least to desktop programas from sun which were very useful for handling mysql databases... Now, all I can find is some mysql workbench which is only useful for designing data... Both programs I'm talking about allowed you to manage servers, create database, create tables, index, perform querys, edit data, etc... unfortunately I don't even recall there names... Any idea where I can find them? thanks a lot

  • IOKit header assert.h gone? [answered]

    I want to get the hardware address of my mac's ethernet card. In all samples I saw in include on IOKit/assert.h . Which doesn't seem to exist on my system. GCC throws an error saying he doesn't know the type IOEthernetAddress. Is assert.h necessary for my task? It would be great if someone coud give me a working sample.   • permutations gone wrong

    I have written code to implement an algorithm I found on string permutations. What I have is an arraylist of words ( up to 200) and I need to permutate the list in levels of 5. Basically group the string words in fives and permutated them. What I have takes the first 5 words generates the permutations and ignores the rest of the arraylist? Any ideas appreciated.
