Machine A Front end website http://www.site.com Password protected site using Forms Authentication Machine B WCF Application Service http://service1.site.com/DoSomething.svc Machine C WCF Application Service http://service2.site.com/DoSomething.svc The WCF services on Machine B and Machine C should check that the request from Machine A has been authenticated. How can i check that the request is authenticated across the different machines? I only care that the request is authenticated and not concerned about securing the message body (because we are not sending any sensitive data across the wire), so SSL is not required. What authentication methods can i use for the above scenario?

  here is how posterous works, I make a A record of DNS of my domain (blog.mydomainname.com) to posterous IP address 67.207.139.81 , in the manage panel of posterous , i put my custom domain (blog.meetingly.com). Then i can reach my posterous blog http://mydomainname.posterous.com from http://blog.mydomainname.com url. How posterous implements this? Is this a DNS level thing or web server level setting? • Wordpress rewrite image path

  I've got a website that is running WordPress. It has several pictures that I am retrieving from a datafeed. The images from the datafeed are at locations like: http://image4.example.com/640/examples/example.jpg http://image4.example.com/640/example.jpg The image4 and 640 locations can change. I want to rewrite the images to where they show as from my website. I've tried: rewritecond %{HTTP_HOST} !^image4.example.com$ rewriterule ^([^/]+)$ http://image4.mywebsite.com/$1 [L,R=301] but it doesn't work. I don't know much about Mod Rewrite. any help would be appreciated, and no I'm not hijacking the images, i have permission to use them and the bandwidth. Thanks -Brad

  Just now my T60 screen got "black" (so no display). On my second monitor: no problems so the vga output works. symptom: Screen blanks / no display but works on second monitor steps to reproduce: - boot - wait (it does not matter what you do you do not have to login or anything) - (now the monitor of the laptop slowly begins to make a ssssssssHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHWOEOEssssssss noice of about 10 seconds) - right after the sounds ends the monitor gets black times seem to be the same each time. software: installed no new software before/after, running zone alarm and antivirus. other: it does not feel hot in any place, there dont seem to be running processes with strange behaviour. warranty: out of warranty what was i doing: typing text on a website and doing some php coding in a text editor.   I've been fighting my way through the process of migrating a (previously self-hosted) WCF application to IIS7 (I've never used IIS before and I realise that this is a very simplistic question but I failed to google/SO the answer so far). My service is hosted at http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/SampleWebsite/Service.svc but when I access it with ?wsdl all the references that should read http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/ are actually set to the window machine's local network name (i.e. http://localpc3/). I've tried using the WCF tool to add the external IP address to the base address section under the service I'm configuring as well as a number of setting inside IIS but I can't seem to track down the correct place. Where do I set this? IIS manager, web.config, somewhere else?

• Drupal base URL and root relative paths.

  I changed my Drupal base url in settings.php to " http://www.example.com/subfolder " but root relative paths are still pointing to " http://www.example.com " and not to the correct "subfolder". Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I flushed cache re-edited a couple links to make sure but they're still pointing to the root domain and not to the correct subfolder.

When I call context.Response.Redirect(@"http://www.myRedirect.org");the correct page is shown but also the address is shown in the browser. And that is exactly what I do not want.   Is there a way to append something to the query string with no value set? I would like to see this kind of URL being generated: http://local/things?magic. What I'm looking for is when the user goes to http://local/other?magic then every URL in the generated page would contain magic in the end. Following code is almost a solution but it gives me http://local/things?magic=. There is an extra = that I don't want there. def default_url_options(options) if params.has_key?("magic") { :magic => "" } end end Setting { :magic => nil } will remove the magic entirely from the generated URLs.

I realize after reading this (http://www.asp.net/web-api/overview/extensibility/using-the-web-api-dependency-resolver) that these interfaces have changed, but I am not sure how to apply this change to how I use Autofac. Do i need to wait for a new release from Autofac or is there another way I can get past this.

• Web Service URL change is not recognized

  I deployed in a production environment a .net solution that consumes a web service added as "Service reference" in visual studio. Today the endpoint URL has changed, and I modified that URL in web.config. But when I run the solution I get the error: System.ServiceModel.FaultException: Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction: http://93.62.150.200/LogEvent. Now that sound strange to me. As you can see, the IP is 93.62.... but the new value is different. The web.config entry (with the new value or the URL) is: <client> <endpoint address="http://213.92.50.215/sawfc/WS_SAWFC_Int.asmx" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="wsSAWFCInterfaceSoap" contract="it.datasphere.ws.wsSAWFCInterfaceSoap" name="wsSAWFCInterfaceSoap" /> </client> I cannot reach the new web service from dev environment, so I cannot modify the Service reference there.
