  • Problem designing google maps app in the application

    I have seen the tutorial provided to display google maps here... http://developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/views/hello-mapview.html. But sadly when i try to extend MapActivity instead of Activity the whole program is getting ruined and showing errors starting from onCreate... Whats the solution and how could i get google maps working in my application???

    From what I understand, SWIG is to wrap C++/C to make it appear in Java, and javah is to implement certain java functions in C++ ( aka native functions ). Is there a tool which can create a C++ wrapper over a java class, so that the caller. of this c++ wrapper doesn't have to worry about java, for example Input Java is class hw { public void hi() { System.out.println("Hello World"); } } Tools outputs hw.hh ( and some. c++ files ), which can be used as: hw *h = new hw(/*JEnv */ env); h-hi(); Is there a tool available which can do this ?

  • disallow anonymous bind in openldap

    Folks, I have followed the instructions here http://tuxnetworks.blogspot.com/2010/06/howto-ldap-server-on-1004-lucid-lynx.html to setup my OpenLdap and its working just fine, except an anonymous user can bind to my server and see the whole user/group structure. LDAP is running over SSL. I have read online that i can add disallow bind_anon and require authc in the slapd.conf file and it will be disabled but there is no slapd.conf file to begin with and since this doesn't use slapd.conf for its configuration as i understand OpenLdap has moved to a cn=config setup so it wont read that file even if i create one. i have looked online without any luck. I believe i need to change something in here olcAccess: to attrs=userPassword by dn="cn=admin,dc=tuxnetworks,dc=com" write by anonymous auth by self write by * none olcAccess: to attrs=shadowLastChange by self write by * read olcAccess: to dn.base="" by * read olcAccess: to * by dn="cn=admin,dc=tuxnetworks,dc=com" write by * read but i am not sure what.     Hello all, When I use the Microsoft equation editor, if I have a word that is greater than 10 characters in length, the equation editor automatically breaks the word and puts spaces in between them when the object is embedded in a powerpoint slide. For example- If I have the word "automatically" in the equation editor, it shows up just fine when I am editing the text in the equation editor. But when I update this object to the powerpoint slide, it shows up as "automatica lly". There is a tab or 5 spaces between "automcatica" and "lly". Is there any way to solve this problem?     On starting up Ubuntu, I seem to have to do the following, all the time: Enter the password for the keyring to unlock, so that it connects to wifi Enable the "Extra" Visual effects from the Appearances preferences Start skype. How can I automate all of these. Bonus points, if I can use the existing chat bundled in the system to use my skype account. Also, since I dual boot, I get the grub options initially to select Windows or Ubuntu that waits for 10 seconds for me to choose. How do I make it go to ubuntu, unless I explicitly not press a key to boot to windows. Thanks in advance.

  • AWS Autoscaling issue with existing nodes in ELB

    I already have a ELB setup called MyLoadBalancer. I already have 2 nodes running on it with health checks (that checks a URL on the node to see if they are up) Created an autoscaling group (min 2, Max 10) Associated launchconfig mylaunchconfig that provisions a node using an AMI Created a trigger, that checks for avg min connections of 100 and Max of 500 (checks the load balancer and it is support to increase the node count by 1, if avg connections are 500 and decrease by one if less than 100) as-create-or-update-trigger MyTrigger --auto-scaling-group MyAutoScalingGroup --namespace "AWS/ELB" --measure RequestCount --statistic Average --dimensions "LoadBalancerName=MyLoadBalancer" --period 60 --lower-threshold 500 --upper-threshold 800 --lower-breach-increment=-1 --upper-breach-increment=1 --breach-duration 600 Now the issue is, as soon as I put in the trigger, it start 2 nodes .... but there are already two nodes in the LB. So, why is it provisioning 2 more nodes, when the nodes are there ? is it because it is not recognizing the existing 2 nodes ? then how do I add the existing nodes to the AutoScaling group ?

    Hello, I am running runstats command to update the runtime statistics of a particular table called "CUSTOMER" in DB2. The customer has two columns- CID (integer) and INFO (xml column). After running the command, if I look into the SYSCOLDIST table, the information for column CID is populated correctly. But there is nothing filled for the INFO xml column. The same happens with a different table that has xml columns. Please help.. Thanks, -Keshav

    I have some apache logs to process, and since the webserver behind two levels of reverse proxies, I am getting two IPs in the X-Forwarded-For header.. for example: 208.34.234.55, 127.0.0.1 - - [29/Oct/2009:21:38:13 -0500] "GET /monkey.html HTTP/1.0" 200 20845 0 0 "http://www.monkey.com/" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.15) Gecko/2009101601 Firefox/3.0.15 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)" Now, how do I filter this in Urchin (or remove this in Apache logging) so, 127.0.0.1 is removed from processing. Currently urchin is not able to recognize the multuple IP address so it does not log the remote IP

    We have a application which is triggered from browser. This application consumes around 800 mb of memory. This works perfectly when invoked from any browsers in windows OS. The same application when triggered from MacOS throws an out of memory exception which occurs when the application is short of memory. Is there any way to increase the memory allocated for apps running in mac os environment. Also please let me know how JVM arguments can be passed to apps started through java webstart in macOS.
