• Need help with Layouts in Swing

  Hi, I'm using Java Swing and I have the following problem: I have a class TnaiPanel that extends JPanel. In this class I am creating 3 components and then lay them out in a horizontal line using a BoxLayout. Also, I have a class TnaimDinamimPanel that also extends JPanel. This class contains multiple occurances of TnaiPanel, layed out vertically using a BoxLayout. Also, I have a class MainFrame that extends JFrame. This frame contains a menu-bar and one main panel. The main panel can change (when choosing a certain menu-item, I create a new panel and set it to show as the main panel of the frame). Now, for some reason I get "BoxLayout can't be shared" when I add the newly created TnaimDinamimPanel to the components of the frame. I don't mind using different layout objects. The result I want to get is a sort of "table" of components, where each TnaiPanel will have fixed component sizes and spacing, essentially serving the role os a "row" in the "table". Thanks, Malki.

  I have a base class like this: public class Trajectory{ public int Count { get; set; } public double Initial { get; set { Count = 1; } } public double Current { get; set { Count ++ ; } } } So, I have code in the base class, which makes the set-s virtual, but the get-s must stay abstract. So I need something like this: ... public double Initial { abstract get; virtual set { Count = 1; } } ... But this code gives an error. The whole point is to implement the counter functionality in the base class instead in all the derived classes. So, how can I make the get and set of a property with different modifiers?

  Consider this situation: I get an object of type A which has the function f. I.e: class A: def f(): print 'in f' def h(): print 'in h' and I get an instance of this class but I want to override the f function but save the rest of the functionality of A. So what is the best query to select every Result from a single Course (not test), and also the query to select every Result from a single Course, but from one user. Thanks!

• Button outside view... how to make it work

  I have a UIImageView based class that creates objects with the following characteristics: a small image square and a UITextView below. If the user drags the object by the image it can drag it around. If the user taps on the UITextView the keyboard has to appear and the user can change the text on it. The objects created by the class are like this: 1) the object creates a 60x60 pixels frame 2) puts an image inside that frame 3) creates a UITextView and puts it below that 60x60 frame. So, as the class is a UIImageView based and it creates an image with 60x60 pixels and the UITextView is located outside that area, in theory the text view is outside the area the tapping are for that object. Obviously I could make the class create a big square to encompass the image and the text view, but that frame would be too big and I have the objects created by this class to be as close as possible when I add them to another view. I could also create the text views from the same view I created the objects, but I would have to manage each object and each correspondent text view and I need them to move together... so, I have a problem. Any ideas on a simplest way to do that?

  I am developing a Java Desktop Application and using JPA for persistence. I have a problem mentioned below: I have two entities: Country City Country has the following attribute: CountryName (PK) City has the following attribute: CityName Now as there can be two cities with same name in two different countries, the primaryKey for City table in the datbase is a composite primary key composed of CityName and CountryName. Now my question is How to implement the primary key of the City as an Entity in Java @Entity public class Country implements Serializable { private String countryName; @Id public String getCountryName() { return this.countryName; } } @Entity public class City implements Serializable { private CityPK cityPK; private Country country; @EmbeddedId public CityPK getCityPK() { return this.cityPK; } } @Embeddable public class CityPK implements Serializable { public String cityName; public String countryName; } Now as we know that the relationship from Country to City is OneToMany and to show this relationship in the above code, I have added a country variable in City class. But then we have duplicate data(countryName) stored in two places in the City class: one in the country object and other in the cityPK object. But on the other hand, both are necessary: countryName in cityPK object is necessary because we implement composite primary keys in this way. countryName in country object is necessary because it is the standard way of showing relashionship between objects. How to get around this problem?

• Ninject giving NullReferenceException

  I'm using asp.net MVC 2 and Ninject 2. The setup is very simple. Controller calls service that calls repository. In my controller I use inject to instantiate the service classes with no problem. But the service classes don't instantiate the repositories, giving me NullReferenceException. public class BaseController : Controller { [Inject] public IRoundService roundService { get; set; } } This works. • Entity Framework looking for wrong column

  I'm brand new to the Entity Framework and trying to learn all it can offer. I'm currently working my way through the MVC Music Store tutorial which includes the following code: public ActionResult Browse(string genre) { // Retrieve Genre and its Associated Albums from database var genreModel = storeDB.Genres.Include("Albums") .Single(g => g.Name == genre); return View(genreModel); } as I'm working in VB I converted it like so: Function Browse(ByVal genre As String) As ActionResult 'Retrieve Genre and its Associated Albums from database Dim genreModel = storeDB.Genres.Include("Albums"). _ Single(Function(g) g.Name = genre) Return(View(genreModel)) End Function The problem is I'm getting the following exception: Invalid column name 'GenreGenreId'. Which I know is true, but I can't for the life of my work out where it's getting 'GenreGenreId' from. Probably a basic question but I'll appreciate any help in the right direction. • gcc problem with explicit template instantiation?

  It is my understanding that either a declaration or typedef of a specialization ought to cause a template class to be instantiated, but this does not appear to be happening with gcc. E.g. I have a template class, template class Foo {}; I write class Foo<double>; or typedef Foo<double> DoubleFoo; but after compilation the symbol table of the resulting object file does not contain the members of Foo. If I create an instance: Foo<double> aFoo; then of course the symbols are all generated. Has anyone else experienced this and/or have an explanation?

  I've defined a private class that extends WebViewClient and set my WebView's client to an instance of that class (webView01.setWebViewClient(new Callback());).   I have a series of divs like this: <div id="available-posts"> <div class="post" id="unique_id"> <a href="#" class="addme">Add</a> Some text </div> <div class="post" id="unique_id"> <a href="#" class="addme">Add</a> Some text </div> </div> The unique_id is a different number for each of the divs. Now i have a new empty div like this <div class="related-posts"></div> And i clone items in there. The thing is that i want to check if an item is already cloned. If it is i want to stop it from being cloned again. Where am I going wrong here?

• Action property of interface type

  Hi, guys. With my understading, the nature of a Action is that properties can be pushed w/ request parameter values. And, one wonderful feature is that Struts2 allows you to directly populate parameter values against Class type property ;) Assuming there exists a Action and property class as below, class Action extends ActionSupport { User user; @Action(value="hello" {@result=(.......)}) public void execute() { ........ } ..... public void setUser(User user) { this.user = user; } public User getUser() { return this.user; } } class User { String name; ..... public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } public String getName() { return this.name; } } you could populate User class property by doing like this. http://...../hello.action?user.name=John or via jsp page Then, I realize that there are actually people make an Action property as a Interface type. My question is what is the reason behind this. If there is a sample code demonstrating it will be great. Thanks in advance!

• ASP.NET ListView, custom DataSources, and editing items

  The MSDN walkthroughs provide a number of examples where you can drag a DataSource from the toolbox, run through some simple configuration steps, then drag a ListView onto the screen, point it at the DataSource, and hey - you've got full table editing. Now I'm trying to write my own DataSource class (a class that implements System.Web.UI.IDataSource) and my own DataSourceView class. I now assign an instance of this custom DataSource class to the ListView.DataSource propery. The display of all the items is working well. However, updating, inserting and deleting just is not working. I'm overriding every function I can in my DataSourceView class, and they just aren't being called. This is such a huge topic, I'll focus this question on one simple example: When you press the "Edit" button (the button inside the ItemTemplate with a CommandName of "Edit", you expect the ItemTemplate to be replaced by an EditItemTemplate. This did not happen. The only way I could get it to happen was to handle the onitemediting event. protected void _listViewPublicHolidays_ItemEditing(object sender, ListViewEditEventArgs e) { _listViewPublicHolidays.EditIndex = e.NewEditIndex; _listViewPublicHolidays.DataBind(); } This is hardly a problem, but how come I had to do it at all? In the MSDN walkthroughs where I attach a ListView to a LinqDataSource, this code doesn't have to be written. Can someone who's been here before hazard a guess as to what would be different or missing in my custom datasource?

  i m facing the a problem with tinymce. when i apply .newclasss{color:#c9c9c9;} in HTML editor of TinyMce, it removes tags when i click update. My valid elements are follows: extended_valid_elements : "hr[class|width|size|noshade],font[face|size|color|style],span[class|align|style],img[href|src|name|title|onclick|align|alt|title|width|height|vspace|hspace],iframe[id|class|width|size|noshade|src|height|frameborder|border|marginwidth|marginheight|target|scrolling|allowtransparency],style" Also it is removing , and tags.. Can anyone help please??

  Hi, I'm having a problem writing a regular expression for matching HTML tags. I found a similar entry here, but this didn't quite work in my case. Here's my test string: <div id="div0" class="myclass">here's some text that may include whitespace</div><div id="div1" class="myclass"> and some more here </div> And here's my regex based on the aforementioned entry: <div[^>]*class="myclass">[^~]*?<\/div> Note that I need to match the first instance of <div /> with class of "myclass." • NSTableview not loading

  I have an NSTableView that is inside an NSView. The whole view is being controlled by a class that has a superclass of NSObject. I send some data over to that class from another one, however, the tableview isn't refreshing, even with [myTable reloadData] The table's delegates and all that fancy stuff is connected to that NSObject class.
