• How can I assign custom icons to folders?

  How do I assign custom icons to folders, as well as the default folders Desktop, Downloads, Music, etc.? I know that one way is to assign the properties of folders, but I want to assign icons in the same way that are assigned the default folders, so the custom icons will also appear in the Nautilus bookmarks. I've also seen this question custom icon in "Places" menu <<, but that is not what I seek. UPDATE My main intention is this: I want the markers to display custom icons like the dolphin. I know it's possible, because the folder "Desktop", "Documents", "Music" has its own custom icons in bookmarks. How?

• Blogger Dynamic template sometimes broken

  In all browsers (IE, Chrome, etc.) in my office and in all Blogger blogs using the dynamic template, I'm having this strange problem: No menu on the right side (except for the Subscribe button - other buttons are missing) plus no layout selection bar (top row). This problem is occasional, not happening reliably; any ideas? Update: whenever I get the menu problem with dynamic templates, I also seem to get a broken page (in Chrome, IE, etc) with simple templates - see second screenshot. Does anyone having this issue?

  The purpose of this post is to guide you setting up the integration between UCM and SES. On my next post I’ll show different approaches to integrate WebCenter Portal, UCM and SES based on some common scenarios. Let’s get started. WebCenter Content Configuration WebCenter Content has a component that adds functionality to the content server to allow it to be searched via the Oracle SES. To enable the component installation, go to Administration -&gt; Admin Server and select SESCrawlerExport. Click the update button and restart UCM_server1 managed server. Once the managed server is back, we’ll configure the component. In the menu, under Administration you should see SESCrawlerExport. Click on the link. You’ll see the window below. Click on Configure SESCrawlerExport. Configure the values below: Hostname: SES hostname. Feed Location: Directory where data feeds will be saved. Metadata List: List of metadata that will be searchable by SES. After updating the values click on the Update button. Come back to the SESCrawlerExport Administration UI and click on Take Snapshot button. It will create the data feeds in the specified Feed Location. To check if the correct configuration was done, please access the following URL http://&lt;ucm_server&gt;:&lt;port&gt;/cs/idcplg?IdcService=SES_CRAWLER_DOWLOAD_CONFIG&amp;source=default. • Markup format or script for data files?

  The game I'm designing will be mainly written in a high level scripting language (leaning towards either Lua or Squirrel) with a C++ core. In addition to scripts I'm also going to need different data files. Many data files will be for static information such as graphical assets and monster types. I'd also want to create and update data files at runtime for user information like option settings and game saves. Can I get away with using plain script files (i.e. .lua or .nut files) for my data files, or is it better to use dedicated markup formats like XML or YAML? If I use script files, loaded separately from my true scripts, then I wouldn't need an extra library to read those files. Scripting languages like Lua also have table syntax that lend themselves towards data definition. On the other hand I'd have to write my own schema check code. These languages also don't seem to support serialization "out of the box" like the markup format libraries do.

• Migrating from GlassFish 2.x to 3.1.x

  With clustering now available in GlassFish since version 3.1 (our Spring 2011 release), a good number of folks have been looking at migrating their existing GlassFish 2.x-based clustered environments to a more recent version to take advantage of Java EE 6, our modular design, improved SSH-based provisioning and enhanced HA performance. The GlassFish documentation set is quite extensive and has a dedicated Upgrade Guide. It obviously lists a number of small changes such as file layout on disk (mostly due to modularity), some option changes (grizzly, shoal), the removal of node agents (using SSH instead), new JPA default provider name, etc... There is even a migration tool (glassfish/bin/asupgrade) to upgrade existing domains. But really the only thing you need to know is that each module in GlassFish 3 and beyond is responsible for doing its part of the upgrade job which means that the migration is as simple as copying a 2.x domain directory to the domains/ directory and starting the server with asadmin start-domain --upgrade. Binary-compatible products eligible for such upgrades include Sun Java System Application Server 9.1 Update 2 as well as version 2.1 and 2.1.1 of Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server.

  I'm just wondering what would be the best strategy to publish an application on the Android Market. If you have a free and paid version you have two codes to update (I know it will be 99% the same but still) and besides all the popular paid apps are quite easy to find for "free" in "alternative" markets. Also if you have any stored data in the trial/free version you lose it when you buy the full version.. On the other hand if you put a free application but inside you allow the user to unlock options (remove ads/more settings/etc...) you only have to worry about one code. I don't know the drawbacks of that strategy and how easy/hard is to hack that to get all the options for "free".

  Hide all normal windows shortcut is not working. It is currently set to Alt+Ctrl+D. And changing the shortcut doesn't help (tried Super+D, Alt+Esc). However other shortcuts work fine (even from the same Navigation tab). I guess the question is a duplicate of this which is unanswered. Update: It works exactly one time after reboot. I can minimize windows and even bring them back using the combination but only once. Also switching keyboard layout shortcut stopped working, but as I can see it's a known bug.

(2minutecv.com), but even after 6 weeks of the site up and running and conforming to the Google hash bang guidelines stated here, you can still see that Google still hasn't indexed the site yet. For example if you use Google to search for 2MinuteCV.com benefits it does not find this page which is referenced from the homepage. Can anyone tell me why Google isn't indexing this website? Update: Thanks for al lthe help with this answer. So just to make sure I understand what is wrong. According to the answers Google never actually indexes the pages after the Javascript has run. • Dynamic MMap ran out of room when trying to sudo apt-get anything

  I was having an error in Update Manager that asks me to do a partial upgrade and it fails. Now I can't sudo apt-get install anything. I tried to fix it, and now I can't sudo apt-get anything. Every time, I get this output: Reading package lists... Error! E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room. Please increase the size of APT::Cache-Limit. Current value: 25165824. (man 5 apt.conf) E: Error occurred while processing libuptimed0 (NewVersion1) E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_lucid_universe_binary-i386_Packages W: Unable to munmap E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. I have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it, and I fear that if I try something that probably doesn't work that it will make my problem worse. (Just for reference I am currently running 10.04 (Lucid) on my machine.)

  Compiling is easy but when using java to run the programs, it gives Exception found. I am using Ubuntu 12.04 without internet connections. Also, installed Oracle JDK7 and JRE7. Also did the update-alternatives command on java, javac and javaws. Changed the machine java in /etc/profiles. PATH is pointing to oracle java folder. I did many searches on Google about this topic but each time jdk and jre version are different. Also check version of jdk and jre using java -version and javac - version. Both of them are the same. The system also contains OpenJdk6 and OpenJdk7. So, how do I remove these errors?

• HP 510 laptop doesn't suspend when I close the lid

  I have an HP 510 laptop with Ubuntu 12.04. I have all the correct settings for suspending when the lid is closed, as far as I can tell, so I think it's a problem with detecting the event. The way it "should" be detected, from what I can see, is a little hardware switch that is pushed when the lid closes. This switch manually puts off the backlight, and sends the suspend signal. All I can think is that the signal isn't being properly interpreted. Can anyone suggest a fix? Update: I tested whether the button was actually working based on the suggestion by josinalvo, and I found that in the directory /proc/acpi/button/lid/ there is no LID directory. There is, however, a C1CF folder, and in it is a state file. When using the this file instead of ID, I discovered that, no, when I close the lid, the state does not change.

  I have a HTML5 based page, and I inculded the OpenGraph tags according to it's documentation. Also I checked with Facebook Debug, and it can parse the metadata. But when I use W3C Validator, it reports the OG tags as error: Attribute content not allowed on element meta at this point. <meta property="fb:admins" content="...." /> Attribute content not allowed on element meta at this point. <meta property="og:url" content="http://www...."> They are all in the <head>. • Error when trying to get movies off my Camera

  How do I retrieve movies and audio files from my Canon PowerShot S5 IS camera? Shotwell only sees the pictures.   I have been using find command to find files on my 1 tb hard disk. it takes very long. then I used locate which proved to be faster with regular update using updatedb. But the limitation of locate is that I cannot find files with certain size or modified/created time. can you suggest me any ideas on how to find files at more speed or in that case how to pipe output of locate command in a way that all other information like size, time, etc. can be displayed or redirected to a file.

• Tips for communication between JS browser game and node.js server?

  I am tinkering around with some simple Canvas based cave flyer game and I would like to make it multiplayer eventually. The plan is to use Node.js on the server side. The data sent over would consists of position of each player, direction, velocity and such. The player movements are simple force physics, so I should be able to extrapolate movements before next update from server. Any tips or best practices on the communications side? I guess web sockets are the way to go. Should I send information in every pass of the game loop or with specified intervals? Also, I don't mind if it doesn't work with older browsers.
