  • Computer wakes itself few seconds after hibernation

    Hi all, this is the situation, this is a Dell Optiplex 755, I recently upgraded it to Windows 7 64 bits, it had Windows XP SP3 previously, on XP I never had a problem hibernating the PC, now with Windows 7 64 every time I hibernate the PC it wakes it self after 5 or so seconds. Here are the steps I already tried: On Windows 7 I enabled the hibernation following this steps In the MoBo the sleep settings are on S3 In the Mobo I disable remote wake ups I have disabled the remote wake up in the NIC When I run the lastwake command I get unknown device or something like that I already disable the wake timers on Windows I have the latest drivers from Intel, but I just found out that in the device Manager I get a warning sign on the "Intel AMT SOL (COM3)" device saying that it failed and windows stopped the device, I reinstalled the Intel drivers but nothing changed. The only thing that I haven't touch is Intel ME in the MoBo but I don't if that could help and what settings are correct. Thanks for you help.

  • windows printer spool gets stuck with file at 64kb from linux and mac

    Hi I have two printers one on a file server with windows 2003, and other with windows XP. The thing is that when i try to print from my machine, my file stays in queue for ever, it says 64kb out of whatever the file i send. I have seen similar problems with some machines that run on Mac OS X. The windows machines apparently have no problems printing. They are not connect through active directory, just the network. In the past I have seen people install non microsoft windows Printer server on windows, i dont remember the name of any of the programs. I have being googling a lot and have not found anything to replace the microsoft print spooler service, maybe i am mistaken. Everyday I have to restart the print spooler service i even created a bat file for it. I am out of ideas here.

  • Library conflict in Mac OS X

    I was trying to install the ImageMagick library on Mac OS X Snow Leopard, and first I tried port and, after it failed, homebrew. It updated some dependencies and installed ImageMagick without problems. So far so good. The problem came when I ran Apache. I got the following error in the system log: 07/04/11 12:55:15 org.apache.httpd[41841] httpd: Syntax error on line 115 of /private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Cannot load /opt/local/apache2/modules/libphp5.so into server: dlopen(/opt/local/apache2/modules/libphp5.so, 10): Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libpng12.0.dylib\n Referenced from: /opt/local/apache2/modules/libphp5.so\n Reason: image not found I checked the /opt/local/lib and surprise! I don't have the libpng12.0 but the libpng14.0. So, as far as I can tell, something went wrong installing the ImageMagick library. Now, I can't find a way to rollback to the previous libraries, other than copying them from the backup. Do you know if is there a way to recover the previous state or reinstall Apache? Or is this just a corrupt state and I must reinstall OS X?

  • Getting "is not a valid mailbox" when email sent to primary address

    Anyone outside my domain who sends me an email is getting a bounced email with the following error from Exchange: 550 550 5.1.1 [email protected] is not a valid mailbox (state 14). I can't receive emails from external addresses until I send an email to one of my secondary addresses. Once I sent it to my secondary address, my primary address will start working for a while and fail again after a few hours. We use Exchange 2003. Anyone has any suggestions on what to try?

  • Resource consumption of FreeBSD's jails

    Just for curiosity. An example machine: an dedicated amd64 server with the last stable version of FreeBSD and UFS for the partitions. How much resources consume FreeBSD for each empty jail? I mean, I don't want know what is the resource consumption of a jailed server or whatever, just the overhead of each jail. I'm especially interested on CPU, memory and IO. For a few jails the overhead is negligible but imagine a server with 100 jails.

  • Intel HD 4000 and Nvidia GT 650 working together on laptop

    My new win7 Acer notebook has i5 CPU with Intel HD 4000 and Nvida GT650 GPU. Obviously monitor is plugged to Intel HD. In Nvidia control panel I can configure PhysX but that doesn't help. Windows system rating shows high gaming experience and average/low windows aero experience. What does that mean? Does my laptop use nvidia for games/3d apps nad Intel HD 4000 for aero? Should I disable Intel HD in bios, but how to plug monitor to nvidia? Or should I leave everything like now because everything works as it suppose to work?     Let's say I have a table with the following columns: Employees Table employeeID int employeeName varchar(50) managerID int totalOrganization int managerID is referential to employeeID. totalOrganization is currently 0 for all records. I'd like to update totalOrganization on each row to the total number of employees under them.   • Proper reconstitution of Aggregate objects in the Repository?

    Assuming that no ORM (e.g. Doctrine) is used inside the Repository, my question is what is the proper way of instantiating the Aggregate objects? Is it instantiating the child objects directly inside the Repository and just assign it to the Aggregate Root through its setters or the Aggregate Root is responsible of constructing its child entities/objects? Example 1: class UserRepository { // Create user domain entity. $user = new User(); $user->setName('Juan'); // Create child object orders entity. $orders = new Orders($orders); $user->setOrders($orders); } Example 2: class UserRepository { // Create user domain entity. $user = new User(); $user->setName('Juan'); // Get orders. $orders = $ordersDao->findByUser(1); $user->setOrders($orders); } whereas in example 2, instantiation of orders are taken care inside the user entity.

    I'm working with: seam 2.2.2 + hibernate + richfaces + jboss 5.1 + postgres I have an module which needs to load some data from the database. Easy. The problem is, on development it works fine, 100%, but when I deploy on my production server and try to get the data, an error rise: could not read column value from result set: fechahor9_504_; Bad value for type timestamp : [C@122e5cf SQL Error: 0, SQLState: 22007 Bad value for type timestamp : [C@122e5cf javax.persistence.PersistenceException: org.hibernate.exception.DataException: could not execute query [more errors] Caused by: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: Bad value for type timestamp : [C@122e5cf at org.postgresql.jdbc2.TimestampUtils.loadCalendar(TimestampUtils.java:232) [more errors] Caused by: java.lang.NumberFormatException: Trailing junk on timestamp: '' at org.postgresql.jdbc2.TimestampUtils.loadCalendar(TimestampUtils.java:226) I can't understand why it works on my machine (development) and why not on production.   • Initial selected Item in an UITabBar without a UITabBarController

    Hello, How do I set the default selected UITabBarItem in an UITabBar that is within an UIView, not an UITabBarController? Just to clarify, the UIView does implement the protocol and the didSelectItem method works. At run-time, the tabbar works and the tabbaritems selected when the user touches them. My problem is setting the default selected item. If i use [myTabbar setSelectedItem] within the didSelectItem method it works. But outside of it, it doesn't (for example, in the viewDidLoad method of my UIView). Thanks!

  • How to set the mechanize page encoding?

    Hi, I'm trying to get a page with an ISO-8859-1 encoding clicking on a link, so the code is similar to this: page_result = page.link_with( :text => 'link_text' ).click So far I get the result with a wrong encoding, so I see characters like: 'T?tulo:' instead of 'Título:' I've tried several approaches, including: Stating the encoding in the first request using the agent like: @page_search = @agent.get( :url => 'http://www.server.com', :headers => { 'Accept-Charset' => 'ISO-8859-1' } ) Stating the encoding for the page itself page_result.encoding = 'ISO-8859-1' But I must be doing something wrong: a simple puts always show the wrong characters. Do you know how to state the encoding?     Hi everybody I am developing an application to process geophysical signals; Right now I have done everything in octave and its digital signal processing toolbox, speed is not bad, however the application specifications say I need to port to the final algorithm to C; I am doing lots of filtering, re-sampling and signal manipulation/characterization with FFTs and cepstrums. do you know a good free C library for DSP packaged with filter design, resampling, fft, etc?   • Why doesn't genstrings convert NSLocalizedStringFromTable entries to table.strings?

    In my source code I have some lines like NSLocalizedStringFromTable(@"Info", @"en", @"Title of this view"). When I subsequently call genstrings -o en.lproj ./Classes/*.m I would not get the expected file en.strings but Localized.strings, although I've read in the genstrings-manpage that it would generate a table.strings file from NSLocalizedStringFromTable(a, table, c) function. Am I wrong? How would I create a table.strings file then?

    Hi, We have a web application running in a production enviroment and at some point the client complained about how slow the application got. When we checked what was going on with the application and the database we discover this "precious" query that was being executed by several users at the same time (thus inflicting an extremely high load on the database server): SELECT NULL AS table_cat, o.owner AS table_schem, o.object_name AS table_name, o.object_type AS table_type, NULL AS remarks FROM all_objects o WHERE o.owner LIKE :1 ESCAPE :"SYS_B_0" AND o.object_name LIKE :2 ESCAPE :"SYS_B_1" AND o.object_type IN(:"SYS_B_2", :"SYS_B_3") ORDER BY table_type, table_schem, table_name Our application does not execute this query, I believe it is an Hibernate internal query. I've found little information on why Hibernate does this extremely heavy query, so any help in how to avoid it very much appreciated! The production enviroment information: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 (Tikanga), JDK 1.5, web container OC4J (whitin Oracle Application Server), Oracle Database 10.1.0.4, JDBC Driver for JDK 1.2 and 1.3, Hibernate version 3.2.6.ga, connection pool library C3P0 version 0.9.1.   • Pass a variable to a Symfony Form

    Hi, I am building a web application using Symfony 1.4 and Doctrine for a school and I want to make a very simple form to add a course to a student. The main problem I have is that in the drop down list I only want to show the courses in which the student is currently not enrolled. I already have a function in the model (in Student.class.php) which returns all the courses in which the student is not enrolled but the problem is I don't know how to pass the student to the configure() of the form. I have tried several options like passing it with the constructor of the form to a global variable or a special set method but none of them have worked. Is there any form to pass the student to the configure() method? Thanks!

  • Android fragments problems different layouts

    I have two layouts: one for portait with one container and another for landscape with two containers.   • How can I pause a BackgroundWorker? Or something similar...

    I was using a BackgroundWorker to download some web sites by calling WebClient.DownloadString inside a loop. I wanted the option for the user to cancel in the middle of downloading stuff, so I called CancelAsync whenever I found that CancellationPending was on in the middle of the loop. But now I noticed that the function DownloadString kinda freezes sometimes, so I decided to use DownloadStringAsync instead (all this inside the other thread created with BackgroundWorker). An since and don't want to rewrite my whole code by having to exit the loop and the function after calling DownloadStringAsync, I made a while loop right after calling it that does nothing but checks for a variable bool Stop that I turn true either when the DownloadStringCompleted event handler is called or when the user request to cancel the operation. Now, the weird thing is that it works fine on the debug version, but on the release one, the program freezes in the while loop like if it were the main thread.
