  • X64 installer using Won64 node registry

    - by rajeshaz09
I am using InstallShield 2008 premium edition. I created one basicMSI project only to target x64 platforms. I changed summary property to "x64". But this installer is writing registry entries in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CompanyName\ProductName" . I am using both installshield script and vc++ DLL for custom actions. Why x64 installer is using WOW64 registry ?

  • Reuse nib's across multiple UIViewControllers

    - by colm
I've created some custom UITableViewCells in a nib file and would like to use that across multiple UIViewControllers. Can anyone tell me the best practice way to do that? My limited knowledge around loading nibs seems to suggest that you have to specify a single owner class in Interface Builder. Thanks.

  • Personal Plugin in Eclipse

    - by Amir Rachum
I own a plugin for eclipse, but I want to use it at work. Is there a way to make eclipse use plugin files without it affecting other people using the same central version of Eclipse? Maybe some custom preferences? Thanks. EDIT: Started a bounty. Please specify a step-by-step solution to this, as I'm not very experienced with the inner-workings of eclipse.

  • .Net CMS with API to expose content

    - by Peter
I am looking for a .Net CMS that allows me to expose pages/articles that are created in the CMS to other applications without querying the CMS database. Preferably this would be done through an API and by exposing them through a custom secured webservice. I know Sitefinity can do this. Do you know if Umbraco DotNetNuke can do this? If yes, a link to some documentation of the API is appreciated!

  • extending satchmo user profile

    - by z3a
I'm trying to extend the basic user registration form and profile included in satchmo store, but I'm in problems with that. This what I've done: Create a new app "extendedprofile" Wrote a models.py that extends the satchmo_store.contact.models class and add the custom name fields. wrote an admin.py that unregister the Contact class and register my newapp but this still showing me the default user profile form. Maybe some one can show me the correct way to do this?

  • drupal module alter view or node

    - by bert
I have been using hook_alter to modify forms in a custom PHP module. I started to take the same approach modifying the result page of "node add" form. However this page is not a form so I don't have a form ID to hook on to. Actually it contains a login form, but that does not contain the elements that I am looking for, What approach should I use in this situation?

  • Minimum permission required to access Site Columns page and edit site columns

    - by ParanoidMike
We've started to adopt SharePoint 2010, and are starting to manually migrate content from SharePoint 2007 sites to new sites we're rebuilding from scratch in SP2010. One of the things we previously had supported was to delegate responsibility for managing some of our site columns to a member of the team. The team member is not familiar with SharePoint internals, and doesn't want the responsibility of full permissions to the site and all its objects. We're now trying to figure out what the minimum permission is that we need to grant our team member, so they can continue to edit (& propagate) the content of the site columns we've defined. Permissions he currently has (which are obviously insufficient): Site permissions (according to _layouts/user.aspx): Read, Contribute, Manage Lists Permissions for specific objects in the site (according to _layouts/people.aspxMembershipGroupId=xxx, then choosing Settings, View Group Permissions): server/sites/[sitename]: Contribute server/sites/[sitename]/Lists/[a list with columns that inherit from site columns]: "Contribute No Delete" Note: the "Contribute No Delete" permission is a custom permission I designed by copying the SharePoint-native "Contribute" permission set and deselecting the Delete permission. The "Manage Lists" permission is a custom permission I designed that includes the following specific permissions: (List Permissions) Manage Lists, View Items; (Site Permissions) View Pages, Open. Operations that are throwing access denied errors: _layouts/mngfield.aspx: SharePoint returns the "Error: Access Denied" dialog, and provides three clickable options: "Sign in as a different user", "Request access", and "Go back to site" _layouts/fldedit.aspx?field=Level%5Fx0020%5F3 [one of the site columns we've defined]: can load the page and type in changes to the textboxes "...but when I press OK (save changes) I get the same message above." When our team member clicks the "Request access" link, the email I receive sends me to a page that recommends that I grant the user membership in the "[sitename] Users" group - of which he's already a member. So while SP2010 tries to request access, it doesn't actually direct me to either (a) a valid group that has the correct permissions or (b) the specific object to which I need to grant our team member access. Also note: on the SP2007 (MOSS) site (where our team member was successful in managing Site Column edits), they had dozens of additional permissions throughout the site that we do not wish to blindly re-allocate in SP2010 until we know they're necessary. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • Pros and Cons of automating Excel using VBA vs .Net

    - by Andy
I've been tasked with creating a financial planning tool in Excel that would benefit from some custom functions/macros. My initial reaction was to use VBA. I've used it to drive Excel before (say 5 years ago). But I then began to wonder if I would be better off using VSTO. Has anyone has experience using both techs and can list the pros and cons so that I can evaluate which course would be best.

  • How to switch to user perspective in Blender

    - by Cyanophage
I've just started using Blender (v2.63) for the first time. I have used a lot of 3d modelling programs in the past but Blender's controls seem to be set up differently and it's taking a while to get used to it. The thing that is really bugging me at the moment is switching from user perspective to front/side/top views. I have my view in perspective mode and I want to switch to front view in orthographic mode and then switch back to the view I had before. It seems that the only way is to press numpad-0 to go to camera view, rotate the screen a bit to get rid of the annoying black outline and then switch it back to perspective mode. Then sometimes when I go back to front view it's in perspective mode which is annoying as you never want front view in perspective, only orthographic mode. My question: Is there a way I can be in my user view in perspective mode, switch to front/side/top views in orthographic mode and then switch back to where I was before in my user mode and be back in perspective mode?

  • Eclipse Plugin that Opens a Command Line in Eclipse

    - by Jonas Laufu
I'm looking for an Eclipse plug-in that shows a system (independent) command line in a view that is ideally synchronized with the current project's local path. So basically a shell within Eclipse. The reason for this is to be able to execute custom build commands and script faster than specifying them as launch configurations or having to open a command prompt every time I start eclipse.

  • Attach a formatter to a UITextField on iPhone

    - by charlax
I'm trying to format an UITextField as user types text, for instance to show separator for thousands. I found this web page : http://www.iphonedevsdk.com/forum/iphone-sdk-development/16512-trying-add-commas.html It seems that shouldChangeCharactersInRange: is not a good solution. I thought of a custom UIView where the view would be updated as the user types digits, yet it would require recreating the wheel...

  • Automatically Creating A Zip after Code Signing in Xcode

I have a custom script step in my build process that zips the executable. However this is executing before the executable is signed which is pretty useless. Is there a way to zip the build output after the code is signed, within the Xcode build process. I can certainly do it externally if i need to, but I'd like to make it part of my Xcode build script.

  • WPF: Focus in a Window and UserControl

    - by Echilon
    I'm trying to get a UserControl to tab properly and am baffled. The logical tree looks like this. |-Window -Grid -TabControl -TabItem -StackPanel -MyUserControl |-StackPanel -GroupBox -Grid -ComboBox -Textbox1 -Textbox2 Everything works fine, except when the visibility converter for the ComboBox returns Visibility.Collapsed (don't allow user to change database mode), then when textbox1 is selected, instead of being able to tab through the controls in the UserControl, the focus shifts to a button declared at the bottom of the window. Nothing else apart from the controls displayed has TabIndex or FocusManager properties set. I'm banging my head against a brick wall and I must be missing something. I've tried IsFocusScope=True/False, played with FocusedElement and nothing works if that ComboBox is invisible (Visibility.Collapsed). <Window x:Class="MyNamespace.Client.WinInstaller" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" FocusManager.FocusedElement="{Binding ElementName=tabWizard}"> <Window.Resources> <props:Settings x:Key="settings" /> </Window.Resources> <Grid Grid.IsSharedSizeScope="True"> <!-- row and column definitions omitted --> <loc:SmallHeader Grid.Row="0" x:Name="headerBranding" HeaderText="Setup" /> <TabControl x:Name="tabWizard" DataContext="{StaticResource settings}" SelectedIndex="0" FocusManager.IsFocusScope="True"> <TabItem x:Name="tbStart" Height="0"> <StackPanel> <TextBlock Text="Database Mode"/> <loc:DatabaseSelector x:Name="dbSelector" AllowChangeMode="False" TabIndex="1" AvailableDatabaseModes="SQLServer" IsPortRequired="False" DatabaseMode="{Binding Default.DbMode,Mode=TwoWay,UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" DatabasePath="{Binding Default.DatabasePath,Mode=TwoWay,UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}"/> </StackPanel> </TabItem> ... The top of the user control is below: <UserControl x:Class="MyNamespace.Client.DatabaseSelector" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Name="root" FocusManager.IsFocusScope="True" FocusManager.FocusedElement="{Binding ElementName=cboDbMode}"> <UserControl.Resources> <conv:DatabaseModeIsFileBased x:Key="DatabaseModeIsFileBased"/> <BooleanToVisibilityConverter x:Key="BooleanToVisibilityConverter"/> </UserControl.Resources> <StackPanel DataContext="{Binding}"> <GroupBox> <Grid> <!-- row and column definitions omitted --> <Label Content="Database Mode"/> <ComboBox x:Name="cboDbMode" SelectedValue="{Binding ElementName=root,Path=DatabaseMode,Mode=TwoWay,UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" DisplayMemberPath="Value" SelectedValuePath="Key" TabIndex="1" Visibility="{Binding AllowChangeMode,ElementName=root,Converter={StaticResource BooleanToVisibilityConverter}}" /> <!-- AllowChangeMode is a DependencyProperty on the UserControl --> <Grid><!-- row and column definitions omitted --> <Label "Host"/> <TextBox x:Name="txtDBHost" Text="{Binding ElementName=root,Path=DatabaseHost,Mode=TwoWay,UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" TabIndex="2" /> <TextBox x:Name="txtDBPort" Text="{Binding ElementName=root,Path=DatabasePortString,Mode=TwoWay,UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" TabIndex="3" />

  • Parsing JSON into XML using Windows Phone

    - by Henry Edwards
I have this code, but can't get it all working. I am trying to get a json string into xml. So that I can get a list of items when i parse the data. Is there a better way to parse json into xml. If so what's the best way to do it, and if possible could you give me a working example? The URL that is in the code is not the URL that i am using using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Net; using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Windows.Documents; using System.Windows.Input; using System.Windows.Media; using System.Windows.Media.Animation; using System.Windows.Shapes; using Microsoft.Phone.Controls; using Newtonsoft.Json; using Newtonsoft.Json.Serialization; using Newtonsoft.Json.Converters; using Newtonsoft.Json.Utilities; using Newtonsoft.Json.Linq; using Newtonsoft.Json.Schema; using Newtonsoft.Json.Bson; using System.Xml; using System.Xml.Serialization; using System.Xml.Linq; using System.Xml.Linq.XDocument; using System.IO; namespace WindowsPhonePanoramaApplication3 { public partial class Page2 : PhoneApplicationPage { public Page2() { InitializeComponent(); } private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e1) { /* because the origional JSON string has multiple root's this needs to be added */ string json = "{BFBC2_GlobalStats:"; json += DownlodUrl("http://api.bfbcs.com/api/xbox360?globalstats"); json += "}"; XmlDocument doc = (XmlDocument)JsonConvert.DeserializeObject(json); textBox1.Text = GetXmlString(doc); } private string GetXmlString() { throw new NotImplementedException(); } private string DownlodUrl(string url) { string result = null; try { WebClient client = new WebClient(); result = client.DownloadString(url); } catch (Exception ex) { // handle error result = ex.Message; } return result; } private string GetXmlString(XmlDocument xmlDoc) { sw = new StringWriter(); XmlTextWriter xw = new XmlTextWriter(sw); xw.Formatting = System.Xml.Formatting.Indented; xmlDoc.WriteTo(xw); return sw.ToString(); } } } The URL outputs the following code: {"StopName":"Race Hill", "stopId":7553, "NaptanCode":"bridwja", "LongName":"Race Hill", "OperatorsCode1":" 5", "OperatorsCode2":" ", "OperatorsCode3":" ", "OperatorsCode4":"bridwja", "Departures":[ { "ServiceName":"", "Destination":"", "DepartureTimeAsString":"", "DepartureTime":"30/01/2012 00:00:00", "Notes":""}` Thanks for your responses. So Should i just leave the data a json and then view the data via that??? Is this a way to show the data from a json string. public void Load() { // form the URI UriBuilder uri = new UriBuilder("http://mysite.com/events.json"); WebClient proxy = new WebClient(); proxy.OpenReadCompleted += new OpenReadCompletedEventHandler(OnReadCompleted); proxy.OpenReadAsync(uri.Uri); } void OnReadCompleted(object sender, OpenReadCompletedEventArgs e) { if (e.Error == null) { var serializer = new DataContractJsonSerializer(typeof(EventList)); var events = (EventList)serializer.ReadObject(e.Result); foreach (var ev in events) { Items.Add(ev); } } } public ObservableCollection<EventDetails> Items { get; private set; } Edit: Have now kept the url as json and have now got it working by using the json way.

  • Using embedded resources in Silverlight (4) - other cultures not being compiled

    - by Andrei Rinea
I am having a bit of a hard time providing localized strings for the UI in a small Silverlight 4 application. Basically I've put a folder "Resources" and placed two resource files in it : Statuses.resx Statuses.ro.resx I do have an enum Statuses : public enum Statuses { None, Working } and a convertor : public class StatusToMessage : IValueConverter { public object Convert(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, CultureInfo culture) { if (!Enum.IsDefined(typeof(Status), value)) { throw new ArgumentOutOfRangeException("value"); } var x = Statuses.None; return Statuses.ResourceManager.GetString(((Status)value).ToString(), Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture); } public object ConvertBack(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, CultureInfo culture) { throw new NotImplementedException(); } } in the view I have a textblock : <TextBlock Grid.Column="3" Text="{Binding Status, Converter={StaticResource StatusToMessage}}" /> Upon view rendering the converter is called but no matter what the Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture is set it always returns the default culture value. Upon further inspection I took apart the XAP resulted file, taken the resulted DLL file to Reflector and inspected the embedded resources. It only contains the default resource!! Going back to the two resource files I am now inspecting their properties : Build action : Embedded Resource Copy to output directory : Do not copy Custom tool : ResXFileCodeGenerator Custom tool namespace : [empty] Both resource (.resx) files have these settings. The .Designer.cs resulted files are as follows : Statuses.Designer.cs : //------------------------------------------------------------------------------ // <auto-generated> // This code was generated by a tool. // Runtime Version:4.0.30319.1 // // Changes to this file may cause incorrect behavior and will be lost if // the code is regenerated. // </auto-generated> //------------------------------------------------------------------------------ namespace SilverlightApplication5.Resources { using System; /// <summary> /// A strongly-typed resource class, for looking up localized strings, etc. /// </summary> // This class was auto-generated by the StronglyTypedResourceBuilder // class via a tool like ResGen or Visual Studio. // To add or remove a member, edit your .ResX file then rerun ResGen // with the /str option, or rebuild your VS project. [global::System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("System.Resources.Tools.StronglyTypedResourceBuilder", "4.0.0.0")] [global::System.Diagnostics.DebuggerNonUserCodeAttribute()] [global::System.Runtime.CompilerServices.CompilerGeneratedAttribute()] internal class Statuses { // ... yadda-yadda Statuses.ro.Designer.cs [empty] I've taken both files and put them in a console application and they behave as expected in it, not like in this silverlight application. What is wrong?

  • How do I set the parental rating on a video?

    - by Les
I can view the properties (right click, properties, details) of a video file and it has a field for parental rating. How can I add a rating to the file (the field is blank)? There is the problem that if I can add a rating, someone else may be able to change it to circumvent parental controls on a video player. This isn't of concern to me at this time. Edit: The file types are both .avi and .mpg. Edit 2: I own the file and have 'full control'.

  • How to implement login page using Spring Security so that it works with Spring web flow?

    - by simon
    I have a web application using Spring 2.5.6 and Spring Security 2.0.4. I have implemented a working login page, which authenticates the user against a web service. The authentication is done by defining a custom authentincation manager, like this: <beans:bean id="customizedFormLoginFilter" class="org.springframework.security.ui.webapp.AuthenticationProcessingFilter"> <custom-filter position="AUTHENTICATION_PROCESSING_FILTER" /> <beans:property name="defaultTargetUrl" value="/index.do" /> <beans:property name="authenticationFailureUrl" value="/login.do?error=true" /> <beans:property name="authenticationManager" ref="customAuthenticationManager" /> <beans:property name="allowSessionCreation" value="true" /> </beans:bean> <beans:bean id="customAuthenticationManager" class="com.sevenp.mobile.samplemgmt.web.security.CustomAuthenticationManager"> <beans:property name="authenticateUrlWs" value="${WS_ENDPOINT_ADDRESS}" /> </beans:bean> The authentication manager class: public class CustomAuthenticationManager implements AuthenticationManager, ApplicationContextAware { @Transactional @Override public Authentication authenticate(Authentication authentication) throws AuthenticationException { //authentication logic return new UsernamePasswordAuthenticationToken(principal, authentication.getCredentials(), grantedAuthorityArray); } The essential part of the login jsp looks like this: <c:url value="/j_spring_security_check" var="formUrlSecurityCheck"/> <form method="post" action="${formUrlSecurityCheck}"> <div id="errorArea" class="errorBox"> <c:if test="${not empty param.error}"> ${sessionScope["SPRING_SECURITY_LAST_EXCEPTION"].message} </c:if> </div> <label for="loginName"> Username: <input style="width:125px;" tabindex="1" id="login" name="j_username" /> </label> <label for="password"> Password: <input style="width:125px;" tabindex="2" id="password" name="j_password" type="password" /> </label> <input type="submit" tabindex="3" name="login" class="formButton" value="Login" /> </form> Now the problem is that the application should use Spring Web Flow. After the application was configured to use Spring Web Flow, the login does not work anymore - the form action to "/j_spring_security_check" results in a blank page without error message. What is the best way to adapt the existing login process so that it works with Spring Web Flow?

  • Does the asp.net RoleManager really cache the roles for a user in a cookie if so configured?

    - by Ralph Shillington
In my web.config I have the Role Manager configured as follows: <roleManager enabled="true" cacheRolesInCookie="true" cookieName=".ASPROLES" cookieTimeout="30" cookiePath="/" cookieRequireSSL="false" cookieSlidingExpiration="true" cookieProtection="All"> however in our custom RoleProvider it would seems that the GetRolesForUser method is always being called, rather than as I would have expected, the RoleManager serving up the roles from its cookie. We're using something like to get the roles for a user: string[] myroles = Role.GetRolesForUser("myuser"); Is there something that I'm missing in the configuration, or in the use of the RoleManager Thanks in advance

  • App.Config or XAML

    - by Florian Doyon
Hi ladies(?) and gents, I am currently evaluating my options for a rewrite of the projects I'm working on and I am a bit miffed by the stringly-typed nature of our app.config files. I'd like to move to a more structured approach, so I have two options: Use custom SectionHandlers in the app.config Scrap app.config and use XAML instead. I'd like to get your opinions and horror stories on this, what are the pros and cons of using XAML for this? Cheers, Florian
