  • VLAN trunking between Juniper EX -> Cisco Catalyst -> and Cisco Router

    I have the following scenario: EX2200 Switch whit ge-0/0/6 set as an access port on VLAN 80 ge-0/0/0 set as a trunk port connected to a catalyst switch and various vlans allowed to pass includin vlan 80 On the Catalyst Switch. port #3 set up as a trunk port that receives traffic from the EX switch. port 46 is set up also as a trunk port that connects to a cisco router. Port #48 is where the host used to be connected host - EX2200 - Catalyst - Router the problem is that this EX2200 is a new addition to the network and the host connected previosly to the catalyst switch. traffic is not getting from the host to the router, but the router can send ARP request to the host. following is the relevant configuration: Catalyst Switch: interface GigabitEthernet1/46 switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q switchport trunk allowed vlan 80,82,83,93,289 switchport mode trunk mtu 1532 media-type rj45 speed 1000 duplex full arp timeout 300 ! interface GigabitEthernet1/48 switchport access vlan 80 switchport mode access mtu 1532 media-type rj45 speed 100 duplex full arp timeout 300 no cdp enable !   • Email flow problem in Exchange 2003

    Hello colleagues, I have a problem whit some emails that are not being delivered to the user inbox. The SMTP server on the DMZ that receives email from the internet is a Symantec Brigthmail Gateway, this server reports that the message was delivered normally to the exchange server: The DMZ server forwars the incoming mail to the exchange server that is on the LAN segment, and the message tracking on the exchange server reports the email being submited to the advanced queue: I have done severals searches on google, without any luck. have any one of you guys experienced similar problems?   • DNS is resolving fine but can't access the server (unless changing /etc/hosts)

    Hi all, I have a VPS server with a public IP, I added some A entries in my name server like svn.example.com - 1.1.1.1 Also I added some entries in my workstation /etc/hosts file in order to work with the domains meanwhile the DNSs were refreshed. It's been around 3 days from this and I configures everything in my server (using the hosts file), the DNSs are ready and I removed the entries but for my surprise I can access the servers nor anything in my domain or sub-domains (even a ping doesn't work). I've triple checked and the DNSs are OK. I don't know too much about DNSs . Any help would be appreciated. The IP address of my VPS is 74.63.223.43 I have these domain names, all pointing to the same IP (using A entries) hartoingenio.com www.hartoingenio.com svn.hartoingenio.com

  • Hosted file is downloaded damaged by IE

    I have a ZIP file hosted via Apache with Akamai as CDN, the problem is when trying to download it with IE (and just IE) it is damaged and I'm unable to open it. Since the problem occurs in other computers in different locations I've discarded network settings (firewall, proxy, etc). I don't even know where start to look? What would be a possible cause for this to happen? UPDATE I'm trying to solve the problem in the server (or CDN), I've verified it's not a client error

    Im new using KVM as a virtualization solution. Currently I'm using VirtualBox to manage my virtual machines in my personal computer, but I'm moving my virtualization to a Server, so I set up a Linux server with KVM. And now I'm trying to import a virtualBox vm to KVM. So far I couldn't make it work. I already convert the ova file from VirtualBox to a format more familiar to KVM (qcow2), and I try to create a new virtual machine using virt-install command and setting the new virtual machine hard drive with the .qcow2 file. There is anyone could help me? thank you!

  • Configure bash_profile for one single terminal emulator

    I'm using a new terminal emulator. Terminology is the E17 default terminal, and it have a great command, $ tyls with is a "graphical" $ ls I want to create an alias just for this terminal, because the command "tyls" don't make sense to konsole, rxvt or other terminals. I'm thinking in some kind of "if" in ~/.bash_profile to test if I'm on terminology and then run the following command: alias ls="tyls" But how can I test if I'm in terminology but not xterm? Can someone help me? Thanks!

    How costly (CPU or memory wise) is it to have multiple instances of SQL server 2005 instead of only one instance with prefixed databases? A company have three application providers. They each will install one application and they each require two or three databases. Should they all use the same instance or should every provider use it's own named instance? Is there any strong reason for one or other setup?

    On my Red Hat server, the sshd will not accept my correct certificate login. However, If i start another sshd on another port, it works!     Have a centos 6.3 box running on Parallels and I'm trying to open port 80 to be accesible from outside tried the gui solution from this post and it works, but I need to get it done from a script.     With a Gmail [email protected] address, you'll also receive email sent to [email protected] addresses, very handy for creating filters. I often [email protected] when signing up to websites, so if I end up getting lots of spam sent to that address, I know who to blame. But what's a good way to find a list of all username+anything@ addresses in my Gmail spam folder? I'd prefer to do this within the web client if possible. Next best is using external client such as Outlook or Opera mail but without having to download lots of mail if possible. I don't really want to download spam emails.

  • Linux as a gateway (no NAT)

    I'm trying to configure a linux server as a gateway/router, but I can't get it to work, and all information I've managed to find is NAT-related. I have a public IP block for the gateway and devices behind it, so I want the gateway to simply route packets to the internet - again: no NATing! I've managed to get the gateway to access the internet successfully (that was just a matter of configuring the IP and GW), and the computers behind it can communicate with it. [EDIT: more info] This is actually an IPv6 block (2800:40:403::0/48) (but I've found that most utilities and instructions can be easily adapted from IPv4 to IPv6 with little hastle). The server has too ports: wan: 2800:40:403::1/48 lan: 2800:40:403::3/48 One of the computers behind it is connected to it via a switch; 2800:40:403::7/48 The wan interface on the server can ping6 www.google.com without issues. The lan interface on the server and the client can mutually ping each other without issues (as well as SSH, etc). I've tried setting the server as a default gateway for the client, with no luck: client # route -A inet6 add default gw 2800:40:403::3 dev eth1 server # cat /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/forwarding 1 I don't want any filtering/firewalling/etc, just plain routing.   • Secure filesharing protocol for fileserver

    I'm setting up a fileserver, and I want lots of clients to easily access it. Up to now I've always used SSHFS to share between different PCs, but since I'm setting up a single fileserver, I'm looking for other common alternatives. Up to now I've seen: AFS: It seems it has no security, traffic is unencrypted, so it would require an SSH tunnel. If I'm to use SSH, I'd just use SSHFS. NFS: Same as above. Also, setting up the server is not so straighforward, it doesn't seem to be KISS enough - at least not for my liking. SMB: Same as AFS. It also seems not to be too well documented, and technically, seems a bit poor. It also seems the protocol isn't formally standardized. SSHFS has security, but as a downside, requieres every user to have an account on the server - there's no way to make a certain directory PUBLIC either. I don't think it has locking, and isn't very fault-tolerant. Are there any alternatives I've missing?

    Hi I think even if we will not need interoperability between applications, and even we do not communicate with web services, it is easier to serialize using SoapFormatter than XmlSerializer because SOAP will serialize the private members by default, while XmlSerializer will work on public properties and fields. actually I cannot find a reason for using XmlSerializer, do I miss something? what is disadvantages of SoapFormatter. or what is advantage of XML serialization over Soap? For instance: Lunch with Mike at 11:30 on Tuesday or 5pm Happy hour on Friday I've found some promising leads like https://jchronic.dev.java.net/ and http://www.datejs.com/ which can parse dates - but I also need to be able to extract the title of the event like "Lunch with Mike". If such an API doesn't exist, I'm also interested in any thoughts on how best to approach the problem from a coding perspective.
