  • How to host multiple RRAS in same network?

    i have hosted w2003 RRAS in my network succesfully ( Natting with one public IP ) i need to host another RRAS setup same like above with different private IP address and public IP's,. when i configured so, both w2003 servers got frozen and internet not working. sometimes the gateway is same for both the servers. How can i host 2 RRAS in the same network, i am using RRAS to limit bandwidth for computers running private ip's through bandwithcontroller software.

    Hi all, I am using squid like Internet proxy server on RHEL 4 update 6 & 8 with quite heavy load i.e. 8k established connections during peak hour. Without depending much on application provider's expertise I want to achieve maximum o/p from linux. W.r.t. that I have certain questions as following: How to find out if there is scope for further tcp fine-tuning (without exhausting available resources) as the benchmark values given by vendor looks poor! Is there any parameter value that is available from OS / network stack that will show me the results. If at all there is scope, how shall I identify & configure OS tcp stack parameters i.e. using sysctl or any specific parameter Post tuning how shall I clearly measure performance enhancement / degradation ?

  • sar command to generate only CPU utilization and network statistics in Linux

    I want to be able to generate the system activity report every 30 seconds or every minute and store in a file and use it for diagnostic purposes on my VM. So I give an output file for the sar command and read it using the "-f" option. But I only use the CPU utilization and network utilization part of the report and so rest is all that I don't want to save (waste the space in the disk to store these reports). Also the sar files that are generated are all binary. Is there a way to collect these stats for the CPU and network utilization alone? and so save almost 2/3rds the space on the disk?

    I am looking for a best hosting service for my website. My website is a PHP MySQl driven site which hase got site scrapping for more than 10 websites and near about 8-10 API pursing and some about 150 mb dat file reading(from local hard drive), and also one rss pursing,Live graph from other sites, geo map from Google,Map api from Google and so on. one widget which real-time result for any one who chose the same. so my question is which is best option for me. actually I am considering softlayer cloud as they are pretty cheap and more facilities than rackspace. another option is a dedicated server which has 2 single core processor, 4GB ram and 250GB sata II. with 100 mbps uplink. so please tell me which will be the best option?? I heard that dedicated server has lots of limitations than cloud. but for cloud they uses SAN for storage so I am afraid the reading proces for database may be bit slower...and their basic plan ram is only 1 GB.

    Hi friends, I have a windows 2000 advanced server 5.00.2195 service pack 4 installed in my lan network. I'm using this as my server in my network. I was using Norton antivirus 2001 in it as the antivirus. but its not updating now. And now i'm trying to use any other antivirus in it. But i cant install any in it. Nothing is suiting with 2000 server. can any one say which i can use in it. I have tried avg, nod32. But nothing worked. Please help me

  • What is the default mount point on Linux systems (all)?

    My question is very basic in nature. Is the mount point for external media (like USB) always /media? Because in a Debian system, if I plug in any USB device that goes to the /media folder. So is it the case with all the other Linux flavors like Fedora, Ubuntu, etc. If a USB device is automatically mounted will it always go to the /media directory?

    I have create a script to start a server(my first question). Now I want it to run on the system boot and start the defined server. What should I do to get this done? My findings tell me put this file in /etc/init.d location and it will execute when the system will boot. But I am not able to understand how the first argument on the startup will be start? Is this predefined somewhere to use start as $1? If I want to have a case startall that will start all the servers in the script, then what are the options I can manage.   • Problem with internet connection

    Hi all, I am working on windows vista. I have got two internet connections, one is wifi connection with high speed. And other is mobile network connection. There is a very strange problem I am getting. When I connect to wi-fi connection I an not able to serf internet(actually not all the sites). I am able to search on Google but when i click on any link in the search list it does not open. But I am able to serf all the pages in google.com domain and also all the pages in stackoverflow domain. But i am not able to go to page http://repo1.maven.org/maven2 But When I am connected by my mobile network. I am able to serf any site. Can you please tell me what might me the problem with my settings.

But, when I click on start, it says the following message: The Forefront Identity Manager Service service on WINSP02 started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs. Can anyone please help me in starting this windows service?

    What I have? I have normal web application and it has 3 site collections with name, "PDirectory". Other than this I have only Central administration web application in the farm. What I want? I want to delete that web application, "PDirectory". What problem am I facing? I am not able to delete the web application. I get below error when I try to delete it but, the site collections got deleted! Error: An object in the SharePoint administrative framework, "SPWebApplication Name=XXX Parent=SPWebService", could not be deleted because other objects depend on it. Update all of these dependants to point to null or different objects and retry this operation.     Hi, I cant browse php pages in my local server.Before it was working fine. But now i cant browse php pages, i can browse html pages and asp pages , no problems with that. But when i try to browse a php page its not loading. What will be the problem?? I am using windows 2000 advanced server and my web server is Tomcat please someone help me Guys i'm not getting anything in my browser, its just continue to loading Nothing showing in that page i'm not getting any 404 error or anything like that. its just continue to be loading for example consider my file is located under insider a folder named as myproject i can reach upto this http://localhost/projects/myproject but after that i cant browse php pages inside that... http://localhost/projects/myproject/index.php this will continue to be loading, and nothing shows in that page

    Hello, I had a system running Win 7 Home premium and ubuntu 10.04, side by side dual boot.I got an ubuntu 10.10 image disk so I decided to update.But during the installation I think I made a mistake by specifying the whole partition, and after installation of ubuntu 10.10 I saw that my windows and all the other data was gone.there was around 250GB of it.Is there any way I can recover this data??I had a lot of irreplacable photos and collections on the drive.I do have a recovery cd for my windows, but it does not detect any windows os.thanku very much.     Hey folks, I'm bashing my head to configure load balancing stuff between two database servers. I have no clue whether, I can find any mechanism to implement this. I already tried to implement Heart beat clustering but it requires virtual Ip wherein I can't create virtual IP or assign my own IP address in amazon EC2. Is there a way to configure PostgreSQL database servers in similar to Amazon load balancing kind of thing ? If so, please suggest the solution. Thanks in advance.

  • Squid randomly stops serving requests. How can I resolve this issue?

    The squid (2.7) proxy that I have running on ubuntu 8.10 stops accepting new requests after being online for a while, due to reasons that I can't discover. However doing a squid -k reload resolves the problem immediately. Now I manually run this command by monitoring the log and if i don't see any activity for 5 minutes I reload the config. Now on my quest for a solution I had several ideas: diagnose the root cause and eliminate it setup a script to automatically reload script if no new entries in access.log for the past 3 minutes painstakingly upgrade server to newer ubuntu version while keeping network offline or during off hours to minimize downtime. so i thought I would turn to you for solutions to option 2), as I do not understand squid enough for 1), and I'm avoiding 3) as long as i can. so can ideas?
