I have an AutoMapper issue that has been driving me crazy for way too long now. A similar question was also posted on the AutoMapper user site but has not gotten much love.
The summary is that I have a container class that holds a Dictionary of components. The components are a derived object of a common base class. I also have a parallel structure that I am using as DTO objects to which I want to
map.
The error that gets generated seems to say that the mapper cannot
map between two of the classes that I have included in the CreateMap calls. I think the error has to do with the fact that I have a Dictionary of objects that are not part of the container‘s hierarchy.
I apologize in advance for the length of the code below. My simple test cases work. Needless to say, it’s only the more complex case that is failing.
