    I'm trying to get basic informations from an facebook page with this code: <?php $fb = file_get_contents("https://graph.facebook.com/exemplename", "rb"); $fb_array=json_decode($fb,true); echo $fb_array['id']; echo $fb_array['name']; echo $fb_array['picture']; ?> This work perfect on xampp local server but when i upload on webserver it just show a blank page. Anyone knows the reason why it doesn't work on webserver ?

  • Retrieving data from facebook in a winform

    Hey, I understand that using the facebook API I need an api key to connect, but I still don't understand how i would go about doing this, and how can i retrieve information upon users using the API (i'm only interested in retrieving the information that is publicly available e.g: username, birthdate, and other info that a specific user left public) I downloaded the facebook development kit, and tried adding the FacebookService control, but i don't get it... All the examples/samples i found on the internet are older than the version i have and therefore work a little different.. Can someone please post an example of how i would connect, using a certain API key, and retrieve someones public info/public photos (if there are any) ?? Thanks. :)

I'm trying to use the FaceBook JavaScript API function notifications_sendEmail(Array recipients, String subject, String text, String fbml, Object onRequestCompleted) I can understand the first four parameters. But what's the usage of the last parameter 'onRequestCompleted'. The Doc says it's the call back function. But, what if I do not want to execute a call back function? In this case, what will be a valid values to the parameter onRequestCompleted?

  • Facebook Scrumptious sample app won't build

    I did exactly what they do in the video. However, when I get to the scrumptious app and try to build/run it, mine fails. It says: "Parse Issue. Expected a type." Here are the two lines that it thinks are broken (located in the ACAccountStore.h): // Returns the account type object matching the account type identifier. See // ACAccountType.h for well known account type identifiers - (ACAccountType *)accountTypeWithAccountTypeIdentifier:(NSString *)typeIdentifier; // Returns the accounts matching a given account type. - (NSArray *)accountsWithAccountType:(ACAccountType *)accountType; Here is a link to the tutorial.     Greetings, Using the Facebook API, I have obtained an OAuth access token for a user. I can use it to retrieve information about the user and post to their wall, etc. I'm trying to figure out how to (or if there is a way to) programmatically get a list of pages a user owns (so that they can be presented in a drop-down list on a third-party site). I have been unable to find such a method in the Facebook API, but I'm hoping I've missed something. Thanks!

    I'm writing a simple splash page for a client to hold a like box widget: <iframe src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php?id=***********&amp;width=238&amp;connections=4&amp;stream=false&amp;header=false&amp;height=200" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:238px; height:200px;" allowTransparency="true"></iframe> The page displays fine, with the like box, but when you click on the like it depresses without prompting the user to logon and does not update facebook. This behavior seems to be on mobile browsers only. On desktop browsers (ie8, firefox, safari) it works just fine. Anyone had this happen, and if so what was their solution?

  • How to authorize my app with Facebook

    I know I have seen apps that log me in using Facebook but never present me with an authorization screen. I can not, for the life of me, figure out how to do this with Windows Phone 7. The best I have been able to get is using the Facebook for C# SDK to get the authorization screen in a WebView. This looks hideous and the page does not even appear to be mobile ready. I have searched high and low for an answer and have found nothing. Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to getting this to work? Thanks in advance

  • Upload Image to Facebook Objective-C

    I'm currently trying to upload an image from my Mac application to Facebook. To do this, I'd like for the user to simply input his username and password, and to click a button. The only issue is, Facebook doesn't actually have an API for the Mac, it only has one for iOS. This shouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that to login, you must use a web view, something I'm not to keen on doing, since I'd like the interface to be two simple text fields. I've also looked into PHFacebook, a class I found online, but it also seems to utilize an NSWebView. I'm wondering if there's a security issue when you use text fields; indeed, it's slightly strange no available API offers this function ! So, to conclude, is it possible, or is there an API, that lets you upload an image and lets you provide the user's credentials through simple NSStrings?

    Let's say I have a Facebook application which is monitoring friends birthdays. I want to notify the user that her friend will have a birthday in next two days. The first part is only cron which will check the dates, but is there any way how to notify the user? I didn't found anything for this. It was there a year ago but all of the API changes it looks like the removed all offline messages. I don't want to send an email to the user, it will be much more better to stay with everything on Facebook.
