• How to set PATH to another variable value with spaces in Windows batch file

  I've got a Windows batch script issue that I'm bashing my head against (no pun intended). The problematic script looks like this: if defined _OLD_VIRTUAL_PATH ( set PATH=%_OLD_VIRTUAL_PATH% ) When I run it and _OLD_VIRTUAL_PATH is set I get: \Microsoft was unexpected at this time. _OLD_VIRTUAL_PATH is a variable that was originally set from PATH and it contains spaces - I'm pretty sure that's the problem. But what's the solution? It runs successfully if I enclose it in quotes, but I don't think the entire value of the PATH variable is supposed to be in quotes.

• Making swedish characthers show properly in Windows Command Prompt using Python in Notepad++

  The title explains it well. I have set up Notepad++ to open the python script in the command prompt when I press F8 but all Swedish characters looks messed up when opening in CMD but perfectly fine in e.g IDLE. This simple example code: #!/usr/bin/env python #-*- coding: UTF-8 -*- print "åäö" Looks like this. As you can see the output of the bath file I use to open Python in cmd below shows the characthers correctly but not the python script above it. How do i fic this?

• jquery issues - it wont change it accordingly

  My coding isnt linking properly , its meant to use jquery to detect the OS and change the link accordingly , however it isn't. • Limit calls to external database with Python CGI

  I've got a Python CGI script that pulls data from a GPS service; I'd like this information to be updated on the webpage about once every 10s (the max allowed by the GPS service's TOS). But there could be, say, 100 users viewing the webpage at once, all calling the script. I think the users' scripts need to grab data from a buffer page that itself only upates once every ten seconds. How can I make this buffer page auto-update if there's no one directly viewing the content (and not accessing the CGI)? Are there better ways to accomplish this?

  Greetings and thank you in advance for the help. I created a user control in VB.NET that uses a jQuery datepicker. I am at an impasse. The code I have works for one datepicker control on the page but because I can only register the client script once, it will not work for multiple instances/datepickers on the same page. What is the best way to go about initiating the jQuery script for this control so I can use it multiple times on one page? Can I append to ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript? Thanks again.

  I'm new to Python so forgive me if this is basic, I've searched but can't find an answer. I'm trying to convert a Perl script into Python (3.x) which connects to a remote server and copies the files in a given directory to the local machine. Integrity of the transfer is paramount and there are several steps built-in to ensure a complete and accurate transfer. The first step is to get a complete listing of the files to be passed to rsync. The Perl script has the following lines to accomplish this: @dir_list = `ssh user@host 'find $remote_dir -type f -exec /bin/dirname {} \\;'`; @file_list = `ssh user@host 'find $remote_dir -type f -exec /bin/basename {} \\;'`; The two lists are then joined to create $full_list. Rather than open two separate ssh instances I'd like to open one and use os.walk to get the information using: for remdirname, remdirnames, remfilesnames in os.walk(remotedir): for remfilename in remfilesnames: remfulllist.append(os.path.join(remdirname, remfilename)) Thank you for any help you can provide.

  Hi all I'm stuck. Tried all the angles but i cant seem to get it working. I have 2 inline calendars. When i select a date from the dtFrm calendar it sets the date on the dtTo calendar as expected. I just cant seem to set the EndDate of the dtTo calendar. Anyone manage to solve this one? Thanks! This is completely reproducible, only happens in the live environment, and I'd say ~50% of the refreshes work while 50% do not. This only happens in production. Any ideas?

  What I'm trying to do is to take the highest two values out of 4 possible variables and add them together, while ignoring the lesser two values. My values will be anywhere between 1 and 5. So, for example, if I have Trait1, Trait2, Trait3 and Trait4 with the following assigned values: 3, 3, 2, 1, the script will pick up the 3 and the 3, but not the 2 and the 1. If I change the values around so that I have 4, 3, 1, 5, the script will pick up the 4 and the 5, but not the 3 and the 1. How would I go about doing this? Thank you in advance.

• JQuery, Load() contents with plugins

  I know this is not a completely new question, but none of the answers solved my problem... I have built a little menu that uses load() to load image galleries (as external html files) into a specified div ("content"). The said galleries make use of a JQuery plugin (SlideJS). Now I know that load() does not work for script tags and that I need to use $.getscript in the callback function in order to run the scripts, but it does not work. I have two .js files that need to be loaded: one is the plugin itself and another one is a smaller script with a preloader and the animations for the captions. I can't seem to merge them together; if I put them into the same document, the script won't run. So I tried just using $.getscript to load the two files. I thought of just having the div embedded in the main document and just showing it on click, but I'll have at least 4 galleries with about 8 to 10 images each... its a lot of images to load in the main page, so I don't think its the best way. if you need me to post any more code, please ask!   I have an ORM class called Person, which wraps around a person table: After setting up the connection to the db etc, I run the ff statement. people = session.query(Person).all() The person table does not contain any data (as yet), so when I print the variable people, I get an empty list. I renamed the table referred to in my ORM class People, to people_foo (which does not exist). I then run the script again. I was surprised that no exception was thrown when attempting to access a table that does not exist. I therefore have the following 2 questions: How may I setup SQLAlchemy so that it propagates db errors back to the script?
