  • Unit test for Web Forms MVP presenter has a null Model

    I am using Web Forms MVP to write an DotNetNuke user control. When the 'SubmitContactUs' event is raised in my unit test the presenter attempts to set the 'Message' property on the Modal. However the View.Modal is null in the presenter. Shouldn't the Web Forms MVP framework automatically build a new View.Model object in the presenter? It could be that the 'Arrange' portion of my test is missing something that the presenter needs. Any help would be appreciated.   • Can SOTI's MobiControl software interfere with an ASP.Net web service?

    We have a set of WinMo (5.0) devices running a .NET CF application that talks to an ASP.Net web service running on a server. The devices connect to the network either via ActiveSync through a networked PC or directly to the network via an Ethernet dongle. In our development environment, the communication between devices and web service is 100% reliable. In our production environment, the communications are failing erratically and unpredictably. Sometimes calls to the web service (even to a simple test call that just returns a boolean) begin failing every time on a particular device, with the error message "Could not establish connection to network." This is usually fixed by flip-flopping the selected combo box values on the SETTINGS | NETWORKS screen. Sometimes calls on a particular device begin failing with a generic "WebException" message. The fix for this problem (so far) is either to reset the device (i.e. reinstall the OS) or else it just can't be fixed on some devices. To the best of our knowledge, everything about the DEV and PROD systems are the same (same server and device specs). The most obvious difference to us is that the PROD devices are all controlled by SOTI's MobiControl (which is server-side software that communicates with a SOTI client application installed on each device), whereas our DEV environment does not have SOTI installed anywhere (obviously we should have it there as well - long story). Does anybody have any experience with SOTI MobiControl and/or know of any documented problems where SOTI interferes with other communication mechanisms on a device?

  • Weird Java Math ,10 ^ 1 = 11?

    For an exercise I was writing a loop that turns a string into an integer without using the built in functions by multiplying each individual value by its numerical position. 75 would be 7*(10 ^ 1) + 5*(10 ^ 0), for example. However, for some reason (10 ^ 1) keeps coming back as 11. Is there some mistake I have made or an explanation for this?

  • Windows Media Encoder object not created in ASP.NET on MS Server 2003 64 bit

    Hello, I created (and used) a Windows Media Encoder object in Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition on MS Server 2003 64 bit. This worked fine. However, when I attempted to create the equivalent Windows Media Encoder object using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 on MS Server 2003 64 bit, the following exception was thrown: "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {632B606A-BBC6-11D2-A329-006097C4E476} failed due to the following error: 80040154." It cannot be that the component isn’t registered, because both have a reference to the same WMEncEng.dll file. The Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 code also worked fine on XP 32 bit. Could it be a problem with permissions? Regardless, anyone have any ideas why this problem is occurring and, more importantly, how to resolve it? Thank you.     Hi, Just trying to get the new API for the goo.gl URL shortening service working on my iPhone, following the instructions on http://code.google.com/apis/urlshortener/v1/getting_started.html I'm set up and the API is enabled etc., but when I send a request in the recommended format: POST https://www.googleapis.com/urlshortener/v1/url Content-Type: application/json {"longUrl": "http://www.google.com/"} I get an error returned. The error is exactly the one listed on that page in the errors section for if you haven't passed in a longURL param. This makes me think that I'm not setting up the body of the POST request properly. All this data is read from a file having a particular format, it is <name of fruit/vegetable price <available or not The names of fruits and vegetable do not change , it will be same for both the tables. However, it might be possible that data for a particular fruit/vegetable is not present. if it is not present the the column for that should show N/A with white background. I cannot use MIME:Lite for this. Need to use print <<ENDHTML;

  • Using gcc compiler flag in Xcode

    Hi, Shark has identified a area of code to be improved - Unaligned loop start and recommends adding -falign-loops=16 (gcc compiler flag). I've added this to Other C flags in iphone Xcode both to the dependant project and top level project. However it still does not seem to affect the performance and Shark is still reporting the same problem so it appears it didn't work. Am i doing this correctly?

I have no problem of showing multiple auto completes but problem comes when one selects options from auto complete. I have seen that autocompet.js uses id toValues to show selected option from autocomlte. So if there is only one autocomplete on one form then we can have one element as toValues to show the selected value. But if we have multiple auto completes then how to show the selected item of each auto complete as separately?     I'm having a difficult time understanding how to get Rails to show explicitly the error messages that a child resource is failing on when I render an XML template. Hypothetically, I have the following classes: class School < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :students validates_associated :students end class Student < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :school validates_format_of :email, :with => /^([^@\s]+)@((?:[-a-z0-9]+\.)+[a-z]{2,})$/i, :message => "You must supply a valid email" end Now, in the controller, let's say we want to build a trivial API to allow us to add a new School with a student in it (again, I said, it's a terrible example, but plays its role for the purpose of the question) class SchoolsController < ApplicationController def create @school = School.new @student = school.students.build @student.email = "bad@email" respond_to do |format| if @school.save # some code else format.xml { render :xml => @school.errors, :status => :unprocessable_entity } end end end end Now the validation is working just fine, things die because the email doesn't match the regex that's set in the validates_format_of method in the Student class. However the output I get is the following: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <errors> <error>Students is invalid</error> </errors> I want the more meaningful error message that I set above with validates_format_of to show up. Meaning, I want it to say: <error>You must supply a valid email</error> What am I doing wrong for that not to show up?

    Hi all, I've been struggling to upload an image from the user's computer and posted to our group page using the Facebook Graph API. I was able to send a post request to facebook with the image however, I'm getting this error back: ERROR: (#200) User must have accepted TOS. To some extent, I don't believe that I need the user to authorize himself as the photo is being uploaded to our group page.     Ok, this question is for people with either a deep knowledge of PRISM or some magic skills I just lack (yet). The Background is simple: Prism allows the declaration of events to which the user can subscribe or publish. In code this looks like this: _eventAggregator.GetEvent<LayoutChangedEvent>().Subscribe(UpdateUi, true); _eventAggregator.GetEvent<LayoutChangedEvent>().Publish("Some argument"); Now this is nice, especially because these events are strongly typed, and the declaration is a piece of cake: public class LayoutChangedEvent : CompositePresentationEvent<string> { } But now comes the hard part: I want to trace events in some way. I had the idea to subscribe using a lambda expression calling a simple log message. Worked perfectly in WPF, but in Silverlight there is some method access error (took me some time to figure out the reason).. If you want to see for yourself, try this in Silverlight: eA.GetEvent<VideoStartedEvent>().Subscribe(obj => TraceEvent(obj, "vSe", log)); If this would be possible, I would be happy, because I could easily trace all events using a single line to subscribe. But it does not... The alternative approach is writing a different functions for each event, and assign this function to the events. Why different functions? Well, I need to know WHICH event was published. If I use the same function for two different events I only get the payload as argument. I have now way to figure out which event caused the tracing message. I tried: using Reflection to get the causing event (not working) using a constructor in the event to enable each event to trace itself (not allowed) Any other ideas? Chris PS: Writing this text took me most likely longer than writing 20 functions for my 20 events, but I refuse to give up :-) I just had the idea to use postsharp, that would most likely work (although I am not sure, perhaps I end up having only information about the base class)..   • Save email as draft in php

    Hello, The past few days I've been trying to find out how I can save emails as drafts using php. I've created an emailaddress that uses imap (and resides on the same server). What I would like to do is to use php to create an email and store it in the drafts folder. These emails would then be recognized by the email client (ms office outlook in this case) so they can be editted and send from the email client. I've found some interesting information about the imap functions from php, they let you send mail, but I can't really figure out how to store them in the drafts folder (to which I have write access). I can actually find and read the emails, I save as drafts in my email client, using my ftp connection. However they make use of UID and message-ID's and such which I don't understand where they come from. My questions: - how could I create email drafts - How does a new UID or message-ID get created, and how would I use them for my email-draft file? Help is much appreciated, thanks. Yorian

My Data model contains an NSManagedEntity called language (with a two string attributes) with a relationship to an entity called WordCategory (one-to-many). I use an NSFetchRequest to get all the Language entities. that works fine. I get the valueForKey for the relationship and that works fine. I can work with its objects. However, when I try to send the message count to the NSSet that stores the WordCategory objects I get a In other words, this line works: NSLog(@"word category count %@",[[wordCategory anyObject] valueForKey:@"name"]); This one doesn't: NSLog(@"word category count %@",[wordCategory count] I get a the message: EXC_BAD_ACCESS in the debugger.     I want to write a php script that keeps the apache_log file open and "listen" to the log and deal with each log entry as it happens. I'm thinking that I need to open a file, get the number of lines, then do this again in a loop - and when the size is different, read the new lines and process them.
