  • Learn Less, Do more! Is that true with PHP or ASP.NET?

    When comparing PHP and ASP.NET, I find that in ASP.NET with Visual Studio you can do things quickly with help of the IDE and the available controls. However, they say that it does not take much time to learn PHP as in asp.net. I want to reach to a point where I can understand which one will I learn quickly? Which one will help me in producing more results (I mean more web applications) if I learned both in 3 months time.

Because the name can be different on different machines, Designer often replace it with something like ConnectionString1, which causes errors during deployment.It requires developers to ensure that ConnectionString stays unchanged.  More reliable way is to use context constructor with explicit ConnectionString name instead of parameterless default constructor GOOD:   var ctx = new MyModelDataContext(Settings.Default.ConnectionString);Not good:          var ctx = new MyModelDataContext();

    I cannot seem to install the windows platform sdk when i have visual studio 2010 installed,i followed the error code the sdk was getting and it said i need to unistall the 2010 redistribute runtimes,i did that and it has still not fixed the problem,this is very anoying as i have tried different things and been at it for atleast 5 hours now,did anyone else get this problem and know a work around? This is the order i tried install vs 2010, remove redis runtimes, install platform sdk (failed), install redis x86/x64, install service pack 1 for vs Thanks
