    Hi folks, I am looking for an open source cross-platform library for working with the serial port in C, something along the lines of the awesome pyserial library (Unfortunately I have to use C for this application) I have only found this one: http://www.teuniz.net/RS-232/ and that doesn't seem to have mention OSX compatibility. I've tried Zehon's, but it's incredible naggy, and I think 8 jar files is a bit crazy for so little functionality as I require.     I've added a WCF Service Library to a Silverlight project. But when I try calling a method on the service I get a CommunicationException complaining about accessing a service in a cross-domain way. I've tried adding both a crossdomain.xml and clientaccesspolicyfile.xml to the service library project, but it doesn't help. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

    I need to run a set of tests against the same ruby version and same gemset but with different versions of a .so library. Therefor I need to have two ruby installations (for the same version 1.8.7), each one pointing to a different set of .so files. How can I do that? Gemset usage is already too late because library binding is done when rvm install installs a ruby version.

When I tried to include <math.h> I found that I need to link math library by using command gcc -lm But I am searching for another way to link the math library 'in code', that does not require the user to compile using any options.. Can gcc -lm be done in c code using #pragma or something? EDIT: I have changed -ml to -lm

I can display the string which is returned from my custom library method as follows: =ClassLibrary1.MyClass.Parse("harry potter") Above code works fine - it should return SQL query based on passed parameters. My question is, how can I use this code in my DataSource. I'm trying to do something like this: SELECT * FROM =ClassLibrary1.MyClass.Parse(@searchedPhrase) But the above code does not work and the error is returned :"Incorrect syntax near ="

However this requires knowing the symbol "SDL_Init" exists. Is it possibly to query a library for all its symbols? Eg, in this case it would return SDL_Init, the function pointer, and any other symbols exported by libSDL.so.

    I'm trying to use the sample code here: I went to "Add Reference" dialog and added "Microsoft Word 12 library", but it doesn't appear in the Solution Explorer. I also added: using Microsoft.Office; I get the following error message when trying to declare a "Word" object. Error 1: The type or namespace name 'Word' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Any suggestions on how to properly reference the Word library?

  • Should I use my models in a library?

    I've got my auth library in codeigniter which accesses the database to check to see if the email/password combination is correct. If I'm sticking to the MVC practice, should I move the function that interacts with the database to my model, or is it best practice to leave it where it is so I can use it in the future? Doesn't make much difference to me, other than the fact I'd have to re-write the library and create the function in my model, but if that's the way it should be then so be it.

When we upgrade a library it would be useful to quickly find out which projects have a dependency on the library (and might need to use the new version) Obviously I can manually look in all the pom files or write a script to do it but this is less than ideal. Are there any tools that provide this functionality. e.g. a hudson plugin, Nexus, artifactory etc?
