  • optimize python code

    - by user283405
i have code that uses BeautifulSoup library for parsing. But it is very slow. The code is written in such a way that threads cannot be used. Can anyone help me about this? I am using beautifulsoup library for parsing and than save in DB. if i comment the save statement, than still it takes time so there is no problem with database. def parse(self, text): soup = BeautifulSoup(text) arr = soup.findAll('tbody') for i in range(0,len(arr)-1): data=Data() soup2 = BeautifulSoup(str(arr[i])) arr2 = soup2.findAll('td') c=0 for j in arr2: if str(j).find("<a href=") > 0: data.sourceURL = self.getAttributeValue(str(j),'<a href="') else: if c == 2: data.Hits=j.renderContents() #and few others... #... c = c+1 data.save() Any suggestions? Note: I already ask this question here but that was closed due to incomplete information.

  • How to Have a Bundled Configurable Product in Magento ??

    - by Calua
Hi everybody, I've been searching about this topic on Magento forum and Google but can't find a definite answer for the question. Hope I find it here. Is it possible to have a bundled configurable products in Magento? Take for example I want to sell a set of t-shirt and short on a product page where the customer can choose the number of quantity, the color and the size for the t-shirt and short respectively. Maybe like this : T-Shirt [A configurable Product] Color : [combobox to select color] Size : [combobox to select Size] Qty : [input to enter the qty] Short [Another configurable Product] Color : [combobox to select color] Size : [combobox to select Size] Qty : [input to enter the qty] [Add to Cart Button] Any help and answer will be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • How to hide a scrollbar? (Windows Mobile)

    - by ikky
Hi! I have one panel "imageHolder" I have from 4 to 20 pictureboxes (each pictureBox is 256x256px so they increase the panel's size to more than the cellphone's workarea) I have set the panel's autoscroll = true, so that a V and H scrollbar is shown. Is it possible to make these scrollbars not visible? The reason i want them to be not visible: - I want to be able to use touch to move around in the panel, and thought that i can do this by just increasing/decreasing the scrollbar's position. Is there a way to do this? (I have searched, but can't seem to find anything useful. Looks like the scrollbars are a bit limited) Do you recommend me to do it some other way?

  • Where should I define custom routes in my ZF 1.10 app?

    - by Ross
With the new Zend_Application/Zend_Application_Bootstrap classes I'm confused as to where I should be applying my custom routes. For example, at the moment I have one route: protected function _initRouter() { $router = new Zend_Controller_Router_Rewrite; $route = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route('news/:id', array('controller' => 'news', 'action' => 'view')); $router->addRoute('postArchive', $route); } This method is in my Zend_Application_Bootstrap_Bootstrap and is definitely run. The route is also applied in $router. As I see it I could be doing two things wrong - either the wrong place to add these routes, or not adding to the correct router. Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?

  • Drupal node reference

    - by Nikunj Kotecha
I am using two content types - test_parent & test_child In test_child there are two fields, both of type datetime And in test_parent there are two fields, week_no & 7 node references I am using node_save to save a new node. After saving a node of parent type, and then saving the node of child type, i want to update the node it into the parent type. I have completed creation of both nodes from code, and also i am able to update nid in parent type from code. The problem is, the change in db is getting reflected in db but not on drupal node view. Even if i edit the node from drupal, it's showing -none- selected in node reference. Please help.

  • Are there any lint tools for C and C++ that check formatting?

    - by Nathan Fellman
I have a codebase that is touched by many people. While most people make an effort to keep the code nicely formatted (e.g. consistent indentation and use of braces), some don't, and even those that do can't always do it because we all use different editors, so settings like spaces vs. tabs are different. Is there any standard lint tool that checks that code is properly formatted, but doesn't actually change it (like indent but that returns only errors and warnings)? While this question could be answered generally, my focus is on C and C++, because that's what this project is written in.

  • code deployment options

    - by bobinabottle
We've been looking at automating our server and code deployments. We've already decided on puppet for our server configurations, but are looking for a more "push" style tool to use for code deployments. I'm currently looking at either using capistrano or fabric, but I'm not sure what would be the most mature to use? We deploy a number of different services, none of which are currenlty written in rails or django, so we don't mind about language. What would be the best one to build custom deployment scripts? Or have I missed another tool out there? We are also considering git pushing with hooks for deployment, but feel it will be limited/hacky in what we want to achieve with it. Any thoughts or experience would be great to hear. Cheers

  • Good File Organization Suggestions for Developer

    - by Paul
I am struggling a little with folder organization to organize the many projects that I work on. I work on OS X - right now I am using ~/Development/ as the root folder, and I have many types of projects. For example, I have my iPhone apps under ~/Development/Xcode I develop in many languages, from PHP, to Ruby, to Python, to Objective-C. So, for example, I might have a couple of open-source apps based on PHP where I am using the Zend framework. Some of these projects are for clients, others are tests/experiments when learning a new language or general experimenting. I am really interested in how other developers have organized code/projects and could pass along some advice to make it very easy to navigate through code/projects related to many languages and types of projects.

  • How to work with PHP abstract?

    - by YumYumYum
Why would you use such abstract? Does it speed up work or what exactly its for? // file1.php abstract class Search_Adapter_Abstract { private $ch = null; abstract private function __construct() { } abstract public funciton __destruct() { curl_close($this->ch); } abstract public function search($searchString,$offset,$count); } // file2.php include("file1.php"); class abc extends Search_Adapter_Abstract { // Will the curl_close now automatically be closed? } What is the reason of extending abstract here? Makes me confused. What can i get from it now?

  • Where to put WPF specific code when using MVVM

    - by Surfbutler
I'm just getting up to speed on MVVM, but all the examples I've seen so far are binding View controls to simple non-WPF specific data types such as strings and ints. However in our app I want to be able to set a button's border brush based on a number in the Model. At the moment, I translate the number into a brush in the ViewModel to keep the View XAML only, but is that right? I don't like putting WPF specific code in the ViewModel, but equally I don't like the idea of putting code-behind on my View panel. Which is the best way? Thanks

  • Copy and pasting code into the Python interpreter

    - by wpeters
There is a snippet of code that I would like to copy and paste into my Python interpreter. Unfortunately due to Python's sensitivity to whitespace it is not straightforward to copy and paste it a way that makes sense. (I think the whitespace gets mangled) Is there a better way? Maybe I can load the snippet from a file. This is just an small example but if there is a lot of code I would like to avoid typing everything from the definition of the function or copy and pasting line by line. class bcolors: HEADER = '\033[95m' OKBLUE = '\033[94m' OKGREEN = '\033[92m' WARNING = '\033[93m' FAIL = '\033[91m' ENDC = '\033[0m' def disable(self): self.HEADER = '' # I think stuff gets mangled because of the extra level of indentation self.OKBLUE = '' self.OKGREEN = '' self.WARNING = '' self.FAIL = '' self.ENDC = ''

  • Simple wrapping of C code with cython

    - by Jose
Hi, I have a number of C functions, and I would like to call them from python. cython seems to be the way to go, but I can't really find an example of how exactly this is done. My C function looks like this: void calculate_daily ( char *db_name, int grid_id, int year, double *dtmp, double *dtmn, double *dtmx, double *dprec, double *ddtr, double *dayl, double *dpet, double *dpar ) ; All I want to do is to specify the first three parameters (a string and two integers), and recover 8 numpy arrays (or python lists. All the double arrays have N elements). My code assumes that the pointers are pointing to an already allocated chunk of memory. Also, the produced C code ought to link to some external libraries.

  • How to call a Zend lucene search function?

    - by stef
I inherited a Zend project devoid of comments and I didn't get to talk to the previous developer. Since I have no Zend experience I'm having some issues :) I'd like to print out some variables inside an function that indexes items from the site using Zend_Search_Lucene because I think something is going wrong here. From what I've read, ::create creates a new index and ::open updates it. So it's in this ::open function I'd like to print out some variables. The name and params of the function are below. Does anyone have any idea how this function can be called so I can run some tests? private function search($category,$string,$page = 1,$itemsByPage = 5) EDIT: OR, is there a way I can nuke the existing index and force it to be rebuilt completely, for example by deleting the index files on the FS and then performing some searches?

  • Spring 3.0 MVC mvc:view-controller tag

    - by gouki
    Here's a snippet of my mvc-config.xml <bean class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.InternalResourceViewResolver"> <property name="prefix" value="/WEB-INF/views/"/> <property name="suffix" value=".jsp"/> </bean> <mvc:view-controller path="/index" view-name="welcome"/> <mvc:view-controller path="/static/login" view-name="/static/login"/> <mvc:view-controller path="/login" view-name="/static/login"/> I have the welcome.jsp on /WEB-INF/view/ directory and login.jsp on /WEB-INF/view/static/. This work for '/index' and '/login' paths. But I'm getting 404 response for '/static/login' when invoked from the browser. I'm expecting that '/static/login/' and '/login' should behave the same. What could be wrong here? Would appreciate any help. Thanks!

  • Use a ContextLoaderListener in accordance with DispatchServlet

    - by Phuong Nguyen de ManCity fan
I want to use both ContextLoaderListener (so that I can pass Spring Beans to my servlet) as well as DispatchServlet (Spring MVC). However, currently I have to pass init param to these both class initializer: <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name> <param-value> /WEB-INF/spring/app-config.xml </param-value> So, I use the same xml for these both classes. Wonder if it would lead to my beans being initialized twice? If yes, how would I do to avoid that?

  • SpringFramework3.0: How to create interceptors that only apply to requests that map to certain contr

    - by Fusion2004
In it's simplest form, I want an interceptor that checks session data to see if a user is logged in, and if not redirects them to the login page. Obviously, I wouldn't want this interceptor to be used on say the welcome page or the login page itself. I've seen a design that uses a listing of every url to one of two interceptors, one doing nothing and the other being the actual interceptor you want implemented, but this design seems very clunky and limits the ease of extensibility of the application. It makes sense to me that there should be an annotation-based way of using interceptors, but this doesn't seem to exist. My friend has the idea of actually modifying the handler class so that during each request it checks the Controller it is mapping the request to for a new annotation we would create (ex @Interceptor("loginInterceptor") ). A major point of my thinking is the extensibility, because I'd like to later implement similar interceptors for role-based authentication and/or administration authentication. Does it sound like my friend's approach would work for this? Or what is a proper way of going about doing this?

  • [ZF] set/add view from controller action

    - by user359650
Hi all, I'm trying to set a view script to be executed in addition to the currently requested action view script. I want to do this from the controller action itself in a way that this new view script output will be available from the layout $this-layout()-content helper. I found the setView() method but don't know how to use it from the controller. Thanks a lot.

  • Failed to execute stored procedure from the JDBC code using mysql connection

    - by Purushotham
Hi, I have one database. I executed a stored procedure on it. I wrote some JDBC code to connect to this database. When I am calling this stored procedure from my JDBC code it is throwing SQLException. One interesting thing I found is that I have one user other than root user. This user has all the privileges to this database where the stored procedure is present. When I use the root user I am able to call the stored procedure successfully. But with the other user I am getting SQLexception. I am not able to find why it happens like this. For sure I want this user(other than root) has to call this stored procedure successfully. Thanks in advance.
