  • Unit tests logged (or run) multiple times

    - by HeavyWave
    I have this simple test: protected readonly ILog logger = LogManager.GetLogger(MethodBase.GetCurrentMethod().ReflectedType); private static int count = 0; [Test] public void TestConfiguredSuccessfully() { logger.Debug("in test method" + count++); } log4net is set up like this: [TestFixtureSetUp] public void SetUp() { log4net.Config.BasicConfigurator.Configure(); } The problem is, that if I run this test in nUnit once, I get the output (as expected): 1742 [TestRunnerThread] DEBUG Tests.TestSomthing (null) - in test method0 But if I press RUN in nUnit.exe again (or more) I get the following: 1742 [TestRunnerThread] DEBUG Tests.TestSomthing (null) - in test method1 1742 [TestRunnerThread] DEBUG Tests.TestSomthing (null) - in test method1 And so on (if I run it 5 times, I'll get 5 repeating lines). Now, if I run the same test alone from reSharper the output is fine and does not repeat. However, if I run this test along side 2 other tests in the same class, the output is repeated three times. I am totally confused. What the hell is going on here?

  • Print number series in java

    - by user1898282
    I have to print the series shown below in java: ***1*** **2*2** *3*3*3* 4*4*4*4 My current implementation is: public static void printSeries(int number,int numberOfCharsinEachLine){ String s="*"; for(int i=1;i<=number;i++){ int countOfs=(numberOfCharsinEachLine-(i)-(i-1))/2; if(countOfs<0){ System.out.println("Can't be done"); break; } for(int j=0;j<countOfs;j++){ System.out.print(s); } System.out.print(i); for(int k=1;k<i;k++){ System.out.print(s); System.out.print(i); } for(int j=0;j<countOfs;j++){ System.out.print(s); } System.out.println(); } } But there are lot of for loops, so I'm wondering whether this can be done in a better way or not?

  • How do I build two different installers from the same script in inno?

    - by Tim
    I want to make a "standard" install for external use, but I also want to use the same script and tell it (with a command line param perhaps?) to include another set of files (PDB files for debugging) for our lab installations. How can I do this? Is it possible? I don't see how to set this in the [files] section. NOTE - this is not for having an option during the install. It is for static build time. I suppose it is just best to create a separate installer for the pdbs.

  • Method to concatenate 2 Strings in Java

    - by GooF
    I have a method in Java that concatenates 2 Strings. It currently works correctly, but I think it can be written better. public static String concat(String str1, String str2) { String rVal = null; if (str1 != null || str2 != null) { rVal = ""; if (str1 != null) { rVal += str1; } if (str2 != null) { rVal += str2; } } return rVal; } Here are some of the requirements: If both str1 and str2 are null, the method returns null If either str1 or str2 is null, it will just return the not null String If str1 and str2 are not null, it will concatenate them It never adds "null" to the result Can anyone do this with less code?

  • Retrieving a single Guid in CRM 4.0

    - by user1746560
    I'm new to CRM (version 4.0) and i'm trying to return a 'yearid' guide based on a given year (which is also stored in the entity).So far i've got: public static Guid GetYearID(string yearName) { ICrmService service = CrmServiceFactory.GetCrmService(); // Create the query object. QueryExpression query = new QueryExpression("year"); ColumnSet columns = new ColumnSet(); columns.AddColumn("yearid"); query.ColumnSet = columns; FilterExpression filter = new FilterExpression(); filter.FilterOperator = LogicalOperator.And; filter.AddCondition(new ConditionExpression { AttributeName = "yearName", Operator = ConditionOperator.Equal, Values = new object[] { yearName} }); query.Criteria = filter; } But my questions are: A) What code do in addition to this to actually store the Guid? B) Is using a QueryExpression the most efficient way to do this?

  • UDK "Error, Accessing a member of _'s within class through a context expression requires explicit 'O

    - by Ricket
    I get the following error in the UDK Frontend when I try to make my project: C:\UDK\UDK-2010-03\Development\Src\FixIt\Classes\ZInteraction.uc(58) : Error, Accessing a member of GameUISceneClient's within class through a context expression requires explicit 'Outer' The class ZInteraction extends Interaction. Line 58 is: GetSceneClient().ConsoleCommand("KEYNAME"@Key); What is the problem here? I am still investigating and I will update as I find out more. edit: Tried fixing the line up as class'UIRoot'.static.GetSceneClient().ConsoleCommand("KEYNAME"@Key); - no change.

  • How to update (append to) an href in jquery?

    - by John Isaacks
    I have a list of links that all go to a google maps api. the links already have the daddr (destination) parameter in them as static. I am using Geo-Location to find the users position and I want to add the saddr (source address) to the links once I get the data. so basically I will need to add something like &saddr=50.1234567,-50.03452 at the tail end of all the links pointing to google maps All the links have a class called directions-link and from this page I have figured out how to change them: $("a.directions-link").attr("href", "http://www.google.com/"); However I only want to append my value to the end of the href without changing what the href already is. How can I do that? Thanks!!

  • Class basic operators

    - by swan
    Hi, Is it necessary to have a copy constructor, destructor and operator= in a class that have only static data member, no pointer class myClass{ int dm; public: myClass(){ dm = 1; } ~myClass(){ } // Is this line usefull ? myClass(const myClass& myObj){ // and that operator? this->dm = myObj.dm; } myClass& operator=(const myClass& myObj){ // and that one? if(this != &myObj){ this->dm = myObj.dm; } return *this; } }; I read that the compiler build one for us, so it is better to not have one (when we add a data member we have to update the operators)

  • Java : Using parent class method to access child class variable

    - by Jayant
    I have the following scenario : public class A { private int x = 5; public void print() { System.out.println(x); } } public class B extends A { private int x = 10; /*public void print() { System.out.println(x); }*/ public static void main(String[] args) { B b = new B(); b.print(); } } On executing the code, the output is : 5. How to access the child class(B's) variable(x) via the parent class method? Could this be done without overriding the print() method (i.e. uncommenting it in B)? [This is important because on overriding we will have to rewrite the whole code for the print() method again]

  • Why StringWriter.ToString return `System.Byte[]` and not the data?

    - by theateist
    UnZipFile method writes the data from inputStream to outputWriter. Why sr.ToString() returns System.Byte[] and not the data? using (var sr = new StringWriter()) { UnZipFile(response.GetResponseStream(), sr); var content = sr.ToString(); } public static void UnZipFile(Stream inputStream, TextWriter outputWriter) { using (var zipStream = new ZipInputStream(inputStream)) { ZipEntry currentEntry; if ((currentEntry = zipStream.GetNextEntry()) != null) { var size = 2048; var data = new byte[size]; while (true) { size = zipStream.Read(data, 0, size); if (size > 0) { outputWriter.Write(data); } else { break; } } } } }

  • Java print binary number using bit-wise operator

    - by user69514
    Hi I am creating a method that will take a number and print it along with its binary representation. The problems is that my method prints all 0's for any positive number, and all 1's for any negative number private static void display( int number ){ System.out.print(number + "\t"); int mask = 1 << 31; for(int i=1; i<=32; i++) { if( (mask & number) != 0 ) System.out.print(1); else System.out.print(0); if( (i % 4) == 0 ) System.out.print(" "); } }

  • Correct approach to validate attributes of an instance of class

    - by systempuntoout
    Having a simple Python class like this: class Spam(object): __init__(self, description, value): self.description = description self.value = value Which is the correct approach to check these constraints: "description cannot be empty" "value must be greater than zero" Should i: 1.validate data before creating spam object ? 2.check data on __init__ method ? 3.create an is_valid method on Spam class and call it with spam.isValid() ? 4.create an is_valid static method on Spam class and call it with Spam.isValid(description, value) ? 5.check data on setters declaration ? 6.... Could you recommend a well designed\Pythonic\not verbose (on class with many attributes)\elegant approach?

  • PHP mySQL query's and PHP Variables

    - by jon
    I'm trying to make an OO Login system for a project I'm working on, and am having trouble with inserting variables into the query strings. In the code below, if I replace "$TBL_NAME" with the actual table name it works. Why isn't $TBL_NAME translating to the value of $TBL_NAME? class UserDB { private $TBL_NAME = "users"; public static function CheckLogin($username, $password) { Database::Connect(); $username = stripslashes($username); $password = stripslashes($password); $username = mysql_real_escape_string($username); $password = mysql_real_escape_string($password); $sql="SELECT uid FROM $TBL_NAME WHERE username='$username' AND password='$password' "; $result =mysql_query($sql); $count=mysql_num_rows($result); if ($count==1) return true; else return false; } The Query is returning false.

  • Python Class Variables Question

    - by zyq524
    I have some doubt about python's class variables. As my understanding, if I define a class variable, which is declared outside the init() function, this variable will create only once as a static variable in C++. This seems right for some python types, for instance, dict and list type, but for those base type, e.g. int,float, is not the same. For example: class A: dict1={} list1=list() int1=3 def add_stuff(self, k, v): self.dict1[k]=v self.list1.append(k) self.int1=k def print_stuff(self): print self.dict1,self.list1,self.int1 a1 = A() a1.add_stuff(1, 2) a1.print_stuff() a2=A() a2.print_stuff() The output is: {1: 2} [1] 1 {1: 2} [1] 3 I understand the results of dict1 and list1, but why does int1 behavior different?

  • Caching Models in rails

    - by jules
    I have a rails application, with a model that is a kind of repository. The records stored in the DB for that model are (almost) never changed, but are read all the time. Also there is not a lot of them. I would like to store these records in cache, in a generic way. I would like to do something like acts_as_cached, but here are the issue I have: I can not find a decent documentation for acts as cached (neither can I find it's repository) I don't want to use memcached, but something simpler (static variable, or something like that). Do you have any idea of what gems I could use to do that ? Thanks

  • Passing Session[] and Request[] to Methods in C#

    - by NYARROW
    In C#, How do you pass the Session[] and Request[] objects to a method? I would like to use a method to parse out Session and Request paramaters for a .aspx page to reduce the size of my Page_Load method. I am passing quite a few variables, and need to support both POSTand GET methods. For most calls, not all variables are present, so I have to test every variable multiple ways, and the code gets long... This is what I am trying to do, but I can't seem to properly identify the Session and Request paramaters (this code will not compile, because the arrays are indexed by number) static string getParam( System.Web.SessionState.HttpSessionState[] Session, System.Web.HttpRequest[] Request, string id) { string rslt = ""; try { rslt = Session[id].ToString(); } catch { try { rslt = Request[id].ToString(); } catch { } } return rslt; } From Page_Load, I want to call this method as follows to retrieve the "MODE" paramater: string rslt; rslt = getParam(Session, Request, "MODE"); Thanks!

  • Aside from performance concerns, is Java still chosen over Groovy/JRuby etc.?

    - by yar
    [This is an empirical question about the state-of-the-art: I am NOT asking if Java is cooler or less cool than the dynamic languages that work in the JVM.] Aside from cases where performance is a main decision factor, do companies/developers still willingly chose Java over Groovy, JRuby or JPython? Personal Note: The reason I am asking is that, while I do some subset of my professional work in Ruby (not JRuby, for now), in my personal projects I use Java. While I have written non-trivial apps in Groovy, I prefer Java, but I wonder if I should just get over it and do everything in Groovy. I like Java because I feel that static typing saves me time and aids refactoring. (No, I am not familiar with Scala.) However, I feel that this very empirical, on-topic programming question may inform my decision.

  • What is the definition of a Service object ?

    - by Maskime
    I've been working a lot with PHP. But recently i was sent on a work wich use Java. In PHP i used to do a lot of Singleton object but this pattern has not the same signification in Java that it has in PHP. So i wanted to go for an utility class (a class with static method) but my chief doesn't like this kind of classes and ask me to go for services object. So my guess was that a service object is just a class with a constructor that implement some public methods... Am i right ?

  • How to remove strings of certain lengths

    - by Macosx Iam
    So I have this array, and I want to delete strings that are 2 or 4 characters in length (strings that contain 2 or 4 characters). I am doing this method, and it doesn't work, even though logically, it SHOULD work. public static void main(String[] args) { ArrayList<String> list = new ArrayList<String>(); list.add("This"); list.add("is"); list.add("a"); list.add("test"); for (int i=0; i<list.size(); i++) { if(list.get(i).length()==2 || list.get(i).length()==4) { list.remove(i); } } } I'd like to stick to this method of doing it. Can you please give me some suggestions as to how to correct this code? The output of this code when I run it is: [is, a] Even though I want the output to be [a] because "is" is 2 characters long.

  • .NET's double.NaN - how does this counterintuitive feature work?

    - by GeReV
    I stumbled upon the definition of double.NaN in code: public const double NaN = (double)0.0 / (double)0.0; This is done similarly in PositiveInfinity and NegativeInfinity. double.IsNaN (with removing a few #pragmas and comments) is defined as: [Pure] [ReliabilityContract(Consistency.WillNotCorruptState, Cer.Success)] public static bool IsNaN(double d) { if (d != d) { return true; } else { return false; } } This is, by far, the most counterintuitive thing I have ever seen in the .NET framework. How is 0.0 / 0.0 represented "behind the scenes"? How can division by 0 be possible in double, and why does NaN != NaN?

  • Why doesn't the C++ default destructor destroy my objects?

    - by Oszkar
    The C++ specification says the default destructor deletes all non-static members. Nevertheless, I can't manage to achieve that. I have this: class N { public: ~N() { std::cout << "Destroying object of type N"; } }; class M { public: M() { n = new N; } // ~M() { //this should happen by default // delete n; // } private: N* n; }; Then this should print the given message, but it doesn't: M* m = new M(); delete m; //this should invoke the default destructor
