• Asp.net library to extract plain text from docx, pptx, xlsx (for search index)

  Is there a pre-existing library to extract plain text form docx, pptx, and xlsx files? I require this to populate a lucene.net index. I've found this example which extracts text from docx and it seems to work ok. But before building my own solution based on this I was wondering if there's something already available for the other file formats?

  Has anyone used Microsoft's UCMA 2.0 SDK to connect to 3CX's free IP PBX to add voice capabilities to their application? If so, does it work? What I am trying to accomplish is having a windows form app running on 2 or more computers, and each person can connect to another person and carry on a voice conversation using their headset connected to their computer. App is in C# w/ .NET3.5 SP1.

  Hi, Would it be theoretically possible to make BackgroundWorker in a class to periodically refresh existing splash screen form, or is that impossible? (I know that it's probably bad design, but currently I do not see any better way.) Please keep in mind that: I do not want the background worker to do the loading as it would be terribly hard to implement. I can't use the inbuilt splash screen support I'm aware of DoEvents alternative but I do not want to go this path, it would very hard to implement as well, and not reliable.

  I have both a text_field and a text_area in Rails, and I want to disable the browser's auto-complete. Setting the attribute in either the text_field, text_area, or in the form itself, doesn't seem to make the browser stop trying to auto-complete. This is for Firefox 3.6.3 on OS X. Maybe it's more a browser issue than a RoR issue. Thanks!

The example given is very minimal, and I am not groking why it is necessary, or what use-cases require it. Finding additional examples of its use is also proving difficult.
