  • Telerik RadEditor for MOSS - How do I suppress min-width inline CSS?

    - by James
I'm having an issue with the RadEditor for MOSS, I'm really baffled as to the source of this issue. I tried using Firebug to find where any min-* CSS settings are happening and search came up empty, but I know it's happening because the downloaded page markup does not have that inline CSS. I believe that one of the Telerik control emitted Javascripts is what is adding inline CSS style to the top level div of the editor, namely min-height, min-width. This is causing layout issues on my page. My question is why is it doing this, and more importantly how do I prevent this from happening? <div style="height: 300px; width: 100%; min-height: 300px; min-width: 1133px;" class="RadEditor Default reWrapper ms-input"> Related thread

  • F# vs Haskell vs Lisp - which language to learn?

    - by empi
I've heard a lot about functional programming languages and I'm willing to learn one. I guess it will be mostly for fun, however, I hope it will improve my programming skills. I have mostly C#/.NET background, so my first choice is to learn F# (because of .NET and familiarity with Visual Studio). On the on other hand, I wonder if F# has features like Lisp macros or Haskell higher order functions. Could you compare F#, Haskell and Lisp? Which one will be the language of your choice?

  • Datatemplates while using theme does not work - WPF

    - by bobjink
    I am using the theme DarkExpression from WPF Futures. It does not seem to work well with datatemplates. Scenario 1: Here is how it looks like without datatemplates: Pic 1 Code: <ListView Name="playlistListView" ItemsSource="{Binding PlaylistList}" Margin="0" SelectionChanged="DatabindedPlaylistListView_SelectionChanged" Background="{x:Null}" Opacity="0.98"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Width="Auto" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Name}"> <GridViewColumnHeader HorizontalContentAlignment="Left" Content="Playlist" Tag="Playlist"/> </GridViewColumn> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> Scenario 2: Here is how it looks like trying to use datatemplates while using the theme: Pic 2 Code: <ListView Name="playlistListView" ItemsSource="{Binding PlaylistList}" Margin="0" SelectionChanged="DatabindedPlaylistListView_SelectionChanged" Background="{x:Null}" Opacity="0.98"> <ListView.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid> <UserControls:SongDataTemplate Margin="4" /> </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ListView.ItemTemplate> </ListView> Scenario 3: Here is how it looks like trying to use datatemplates while overriding the theme: Pic3 Code: <UserControl.Resources> <Style x:Key="ListViewItemStretch" TargetType="{x:Type ListViewItem}"> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Stretch"/> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Transparent" /> </Style> </UserControl.Resources> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <ListView Name="playlistListView" ItemContainerStyle="{StaticResource ListViewItemStretch}" ItemsSource="{Binding PlaylistList}" Margin="0" SelectionChanged="DatabindedPlaylistListView_SelectionChanged" Background="{x:Null}" Opacity="0.98"> <ListView.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid> <UserControls:SongDataTemplate Margin="4" /> </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ListView.ItemTemplate> </ListView> I want to keep the theme style but I also want to use datatemplates to define how a playlist should look like. Any suggestions? Note: In scenario 2 and 3 I had to remove <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Width="Auto" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Name}"> <GridViewColumnHeader HorizontalContentAlignment="Left" Content="Playlist" Tag="Playlist"/> </GridViewColumn> </GridView> </ListView.View> Before the datatemplate would be used.

  • WPF ComboBox Binding breaks when using ControlTemplate

    - by Mitch
    I have a WPF ComboBox that has been working fine until I recently created a ControlTemplate for it to enable me to change the color of the DropDown arrow. The ComboBox still works correctly except the Bound Text value now just shows the name of the Business Object rather than the bound value. I guess that binding like Text="{Binding Path=CaseDateRange}" no longer works when using a ControlTemplate, yet the ItemsSource binding on the dropdown seems to still work fine. Can anyone offer some help with how I need to change my binding when using a ControlTemplate. The code for the ControlTemplate and ComboBox is as follows <ControlTemplate x:Key="ComboBoxControlTemplate1" TargetType="{x:Type ComboBox}"> <Grid x:Name="MainGrid" SnapsToDevicePixels="True"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> <ColumnDefinition MinWidth="{DynamicResource {x:Static SystemParameters.VerticalScrollBarWidthKey}}" Width="0"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Popup x:Name="PART_Popup" AllowsTransparency="True" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" IsOpen="{Binding IsDropDownOpen, RelativeSource={RelativeSource TemplatedParent}}" Margin="1" PopupAnimation="{DynamicResource {x:Static SystemParameters.ComboBoxPopupAnimationKey}}" Placement="Bottom" OpacityMask="#FF2A3D64"> <Microsoft_Windows_Themes:SystemDropShadowChrome x:Name="Shdw" Color="Transparent" MaxHeight="{TemplateBinding MaxDropDownHeight}" MinWidth="{Binding ActualWidth, ElementName=MainGrid}"> <Border x:Name="DropDownBorder" BorderBrush="White" BorderThickness="1" CornerRadius="3" Background="{DynamicResource DialogDarkBlue}"> <ScrollViewer x:Name="DropDownScrollViewer" > <Grid RenderOptions.ClearTypeHint="Enabled"> <Canvas HorizontalAlignment="Left" Height="0" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="0"> <Rectangle x:Name="OpaqueRect" Fill="{Binding Background, ElementName=DropDownBorder}" Height="{Binding ActualHeight, ElementName=DropDownBorder}" Width="{Binding ActualWidth, ElementName=DropDownBorder}"/> </Canvas> <ItemsPresenter x:Name="ItemsPresenter" KeyboardNavigation.DirectionalNavigation="Contained" SnapsToDevicePixels="{TemplateBinding SnapsToDevicePixels}"/> </Grid> </ScrollViewer> </Border> </Microsoft_Windows_Themes:SystemDropShadowChrome> </Popup> <ToggleButton BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" IsChecked="{Binding IsDropDownOpen, Mode=TwoWay, RelativeSource={RelativeSource TemplatedParent}}" Foreground="White"> <ToggleButton.Style> <Style TargetType="{x:Type ToggleButton}"> <Setter Property="OverridesDefaultStyle" Value="True"/> <Setter Property="IsTabStop" Value="False"/> <Setter Property="Focusable" Value="False"/> <Setter Property="ClickMode" Value="Press"/> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type ToggleButton}"> <Microsoft_Windows_Themes:ButtonChrome x:Name="Chrome" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" RenderMouseOver="{TemplateBinding IsMouseOver}" RenderPressed="{TemplateBinding IsPressed}" SnapsToDevicePixels="True"> <Grid HorizontalAlignment="Right" Width="{DynamicResource {x:Static SystemParameters.VerticalScrollBarWidthKey}}"> <Path x:Name="Arrow" Data="M0,0L3.5,4 7,0z" Fill="White" HorizontalAlignment="Center" Margin="3,1,0,0" VerticalAlignment="Center"/> </Grid> </Microsoft_Windows_Themes:ButtonChrome> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsChecked" Value="True"> <Setter Property="RenderPressed" TargetName="Chrome" Value="True"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsEnabled" Value="False"> <Setter Property="Fill" TargetName="Arrow" Value="#FFAFAFAF"/> </Trigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </ToggleButton.Style> </ToggleButton> <ContentPresenter ContentTemplate="{TemplateBinding SelectionBoxItemTemplate}" Content="{TemplateBinding SelectionBoxItem}" ContentStringFormat="{TemplateBinding SelectionBoxItemStringFormat}" HorizontalAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" IsHitTestVisible="False" Margin="{TemplateBinding Padding}" SnapsToDevicePixels="{TemplateBinding SnapsToDevicePixels}" VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}"/> </Grid> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="HasDropShadow" SourceName="PART_Popup" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Margin" TargetName="Shdw" Value="0,0,5,5"/> <Setter Property="Color" TargetName="Shdw" Value="#71000000"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="HasItems" Value="False"> <Setter Property="Height" TargetName="DropDownBorder" Value="95"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsEnabled" Value="False"> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="{DynamicResource {x:Static SystemColors.GrayTextBrushKey}}"/> <Setter Property="Background" Value="#FFF4F4F4"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsGrouping" Value="True"> <Setter Property="ScrollViewer.CanContentScroll" Value="False"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="CanContentScroll" SourceName="DropDownScrollViewer" Value="False"> <Setter Property="Canvas.Top" TargetName="OpaqueRect" Value="{Binding VerticalOffset, ElementName=DropDownScrollViewer}"/> <Setter Property="Canvas.Left" TargetName="OpaqueRect" Value="{Binding HorizontalOffset, ElementName=DropDownScrollViewer}"/> </Trigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> And the ComboBox is <ComboBox x:Name="cboSelectedCase" Text="{Binding Path=CaseDateRange}" DisplayMemberPath="CaseDateRange" SelectedValuePath="CaseID" Template="{DynamicResource ComboBoxControlTemplate1}" />

  • UITableView backgroundColor always gray on iPad

    - by rjobidon
Hi, When I set the backgroundColor for my UITableView it works fine on iPhone (device and simulator) but NOT on the iPad simulator. Instead I get a light gray background for any color I set including groupTableViewBackgroundColor. Steps to reproduce: Create a new navigation-based project. Open RootViewController.xib and set the table view style to "Grouped". Add this responder to the RootViewController:- (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor]; } Select Simulator SDK 3.2, build and run. You will get a black background (device and simulator). Select your target in the project tree. Click on Project : Upgrade Current Target for iPad. Build and run. You will get a light gray background. Revert the table view style to Plain and you will get a black background. Thanks for your help!

  • Silverlight DataGrid Header Horizontal Alignment

    - by Brandon Montgomery
    I want to change the alignment of a header on a datagrid in Silverlight, and I can't seem to figure out how to do it. Here's what I have so far: <data:DataGridTextColumn Header="#" IsReadOnly="True" ElementStyle="{StaticResource CenterAlignStyle}" Binding="{Binding OutlineNumber, Mode=OneWay}" > <data:DataGridTextColumn.HeaderStyle> <Style TargetType="prim:DataGridColumnHeader"> <Setter Property="HorizontalAlignment" Value="Center"/> </Style> </data:DataGridTextColumn.HeaderStyle> </data:DataGridTextColumn> No matter what I try, I can't seem to change the default alignment, which appears to be "left."

  • MS Chart Control Scale - Line graph show 12 months

    - by Mike
    Hi, On my X Axis, I have months. The chart shows up to 11 points, i.e. Jan - Nov of the same year, but when I add 12 points (Jan - Dec), it will do an auto label thing and change the interval for every 4 months. How can I change the graph so that it shows 12 months before it does the auto labels? Here is the server control code I am currently using. <asp:CHART ID="Chart1" runat="server" BorderColor="181, 64, 1" BorderDashStyle="Solid" BorderWidth="2" Height="296px" ImageLocation="~/TempImages/ChartPic_#SEQ(300,3)" ImageType="Png" Palette="None" Width="700px" BorderlineColor=""> <legends> <asp:Legend BackColor="Transparent" Font="Trebuchet MS, 8pt, style=Bold" IsTextAutoFit="False" Name="Default" Alignment="Center" DockedToChartArea="ChartArea1" Docking="Top" IsDockedInsideChartArea="False" Title="Legend"> </asp:Legend> </legends> <series> <asp:Series BorderColor="180, 26, 59, 105" BorderWidth="2" ChartType="Line" Color="220, 65, 140, 240" MarkerSize="6" Name="Series1" ShadowColor="Black" ShadowOffset="2" XValueType="DateTime" YValueType="Double" LabelFormat="c0" LegendText="Actual" MarkerStyle="Circle"> </asp:Series> <asp:Series BorderColor="180, 26, 59, 105" BorderWidth="2" ChartType="Line" Color="220, 224, 64, 10" MarkerSize="6" Name="Series2" ShadowColor="Black" ShadowOffset="2" XValueType="DateTime" YValueType="Double" LabelFormat="c0" LegendText="Projected" MarkerStyle="Circle"> </asp:Series> <asp:Series BorderColor="180, 26, 59, 105" BorderWidth="2" ChartArea="ChartArea1" ChartType="Line" Legend="Default" Name="Series3" LabelFormat="c0" XValueType="DateTime" YValueType="Double" Color="0, 192, 192" MarkerSize="6" ShadowColor="Black" ShadowOffset="2" LegendText="Actual Credit Limit" MarkerStyle="Circle"> </asp:Series> </series> <chartareas> <asp:ChartArea BackColor="#DEEDF7" BackGradientStyle="TopBottom" BackSecondaryColor="White" BorderColor="64, 64, 64, 64" BorderDashStyle="Solid" Name="ChartArea1" ShadowColor="Transparent"> <area3dstyle inclination="40" isclustered="False" isrightangleaxes="False" lightstyle="Realistic" perspective="9" rotation="25" wallwidth="3" /> <axisy linecolor="64, 64, 64, 64" islabelautofit="False" isstartedfromzero="False"> <LabelStyle Font="Trebuchet MS, 8.25pt, style=Bold" Format="c0" /> <majorgrid linecolor="64, 64, 64, 64" /> </axisy> <axisx linecolor="64, 64, 64, 64" intervaloffsettype="Months" intervaltype="Months" islabelautofit="False" isstartedfromzero="False"> <LabelStyle Font="Trebuchet MS, 8.25pt, style=Bold" Angle="-60" Format="MMM yy" /> <majorgrid linecolor="64, 64, 64, 64" /> </axisx> </asp:ChartArea> </chartareas> </asp:CHART> Thanks.

  • Paging through records (json data) using jQuery...

    - by Pandiya Chendur
    I have a JSON result that contains numerous records. I'd like to show the first five records in one page and create pager links which have to move to that page with five record so on. I don't want the page to refresh which is why I'm hoping for a combination of JavaScript and jQuery. My json data looks like this: {"Table" : [ {"Emp_Id" : "3","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Jerome","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Supervisior","Desig_Description" : "Supervisior of the Construction","SalaryBasis" : "Monthly","FixedSalary" : "25000.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "4","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Mohan","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Acc ","Desig_Description" : "Accountant","SalaryBasis" : "Monthly","FixedSalary" : "200.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "5","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Murugan","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Mason","Desig_Description" : "Mason","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "150.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "6","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Ram","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Mason","Desig_Description" : "Mason","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "120.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "7","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Raja","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Mason","Desig_Description" : "Mason","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "135.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "8","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Raja kumar","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Mason Helper","Desig_Description" : "Mason Helper","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "105.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "9","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Lakshmi","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Mason Helper","Desig_Description" : "Mason Helper","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "100.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "10","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Palani","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Carpenter","Desig_Description" : "Carpenter","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "200.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "11","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Annamalai","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Carpenter","Desig_Description" : "Carpenter","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "220.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "12","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "David","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Steel Fixer","Desig_Description" : "Steel Fixer","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "220.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "13","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Chandru","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Steel Fixer","Desig_Description" : "Steel Fixer","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "220.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "14","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Mani","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Steel Helper","Desig_Description" : "Steel Helper","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "175.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "15","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Karthik","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Wood Fixer","Desig_Description" : "Wood Fixer","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "195.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "16","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Bala","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Wood Fixer","Desig_Description" : "Wood Fixer","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "185.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "17","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Tamil arasi","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Wood Helper","Desig_Description" : "Wood Helper","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "185.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "18","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Perumal","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Cook","Desig_Description" : "Cook","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "105.00"}, {"Emp_Id" : "19","Identity_No" : "","Emp_Name" : "Andiappan","Address" : "Madurai","Date_Of_Birth" : "","Desig_Name" : "Watchman","Desig_Description" : "Watchman","SalaryBasis" : "Weekly","FixedSalary" : "150.00"} ] } And as of now my result looks like this, http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/2500/yuidtsum.jpg I have used jQuery for this: var jsonObj = JSON.parse(HfJsonValue); for (var i = jsonObj.Table.length - 1; i >= 0; i--) { var employee = jsonObj.Table[i]; $('<div class="resultsdiv"><br /><span class="resultName">' + employee.Emp_Name + '</span><span class="resultfields" style="padding-left:100px;">Category&nbsp;:</span>&nbsp;<span class="resultfieldvalues">' + employee.Desig_Name + '</span><br /><br /><span id="SalaryBasis" class="resultfields">Salary Basis&nbsp;:</span>&nbsp;<span class="resultfieldvalues">' + employee.SalaryBasis + '</span><span class="resultfields" style="padding-left:25px;">Salary&nbsp;:</span>&nbsp;<span class="resultfieldvalues">' + employee.FixedSalary + '</span><span style="font-size:110%;font-weight:bolder;padding-left:25px;">Address&nbsp;:</span>&nbsp;<span class="resultfieldvalues">' + employee.Address + '</span></div>') .insertAfter('#ResultsDiv'); } My image contains only 6 records as of now.   • What is in your Mathematica tool bag?

    - by Timo
We all know that Mathematica is great, but it also often lacks critical functionality. What kind of external packages / tools / resources do you use with Mathematica? I'll edit (and invite anyone else to do so too) this main post to include resources which are focused on general applicability in scientific research and which as many people as possible will find useful. Feel free to contribute anything, even small code snippets (as I did below for a timing routine). Also, undocumented and useful features in Mathematica 7 and beyond you found yourself, or dug up from some paper/site are most welcome. Please include a short description or comment on why something is great or what utility it provides. If you link to books on Amazon with affiliate links please mention it, e.g., by putting your name after the link. Packages: LevelScheme is a package that greatly expands Mathematica's capability to produce good looking plots. I use it if not for anything else then for the much, much improved control over frame/axes ticks. David Park's Presentation Package ($50 - no charge for updates) Tools: MASH is Daniel Reeves's excellent perl script essentially providing scripting support for Mathematica 7. (This is finally built in as of Mathematica 8 with the -script option.) Resources: Wolfram's own repository MathSource has a lot of useful if narrow notebooks for various applications. Also check out the other sections such as Current Documentation, Courseware for lectures, and Demos for, well, demos. Books: Mathematica programming: an advanced introduction by Leonid Shifrin (web, pdf) is a must read if you want to do anything more than For loops in Mathematica. Quantum Methods with Mathematica by James F. Feagin (amazon) The Mathematica Book by Stephen Wolfram (amazon) (web) Schaum's Outline (amazon) Mathematica in Action by Stan Wagon (amazon) - 600 pages of neat examples and goes up to Mathematica version 7. Visualization techniques are especially good, you can see some of them on the author's Demonstrations Page. Mathematica Programming Fundamentals by Richard Gaylord (pdf) - A good concise introduction to most of what you need to know about Mathematica programming. Undocumented (or scarcely documented) Features: How to customize Mathematica keyboard shortcuts. See this question. How to inspect patterns and functions used by Mathematica's own functions. See this answer How to achieve Consistent size for GraphPlots in Mathematica? See this question.

  • X.509 Certificate validation with Java and Bouncycastle

    - by Rob
Hi, through the bouncycastle wiki page I was able to understand how to create a X.509 root certificate and a certification request, but I do not quite understand how to proceed concept- and programming wise after that. Lets assume party A does a cert request and gets his client certificate from the CA. How can some party B validate A's certificate? What kind of certificate does A need? A root certificate? A 'normal' client certificate? And how does the validation work on programming level, if we assume that A has successfully send his certificate in DER or PEM format to B? Any help is much appreciated. Best Regards, Rob

  • SSRS 2005 Matrix and border styles when exporting to XLS

    - by Mufasa
The Matrix in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services 2005) seems to have issues with certain the border styles when exporting to XLS (but not PDF or web view; maybe other formats, not sure?). For example: Create a matrix and set the Matrix border style to Black Solid 1px, but all 4 of the cells to have a border style of Black None 1px. When viewed via the ASP.NET control, it looks correct. But after export to XLS, it creates borders around all of the header cells (column and row headers, and the top left cell), and even the right most data column. But all the cells in the middle of the report correctly have no border set. Update: If the Matrix borders are set to None, then the borders on the cells don't show up in XLS. So, how do you set an outer border around the Matrix, but not have it apply the 'all sides' border to every cell that touches the edge of the Matrix when exported to Excel?

  • alternative to visibility:collapse not working on IE and Chrome

IE always displays the row, and Chrome hides the row but showing its vertical space. So, how can I hide completely a row using only CSS? Thanks.

  • ASP.NET Charting Control no longer working with .NET 4

    - by Moose Factory
I've just upgraded to .NET 4 and my ASP.NET Chart Control no longer displays. For .NET 3.5, the HTML produced by the control used to look like this: <img id="20_Chart" src="/ChartImg.axd?i=chart_5f6a8fd179a246a5a0f4f44fcd7d5e03_0.png&amp;g=16eb7881335e47dcba16fdfd8339ba1a" alt="" style="height:300px;width:300px;border-width:0px;" /> and now, for .NET 4, it looks like this (note the change in the source path): <img id="20_Chart" src="/Statistics/Summary/ChartImg.axd?i=chart_5f6a8fd179a246a5a0f4f44fcd7d5e03_0.png&amp;g=16eb7881335e47dcba16fdfd8339ba1a" alt="" style="height:300px;width:300px;border-width:0px;" /> The chart is in an MVC partial view that is in an MVC Area folder called "Statistics" and a MVC Views folder called "Summary" (i.e. "/Areas/Statistics/Views/Summary"), so this is obviously where the change of path is coming from. All I've done is to switch the System.Web.DataVisualization assembly from, 3.5 to 4.0. Any help greatly appreciated.

  • Uploadify Hanging at random on 100%

    - by Matty
    I am using Uploadify (http://www.uploadify.com/) to enable my users to upload images via my web application. The problem I am having is that every now and then (at what appears to be random) when the progress bar reaches 100% it 'hangs' and does nothing. I was wondering if any developers familiar with uploadify may have any idea how to solve this? I am in desperate need of some help. Here is my front-end code: jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery("#uploadify").uploadify({ 'uploader' : 'javascripts/uploadify.swf', 'script' : 'upload-file2.php', 'cancelImg' : 'css/images/cancel.png', 'folder' : 'uploads/personal_images/' + profileOwner, 'queueID' : 'fileQueue', 'auto' : true, 'multi' : true, 'fileDesc' : 'Image files', 'fileExt' : '.jpg;.jpeg;.gif;.png', 'sizeLimit' : '2097152', 'onComplete': function(event, queueID, fileObj, response, data) { processPersonalImage(fileObj.name); arrImgNames.push(fileObj.name); showUploadedImages(true); document.getElementById("photos").style.backgroundImage = "url('css/images/minicam.png')"; }, 'onAllComplete' : function() { completionMessage(arrFailedNames); document.getElementById("displayImageButton").style.display = "inline"; document.getElementById("photos").style.backgroundImage = "url('css/images/minicam.png')"; }, 'onCancel' : function() { arrImgNames.push(fileObj.name); arrFailedNames.push(fileObj.name); showUploadedImages(false); }, 'onError' : function() { arrImgNames.push(fileObj.name); arrFailedNames.push(fileObj.name); showUploadedImages(false); } }); }); And server side: if (!empty($_FILES)) { //Get user ID from the file path for use later.. $userID = getIdFromFilePath($_REQUEST['folder'], 3); $row = mysql_fetch_assoc(getRecentAlbum($userID, "photo_album_personal")); $subFolderName = $row['pk']; //Prepare target path / file.. $tempFile = $_FILES['Filedata']['tmp_name']; $targetPath = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . $_REQUEST['folder'] .   • Change an input's HTML5 placeholder color with CSS

    - by David Murdoch
Chrome supports the placeholder attribute on input[type=text] elements (others probably do too). But the following CSS doesn't do diddly squat: <style> input[placeholder], [placeholder], *[placeholder] { color:red !important; } </style> <input type="text" placeholder="Value" /> "Value" will still be grey (er, gray. whatever) instead of red. Is there are way to change the color of the placeholder text? p.s. I'm already using the jQuery placeholder plugin for the browsers that don't support the placeholder attribute natively.

  • What are modern and old compilers written in?

    - by ulum
As a compiler, other than an interpreter, only needs to translate the input and not run it the performance of itself should be not that problematic as with an interpreter. Therefore, you wouldn't write an interpreter in, let's say Ruby or PHP because it would be far too slow. However, what about compilers? If you would write a compiler in a scripting language maybe even featuring rapid development you could possibly cut the source code and initial development time by halv, at least I think so. To be sure: With scripting language I mean interpreted languages having typical features that make programming faster, easier and more enjoyable for the programmer, usually at least. Examples: PHP, Ruby, Python, maybe JavaScript though that may be an odd choice for a compiler What are compilers normally written in? As I suppose you will respond with something low-level like C, C++ or even Assembler, why? Are there compilers written in scripting languages? What are the (dis)advantages of using low or high level programming languages for compiler writing?

  • Make Android Activity looks like dialog

    - by Matroska
Hi, I am trying to open a dialog on widget click. I have solved the problem skinning the activity started on click with android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Dialog". Unfortunately I cannot reach the same look of a dialog. This is the outcome: http://i50.tinypic.com/n15lcy.png while I would like to reach this result (except for the button, of course): h ttp://i48.tinypic.com/2ithqpc.png (the widget dialog you can see keeping the screen pushed) As you can see there are some differences: the color of the list items, the color of the text and the list item separator. Is there a predefined theme/style to obtain the same look of a standard dialog? If not, what are the steps to follow to reach that result? I have seen that the widget provided by FoxyRing has the behaviour I would like to have. Thanks

  • Re-setting CSS code for form buttons

    - by WebDevHobo
I used a CSS reset to reset some commonly-used items. The code is this: html, body, div, h1, h2, h3, h4, ul, ol, li, form, input, fieldset, textarea { margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0; font-size: 100%; } ul {list-style: none outside none;} img, fieldset {border: 0;} h1, h2, h3, h4 {font-weight: normal;} em {font-style: italic;} strong {font-weight: bold;} I know there's YUI and Meyer's reset, but I use this one. Now, the problem I'm experiencing is that I can't get the submit buttons to look normally again. I could ofcourse remove the input from the list and be done with it, but I'd like to know how to get it back, since I might need that in the future.
