  • ASP.NET - programmatically generated delete button

    - by WedTM
I'm trying to create a simple button that deletes a row from the database. I would like to set the ID of the control to something like delete_MATERIALID_button however, when I do this: <asp:Button ID='delete_<%# Eval("MatID") %>_button' runat="server" Text="Delete" /> I get an error that the name can't be generated like that. I know that there must be a simple solution, I just can't figure it out.

  • compile a single ASP.NET (.aspx) page from the command line

    - by JoelFan
I have a Perl script that calls aspnet_compiler.exe to compile a large ASP.NET website. The problem is that it takes very long to run. Is there any way to compile just a single .aspx file from the command line? (I think that would suit the needs of my script) It seems that all aspnet_compiler.exe can do is compile at a directory level.

  • Cannot get Request.Form by name in ASP.NET

    - by Nissan Fan
I have an ASP.NET page which utilizes jQuery for an autocomplete-type scenario. The jQuery tucks the actual selected values into a hidden field it creates on the fly, but for some reason I cannot get the value of that standard HTML field on postback by calling Request.Form["HiddenFieldName"]. I can see it by ordinal in the Request.Form object, but if I add/remove controls it will break. Any suggestions?

Can anybody recommend some quality ASP.NET hosting providers that allow you to multiple domains without making you use a "reseller" account or purchase multiple accounts. I really only need email accounts for one of the domains. I'm looking for something about $20 to $45 USD.

  • ASP.net C# Add controls automatically to a data form

    - by user333817
I am using ASP.net with C# and am looking for a tool that given a SQL table name, reads the table columns and populates an aspx form with controls (textboxes with matching labels). Something like ComponentOne InputPanel, except that this product only works for WinForms. See demo of ComponentOne InputPanel: http://www.componentone.com/newimages/Products/Videos/StudioEnterprise/InputPanel/ComponentOneInputPanel.html

  • Asp.Net - When does it restart the application

    - by Seattle Leonard
I know that whenever you add/remove/modify any file in the "App_Code", "App_GlobalResources", and "bin" directories that ASP.NET will recompile and essentially restart the application. My question is : "What happens to any threads currently executing durring the change?" Do they finish? Is a Thread.Abort Exception thrown? What happens if the application itself makes a change in any of those directories?

  • About Backward Compatibility of .NET Framework 4

    - by wuminqi
We have an WPF Application build on .net framework 3.5. Some testers find if they uninstall .net framework 3.5, but install .net framework 4.0, our APP fails to launch itself. Dose this mean that .net framework 4.0 does not include all 3.5 libs, and users have to install .net 3.5 even though they have 4.0? I see here are some migration issues listed by Microsoft http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee941656.aspx#windows_presentation_foundation_wpf Are they all breaking changes so that the backward compatibility is ruined? Thanks

  • Why not use GDI+ from ASP.NET

    - by roygbiv
I've been told that using GDI+ from ASP.NET is dangerous and undefined. Is that because there is no guarantee of a Device Context? Can someone explain? What are some of the alternatives? Here is the source: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.drawing.aspx

  • Classic ASP shopping cart discounts

    - by Neil Bradley
Hi there, I have a Classic ASP shopping cart, but I need to add in an option to enter a promo code and (if valid) apply a discount to the total. There is a promo codes table that stores the promotional codes and the value of the discount to apply. So I was wondering if someone might be able to help me integrate this? Happy to pay for the time. I think it may only take an hour or so at most. :S

  • Application lifetime in ASP.NET

    - by fearofawhackplanet
This should be a simple question but I haven't managed to find the answer on google. I would like to know, in terms an idiot can understand, exactly what application lifetime means in ASP.NET (and therefore when you can expect application start and end events to run). I assumed it would be when you run and stop the app in IIS, but I've read things that suggest it's related to number of requests.
