  • How to detect invalid image URL with JAVA?

    - by Cataclysm
I have a method to download image from URL. As like below.. public static byte[] downloadImageFromURL(final String strUrl) { InputStream in; ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); try { URL url = new URL(strUrl); in = new BufferedInputStream(url.openStream()); byte[] buf = new byte[2048]; int n = 0; while (-1 != (n = in.read(buf))) { out.write(buf, 0, n); } out.close(); in.close(); } catch (IOException e) { return null; } return out.toByteArray(); } I have an image url and it is valid. for example. https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTxfYM-hnD-Z80tgWdIgQKchKe-MXVUfTpCw1R5KkfJlbRbgr3Zcg My problem is I don't want to download if image is really not exists.Like .... https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTxfYM-hnD-Z80tgWdIgQKchKe-MXVUfTpCw1R5KkfJlbRbgr3Zcgaaaaabbbbdddddddddddddddddddddddddddd This image shouldn't be download by my method. So , how can I know the giving image URL is not really exists. I don't want to validate my URL (I think that may not my solution ). So, I googled for that. From this article ... How to check if a URL exists or returns 404 with Java? and Java check if file exists on remote server using its url But this con.getResponseCode() will always return status code "200". This mean my method will also download invalid image urls. So , I output my bufferStream as like... System.out.println(in.read(buf)); Invalid image URL produces "43". So , I add these lines of codes in my method. if (in.read(buf) == 43) { return null; } It is ok. But I don't think that will always satisfy. Has another way to get it ? am I right? I would really appreciate any suggestions. This problem may struct my head. Thanks for reading my question.

  • Multiple certs with one private key on apache?

    - by tenbatsu
Really fundamental question here, but nothing a quick google search is lending itself to. Do I need to generate a separate private key for each cert I use in apache? Server details: % /usr/sbin/httpd -v Server version: Apache/2.2.8 (Unix) Server built: Jan 24 2008 10:44:19 % uname -a Linux *.com 2.6.23.15-80.fc7 #1 SMP Sun Feb 10 17:29:10 EST 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux % cat /proc/versionversion 2.6.23.15-80.fc7 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.1.2 20070925 (Red Hat 4.1.2-27)) #1 SMP Sun Feb 10 17:29:10 EST 2008

  • Problems using LightBox 2 with IE7

    - by Ebircsa
I'm having a problem with IE7 when clicking on images that open up using the Lightbox 2 javascript image viewer. Instead of overlaying the image on the current page it opens the image into a separate page. Not sure if this is an AJAX problem possibly ? Works fine in Firefox. Anybody else come across this before ?

  • load page with inactive scrollbar

    - by atwellpub
I have a page that scrolls through images, some taller than the others. When a tall image loads it auto-creates a scrollbar in the browser window, causing a width jerk. Is there a way to load a scroll bar regardless of if it is needed, and when a tall image apears it activates itself accordingly, then deactivates its self accordingly when the image changes to a shorter image? Thank you!

  • Convert list of dicts to string

    - by John
I'm very new to Python, so forgive me if this is easier than it seems to me. I'm being presented with a list of dicts as follows: [{'directMember': 'true', 'memberType': 'User', 'memberId': '[email protected]'}, {'directMember': 'true', 'memberType': 'User', 'memberId': '[email protected]'}, {'directMember': 'true', 'memberType': 'User', 'memberId': '[email protected]'}] I would like to generate a simple string of memberIds, such as [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] but every method of converting a list to a string that I have tried fails because dicts are involved. Any advice?

  • Count of Sums possibly using group_by

    - by Daniel Johnson
Say you have a user table and an order table which references user (user has_many orders) and contains an item count field. How could you efficiently ask "how many uses ordered how many items?" That is, to generate something along the lines of: Number of users | sum of items ------------------------------- 5 users | 1 item 4 users | 5 items 1 user | 7 items Thanks in advance.

  • Are there any data-binding solution that works in C++ and GWT and supports structures polymorphism?

    - by user116854
I expect it should share a common description, like XmlSchema or IDL and should generate classes for target language. I found Thrift and it's really nice solution, but it doesn't support structures polymorphism. I would like to have collections of base class objects, where I could place instances of subclasses, serialize this and deserialize at the opposite side. Some mechanism of polymorphic behavior support, like Visitor, would be a perfect. Does anybody know something suitable for these requirements?

  • Hadoop: Mapping binary files

    - by restrictedinfinity
Typically in a the input file is capable of being partially read and processed by Mapper function (as in text files). Is there anything that can be done to handle binaries (say images, serialized objects) which would require all the blocks to be on same host, before the processing can start.

  • cycle through list, change style every x seconds

    - by kjarsenal
I have a simple slideshow (jQuery Cycle) that displays an image every ten seconds (7 total images). In an adjacent div, I have a list with 7 bullet points. What's the easiest way to script a method in which the css/style of the appropriate bullet point changes as its accompanying image. The idea is to have all list items displayed, but 1 highlighted every 10 seconds?

  • Documenting functions in C++ with Doxygen

    - by Paul
I've got a project that I'm using Doxygen to generate documentation to. The documentation of the classes is fine, but I've also got some functions that I use in main() to create objects etc. I'd also like to have these into my documentation, but I have not figured how to do that. Any suggestions?
