  • Failure retrieving contents of directory

    Currently I have a couple of websites. My problem is that if I login on 1 specific domain with any of my programs (using notepadd++, FileZilla and Netbeans) the program stops at the content listing. I had it correctly running, (I'm working on a project on this domain for more than a year now) and suddenly I broke it somehow. This only happens on 1 specific domain, all other domains (from other hosts) are working. My colleague (next to me with same ip address) is able to login on this domain. Notepadd++ says: Failure retrieving contents of directory Filezilla says: Failed to retrieve directory listing Netbean popups: Upload files on save failed. (Because I have the setting upload on save enabled.) What I tried: First I thought it's my firewall, I disabled firewall but no result. Also notice that all other domain are working. Maby a blacklist with my ip address? No my colleague has the same ip address. Could anyone help me on this?     I know that it has been a long time since my last post, just though that I would update you my latest thoughts of Governance. I just recently completed an executive round table series on EA and Cloud in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. The response was phenomenal. The key point of the session was that Enterprise is the key enabler of innovation - All companies want to drive to be market leaders, EA can lay the foundation for the path to deliver that at innovation. When it comes to innovation, I see two distinct types: (a) Passive innovation is where a company creates innovation thought increments improvement over time. A great example is when airlines went from paper tickets to electronic ticket. Next logical progression is to do the same with boarding passes. There are a lot of examples to choose from, thought the thing to keep in mind, is that passive innovation will only keep you in the lead, it won’t allow you to create new markets or jump from #3 to #1 in one go. For that we need another type of innovation. (b) Disruptive innovation is where you create market where none existed before. Thought very difficult to do and requires significant investment in research, product and software development and not least of all, visionary thinking and timing, if done correctly, can turn the world on it’s ear. A great example is Apple iTunes. Some might say that this is incremental innovation, but only in one aspect, the downloading of music. Other then that, it’s all disruptive innovation. Being able to buy a single song rather then the album fundamentally changed the way we get out music. Behind all of these types of innovation is Enterprise Architecture. EA creates the infrastructure foundation, then delivery systems and the end-user experience to deliver this innovation. At Oracle, we are driving that EA innovation with our private cloud offerings from “bolt-to-glass” as I like to say.     Maybe it is off-topic for programmers.SE, but don't know where else to ask, and I trust my fellow programmers :) I've recently being lightly following new 3D technologies and I thought that glass-free 3D TV was about to take over the scene since it make much more sense to TVs (I can't imagine having glasses for all the family, kids breaking them, etc) But it seems that I'm wrong, since LG, Sony and Samsumg keep fighting over glasses (active-passive) What is the current and future status in 3D technology for TVs?

  • Forcing Zeitgeist to index Dropbox folder

    I am running Ubuntu 11.10, and I would like to force Zeitgeist to index my Dropbox folder. I understand that Zeitgeist is a passive service that logs particular events (such as opening or downloading files) for later searches, but I have large Dropbox folder that was downloaded without being logged by Zeitgeist. Short of manually opening and closing all files in my Dropbox folder, is there a way to have Zeitgeist index this folder so that I can later search it using the dash? Thanks!

  • As an Indie iOS Developer, is it more profitable to market apps heavily or focus on publishing more apps? [closed]

    At first I thought that if I made a bunch of $0.99 apps that were all pretty nice that they would eventually start to make me some decent passive income. However, after publishing five $0.99 applications in the the Apple App Store, I'm finding that I make around $5/day, which is basically nothing. Should I invest time into creating an even better app, hire a designer, spend money on PR and marketing, and then keep spending time updating/managing that app? Or should I continue to produce more applications solo?

    i have a squid proxy server for both, http and ftp connections, i'm trying to use filezilla to open a ftp, but it always fail with an error saying: Status: Connection with proxy established, performing handshake...   • Best practice for Exchange 2010 HA topology considering 6 x Exchange licenses and TMG 2010

    What would be best topology considering that: 6 x Exchange 2010 Standard Licenses 2 x Separate locations that are supposed to support redundancy in case of link problems 4 x Forefront TMG 2010 with Forefront Security and Forefront Protection/Security Multiple locations worldwide using those Exchange. Most locations will be connected with VPN Tunnel (the ones hosting Exchange for sure). I was thinking something like this: Location MAIN (about 70-100 people): 2x TMG 2010 in NLB 1x Exchange 2010 CAS/HUB Role 2x Exchange 2010 Mailbox Role (Active + Passive) Location SUPPORT (about 20 people): 2x TMG 2010 in NLB 1x Exchange 2010 CAS/HUB Role 2x Exchange 2010 Mailbox Role (Active + Passive) Management wants to make sure that in case of problems in main location (power failure, link loss etc) second location can support all traffic from around the world and vice-versa. We have 6-7 locations and more comming up (not big ones but like 10+ people per each location). I do know that CAS/HUB is single point of failure (and no NLB), but i simply lack more licenses to do some redundancy on that. What do you think about this approach? What would be better approach according to you?

  • Launching Installer Via Powershell and WinRM and Nothing Happens

    I'm currently working on a Powershell script to run some Microsoft Hotfix installers remotely on several Windows Server 2008 R2 servers that I manage. Basically, the script copies all the appropriate files up to the server, and then runs the installer via Invoke-Command, like so: function InstallCU { Write-Host "Installing June 2013 CU..." Invoke-Command -ComputerName $ServerName -ScriptBlock { Start-Process "c:\aaa\prjcusp2\ubersrvprj2010-kb2817530-fullfile-x64-glb.exe" -ArgumentList "/passive" } } If I run the "Start-Process" command locally on the server, the installer runs properly. However, when trying to run it remotely, nothing happens (actually, I can see the installer start up in Task Manager, but it closes a couple seconds later and doesn't run). I've attempted giving the Invoke-Command -Credentials, I've turned off UAC on the server, and I've ensured that my WinRM settings (running 'winrm quickconfig' and setting TrustedHosts to *) are correct. I've also tried having the Invoke-Command script run a local Powershell script to run the installer and changing the Argument from '/passive' to 'quiet' (in case it can't remotely launch something that has a UI), but again, no dice. Is there anything else I can try, or am I just not going to be able to do this?

  • Cisco router not receiving OSPF updates

    Or at least, that's what I think is happening. There doesn't appear to be a debug command for this, or to see if something is in the routing table. I'm testing out this setup in Packet Tracer. I have 3 routers and a webserver From left to right, you have: Webserver - Router1 - Router2 - Router3 Router1 and Router2 can succesfully ping WebServer. Router3 cannot. Router2 has a default gateway set, to send all not-recognized data through its serial interface to Router1. Like this: ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Serial 0/0/1 Serial 0/0/1 being the connection to Router1 Router2 and Router3 have OSPF configured. From their "show run": Router2: router ospf 1 log-adjacency-changes passive-interface Serial0/0/1 network 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.3 area 0 default-information originate ! Router3: router ospf 1 log-adjacency-changes network 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.3 area 0 passive-interface FastEthernet0/0 ! I was under the assumption that setting default-information originate on Router2 would give Router3 the needed information. What's going wrong here? The interfaces are up. Ip addresses are with mask-range, clock rate is set at correct end. I don't know what else to check.

  • unable to destroy windows 2008 r2 failover cluster after SAN rebuild

    I created a windows 2008 r2 failover cluster for a sql 2008 active/passive cluster. This two node cluster was using a SAN device for a quorum disk resource as well as MSDTC resource. Well....I decided to reconfigure the SAN device, but I didn't destroy the cluster first. Now that the quorum disk and mstdc disk are completely gone, the cluster is obviously not working. But, I can't even destroy the cluster and start again. I've tried from the Windows Clustering tool, as well as the command line. I was able to get the cluster service to start using the "/fixquorum" parameter. After doing this I was able to remove the passive node from the cluster, but it wouldn't let me destroy the cluster because the default resource group and msdtc are still attached as resources. I tried to delete these resources from both the GUI tool, as well as command line. It will either freeze for several minutes and crash the program, or once it even BSOD'd the server. Can someone advise on how to destroy this cluster so I can start over?

  • Firebox 1250e Core Failing?

    We have 2 Firebox 1250e Core firewall boxes in our production environment, serving as an active and passive mode. A few months back, the active box was flashing a warning light, so our consultant removed it, and plugged it in to a test network. Everything appeared to be working fine, so he reloaded it into the production environment, and we didn't see any other issues. Fast forward to last week, and out network was constantly dropping connections over RDC, timing out, and performing as if there was a traffic issue. I turned off the production box and everything began to work fine immediately. At this point though, I'm not sure how to proceed. Should the box be completely replaced? Is there any recommended testing we could do to determine if there is a failure of some type with this device? Should we try upgrading the software on it? I know the environment isn't the issue, since the passive box (which is now the active one) is working fine. We'd like to have 2 in production though for safety failover purposes. I am not a network admin, but am hoping someone here might be able to provide some guidance.

  • Maintain order of messages via proxies to app servers

    Hi, I am receiving messages from a 3rd party via a http post, and it is important that the order the messages hit our infrastructure is maintained through the load balancers and proxies until it hits our application server. Quick Diagram. (proxies in place due to security requirements.) [ACE load balancer] - [2 proxies] - [Application Servers] or maybe [ACE load balancer] - [2 proxies] - [ACE load balancer] - [Application Servers] My idea was that I would setup the load balancers in active-passive mode, to force all messages to use one proxy, and then both the proxies would hit a second load balancer that would be configured in active passive to hit one application server. Whilst the above is not ideal, it does give me resilience, and once the message is in my app servers, I enter a stateless world, and load balance across both nodes of my cluster. However, I am concerned that even a single proxy could send messages out of order, perhaps if 2 messages are recived very close together, message 2 might get processed faster than message 1. Is this possible? Likely? Is there a simple open source proxy (MOD_PROXY?) that can be easily configured to just pass messages through it, and to guarantee to send the messages through in the order they are received. If so which, and finally links to how I should configure it would be great. In fact any links to articles around avoiding "out of order" messages using hardware would be gratefully received. Thanks, ps for those that are interested, the app is a java spring integration application currently on a appliation server.

  • SQLAlchemy DetachedInstanceError with regular attribute (not a relation)

    I just started using SQLAlchemy and get a DetachedInstanceError and can't find much information on this anywhere. I am using the instance outside a session, so it is natural that SQLAlchemy is unable to load any relations if they are not already loaded, however, the attribute I am accessing is not a relation, in fact this object has no relations at all. I found solutions such as eager loading, but I can't apply to this because this is not a relation. I even tried "touching" this attribute before closing the session, but it still doesn't prevent the exception. What could be causing this exception for a non-relational property even after it has been successfully accessed once before? Any help in debugging this issue is appreciated. I will meanwhile try to get a reproducible stand-alone scenario and update here.   • Trying to Use LoadMoreElement in Monotouch.Dialog

    I am using Monotouch to write an Ipad app. The app uses tables to browse down through a directory tree and then select a file. I have used Monotouch.Dialog to browse the directories and I set up the directory tables as the app starts.However there are too many files to set up in a table as the app starts and so I want to set up the 'file table' as the file is selected from the lowest level directory table. I am trying to use LoadMoreElement to do this but I cannot make it work or find any examples online. I have coded the 'Elements API Walkthrough' in the Xamarin tutorial at:- http://docs.xamarin.com/ios/tutorials/MonoTouch.Dialog I then add a new section to the code:- _addButton.Clicked += (sender, e) => { ++n; var task = new Task{Name = "task " + n, DueDate = DateTime.Now}; var taskElement = new RootElement (task.Name){ new Section () { new EntryElement (task.Name, "Enter task description", task.Description) }, new Section () { new DateElement ("Due Date", task.DueDate) }, new Section() { new LoadMoreElement("Passive","Active", delegate {MyAction();}) } }; _rootElement [0].Add (taskElement); Where MyAction is:- public void MyAction() { Console.WriteLine ("we have been actioned"); } The problem is that MyAction is triggered and Console.Writeline writes the message but the table stays in the active state and never returns to passive. the documentation says:- Once your code in the NSAction is finished, the UIActivity indicator stops animating and the normal caption is displayed again.   • WCF service consuming passively issued SAML token

    What is the best way to pass an existing SAML token from a website already authenticated via a passive STS? We have built an Identity Provider which is issuing passive claims to the website for authentication. We have this working. Now we would like to add some WCF services into the mix - calling them from the context of the already authenticated web application. Ideally we would just like to pass the SAML token on without doing anything to it (i.e. adding new claims / re-signing). All of the examples I have seen require the ActAs sts implementation - but is this really necessary? This seems a bit bloated for what we want to achieve. I would have thought a simple implementation passing the bootstrap token into the channel - using the CreateChannelActingAs or CreateChannelWithIssuedToken mechanism (and setting ChannelFactory.Credentials.SupportInteractive = false) to call the WCF service with the correct binding (what would that be?) would have been enough. We are using the Fabrikam example code as reference, but as I say, think the ActAs functionality here is overkill for what we are trying to achieve.

    Does anyone have any experience setting up a high availability two node Linux cluster using heartbeat (linux-ha.org) and NetApp storage (preferably using SnapDrive for Linux)? Basically I would like to mount the same NetApp LUN over Fibre Channel to two servers in an Active/Passive mode (only one server can access the LUN at a time) Thanks!
