  • WYSIWYG editor for Windows forms

    - by Tired
Does anyone know of a good WYSIWYG editor for Windows forms. If I use a rich textbox, I need to handle pasting events, bold buttons, fonts etc, which is a nightmare. I’m currently using the HTML control, suggested by many sites, but I have a large form, with many tabs. Since I have to load up to 8 HTML controls, loading the form takes too long. Any help?

  • GDI+ crashes when loading PNG from IStream

    - by konforce
I wrote something to load PNG files from a custom C++ IStream via GDI+. It worked great until I ran it on Vista machines. Crashes every time. When compiled on VS 2008, I found that inserting code into the IStream::AddRef method, such as a cout, made the problem go away. When compiling with VS 2010, it still crashes regardless of that. I stripped the program down to its basics. I copied a FileStream straight from Microsoft's documentation. It can load PNGs when using Bitmap::FromFile. It can load JPEGs, GIFs, and BMPs via FromFile or FromStream. So in short: on Vista, PNG files loaded via Bitmap::FromStream crash. #pragma comment(lib, "gdiplus.lib") #include <iostream> #include <objidl.h> #include <gdiplus.h> class FileStream : public IStream { public: FileStream(HANDLE hFile) { _refcount = 1; _hFile = hFile; } ~FileStream() { if (_hFile != INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE) { ::CloseHandle(_hFile); } } public: HRESULT static OpenFile(LPCWSTR pName, IStream ** ppStream, bool fWrite) { HANDLE hFile = ::CreateFileW(pName, fWrite ? It crashes inside of lastResult = DllExports::GdipCreateBitmapFromStream(stream, &bitmap); from GdiPlusBitmap.h, which is a static inline wrapper over the flat API. Other than the reference counting, the only IStream methods it calls is stat (for file size), read, and seek. • Spring, Jersey and Viewable JSP Integration

    - by Brian D.
I'm trying to integrate Spring 3.0.5 with Jersey 1.4. I seem to have everything working, but whenever I try and return a Viewable that points to a JSP, I get a 404 error. When I wasn't using spring I could use this filter: <filter> <filter-name>Jersey Filter</filter-name> <filter-class>com.sun.jersey.spi.container.servlet.ServletContainer</filter-class> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.feature.Redirect</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </init-param> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.property.packages</param-name> <param-value>cheetah.frontend.controllers</param-value> </init-param> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.feature.FilterForwardOn404</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </init-param> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.property.WebPageContentRegex</param-name> <param-value>/(images|css|jsp)/.*</param-value> </init-param> </filter> And I could return a Viewable to any JSP's, image, css that were stored in the appropriate folder. However, now that I have to use the SpringServlet to get spring integration, I'm at a loss for how to access resources, since I can't use the filter above. I've tried using this servlet mapping with no luck: <servlet> <servlet-name>jerseyspring</servlet-name> <servlet-class>com.sun.jersey.spi.spring.container.servlet.SpringServlet</servlet-class> <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.property.WebPageContentRegex</param-name> <param-value>/(images|css|jsp)/.*</param-value> </init-param> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>jerseyspring</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> Does anyone know the proper configurations to achieve this? Thanks for any help.

  • Real time complex raster image morphing in Flash CS4

    - by cosmorocket
Is there a way to load an image from some url or a local folder and then make some complex morphing to it in real time? For example, I have a vector animated pseudo 3D paper in my project that, for example, is being flipped different ways. Then I want to place some image inside that paper box and want to morph that image accordingly to the box form changes or at least make it look more realistically, not exactly the same as the paper box. Thanks.

  • How do I convert HTML to RTF (Rich Text) in .NET without paying for a component?

    - by Josh Kodroff
Is there a free third-party or .NET class that will convert HTML to RTF (for use in a rich-text enabled Windows Forms control)? The "free" requirement comes from the fact that I'm only working on a prototype and can just load the BrowserControl and just render HTML if need be (even if it is slow) and that Developer Express is going to be releasing their own such control soon-ish. I don't want to learn to write RTF by hand, and I already know HTML, so I figure this is the quickest way to get some demonstrable code out the door quickly.

  • Rails find over multiple models

    - by kgb
I think I'm missing something very obvious and its making my brain hurt. class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :profile class Profile < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :user belongs_to :team I have a partial that loops through the users and print some basic info, I'm using this partial in my team show page. I had originally written this to return users who's profiles were a member of a team. def show @team = Team.find_by_id(params[:id]) @profiles= Profile.find(:all, :conditions => ['team_id = ?', @team.id]) @users = User.find_by_id(@profiles.user_id) end But quickly realized @profiles was an array, and it looks messy as hell. Stuck as to what my find should look like to select all User who have a profile that is a member of a team. The partial that is working elsewhere for displaying users looks like this <% for user in @users%> <table> <tr> <td> <%= image_tag user.profile.picture.url %> </td> <td> <a href="/users/<%= user.id %>"><%= user.login %></a> </td> <td> <%= user.profile.first_name %> <%= user.profile.second_name %> </td> <td> <%= user.profile.status %> </td> </tr> </table> <% end %> Development log output with updated show and relationships Processing TeamsController#show (for 127.0.0.1 at 2010-03-30 22:06:31) [GET] Parameters: {"id"=>"1"} User Load (1.3ms) SELECT * FROM "users" WHERE ("users"."id" = 3) LIMIT 1 Team Load (1.0ms) SELECT * FROM "teams" WHERE ("teams"."id" = 1) Rendering template within layouts/main Rendering teams/show Completed in 75ms (View: 11, DB: 2) | 200 OK [http://localhost/teams/1]

  • Auto update the content in ASP.NET

    - by Zerotoinfinite
I have to design a website where user can update their status, just like facebook and twitter and other social networking sites. Now my requirement is to refresh the feed with new user updates. Ex: when the new status comes facebook automatically add that on the top of the feed. on the other hand twitter shows the number of updates which is ready to be load. both ways are acceptable to me Now, I have to decide what is the best way to achieve this functionality. I am open to use ASP.NET. So I am confused that regular repeater control with timer and auto refresh or any other way? (I am wondering that if I set repeater for auto update and meanwhile if user is performing some action on any status it will lost). or do I need to change my framework from ASP.NET to ASP.NET MVC (I am little afraid with MVC as I have very less knowledge regarding it and I know it has a learning curve to master ajax/Jquery things) Any suggestion how I can I achieve it in a better and feasible way? EDIT1 I am not looking for a code but I want advice to achieve this. Supporting URL's would be appreciated. EDIT2 I am open to JQuery which can regularly check the database and fill the section. But my concern is this that if user is updating any comment and want to load/feed is automatically generated. his textbox text shouldn't be disappear (just like facebook, twitter or Linkedin) EDIT3 I have seen that on Stack overflow when any other user has modified the question/answer, I got notification like this question/answer is modified. and when I clicked on that notification only that section got reloaded. I am curious to know how to achieve this functionality. So that when user is commenting on a status/post and if meanwhile someone has updated the content then it would show the other user comment. Edit4 Could someone please recommend me an example of ASP.NET MVC 3+ which can do similar kind of activity (i.e. one input box and once user insert an text it will add the item in the list (with JQuery).

  • jQuery.getScript: data variable in callback undefined

Anyone know why this might be? Thanks.

  • Tuning MySQL to take advantage of a 4GB VPS

    - by alistair.mp
Hello, We're running a large site at the moment which has a dedicated VPS for it's database server which is running MySQL and nothing else. At the moment all four CPU cores are running at close to 100% all of the time but the memory usage sticks at around 268MB out of an available 4096MB. I'm wondering what we can do to better utilise the memory and reduce the CPU load by tweaking MySQL's settings? Here is what we currently have in my.cnf: http://pastie.org/private/hxeji9o8n3u9up9mvtinbq Thanks

  • How to use second level cache for lazy loaded collections in Hibernate?

    - by Chandru
Let's say I have two entities, Employee and Skill. Every employee has a set of skills. Now when I load the skills lazily through the Employee instances the cache is not used for skills in different instances of Employee. Let's Consider the following data set. Employee - 1 : Java, PHP Employee - 2 : Java, PHP When I load Employee - 2 after Employee - 1, I do not want hibernate to hit the database to get the skills and instead use the Skill instances already available in cache. Is this possible? If so how? • How can I use Apache to reverse proxy a dynamic url

    - by backplane
I want a user to be able to load a url in their browser, but not get redirected: http://example.com/abc/{var1}/{var2}/def I want the example.com apache 2.2 server to take that request, and "invisibly" and without redirect reverse proxy it to: http://other.example.com/abc/{var1}/{var2}/def I have spent hours trying different combinations of RewriteRule, ProxyPass, ProxyPassMatch, and ProxyPassReverse, all to no avail. Here is my current attempt, which seems to do a redirect to /test instead of an invisible proxy. RewriteRule ^/abc/([^/\.]+)/([^/\.]+)/def/?$ /test/abc/$1/$2/def [P] ProxyPass /test http://other.example.com/ ProxyPassReverse /test http://other.example.com/

  • Creating Bitmaps from ARGB strings (in actionscript-3)???

    - by ashenwraith
Hi, in actionscript 3, what's the fastest way to dump your data (not from a file) into a bitmap for display? I have it working with setPixels and colored rects but that's way too slow/inefficient. Is there a way to load in the raw bytes or hijack the loader class to put in custom loader data? What would be the best/fastest--should I start writing a byte encoder?

  • XmlDataProvider and XPath bindings don't allow default namespace of XML data?

    - by Andy Dent
    I am struggling to work out how to use default namespaces with XmlDataProvider and XPath bindings. There's an ugly answer using local-name <Binding XPath="*[local-name()='Name']" /> but that is not acceptable to the client who wants this XAML to be highly maintainable. The fallback is to force them to use non-default namespaces in the report XML but that is an undesirable solution. The XML report file looks like the following. It will only work if I remove xmlns="http://www.acme.com/xml/schemas/report so there is no default namespace. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <?xml-stylesheet type='text/xsl' href='PreviewReportImages.xsl'?> <Report xsl:schemaLocation="http://www.acme.com/xml/schemas/report BlahReport.xsd" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://www.acme.com/xml/schemas/report"> <Service>Muncher</Service> <Analysis> <Date>27 Apr 2010</Date> <Time>0:09</Time> <Authoriser>Service Centre Manager</Authoriser> Which I am presenting in a window with XAML: <Window x:Class="AcmeTest.ReportPreview" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="ReportPreview" Height="300" Width="300" > <Window.Resources> <XmlDataProvider x:Key="Data"/> </Window.Resources> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical" DataContext="{Binding Source={StaticResource Data}, XPath=Report}"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding XPath=Service}"/> </StackPanel> </Window> with code-behind used to load an XmlDocument into the XmlDataProvider (seems the only way to have loading from a file or object varying at runtime). public partial class ReportPreview : Window { private void InitXmlProvider(XmlDocument doc) { XmlDataProvider xd = (XmlDataProvider)Resources["Data"]; xd.Document = doc; } public ReportPreview(XmlDocument doc) { InitializeComponent(); InitXmlProvider(doc); } public ReportPreview(String reportPath) { InitializeComponent(); var doc = new XmlDocument(); doc.Load(reportPath); InitXmlProvider(doc); } }

  • Using Include() with inherited entities problem

    - by Peter Stegnar
In EF eager loading related entities is easy. But I'm having difficulties including inherited entities when loading data using table-per-type model. This is my model: Entities: ArticleBase (base article entity) ArticleSpecial (inherited from ArticleBase) UserBase (base user entity) UserSpecial (inherited from UserBase) Image Relations are as shown on the image (omitting many columns): In reality my users are always of type UserSpecial, since UserBase is used in another application, thus we can share credentials. That's the only reason I have two separate tables. UserBase table can't be changed in any way shape or form, because the other app would break. Question How am I suppose to load ArticleSpecial with both CreatedBy and EditedBy set, so that both are of type UserSpecial (that defines Image relation)? I've tried (unsuccessfully though) these options: 1. Using lambda expressions: context.ArticleBases .OfType<ArticleSpecial>() .Include("UserCreated.Image") .Include("UserEdited.Image"); In this case the problem is that both CreatedBy and EditedBy are related to UserBase, that doesn't define Image navigation. So I should somehow cast these two to UserSpecial type like: context.ArticleBases .OfType<ArticleSpecial>() .Include("UserCreated<UserSpecial>.Image") .Include("UserEdited<UserSpecial>.Image"); But of course using generics in Include("UserCreated<UserSpecial>.Image") don't work. 2. I have tried using LINQ query var results = from articleSpecial in ctx.ArticleBase.OfType<ArticleSpecial>() join created in ctx.UserBase.OfType<UserSpecial>().Include("Image") on articleSpecial.UserCreated.Id equals created.Id join edited in ctx.UserBase.OfType<UserSpecial>().Include("Image") on articleSpecial.UserEdited.Id equals edited.Id select articleSpecial; In this case I'm only getting ArticleSpecial object instances without related properties being set. I know I should select those somehow, but I don't know how? Select part in my LINQ could be changed to something like select new { articleSpecial, articleSpecial.UserCreated, articleSpecial.UserEdited }; but images are still not loaded into my context. My joins in this case are barely used to filter out articleSpecial results, but they don't load entities into context (I suppose). Can anybody provide any help regarding this problem? I think it's not so uncommon.

  • Why doesn't nHibernate support LIMIT when doing "join fetch"?

    - by HeavyWave
In nHibernate, if you do an HQL query with "join fetch" to eagerly load a child collection, nHibernate will ignore SetMaxResults and SetFirstResult and try to retrieve every single item from the database. Why? This behavior is specific to HQL, as ICriteria supports eager loading (with an outer join, though) and LIMIT. There are more details here http://www.lesnikowski.com/blog/index.php/nhibernate-ignores-setmaxresults-in-sql/ .
