  • Sphinx without using an auto_increment id

    - by squeeks
I am current in planning on creating a big database (2+ million rows) with a variety of data from separate sources. I would like to avoid structuring the database around auto_increment ids to help prevent against sync issues with replication, and also because each item inserted will have a alphanumeric product code that is guaranteed to be unique - it seems to me more sense to use that instead. I am looking at a search engine to index this database with Sphinx looking rather appealing due to its design around indexing relational databases. However, looking at various tutorials and documentation seems to show database designs being dependent on an auto_increment field in one form or another and a rather bold statement in the documentation saying that document ids must be 32/64bit integers only or things break. Is there a way to have a database indexed by Sphinx without auto_increment fields as the id?

  • how to get the value of an php array in jQuery

    - by user1933824
i have a PHP code that will obtain the total images of a certain website via CURL, and put it inside an PHP loop. $z=1; for ($i=0;$i<=sizeof($images_array);$i++) { ....<img src = "$images_array[$i]" id="$z"> .. $z++; } a user can then scan through the array with a prev/next button and the current image being shown will be displayed in my $('$current_image').val(1); $.post("curl_fetch.php?url="+ extracted_url, { }, function(response){ $('#loader').html($(response).fadeIn('slow')); $('#current_image').val(1); // insert loop value in .val() when i click a button, i want to get the value of the array, and not the loop value $(function() { $(document).on('click','.submit', function () { var img = $('#current_image').val(); //get the array value, not the loop value alert(img); });}); now, how do i properly get the array value in my $('#current_image').val(1); in Jquery.

  • Insert multiple attributes into html tag using JavaScript and not between tags

    - by WilliamK
From a previous quest we asked about inserting a new attribute into a html tag and the code below does the job nicely, but how should it be coded to add multiple attributes, for example changing.. <body bgcolor="#DDDDDD"> to... <body bgcolor="#DDDDDD" topmargin="0" leftmargin="0"> The code that works for a single attribute is... document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0].setAttribute("id", "something"); How to modify this for inserting multiple attributes?

  • Changing class of h2 inside specific div

    - by user1985060
I want to make it so that everytime you click on an 'h2' tag, the 'input' inside gets selected and the 'h2' tag changes background, but if another 'h2' tag is clicked, the current highlight and 'input' selection changes accordingly. problem is that I have 3 different that do the same and with my code all the 3 forms are affected rather one. How do i limit my changes to only be contained to that form. Here is some code for clarification ' <form> ... <h2 onclick="document.getElementById(1001).checked='True' $('h2').removeClass('selected'); $(this).addClass('selected'); "> CONTENT <input type="radio" name="radio" id="1001" value="1001" /> </h2> ... </form>

  • How can I use Javascript to access sub-elements?

    - by Steve
I am dynamically creating forms dynamically according to a users actions. It is an entry-box and a two "buttons" for each instance. Each instance will be wrapped in a unique div tag. What I tried to do without success is when I dynamically create the "button" I attach a function with the input variable containing the div of its instance. This a brief excerpt: var newDivClass = document.getElementById("instance"+1); button1.innerHTML = "<a href=\"#\" onclick=\"buttons("+newDivClass+");\" id=\"button1\"> Button1 </a>"; function buttons(selected) { //I want this to select the first instance //of button1 found within div newDivClass selected.getElementById("button1"); //I also tried //this.getElementById("button1"); //selected.getChildren[0]; } The problem appears to be in passing newDivClass to the the actual function.

  • Append an onClick event to an anchor tag using jquery?

    - by M.Woodard
I am trying to add an onClick event to an anchor tag ... Previously i had ... <a href="somlink.html" onClick="pageTracker._link(this.href); return false;"> But i am trying to avoid the inline onClick event because it interferes with another script.. So using jQuery i am trying the following code ... <script> $(document).ready(function() { $('a#tracked').attr('onClick').click(function() {window.onbeforeunload = null; pageTracker._link(this.href); return false; }); }); </script> with the html like so <a id="tracked" href="something.html"> So my question is should this be working, and if not what would be the best solution?

  • CSS and JQuery: spaces inside image name break code of url()

    - by Shyam
Hi, I have a page that is supposed to display a larger version of an image when hovered over a thumbnail. I have a 'div' with an ID and the JQuery code is as following: $(document).ready(function(){ $('img').hover(function() { var src = $("#im" + this.id).attr("src"); $('#viewlarge').css('backgroundImage','url(' + src +')'); return false; }); }); The images I use, are generated by a Ruby script that "generate" an image with a similar, yet different id. However, sometimes, photo's are uploaded that have "spaces" inside. My developer tools tell me that the background-image is not set correctly, yet the image path is correct and the browser don't have problems finding the image. My question is, can I somehow sanitize the url 'src', so spaces won't be a problem? I am aware of doing this server side, yet I would like to know how to do this with JQuery/JS too. Thanks!

I am wondering how to grab the selected item's text value on jquery autocomplete. I have initialised jquery as following : $(document).ready(function (){ $("input#autocomplete").autocomplete({ source: postcodelist, select: function (event, ui) { AutoCompleteSelectHandler(event, ui) } }); }); And I have created a function function AutoCompleteSelectHandler(event, ui) { }. Inside this function I want to some extra handling to feed data into correct textboxes but I can't figure out how to grab the text value of the selected item. I did google a bit and tried examples but I can't seem to get it working. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks a lot advance.

  • Navigating sharepoint with a treeview

    - by linqmonkey
I'm trying to replace the navigation on our sharepoint site with a treeview. It's a large site with up to 4 subsite leves in places. All I need it to do is show a consistent structure from page to page show only sites and pages The default sharepoint treeview seems to do neither of these things (doesn't display items from the parent site, includes document libraries but not pages). Does anyone have any idea how to achieve this? We're using the publishing site template throughout if that makes a difference. I've tried binding the tree to the datasource the quick launch uses but I guess from the error message they expect differently named properties.

    - by Aaron
I have a textbox in a asp.net update control. When I click a button on the webpage, the value of this textbox got modified. And I want to use javascript to get the modified value. The code I use was: var kmlString = document.getElementById('<%=TextBox1.ClientID%>').getAttribute("value"); It only got the original value of my textbox. I am wondering how can I get the latest value of the textbox through javascript. The browsers I intent to use is Firefox and Safari. So it would be great if the script can work for both browsers. Thanks very much!

  • Is there a faster way to remove un-referenced controls from a Form's designer file?

    - by Eric
I started looking into the designer file of one of my Forms and noticed that a lot of the old controls I thought I had deleted are still being instantiated but are not actually used on the form. Is there any easy way to clean up these controls from the designer file that are not being used? Right now I've printed out a list of all the private fields at the bottom of the designer file that reference the controls of the form. I'm going down the list one by one trying to determine if the control is actually used or not, and then deleting those that I find are not on the form. The document outline is useful for figuring out what controls are on the form, but this is still a rather tedious process. Does anyone have a better way?

  • jQuery filter selector, is this right?

    - by fire
It seems to work ok but I don't know if this can be impoved on or not. I want to select any HTML tag that has a class of edit-text-NUM or edit-html-NUM and change the color of it. Here is what I am using... jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('*') .filter(function() { return this.className.match(/edit-(text|html)-\d/); }) .css({ 'color': '#ff0000' }); }); Does that look ok and is the regex ok? *edit: Also is this efficient? I am aware that using jQuery('*') might be a bit of a hog if it's a large page. It only has to work from <body> down so maybe it could be changed?

  • how to save canvas as png image?

    - by sneaky
I have a canvas element with a drawing in it, and I want to create a button that when clicked on, it will save the image as a png file. So it should open up the save, open, close dialog box... I do it using this code var canvas = document.getElementById("myCanvas"); window.open(canvas.toDataURL("image/png")); But when I test it out in IE9, a new window opens up saying "the web page cannot be displayed" and the url of it is: data:image/png;base64,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 Anyone know how to fix this?
