  • Moving Powerpoint callout pointer

    I noticed that the eXdupe compression/archiving/deduplication utility was recently mentioned in another post here. It boasts some interesting features, and I've been playing with it for the past day. It's basically a cross-platform, highly multithreaded archival tool. http://exdupe.com/index.html I'm curious if anyone here uses it in production or has any tips on how to leverage the tool in their environment. I'm looking for suggestions.

    The subject of my post pretty much sums up my question: What happens when PassengerMaxPoolSize is reached? For Example: PassengerMaxPoolSize is configured to 40 based off our system specs What happens if all 40 sessions are active (processing a request) and our load balancer passes another session to this particular web server? This would send a 41st session to be processed without an available Passenger process.

I have already done the following: Submitted my sitemap Added my site at www.google.com/addurl Added Analytics to my site Checked in the webmaster tools if there are crawlers errors But still, after about three or four days, the crawler hasn't crawled my site. What am I missing?

  • Firefox Blocklisting Java

    Recently, Mozilla decided to blocklist older versions of the Java plug-in. Unfortunately, this doesn't work well with some internal applications we are using. Does any know if there is a workaround? Perhaps a way to unblock the plug-in for certain domains? I've scoured Google. We're using the most up to date Firefox.   • Can't do SSH public key under cryptographed home [migrated]

    Sorry if I post this in the wrong place. I've readed this topic, but I not able to comment on someones answer, so I started a new topic. I can't do ssh public key login to my server and I think this issue is related to the fact my home is using cryptography which set the permissions to 700 on /home/MY-USER I've tried another workstation and everything works fine. I would be glad if someone help me to get out this without revert the cryptography.

    I recently found a post on switching between different sound cards with one key stroke (the answer I ended up using is Default Audio Changer). I am looking for similar functionality for switching between monitors. Win+P is not good enough, as it loops between four choices: Computer | Duplicate | Extend | Projector, and I want to toggle only between two monitors. It also takes at least four key strokes to toggle.

  • windows 8 installs fails to start

    I've been trying to follow Scott Hanselman's post on installing the Win8 RP on a vhd, using the win8 .iso on a dvd, but the install wont start. Basically, the current setup involves me needing to manually go in after first boot and set the newly installed JRE as the default using the alternatives --config command. Is there a way for me to pass arguments to alternatives so I don't have to manually pick the correct JRE?

    My post-commit hook looks like this: pushd C:\Websites\Project svn update I am updating my server copy of repository. When I commit client stopped on sending content and locked or I dont know. Its is waiting for something. So when I cancel and try to update manually on server, I see: Working copy "." lockedsvn And only after manual cleanup and update again, I get updated revision, that was really commited. What I do wrong?

  • Loudspeaker Tile in Windows 8

    In the classical desktop I have the loudspeaker symbol, which I use to make the sound louder and quieter by using the mouse. On the modern UI Start Screen I can change it through the Charm-Bar and settings, but it is inconvenient.     I have a great problem to deal : no access anymore to Ubuntu through my VirtualBox. I always have the same message Session failed to Open Could not open the medium '/Users/me/VirtualBox VMs/Ubuntu/Ubuntu.vdi'. VDI: error reading pre-header in '/Users/me/VirtualBox VMs/Ubuntu/Ubuntu.vdi' (VERR_DEV_IO_ERROR). VD: error VERR_VD_VDI_INVALID_HEADER opening image file '/Users/me/VirtualBox VMs/Ubuntu/Ubuntu.vdi' (VERR_VD_VDI_INVALID_HEADER).   • How to handle business rules with a REST API?

    I have a REST API to manage a booking system I'm searching how to manage this situation : A customer can book a time slot : A TimeSlot resource is created and linked to a Person resource. In order to create the link between a time lot and a person, the REST client send a POST request on the TimeSlot resource But if too many people booked the same slot (let's say the limit is 5 links), it must be impossible to create more associations. How can I handle this business restriction ? Can I return a 404 status code with a JSON response detailing the error with a status code ? Is it a RESTFul approach ? EDIT : Like suggested below I used status 409 Conflict in addition to a JSON response detailing the error
