  • Mac internal mic not working with Xlite

    I've used xlite for a while now but all of the sudden the internal mic from my mac stopped to work with it. It does call, and you can see the red bar rising but the other person can't hear a thing. The mic does work when using Skype so I think it's a problem with Xlite Things I've already tried: Reconfigure Xlite Reinstall Xlite Install Xlite Beta (After every step I rebooted the macbook) Obviously none of them worked.     Is there any program or way to make Mac OS X's ?(command)-tab behave like Windows' alt-tab? That is, instead of switching between applications, to switch between windows of all applications. I do know there's a way to switch between windows of the same application, but that's not what I want either. I'm not just trying to make Mac OS X behave like my recent former OS, I've been a Mac user for over two years and before that Ubuntu. After using Expose and ?-tab I think Windows' or Ubuntu's alt-tab is better.

  • Why is ssh agent forwarding not working?

    In my own computer, running MacOSX, I have this in ~/.ssh/config Host * ForwardAgent yes Host b1 ForwardAgent yes b1 is a virtual machine running Ubuntu 12.04. I ssh to it like this: ssh pupeno@b1 and I get logged in without being asked for a password because I already copied my public key. Due to forwarding, I should be able to ssh to pupeno@b1 from b1 and it should work, without asking me for a password, but it doesn't. It asks me for a password. What am I missing?   • Moving Exchange .EDB and .STM file to other partition

    Im trying to move my exchange mailbox store to a new partition and i keep running into an error message saying: "cannot copy insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service." The server is a Dell Poweredge 2850 with Dual Xeon Processors @ 3.00GHz and 4GB of ram. Running Win Server 2K3 R2 SP2 with Exchange 2K3 Standard. The Store is around 55GB any ideas. I want to get exchange on its on partition since I need to free up some space on the partition its currently on.

  • My Mac Book Pro is turning itself, on my bagpack

    This happens to me twice: I press the power button on my Mac Book Pro, I choose sleep, I close it, I unplug everything, I confirm that is off (by pressing my ear to it) and put it in my back. Some minutes latter it wakes up by itself. Both times I caught it in time, well, the second time it was so hot I couldn't touch some parts and it was refusing to actually wake up, the screen was blank. Restarting it worked though. Any ideas what might be going on and/or how to prevent this?

  • Missing pictures in folder

    I had a folder with some pictures, somehow these pictures are "missing" and I cannot see them anymore. The strange thing is that if I use the "preview" view in Explorer (the one that shows the tiny icons of the folder contents), the folder preview shows these pictures as if they were inside. Once I enter the folder, they are not there anymore. I tried showing hidden files and folders, that doesn't help. Any ideas on how to show or recover those files? I'm using Windows XP.

Explanation: I'm going to buy the phone from a guy, and he is not sure if the phone is unlocked or not. The phone is still in a box, it was a gift and came with a T-mobile SIM card that he never used. He is not paying any monthly fee for it.

  • Nightly backups (and maybe other tasks) causing server alerts

    I have two independent alert notification systems for my servers. The server is a virtual machine on Linode and one of the alerts comes from Linode. The other monitoring system we use is New Relic. They are both watching out for IO utilization. Every night I get alerts from both of them as the server is using too much IO. I run quite a few tasks in the middle of the night but the one I confirmed that can cause IO-warnings is running the backups. The backup is done by s3cmd sync. I tried ionice but it still generates the warnings. Getting warnings every night reduces the efficacy of warnings when they happen for real. For Linode I could raise the level at which a warning is issued, but it might mean making the whole thing useless as the level is too high. What would be the proper solution for this?

    I've installed ELMAH 1.1 .Net 3.5 x64 in my ASP.NET project and now I'm getting this error (whenever I try to see any page): Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SQLite, Version=1.0.61.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=db937bc2d44ff139' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. My Active Solution platform is "Any CPU" and I'm running on a x64 Windows 7 on an x64, of course, processor. The reason why we are using this version of ELMAH is because 1.0 .Net 3.5 (x86, which is the only platform for which it's compiled) gave us this same error on our x64 Windows server. I've tried compiling for x86 and x64 and I get the same error. I've tried removing the all compiler output (bin and obj).   • Is there a list of known web crawlers?

    I'm trying to get accurate download numbers for some files on a web server. I look at the user agents and some are clearly bots or web crawlers, but many for many I'm not sure, they may or may not be a web crawler and they are causing many downloads so it's important for me to know. Is there somewhere a list of know web crawlers with some documentation like user agent, IPs, behavior, etc? I'm not interested in the official ones, like Google's, Yahoo's, or Microsoft's. Those are generally well behaved and self-indentified.

Any ideas how it's done?

I'm deploying a Ruby on Rails app with Capistrano and there I'd like to separate the production from the development branch. Should I point Capistrano to a different repo or should I use branches?

  • Rails 2 support after Rails 3 has been released

    Is there some plan or estimate about how long will Rails 2 be supported after Rails 3 has been released? I wanted to ride the wave and move to Rails 3 right away, specially for projects that may take 4 or 6 months to finish (so that they would probably be released with Rails 3.0.0 final) but I've found many things still not working, many basic plugins and gems; so I believe I'm stuck with Rails 2 for now.

    When I double click on an mdf file on Visual Web Developer 2008 (NerdDinner.mdf) it says: Connections to SQL Server files (*.mdf) require SQL Server Express 2005 to function properly. Please verify the installation of the component or download from the URL: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=49251 The URL of course points to SQL Server Express 2008. I have that one installed and running. Any ideas why am I getting that message?

    I the School class I have this code: from student in this.Students where student.Teacher.Id == id select student The Student class there are two relationships: Teacher and School. In the School class I'm trying to find out all the students whose Teacher has a given id. The problem is that I get System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. in the statement student.Teacher.Id I thought of doing this.Students.Include("Teacher"), but this.Students doesn't have such a method. Any ideas how can I perform that query?
