  • Need to interface to a C++ DLL

    - by Pedro
Hi, I need to call a C++ API from C#. I have been able to call the API, but the char[] parameters do not seem to be marshalling correctly. Here's the C++ signature: Create2ptModel(double modelPowers[2], double modelDacs[2], int pclRange[2], double targetPowers[32], double *dacAdjustFactor, unsigned short powerRampFactors[32], BOOL bPCLDacAdjusted[32], char calibrationModel[32], char errMsg[1024]) and this is how I am trying to call it from C# [DllImport("AlgorithmsLib.dll", EntryPoint = "_Create2ptModel@36", ExactSpelling = true, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall, CharSet = CharSet.Auto)] private static extern AlgorithmStatus Create2ptModel( double[] modelPowers, double[] modelDacs, int[] pclRange, double[] targetPowers, ref double dacAdjustFactor, ushort[] powerRampFactors, bool[] bPCLDacAdjusted, /**/char[] calibrationModel, char[] errMsg/**/); Any idea of how I can marshall it correctly? Thanks in advance!

  • WebCenter Customer Spotlight: Texas Industries, Inc.

    - by me
Author: Peter Reiser - Social Business Evangelist, Oracle WebCenter  Solution SummaryTexas Industries, Inc. (TXI) is a leading supplier of cement, aggregate, and consumer product building materials for residential, commercial, and public works projects. TXI is based in Dallas and employs around 2,000 employees. The customer had the challenge of decentralized and manual processes for entering 180,000 vendor invoices annually.  Invoice entry was a time- and resource-intensive process that entailed significant personnel requirements. TXI implemented a centralized solution leveraging Oracle WebCenter Imaging, a smart routing solution that enables users to capture invoices electronically with Oracle WebCenter Capture and Oracle WebCenter Forms Recognition to send  the invoices through to Oracle Financials for approvals and processing.  TXI significantly lowered resource needs for payable processing,  increase productivity by 80% and reduce invoice processing cycle times by 84%—from 20 to 30 days to just 3 to 5 days, on average. Company OverviewTexas Industries, Inc. (TXI) is a leading supplier of cement, aggregate, and consumer product building materials for residential, commercial, and public works projects. With operating subsidiaries in six states, TXI is the largest producer of cement in Texas and a major producer in California. TXI is a major supplier of stone, sand, gravel, and expanded shale and clay products, and one of the largest producers of bagged cement and concrete  products in the Southwest. Business ChallengesTXI had the challenge of decentralized and manual processes for entering 180,000 vendor invoices annually.  Invoice entry was a time- and resource-intensive process that entailed significant personnel requirements. Their business objectives were: Increase the efficiency of core business processes, such as invoice processing, to support the organization’s desire to maintain its role as the Southwest’s leader in delivering high-quality, low-cost products to the construction industry Meet the audit and regulatory requirements for achieving Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance Streamline entry of 180,000 invoices annually to accelerate processing, reduce errors, cut invoice storage and routing costs, and increase visibility into payables liabilities Solution DeployedTXI replaced a resource-intensive, paper-based, decentralized process for invoice entry with a centralized solution leveraging Oracle WebCenter Imaging 11g. They worked with the Oracle Partner Keste LLC to develop a smart routing solution that enables users to capture invoices electronically with Oracle WebCenter Capture and then uses Oracle WebCenter Forms Recognition and the Oracle WebCenter Imaging workflow to send the invoices through to Oracle Financials for approvals and processing. Business Results Significantly lowered resource needs for payable processing through centralization and improved efficiency  Enabled the company to process invoices faster and pay bills earlier, allowing it to take advantage of additional vendor discounts Tracked to increase productivity by 80% and reduce invoice processing cycle times by 84%—from 20 to 30 days to just 3 to 5 days, on average Achieved a 25% reduction in paper invoice storage costs now that invoices are captured digitally, and enabled a 50% reduction in shipping costs, as the company no longer has to send paper invoices between headquarters and production facilities for approvals “Entering and manually processing more than 180,000 vendor invoices annually was time and labor intensive. With Oracle Imaging and Process Management, we have automated and centralized invoice entry and processing at our corporate office, improving productivity by 80% and reducing invoice processing cycle times by 84%—a very important efficiency gain.” Terry Marshall, Vice President of Information Services, Texas Industries, Inc. • How to use Parcel in Android?

    - by Mike
I'm trying to use Parcel to write and then read back a Parcelable. For some reason, when I read the object back from the file, it's coming back as null. public void testFoo() { final Foo orig = new Foo("blah blah"); // Wrote orig to a parcel and then byte array final Parcel p1 = Parcel.obtain(); p1.writeValue(orig); final byte[] bytes = p1.marshall(); // Check to make sure that the byte array seems to contain a Parcelable assertEquals(4, bytes[0]); // Parcel.VAL_PARCELABLE // Unmarshall a Foo from that byte array final Parcel p2 = Parcel.obtain(); p2.unmarshall(bytes, 0, bytes.length); final Foo result = (Foo) p2.readValue(Foo.class.getClassLoader()); assertNotNull(result); // FAIL assertEquals( orig.str, result.str ); } protected static class Foo implements Parcelable { protected static final Parcelable.Creator<Foo> CREATOR = new Parcelable.Creator<Foo>() { public Foo createFromParcel(Parcel source) { final Foo f = new Foo(); f.str = (String) source.readValue(Foo.class.getClassLoader()); return f; } public Foo[] newArray(int size) { throw new UnsupportedOperationException(); } }; public String str; public Foo() { } public Foo( String s ) { str = s; } public int describeContents() { return 0; } public void writeToParcel(Parcel dest, int ignored) { dest.writeValue(str); } } What am I missing? UPDATE: To simplify the test I've removed the reading and writing of files in my original example.

  • Most efficient way to send images across processes

    - by Heinrich Ulbricht
Goal Pass images generated by one process efficiently and at very high speed to another process. The two processes run on the same machine and on the same desktop. The operating system may be WinXP, Vista and Win7. Detailled description The first process is solely for controlling the communication with a device which produces the images. These images are about 500x300px in size and may be updated up to several hundred times per second. The second process needs these images to display them. The first process uses a third party API to paint the images from the device to a HDC. This HDC has to be provided by me. Note: There is already a connection open between the two processes. They are communicating via anonymous pipes and share memory mapped file views. Thoughts How would I achieve this goal with as little work as possible? And I mean both work for me and the computer. I am using Delphi, so maybe there is some component available for doing this? I think I could always paint to any image component's HDC, save the content to memory stream, copy the contents via the memory mapped file, unpack it on the other side and paint it there to the destination HDC. I also read about a IPicture interface which can be used to marshall images. What are your ideas? I appreciate every thought on this!

  • JAXB, how to marshal without a namespace

    - by Alvin
I have a fairly large repetitive XML to create using JAXB. Storing the whole object in the memory then do the marshaling takes too much memory. Essentially, my XML looks like this: <Store> <item /> <item /> <item /> ..... </Store> Currently my solution to the problem is to "hard code" the root tag to an output stream, and marshal each of the repetitive element one by one: aOutputStream.write("<?xml version="1.0"?>") aOutputStream.write("<Store>") foreach items as item aMarshaller.marshall(item, aOutputStream) end aOutputStream.write("</Store>") aOutputStream.close() Somehow the JAXB generate the XML like this <Store xmlns="http://stackoverflow.com"> <item xmlns="http://stackoverflow.com"/> <item xmlns="http://stackoverflow.com"/> <item xmlns="http://stackoverflow.com"/> ..... </Store> Although this is a valid XML, but it just look ugly, so I'm wonder is there any way to tell the marshaller not to put namespace for the item elements? Or is there better way to use JAXB to serialize to XML chunk by chunk?

  • JAXB code generation: how to remove a zero occurrence field?

    - by reef
Hi all, I use JAXB 2.1 to generate Java classes from several XSD files, and I have a problem related to complex type restriction. On of the restrictions modifies the occurence configuration from minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" to minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="0". Thus this field is not needed anymore in the restricted type. But actually JAXB generates the restricted class with a [0..1] cardinality instead of 0. By the way the generation is tuned with <xjc:treatRestrictionLikeNewType / so that a XSD restriction is not mapped to a Java class inheritance. Here is an example: Here is the way a field is defined in a complex type A: <element name="qualifier" type="CR" maxOccurs="unbounded" minOccurs="0"/ Here is the way the same field is restricted in another complex type B that restricts A: <element name="qualifier" type="CR" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="0"/ In the A generated class I have: @XmlElement(name = "qualifier") protected List<CR qualifiers; And in the B generated class I have: protected CR qualifiers; With my poor understanding of JAXB the absence of the XmlElement annotation tells JAXB not to marshall/unmarshall this field. Am I wrong? If I am right is there a way to tell JAXB not to generate the qualifiers field at all? This would be in my opinion a much better generation as it respects the constraints. Any idea, thougths on the topic? Thanks!!

  • Will this web service accept both raw xml and an object?

    - by ChadNC
We have a web service that provides auto insurance quotes and a company that provides an insurance agency management system would like to use the web service for thier client but they want to pass the web service raw xml instead of using the wsdl to create a port, the object the service expects and calling the web method. The web service has performed flawlessly by creating an object like so com.insurance.quotesvc.AgencyQuote service = new com.insurance.quotesvc.AgencyQuote(); com.insurance.quotesvc.QuotePortType port = service.getQuotePortType(); com.insurance.quotesvc.schemas.request.ACORD parameter = null; Then create initialize the request object with the other objects that make up the response. parameter = factory.createACORD(); parameter.setSignonRq(signOn); parameter.setInsurancesSvcRq(svcRq); And send the request to the web service. com.insurance.quotesvc.schemas.response.ACORD result = null; result = port.requestQuote(parameter); By doing that I am able to easily marshall the request and the result into an xml file and do with them as I wish. So if a client was to send the web service via an http post as raw xml inside of a soap envelope. Would the web service be able to handle the xml without any changes being made to the web service or would there need to be changes made to the web service in order for it to handle a request of that type? The web service is a JAX_WS and we currently have both Java and C# clients consuming the web service using the method described above but now there is another client who wants to send raw xml inside of a soap envelope instead of creating the objects. I feel pretty sure that they will be making the call to the web service using vb. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but it is eluding me at the moment and any help is greatly appreciated.

  • need an empty XML while unmarshalling a JAXB annotated class

    - by sswdeveloper
I have a JAXB annotated class Customer as follows @XmlRootElement(namespace = "http://www.abc.com/customer") public class Customer{ private String name; private Address address; @XmlTransient private HashSet set = new HashSet<String>(); public String getName(){ return name; } @XmlElement(name = "Name", namespace = "http://www.abc.com/customer" ) public void setName(String name){ this.name = name; set.add("name"); } public String getAddress(){ return address; } @XmlElement(name = "Address", namespace = "http://www.abc.com/customer") public void setAddress(Address address){ this.address = address; set.add("address"); } public HashSet getSet(){ return set; } } I need to return an empty XML representing this to the user, so that he may fill the necesary values in the XML and send a request So what I require is : <Customer> <Name></Name> <Address></Address> </Customer> If i simply create an empty object Customer cust = new Customer() ; marshaller.marshall(cust,sw); all I get is the toplevel element since the other fields of the class are unset. What can I do to get such an empty XML? I tried adding the nillable=true annotation to the elements however, this returns me an XML with the xsi:nil="true" which then causes my unmarshaller to ignore this. How do I achieve this?

  • glTexImage2D + byte[]

    - by miniMe
    How can I upload pixels from a simple byte array to an OpenGl texture ? I'm using glTexImage2D and all I get is a white rectangle instead of a pixelated texture. The 9th parameter (32-bit pointer to the pixel data) is IMO the problem. I tried lots of parameter types there (byte, ref byte, byte[], ref byte[], int & IntPtr + Marshall, out byte, out byte[], byte*). glGetError() always returns GL_NO_ERROR. There must be something I'm doing wrong because it's never some gibberish pixels. It's always white. glGenTextures works correct. The first id has the value 1 like always in OpenGL. And I draw colored lines without any problem. So something is wrong with my texturing. I'm in control of the DllImport. So I can change the parameter types if necessary. GL.glBindTexture(GL.GL_TEXTURE_2D, id); int w = 4; int h = 4; byte[] bytes = new byte[w * h * 4]; for (int i = 0; i < bytes.Length; i++) bytes[i] = (byte)Utils.random(256); GL.glTexImage2D(GL.GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, GL.GL_RGBA, w, h, 0, GL.GL_RGBA, GL.GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, bytes); [DllImport(GL_LIBRARY)] public static extern void glTexImage2D(uint what, int level, int internalFormat, int width, int height, int border, int format, int type, byte[] bytes);

  • The application called an interface that was marshalled for a different thread

    - by X-Ray
i'm writing a delphi app that communicates with excel. one thing i noticed is that if i call the Save method on the Excel workbook object, it can appear to hang because excel has a dialog box open for the user. i'm using the late binding. i'd like for my app to be able to notice when Save takes several seconds and then take some kind of action like show a dialog box telling this is what's happening. i figured this'd be fairly easy. all i'd need to do is create a thread that calls Save and have that thread call Excel's Save routine. if it takes too long, i can take some action. procedure TOfficeConnect.Save; var Thread:TOfficeHangThread; begin // spin off as thread so we can control timeout Thread:=TOfficeSaveThread.Create(m_vExcelWorkbook); if WaitForSingleObject(Thread.Handle, 5 {s} * 1000 {ms/s})=WAIT_TIMEOUT then begin Thread.FreeOnTerminate:=true; raise Exception.Create(_('The Office spreadsheet program seems to be busy.')); end; Thread.Free; end; TOfficeSaveThread = class(TThread) private { Private declarations } m_vExcelWorkbook:variant; protected procedure Execute; override; procedure DoSave; public constructor Create(vExcelWorkbook:variant); end; { TOfficeSaveThread } constructor TOfficeSaveThread.Create(vExcelWorkbook:variant); begin inherited Create(true); m_vExcelWorkbook:=vExcelWorkbook; Resume; end; procedure TOfficeSaveThread.Execute; begin m_vExcelWorkbook.Save; end; i understand this problem happens because the OLE object was created from another thread (absolutely). how can i get around this problem? most likely i'll need to "re-marshall" for this call somehow... any ideas? thank you!

  • Webservice returns java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException

    - by Damian
Hi, I am receiving the above message when making a request to a java webservice. We originally created a Java Console application and manually submitted an xml file. When running this as a Java Application the response is successfully created and displayed by using System.out.println. We are creating the web service by selecting the java file that contains the methods and choosing "create webservice" specifying the dynamic project that the webservice is to be created in and the methods to be exposed. What the application is doing is taking an xml file and unmarshalling this to an object using: public static Object unmarshalToObject(Class classToBeBound, String xmlRequest) { Object obj = new Object(); try { JAXBContext jc = JAXBContext.newInstance(classToBeBound); Unmarshaller um = jc.createUnmarshaller(); obj = um.unmarshal(new StringReader(xmlRequest)); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace() } return obj; } Some processing is carried out on the file and then an object is marshalled to xml as follows: public static String marshalToXML(Object data) { StringWriter sw = new StringWriter(); try { logger.info("Create new Marshall"); JAXBContext jc = JAXBContext.newInstance("ContextPathName"); logger.info("Marshalled to xmlObjects"); Marshaller marshaller = jc.createMarshaller(); marshaller.setProperty(Marshaller.JAXB_FORMATTED_OUTPUT, true); marshaller.setProperty(Marshaller.JAXB_FRAGMENT, true); marshaller.marshal(data, sw); } catch (Exception e) { logException(logger, e); } return sw.toString(); } The following is the line of code that seems to be causing an issue as the logger displays the message prior to this: JAXBContext jc = JAXBContext.newInstance("ContextPathName"); The webservice never gets to the next line - the following is the body of the SOAP message: <soapenv:Fault> <faultcode>soapenv:Server.userException</faultcode> <faultstring>java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException</faultstring> <detail> <ns1:hostname xmlns:ns1="http://xml.apache.org/axis/">servername</ns1:hostname> </detail> </soapenv:Fault> I have added Try/Catch around this section of code even as far as looking for JAXBExceptions but this does not seem to catch anything - nor does the general exception. This issue does not occur when running the console application. The build path for this includes the following contents of sun\jwsdp-2.0\jaxb\lib: jaxb-api.jar jsr173_1.0_api.jar jaxb-impl.jar I have added these to the lib folder in the WEB-INF file of the dynamic project. I am running the webservice in JBuilder 2008 R2 and using SOAPUI to submit the request - this points to the wsdl generated when creating the webservice. If anyone has any help or ideas on how to solve this could they please reply - thanks for taking the time to read this post!

  • .Net Remote Log Querying

    - by jlafay
I have a Win Service that I'm working on that consists of the service, WF Service (using WorkflowServiceHost), a Workflow (WorkflowApplication) that queries/processes data from a SQL Server DB, and a Comm Marshall class that handles data flow between the service and the WF. The WF does a lot of heavy data processing and the original app (early VB6) logged all the processing and displayed the results on the screen of the host machine. Critical events will be committed to eventlog because I strongly believe that should be common practice because admins naturally will look there and because it already has support for remote viewing. The workflow will also need to write logging events as it processes and iterates according to our business logic. Such as: records queried, records returned, processed records, etc. The data is very critical and we need to log actions as they occur. The logs are currently kept as text files on disk and I think that is ok. Ideally I would like to record log events in XML so it's easier to query and because it is less costly than a DB, especially since our DB servers do a lot of heavy processing anyways. Since we are replacing essentially a VB6 application with a robust windows service (taking advantage of WF 4.0), it has been requested that a remote client also be created. It receives callbacks from the service after subscribing to it and being added to a collection of subscribers. Basic statistics and summaries are updated client side after receiving basic monitoring data of what is going on with the service. We would like to also provide a way to provide details when we need to examine what is going on further because this is a long running data processing service and issues need to be addressed immediately. What is the best way to implement some type of query from the client that is sent to the service and returned to the client? Would it be efficient to implement another method to expose on the service and then have that pass that off to some querying class/object to examine the XML files by whichever specification and then return it to the client? That's the main concern. I don't want the service to processing to bottleneck much while this occurs. It seems that WF already auto-magically threads well for the most part but I want to make sure this is the right way to go about it. Any suggestions/recommendations on how to architect and implement a small log querying framework for a remote service would be awesome.

  • Calling CryptUIWizDigitalSign from .NET on x64

    - by Joe Kuemerle
    I am trying to digitally sign files using the CryptUIWizDigitalSign function from a .NET 2.0 application compiled to AnyCPU. The call works fine when running on x86 but fails on x64, it also works on an x64 OS when compiled to x86. Any idea on how to better marshall or call from x64? The Win32exception returned is "Error encountered during digital signing of the file ..." with a native error code of -2146762749. The relevant portion of the code are: [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] public struct CRYPTUI_WIZ_DIGITAL_SIGN_INFO { public Int32 dwSize; public Int32 dwSubjectChoice; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPWStr)] public string pwszFileName; public Int32 dwSigningCertChoice; public IntPtr pSigningCertContext; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPWStr)] public string pwszTimestampURL; public Int32 dwAdditionalCertChoice; public IntPtr pSignExtInfo; } [DllImport("Cryptui.dll", CharSet=CharSet.Unicode, SetLastError=true)] public static extern bool CryptUIWizDigitalSign(int dwFlags, IntPtr hwndParent, string pwszWizardTitle, ref CRYPTUI_WIZ_DIGITAL_SIGN_INFO pDigitalSignInfo, ref IntPtr ppSignContext); CRYPTUI_WIZ_DIGITAL_SIGN_INFO digitalSignInfo = new CRYPTUI_WIZ_DIGITAL_SIGN_INFO(); digitalSignInfo = new CRYPTUI_WIZ_DIGITAL_SIGN_INFO(); digitalSignInfo.dwSize = Marshal.SizeOf(digitalSignInfo); digitalSignInfo.dwSubjectChoice = 1; digitalSignInfo.dwSigningCertChoice = 1; digitalSignInfo.pSigningCertContext = pSigningCertContext; digitalSignInfo.pwszTimestampURL = timestampUrl; digitalSignInfo.dwAdditionalCertChoice = 0; digitalSignInfo.pSignExtInfo = IntPtr.Zero; digitalSignInfo.pwszFileName = filepath; CryptUIWizDigitalSign(1, IntPtr.Zero, null, ref digitalSignInfo, ref pSignContext)); And here is how the SigningCertContext is retrieved (minus various error handling) public IntPtr GetCertContext(String pfxfilename, String pswd) IntPtr hMemStore = IntPtr.Zero; IntPtr hCertCntxt = IntPtr.Zero; IntPtr pProvInfo = IntPtr.Zero; uint provinfosize = 0; try { byte[] pfxdata = PfxUtility.GetFileBytes(pfxfilename); CRYPT_DATA_BLOB ppfx = new CRYPT_DATA_BLOB(); ppfx.cbData = pfxdata.Length; ppfx.pbData = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(pfxdata.Length); Marshal.Copy(pfxdata, 0, ppfx.pbData, pfxdata.Length); hMemStore = Win32.PFXImportCertStore(ref ppfx, pswd, CRYPT_USER_KEYSET); pswd = null; if (hMemStore != IntPtr.Zero) { Marshal.FreeHGlobal(ppfx.pbData); while ((hCertCntxt = Win32.CertEnumCertificatesInStore(hMemStore, hCertCntxt)) != IntPtr.Zero) { if (Win32.CertGetCertificateContextProperty(hCertCntxt, CERT_KEY_PROV_INFO_PROP_ID, IntPtr.Zero, ref provinfosize)) pProvInfo = Marshal.AllocHGlobal((int)provinfosize); else continue; if (Win32.CertGetCertificateContextProperty(hCertCntxt, CERT_KEY_PROV_INFO_PROP_ID, pProvInfo, ref provinfosize)) break; } } finally { if (pProvInfo != IntPtr.Zero) Marshal.FreeHGlobal(pProvInfo); if (hMemStore != IntPtr.Zero) Win32.CertCloseStore(hMemStore, 0); } return hCertCntxt; }

  • Speeding up a search .net 4.0

    - by user231465
Wondering if I can speed up the search. I need to build a functionality that has to be used by many UI screens The one I have got works but I need to make sure I am implementing a fast algoritim if you like It's like an incremental search. User types a word to search for eg const string searchFor = "Guinea"; const char nextLetter = ' ' It looks in the list and returns 2 records "Guinea and Guinea Bissau " User types a word to search for eg const string searchFor = "Gu"; const char nextLetter = 'i' returns 3 results. This is the function but I would like to speed it up. Is there a pattern for this kind of search? class Program { static void Main() { //Find all countries that begin with string + a possible letter added to it //const string searchFor = "Guinea"; //const char nextLetter = ' '; //returns 2 results const string searchFor = "Gu"; const char nextLetter = 'i'; List<string> result = FindPossibleMatches(searchFor, nextLetter); result.ForEach(x=>Console.WriteLine(x)); //returns 3 results Console.Read(); } /// <summary> /// Find all possible matches /// </summary> /// <param name="searchFor">string to search for</param> /// <param name="nextLetter">pretend user as just typed a letter</param> /// <returns></returns> public static List<string> FindPossibleMatches (string searchFor, char nextLetter) { var hashedCountryList = new HashSet<string>(CountriesList()); var result=new List<string>(); IEnumerable<string> tempCountryList = hashedCountryList.Where(x => x.StartsWith(searchFor)); foreach (string item in tempCountryList) { string tempSearchItem; if (nextLetter == ' ') { tempSearchItem = searchFor; } else { tempSearchItem = searchFor + nextLetter; } if(item.StartsWith(tempSearchItem)) { result.Add(item); } } return result; } /// <summary> /// Returns list of countries. /// </summary> public static string[] CountriesList() { return new[] { "Afghanistan", "Albania", "Algeria", "American Samoa", "Andorra", "Angola", "Anguilla", "Antarctica", "Antigua And Barbuda", "Argentina", "Armenia", "Aruba", "Australia", "Austria", "Azerbaijan", "Bahamas", "Bahrain", "Bangladesh", "Barbados", "Belarus", "Belgium", "Belize", "Benin", "Bermuda", "Bhutan", "Bolivia", "Bosnia Hercegovina", "Botswana", "Bouvet Island", "Brazil", "Brunei Darussalam", "Bulgaria", "Burkina Faso", "Burundi", "Byelorussian SSR", "Cambodia", "Cameroon", "Canada", "Cape Verde", "Cayman Islands", "Central African Republic", "Chad", "Chile", "China", "Christmas Island", "Cocos (Keeling) Islands", "Colombia", "Comoros", "Congo", "Cook Islands", "Costa Rica", "Cote D'Ivoire", "Croatia", "Cuba", "Cyprus", "Czech Republic", "Czechoslovakia", "Denmark", "Djibouti", "Dominica", "Dominican Republic", "East Timor", "Ecuador", "Egypt", "El Salvador", "England", "Equatorial Guinea", "Eritrea", "Estonia", "Ethiopia", "Falkland Islands", "Faroe Islands", "Fiji", "Finland", "France", "Gabon", "Gambia", "Georgia", "Germany", "Ghana", "Gibraltar", "Great Britain", "Greece", "Greenland", "Grenada", "Guadeloupe", "Guam", "Guatemela", "Guernsey", "Guiana", "Guinea", "Guinea Bissau", "Guyana", "Haiti", "Heard Islands", "Honduras", "Hong Kong", "Hungary", "Iceland", "India", "Indonesia", "Iran", "Iraq", "Ireland", "Isle Of Man", "Israel", "Italy", "Jamaica", "Japan", "Jersey", "Jordan", "Kazakhstan", "Kenya", "Kiribati", "Korea, South", "Korea, North", "Kuwait", "Kyrgyzstan", "Lao People's Dem. • c# SendMessage and Skype woes

    - by Xcelled194
I'm trying to create an add-on to Skype with C#. I don't want to use Skype4COM, as I'd like the experience with messages and such. Unfortunately, the messages are tripping me up. I've got the pumps and such set up. They all work, and my app successfully sends the "APIDiscover" message to Skype, gets a "PendingAuth" response and then the "AttachSuccess" message. However, when I try to send "ping" to Skype (to which it should reply "pong") nothing happens. The return code from SendMessage is 0 but Marshall.GetLastWin32Error is 1400 (Invalid handle). The handle was returned with the AttachSuccess method. The equivalent C++ code does work, so I'm at a loss. First is the C++ code I'm using as a guide: Here's the (cut down) message pump. You can ignore everything but where I put the //<---- static LRESULT APIENTRY SkypeAPITest_Windows_WindowProc( HWND hWindow, UINT uiMessage, WPARAM uiParam, LPARAM ulParam) { LRESULT lReturnCode; bool fIssueDefProc; lReturnCode=0; fIssueDefProc=false; switch(uiMessage) { case WM_COPYDATA: if( hGlobal_SkypeAPIWindowHandle==(HWND)uiParam ) { PCOPYDATASTRUCT poCopyData=(PCOPYDATASTRUCT)ulParam; printf( "Message from Skype(%u): %.*s\n", poCopyData->dwData, poCopyData->cbData, poCopyData->lpData); lReturnCode=1; } break; default: if( uiMessage==uiGlobal_MsgID_SkypeControlAPIAttach ) { switch(ulParam) { case SKYPECONTROLAPI_ATTACH_SUCCESS: printf("!!! Connected; to terminate issue #disconnect\n"); hGlobal_SkypeAPIWindowHandle=(HWND)uiParam;//<---- Right here is where we receive the handle from Skype. break; } if( fIssueDefProc ) lReturnCode=DefWindowProc( hWindow, uiMessage, uiParam, ulParam); return(lReturnCode); } and this is the (again dumbed down) "sending message" code void __cdecl Global_InputProcessingThread(void *) { static char acInputRow[1024]; bool fProcessed; if( SendMessageTimeout( HWND_BROADCAST, uiGlobal_MsgID_SkypeControlAPIDiscover, (WPARAM)hInit_MainWindowHandle, 0, SMTO_ABORTIFHUNG, 1000, NULL)!=0 ) { while(Global_Console_ReadRow( acInputRow, sizeof(acInputRow)-1)) { if( fProcessed==false && hGlobal_SkypeAPIWindowHandle!=NULL ) { COPYDATASTRUCT oCopyData; // send command to skype oCopyData.dwData=0; oCopyData.lpData=acInputRow; oCopyData.cbData=strlen(acInputRow)+1; if( oCopyData.cbData!=1 ) { if( SendMessage( hGlobal_SkypeAPIWindowHandle, WM_COPYDATA, (WPARAM)hInit_MainWindowHandle, (LPARAM)&oCopyData)==FALSE ) { hGlobal_SkypeAPIWindowHandle=NULL; printf("!!! Disconnected\n"); } } } } } SendMessage( hInit_MainWindowHandle, WM_CLOSE, 0, 0); SetEvent(hGlobal_ThreadShutdownEvent); fGlobal_ThreadRunning=false; } And now here's my C# public bool PreFilterMessage(ref Message m) { Console.WriteLine(m.ToString()); if (m.Msg == WM_COPYDATA && SkypeAPIWindowHandle == m.WParam) { SkypeMessage(m); return true; } if (m.Msg == MsgApiAttach) { switch (m.LParam.ToInt32()) { case (int)SkypeControlAPIAttach.SUCCESS: SkypeAPIWindowHandle = m.WParam; //Here's where we set the Skype Handle AttachSuccess(m); return true; } } return false; //Defer all other messages } And here is my DLL import and Sending code [DllImport("user32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = false)] static extern IntPtr SendMessageA(IntPtr hWnd, UInt32 Msg, IntPtr wParam, ref MsgHelper.COPYDATASTRUCT lParam); public static void Command(string c) { if (c.Last() != '\0') c += "\0"; //Make string null terminated Console.WriteLine(); MsgHelper.COPYDATASTRUCT cda = new MsgHelper.COPYDATASTRUCT(); cda.dwData = new IntPtr(0); cda.lpData = c; cda.cbData = c.Length + 1; Marshal.GetLastWin32Error(); //Clear last error Console.WriteLine(SendMessageA(mHelper.SkypeAPIWindowHandle, MsgHelper.WM_COPYDATA, IntPtr.Zero, ref cda)); Console.WriteLine(Marshal.GetLastWin32Error()); } COPYDATASTRUCT is: public struct COPYDATASTRUCT { public IntPtr dwData; public int cbData; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr)] public string lpData; } I think that's everything. Let me know if I forgot something. Any ideas why I'm getting the 1400?

  • Incremental PCA

    - by smichak
Hi, Lately, I've been looking into an implementation of an incremental PCA algorithm in python - I couldn't find something that would meet my needs so I did some reading and implemented an algorithm I found in some paper. Here is the module's code - the relevant paper on which it is based is mentioned in the module's documentation. I would appreciate any feedback from people who are interested in this. Micha #!/usr/bin/env python """ Incremental PCA calculation module. Based on P.Hall, D. Marshall and R. Martin "Incremental Eigenalysis for Classification" which appeared in British Machine Vision Conference, volume 1, pages 286-295, September 1998. Principal components are updated sequentially as new observations are introduced. Each new observation (x) is projected on the eigenspace spanned by the current principal components (U) and the residual vector (r = x - U(U.T*x)) is used as a new principal component (U' = [U r]). The new principal components are then rotated by a rotation matrix (R) whose columns are the eigenvectors of the transformed covariance matrix (D=U'.T*C*U) to yield p + 1 principal components. From those, only the first p are selected. • Generating a drop down list of timezones with PHP

    - by Xeoncross
Most sites need some way to show the dates on the site in the users preferred timezone. Below are two lists that I found and then one method using the built in PHP DateTime class in PHP 5. I need help knowing which of these would be the best to attempt to use when trying to get the UTC offset from the user on register. One: <option value="-12">[UTC - 12] Baker Island Time</option> <option value="-11">[UTC - 11] Niue Time, Samoa Standard Time</option> <option value="-10">[UTC - 10] Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time, Cook You could also flip that array around when needed to tie timezones to city names.
