• How to replace values in multi-valued ESE column?

  I have a multi-valued short ASCII text column in one of the tables in my ESE database, that holds the person's phone numbers. I have the new set of values, and I'd like to wipe the old values completely, and only use the new values. The JET_bitSetRevertToDefaultValue bit doesn't seem to work. While the MSDN documentation says "It causes the column to return the default column value on subsequent retrieve column operations. All existing column values are removed.", I found that it does nothing (no return value is returned). Or, is there an easy way to find out how many values does the column contain (this could be zero, e.g. when I'm doing an insertion, not update)? If it was, I could just run a loop from 'nValues' to 1, erasing the value by setting it to the null while providing the itagSequence value, to achieve what I want. I'm programming C#, and using the latest version of ManagedEsent library. Thanks in advance!

So I have ListActivity class which is FragmentActivity and ListFragment class which is Fragment It all works perfect, but when I change screen orientation it calls again AsyncTask and reload all data. • PowerPoint.Application not raising events in C#

  I have a simple application written in C# and .Net 2.0 that displays several PowerPoint 2003 files in a loop. (It is going to be used for a information board in our cafeteria) The application works fine on my development machine but when I deploy it to another machine the events I have registered for SlideShowNextSlide and PresentationClose are never fired. • Compare range of ip addresses with start and end ip address in MySQL

  I have a MySQL table where I store IP ranges. It is setup in the way that I have the start address stored as a long, and the end address (and an id and some other data). Now I have users adding ranges by inputting a start and end ip address, and I would like to check if the new range is not already (partially) in the database. I know I can do a between query, but that doesn't seem to work with 2 different columns, and I also cannot figure out how to pass a range to compare it. Doing it in a loop in PHP is a possibility, but would with a range of e.g. 132.0.0.0-199.0.0.0 be quite a big amount of queries..

  In the image below, the sign on the side of the van is not face-on to the camera. I want to calculate, as best I can with the pixels I have, what it'd look like face on. I imagine that this is some kind of loop through the x and y axis doing a Bresenham's line on both dimensions at once with some kind of mixing when pixels in the source image overlap - some sub-pixel mixing of some sort? What approaches are there, and how do you mix the pixels? Is there a standard approach for this?

  Hi there, I have written a class which loads configuration objects of my application and keeps track of them so that I can easily write out changes or reload the whole configuration at once with a single method call. However, each configuration object might potentially throw an exception when doing IO, yet I do not want those errors to cancel the overall process so that the other objects are still given a chance to reload/write. Therefore I collect all exceptions which are thrown while iterating over the objects and store them in a super-exception, which is thrown after the loop, since each exception must still be handled and someone has to be notified of what exactly went wrong. However, that approach looks a bit odd to me. Someone out there with a cleaner solution? • Swap bits in c++ for a double

  Im trying to change from big endian to little endian on a double. One way to go is to use double val, tmp = 5.55; ((unsigned int *)&val)[0] = ntohl(((unsigned int *)&tmp)[1]); ((unsigned int *)&val)[1] = ntohl(((unsigned int *)&tmp)[0]); But then I get a warning: "dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing rules" and I dont want to turn this warning off. Another way to go is: #define ntohll(x) ( ( (uint64_t)(ntohl( (uint32_t)((x << 32) >> 32) )) << 32) | ntohl( ((uint32_t)(x >> 32)) ) ) val = (double)bswap_64(unsigned long long(tmp)); //or val = (double)ntohll(unsigned long long(tmp)); But then a lose the decimals. Anyone know a good way to swap the bits on a double without using a for loop?

• DataGridView and checkboxes re-selecting automatically

  I have a strange problem with a DataGridView I'm using which is bound to a table in VB.net I've added a checkbox column to allow a user to tick a bunch of rows that I can then loop through and save off to a different table. All the checkboxes are enabled by default. So it's really a case of unchecking the rows which aren't required. However, the DataGridView re-enables any checkbox that I click after I click on a checkbox in another row. So in effect, only one row can be unchecked at a time. I'm sure I'm probably missing something obvious here?

  Hi, C bothers me with its handling of strings. I have a pseudocode like this in my mind: char *data[20]; char *tmp; int i,j; for(i=0;i<20;i++) { tmp = data[i]; for(j=1;j<20;j++) { if(strcmp(tmp,data[j]))//then except the uniqueness, store them in elsewhere. } } But when i coded this the results were bad.(I handled all the memory stuff,little things etc.) The problem is in the second loop obviously :D. But i cannot think any solution. How do i find unique strings in an array. Example input : abc def abe abc def deg entered unique ones : abc def abe deg should be found.

  hi guys, I have a listview which displays (eventually) an album cover of an itunes play list with the album name under it. the problem I am having is that I cannot get the album art (currently a blank square) ABOVE the album name. It always is on the side... how do I do it? Right now, my script run through a for loop echoing each value to the standard output: for value in ${values[@]} do echo $value done Yeah, that's pretty ugly! And the one column listing is pretty long too... I was wondering if i can find a command or builtin helping me to display all those values in columns, like the ls command does by default when listing a directory (ls -C).   Using the jQuery $.post function, if you send a null value, it arrives at the server side as "null". Example: Javascript: $.post('test.php', { foo : null }); PHP: var_dump($_POST['foo']); // string(4) "null" I understand why this is so, but was wondering the best way to work around the limitation? Should you: Loop through all the variables in JS before you send them and replace with an empty string? Interpret "null" as null on the server side? Don't send the variable at all? Something else?

• Monitor and Terminate Python script based on system resource use

  What is the "right" or "best" way to monitor the system resources a python script is using and terminate it if the resource use exceeds some predetermined values. In my case memory usage is of concern. I am not asking how to measure the system resource use although I am open to suggestions. As a simple example, let's assume I have a function that finds prime numbers less than some large number and adds them to a list based on some condition. I don't know ahead of time how many prime numbers will satisfy the condition so I what to be sure to terminate the function if I use up to much system memory (8gb lets say). I know that there are ways to monitor the size of python objects. What I don't know is the proper way to monitor the size of the list and exit is to just include a size test in the prime function loop and exit if it exceeds 8gb or if there is an "external" way to monitor and exit.

• How can I create a simple message box in Python?

  I'm looking for the same effect as alert() in JavaScript. I wrote a simple web-based interpreter this afternoon using Twisted.web. You basically submit a block of Python code through a form, and the client comes and grabs it and executes it. I want to be able to make a simple popup message, without having to re-write a whole bunch of boilerplate wxPython or TkInter code every time (since the code gets submitted through a form and then disappears). I've tried tkMessageBox: import tkMessageBox tkMessageBox.showinfo(title="Greetings", message="Hello World!") but this opens another window in the background with a tk icon. I don't want this. I was looking for some simple wxPython code but it always required setting up a class and entering an app loop etc. Is there no simple, catch-free way of making a message box in Python?

  Here is my current code: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^example\.com [NC] #RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI}!^something RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^([^.]+)\.example\.com RewriteRule (.*) something/%1/$1 [QSA,L] My goal is to rewrite http://*.example.com/whatever to http://example.com/something/*/whatever, assuming * is the same for both and whatever is the same for both. However, I believe this is causing an infinite loop somehow, so I added that commented out line (RewriteBase is / btw), but if I uncomment then the entire site is a 500 response code. Without that line, only the subdomains error. What am I doing wrong, and how can I fix this? I have already configured the server so anything gets redirected to my public_html folder. EDIT: For clarification, I am trying to do an internal redirect, not external. EDIT: There is not a flag for internal redirect it seems. Is there any place I can see the actual error message for the broken rewriterule? If I knew what was wrong I would be able to stand a better chance of fixing it.

So I am looking for words like "the", "and", "that" etc. and taking them out of the keyword search. so I have an array of words like so: $wordArr = [the, and, at,....]; and then running something like: && preg_match('(\bmyword\w*\b)', $key) == false how do I combine these two so it loops through the array finding out if any of the words in the array match the regular expression? I guess I could just do a for loop, but though maybe I could use in_array($wordArr, $key).. or something like that.
