However the results are inconsistent with my textbook results, and sometimes even ridiculously inconsistent. Please point out what is wrong with the code.   • How can I run code in a C# class definition each time any instance of the class is deserialized?

    I am trying to derive a class from ObservableCollection and I need to run just a single line of code each and every time any instance of this class is deserialized. Am I forced to re-write all of the serialization manually?

    As part of my web project ,I have designed a div tag like a window form as Shown in the figure.I just want to fill details in the textbox when the user clicks the edit label.The div is Invisible at first time. when the user clicks on edit label ,the form-div get fadein(visible). During this time an event should fired in the code behind. But I am not getting any events in the code behind like visisbility changed or some thing like that. Where can i get this event. Simply i want to display appropriate company name in the textbox in the div , when the user clicks the edit label in each row.

  • My Ruby Code: How can I improve? (Java to Ruby guy)

    Greetings, I get the feeling that I'm using ruby in an ugly way and possibly missing out on tonnes of useful features. I was wondering if anyone could point out a cleaner better way to write my code which is pasted here. The code itself simply scrapes some data from yelp and processes it into a json format. The reason I'm not using hash.to_json is because it throws some sort of stack error which I can only assume is due to the hash being too large (It's not particularly large).   • Can you explain what's going on in this Ruby code?

    I'm trying to learn Ruby as well as Ruby on Rails right now. I'm following along with Learning Rails, 1st edition, but I'm having a hard time understanding some of the code. I generally do work in C, C++, or Java, so Ruby is a pretty big change for me. I'm currently stumped with the following block of code for a database migrator: def self.up create_table :entries do |t| t.string :name t.timestamps end end Where is the t variable coming from? What does it actually represent? Is it sort of like the 'i' in a for(i=0;i<5;i++) statement? Also, where is the :entries being defined at? (entries is the name of my controller, but how does this function know about that?)

    I have multiple models which all have a FK to the same model. All I know is the FK how can I determine which of the models has the FK attached? (The FK can only be in one of them, for the record in this case I only added two models but in the real world app there are multiple possible x amount of models which have the FK to modelA)

    I'm working on a tutorial to build a media player in Silverlight and am trying to wire up an EventHandler to the timer.Tick event of a DispatchTimer object so that the time of the video is synced with a Slider object. The sample code is in C# and I can't for the life of me figure out the proper syntax in VB.NET with RaiseEvent and/or Handles to wire up the event. Below is the relevant C# code. Hopefully that wasn't thoroughly confusing! The code may be more self-explanatory than that. I've done that once before and understand the theory, but I'm very hazy on the details, and would appreciate some guidance on what that would look like - assuming this is a viable approach.   • Django json serialization problem

    I am having difficulty serializing a django object. The problem is that there are foreign keys. I want the serialization to have data from the referenced object, not just the index. For example, I would like the sponsor data field to say "sponsor.last_name, sponsor.first_name" rather than "13".     Hello, Many UML tools claim to do forward / reverse engineering of Java code. However, it turns out from prior experience, that few tools really work in this area. I haven't been doing Java projects for 3 years, and want to get up to date with the current status in this area. In Particular I am interested in Creating State Machine Skeletons from Diagram, be able to create hooks to my own code, and be able to reverse engineer the State Diagram back (Do not want to change the State Machine itself outside the Tool).   • Trying to right click on code in VS2008 causes lockup.

    Working on a Win32 DLL using Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and, since yesterday, whenever I try to right click on code, to go to a variable definition for example, VS completely locks up and I have to manually kill the process. To make it even weirder, whenever this happens the devenv.exe process uses exactly 25% of the CPU. And I mean exactly, never 24%, never 26%, always 25% Also, I've run ProcMon to see if devenv is actually doing something, but it's doing absolutely nothing external of the process. No disk, network, registry access. Nothing. This is getting really aggravating because I have a large code base to deal with and the only other way of jumping to the definition is to first search for it. Has anyone run into a similar issue? And, better yet, know a fix?

  • Strategies for generating Zend Cache Keys

    ATM i'm manually generating a cache key based on the method name and parameters, then follow to the normal cache pattern. I want to avoid the duplication of parameters to the cache creation method and also to the model method, so i'm thinking of moving the caching logic away from my controller class and into model class packaged in './model/DbTable', but this seems incorrect since the DB model should only handle SQL operations. Any suggestions on how i can implement a clean patterned solution?

  • Why can't untrusted code change the log level under Java Logging?

    I'm have a Java app that also runs as an applet. The app also happens to use a library called BasicPlayer to play .ogg files. BasicPlayer has a built-in logger that uses Apache Logging Commons to create a logger for BasicPlayer.class using the built-in Java logger. The only way that I know about to turn off the BasicPlayer logging is to run this code: Logger.getLogger(BasicPlayer.class.getName()).setLevel(Level.OFF); This works fine when running as a regular app. However, when running as an applet, this code will throw a SecurityException because for some reason applets can't change the log level of non-anonymous loggers (see here for a sorta-explanation). Why would they do this? Who cares if an applet changes the log level?

    I noticed to my surprise that an event created with dispatchEvent(event) gets handled directly when called, and not together with other events at a specific phase of the frame loop. Two main reasons of having an event system are: so that you can call code B from code A, but still want to prioritize code A. to make sure there are no freaky loopedy loops where code A calls code B calls code A ... I wonder what Ansca's rationale behind having events being handled directly this way is. And does Corona handle loopedy loops and other such pitfalls gracefully?   • spring json writes more json then i want

    I am using the json spring view in order to return a simple JSON object from my controller. The problem is that its returning more data then i want. it is returning the validation errors and things inside of my model when all i am doing is this in the controller: Map model = new HashMap() model.put("success", "true"); return new ModelAndView("jsonView", model); If you look at the bottom of this page in the docs it looks like i am getting back data that POST would return. i am not doing a post, i am doing a GET by going directly to the URL with params. How do i get this lib to return just the data in my model?

  • xcode - warning there's no getter/setter for property not even mentioned in the code!!

    I got the warning : property 'textField' requires method '-textField' to be defined - use @synthesize, @dynamic or provide a method implementation. Now, there is no such property defined in my project! More bizarre, if I just click save in Interface builder and build again, the build is successful - though, right on the line with '@end' the warning appears. Also weird: if I begin to write some code ..and then delete it just the way it was before writing it (maybe not code..anything) and then build&go the warning with the textField appears again. Could be a bug of sdk? What could be happening?

  • How can I change or remove HttpRequest input arguments in a HttpModule

    Is it possible to change or remove http request form inputs in an httpmodule? My goal is to create a security IHttpmodule that will check the request for reasonable values, such as limits on acceptable input and query parameter length, or use the AntiXSS Sanitizer to remove threats, log potential hack attempts, etc. before a request is passed on to a processor. Because this is a cross cutting concern I'd prefer to find a solution that applies to all requests and affects all ways request values could be accessed, Reqest.Form, Action(model), Action(FormCollection), HttpContext.Current.Request.Form, etc. I'm using MVC and have considered creating custom model binders to clean the data before creating the model instance. But that would be application specific, require remembering to register every model binder and only apply to Action(model).

What is the common technique for C++ programmers on Windows to locate the place of an error that has occured on user computer? Our project is compiled with Release configuration, PDB file is generated. I hope my question is not too naive.
