• How can I use MVC ideas without using classes?

  As of right now, I am still shaky on classes, so I don't want to use any classes for my site. I'm still practicing with classes. But how can I implement the MVC idea without classes? Would this work for a MVC? index.php (the view) index_controller.php index_model.php Is this right for what a MVC should be? View: show html, css, forms Controller: get $_POST from forms and any data from the user, get info from db Model: do all the functions, insert/delete in db, etc Basically separate the HTML/css for the view, all the data collecting for the controller, and the logic for the model. And just connect them all using require_once.

Which one is more sense in Perl web dev? BTW, the directory of 'cgi-bin' created by my VPS server, Do I need contact with my VPS support to remove it or just remain it like this URL style? Maybe http://www.mydomain.com/perDev/hello.cgi is better?

• Jquery interactive table - multiple instance problem

  Hello forgive me if i use the wrong terminology and the messiness of this code it is the first time I have used jquery. I am making an interactive table-product selector. Compatible systems run along the top and colour choices down the left. The table works by seeing if there is a cell is empty in a html table. If the cell is empty then that is a compatible system and a circle image is in that cell and it is selectable. When selected the product code is generated (by looking at the colour value and system name) and the relevant resource download pack can be downloaded. This works 'fine' when on its own on a page however when I have multiple instances of it on one page they interfere with each other. Only the first one works and clicking in the 2nd 3rd etc table updates the first one. I need these to function independant of each other. • Python scope problems only when _assigning_ to a variable

  So I'm having a very strange error right now.   I'm working to create a simple Python script that will ultimately tell you how many blog entries were posted in a given month, and the pyblog app is proving very helpful. However, when I create the blog object, I don't know how to access it's various attributes. Noting that only the first kiss requires the alternation, any kiss that is not a part of the chain due to the first kiss can very well have a hug on the 2nd next person, this is the code I have come up with. I would like to: use google's compiler.jar to minify my JS use yahoo's yui-compressor.jar to minify my CSS access a file and change a string so that header files like "global.css?v=21" get served the correct version deploy the app (sftp, mercurial or rsync?) omitting certain directories like "/userfiles" Can you guys put me on the right track to solve this? I know that the Response object contains some properties that control cache expiration. I know that these properties can be used to control HTTP caching for response that I am serving from my code: Response.Expires Response.ExpiresAbsolute Response.CacheControl or alternatively Response.AddHeader("Expires", "Thu, 01 Dec 1994 16:00:00 GMT"); The question is how do I set the Expires header for resources that are served automatically, e.g. images, css and such?

• Why does my regex fail when the number ends in 0?

  This is a really basic regex question but since I can't seem to figure out why the match is failing in certain circumstances I figured I'd post it to see if anyone else can point out what I'm missing. • Printing UTF-16 strings in JSP is outputted as HTML encoding (&#xxxx)

  Hello, When I try to print a UTF-16 string in JSP, specifically Hebrew, it ends up showing up as HTML encoding (&#xxxx). This problem occurs because I print an array of variables into the web page and then parse them. The variables are all UTF-16 strings, but once the servlet prints the variables, it becomes translated to HTML encoding. Is there any way to get rid of the encoding? Thanks in advance Edit for a bit more background: The JSP that I'm printing is not the entirety of the page. It's used in a manner I don't quite understand by a server app which prints the JSPs output into its built in page. As a result, I can't, for instance, use a tag because the will have already been placed somewhere else. This isn't a frame or anything like that. It's just redirected output.

• Jscrollpane causese text to disappear on internet explorer

  I have a spring web application that is required to work as following the application will be accessed from two different URLs www.domain1.com and www.domain2.com and it is required that the two URLs looks like two different applications with different CSS and I18n. for the css part is done but I am stuck with the i18n part How to make spring load different i18n properties file according to the domain name? The solution that I thought in is to implement a filter that check the request URL and according to the URL it clears the message source bean and load the required i18n file but it does not looks good for the performance by the way I am using ReloadableResourceBundleMessageSource message source Another solution is to implement two different message sources.   I want to use a while loop to initialize class objects with a simple incremented naming convention. The goal is to be able to scale the number of class objects at will and have the program generate the names automatically. (ex. h1...h100...h1000...) Each h1,h2,h3... being its own instance. • Python script run via cron does not execute occassionally

  I have a simple python script for fetching tweets and caching them to disk that is configured to run every two minutes via cron. */2 * * * * (date ; /usr/bin/python /path/get_tweets.py) >> /path/log/get_tweets.log 2>&1 The script runs successfully most of the time. However, every so often the script doesn't execute. In addition to other logging, I added a simple print statement above the meat of the script and nothing except the output from the initial date command makes it to the log. #!/usr/bin/python # Script for fetching tweets and then storing them as an HTML snippet for inclusion using SSI print "Starting get_tweets.py" Any ideas?   I came across the following program and it behaving in unexpected manner. public class ShiftProgram { public static void main(String[] args) { int i = 0; while(-1 << i != 0) i++; System.out.println(i); } } If we think about this program output, when it reaches 32 while loop condition should return false and terminate and it should print 32.
