  • Selenium: Get current value from drop-down menu

    - by tombh
Hi there. I'm trying to find a simple Selenium call to grab the current option from a select drop-down list. I'm aware there are calls which grab all the values in a list but I wish to know which option is currently selected. Apologies if this is trivial but google and Selenium IDE didn't help me. Thanks.

  • Disposing the members that implement IDisposable.

    - by Amby
In my Dispose methods (like the one below), everytime i want to call someObj.Dispose() i also have a check for someObj!=null. Is that because of bad design on my part? Is their a cleaner way to ascertain that Dispose of all the members (implementing IDisposable) being used in an object is called without having a risk of NullReference exception ? protected void Dispose(bool disposing) { if (disposing) { if (_splitTradePopupManager != null) { _splitTradePopupManager.Dispose(); } } } Thanks for your interest.

  • jQuery UI Slider (setting programatically)

    - by jAndy
Hi Folks, I'd like to modify the sliders on-the-fly. I tried to do so by using $("#slider").slider("option", "values", [50,80]); This call will set the values, but the element will not update the slider positions. Calling $('#slider").trigger('change'); does not help either. Is there another/better way to modify the value AND slider position ?

  • Detect if HTTP request is from browser / Flex asynchronous request?

    - by Andree
Hi there! When Flex application make an asynchronus HTTP request, does it add a special header to the request, like some JavaScript framework does? Something that indicates whether this request is an AJAX call/not. I just want my server side code to return different response format, depending on whether the request is made from browser/flex. Regards, Andree.

  • GORM "getNextException" equivalent

    - by Josh K
GORM sits on top of [Hibernate](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibernate_(Java). The issue is that sometimes Hibernate will throw exceptions from the JDBC driver that I can't figure out how to investigate. Specifically: Could not execute JDBC batch update; /* snip */ Caused by: java.sql.BatchUpdateException: /* snip */ [insert] was aborted. Call getNextException to see the cause. If it makes any difference I'm using PostgreSQL.

  • Can't Get ANT build to work in eclipse

    - by Travis
Long story short: I want to add the --core-library flag at compile time to include a library that depends on some javax libraries that aren't included in the android platform. I have attempted the walkthrough here: http://commons.apache.org/scxml/usecases/scxml-stopwatch-on-android.html but nothing ever changed on the emulator. I don't think I can repackage the libraries I'm after because I cannot amend the callers to call the new packages without violating a license agreement. Please, someone, point me in the right direction.

  • Converting 'x' value of a CGPoint ivar to NSTimeInterval?

    - by eco_bach
Hi I have a velocity ivar defined as a CGPoint. I need to somehow extract just the 'x' value of velocity, and then use this to call-send a message to the following method signature -(void) adjustTimer:(NSTimeInterval*)newInterval How do I obtain just the 'x' value of a CGPoint? Do I then need to convert or cast this result before calling my adjustTimer method?

  • Design pattern for adding / removing elements

    - by de3
Wikipedia's definition for Iterator pattern design: the Iterator pattern is a design pattern in which iterators are used to access the elements of an aggregate object sequentially without exposing its underlying implementation. Iterator interface in java provides the following methods hasNext() next() remove() Is there a pattern design, or a java interface for inserting / deleting elements, and getting length of the aggregate object, in addition to iterating them? I know remove() is an optional method that can be used once per call to next(), but I am implementing a circular FIFO array and need a method delete() independent of iterator's next().

  • domain modeling naming problem

    - by cherouvim
Hello There are some simple entities in an application (e.g containing only id and title) which rarely change and are being referenced by the more complex entities of the application. These are usually entities such as Country, City, Language etc. How are these called? I've used the following names for those in the past but I'm not sure which is the best way to call them: reference data lookup values dictionaries thanks

  • Cocoa : How do I catch drag operations initiated from an IKBrowserView?

    - by bucketmouse
So I've got an IKBrowserView all wired up and happily dragging my custom datatype (provided lazily via PasteboardItem) from one window to another, but now I'm interested in detecting when the user drops some data onto the trashcan. Cocoa's documentation says to check the return type of the drag operation itself, but how exactly do I do this with an IKBrowserView? Once I call imageBrowser:writeItemsAtIndexes:toPasteboard: I don't seem to get any notifications other than the request for the pasteboard contents, which doesn't provide a pointer to the drag operation that invoked it.

  • C#. How to terminate a thread which has spawned another thread which is sleeping?

    - by Bobb
I have a long running thread made from Thread.Start(). It spawns a background thread using QueueUserWorkItem which sleeps most of the time. Then the class-owner get disposed I call thread1.Join() but naturally it doesnt return because its child background thread is sleeping. What would be the right solution to gracefully terminate a thread which has other threads with little hassle? Thanks

  • How to find out if an object is of <type> or a decendant of <type>

    - by Vaccano
I have the following code: foreach (var control in this.Controls) { } I want to do something like control.Hide() in there. But the items in the this.Controls collection are not of type Control (they are Object). I can't seem to remember the safe way to cast this to call hide if it is really of type Control and do nothing otherwise. (I am a transplanted delphi programmer and I keep thinking something like control is Control.)

  • I'm trying to ressurrect UnderC C/C++ interpreter [closed]

    - by Domingo
Hello ! I'm trying to ressurrect UnderC C/C++ interpreter https://code.google.com/p/underc-fltk/ and I got it to compile with modern mingw compilers 3.4.5 and up, I need some experts advice on some topics: -Yacc/Bison grammar (example some problems with recognizing "unsigned" alone and "friend class") -ARM assembler only one function to call native os functions (X86 already there for windows and linux) -General improvements I expect it to work on WINCE, IPHONE, SYMBIAN in the near future. Thanks in advance for your expertize, time and attention !

  • Calculating volume for sphere in c++

    - by Crystal
    This is probably an easy one, but is the right way to calculate volume for a sphere in c++. My getArea() seems to be right, but when I call getVolume() it doesn't output the right amount. With a sphere of radius = 1, it gives me the answer of pi, which is incorrect: double Sphere::getArea() const { return 4 * Shape::pi * pow(getZ(), 2); } double Sphere::getVolume() const { return (4 / 3) * Shape::pi * pow(getZ(), 3); }

  • Can I rename Main.mxml?

    - by Randyaa
We have several Flash objects included in our project. We call each one a specific type of widget... For readability/debugging purposes I'd like to rename Main.mxml to something else. At first this seemed easy, as it would be just a setting in our maven configuration (we're using flex mojos to build our swf). However; changing the sourceFile from Main.mxml to MyWidget.mxml doesn't seem to do it. Any thoughts?
