Is there a way to use JSP to create a file tail like Linux's "tail -f" and cache the results? That is, can I read the last X items, cache, and then read again if I get a request that exceeds some timeout?
Hello guys,
can somebody tell me how to pipe the output of the serial port to a file in Windows?
In Linux the command would be:
cat /dev/ttyS0 > /opt/logs/Serial.log
Thanks in advance
Hi!
I was wondering if it was possible to edit an xml on the server side from a web based flex application.
When you use XML files in a Flex application and then compile it to upload it in the server, Flex Buidler generates a swf file with the xml data embedded. How should I do to have access to those XML files??
Thanks for your answers.
Regards.

Is there any way to programmatically determine if an .xls contains macros, without actually opening it in Excel?
Also are there any methods to examine which certificate (including timestamp cert) these macros are signed with? Again without using Excel.
I'm wondering in particular if there are any strings that always show up in the raw data of an Excel file when macros are present.
I have 2 dimensional table in file, which look like this:
11, 12, 13, 14, 15
21, 22, 23, 24, 25
I want it to be imported in 2 dimensional array. I wrote this code:
INTEGER :: SMALL(10)
DO I = 1, 3
READ(UNIT=10, FMT='(5I4)') SMALL
WRITE(UNIT=*, FMT='(6X,5I4)') SMALL
ENDDO
But it imports everything in one dimensional array.
configparser raises an exception if one parses a simple .properties (key/value) file wich lacks section headers; other than rolling out code myself, is there some module that allows me to do this?
I had a problem highlighting text in a pdf file embedded in webbrowser control and highlighting text using PDFLibNet.pdfwrapper so i'm shifting to another process where i'll just convert the pdf to html so i can manipulate the source code to highlight text.
How can i convert pdf files to html files? Is there a better way?
Thanks,

hi all,
is it possible to write database methods in properties file, like some database queries and can be accessed using servlets which may reduce the code?
please any body help
I am trying to read an ini file that has the following format:
SETTING=VALUE
SETTING2=VALUE2
I currently have the following code:
string cache = sr.ReadToEnd();
string[] splitCache = cache.Split(new string[] {"\n", "\r\n"}, StringSplitOptions.RemoveEmptyEntries);
Which gives me a list of settings, however, what I would like to do is read this into a dictionary. My question is, is there a way to do this without iterating through the entire array and manually populating the dictionary?
I want to generate a bat file for multiple tag processing and the command lines look like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\tools\tag.exe" -t Genre="%genre%" "%_folderpath%\%track%. %title%.%_extension%"
IF ERRORLEVEL==1 PAUSE
I can populate all variables automatically but can I replace the %title% variable with a wildcard?
I need a way to make my database mdf file secure from any adminstrators in SQL Server Express. Because I am developing application with C# connected to SQL Express database.
I am new at ipad and iphone development.
I would like to parse the table content of a PDF file.

Could you please provide me a sample of code ?
Hi all!
Somebody has asked me to make an app in php that will generate a .doc file with an image and a few tables in it. My first approach was:
somethingsomething else
cevaaltceva');
fclose($fh);
?
This uses the data uri technique of embedding an image.
This will generate an html file that will be rendered ok in web browsers but the image is missing in Microsoft Office Word, at least in the standard setup. Then, while editing the file with Word, i've replace the image with an image from file and Microsoft Word changed the contents of the file into Open XML and added a folder, new_files where he put the imported image (which was a .png), a .gif version of the image and a xml file:
Now this isn't good enough either since i want this to be all kept in a single .doc file.
Is there a way to embed an image in an OpenXML-formatted .doc file?
Any help will be much appreciated.
I'm trying to find something like this: http://coffeescripter.com/code/ad-gallery/ that is controlled by an xml file that can simply contain the image location, thumbnail location and the text for title/description. Has to be pure jquery or javascript though - no flash based stuff.
I've found loads of great components but can't find one that is controlled by XML. Anyone happen to have seen one around anywhere please?
I have setup a Bash menu script that also requires user input.
These inputs are wrote (appended to) a text file named var.txt like so:
input[0]='192.0.0.1'
input[1]='username'
input[2]='example.com'
input[3]='/home/newuser'
Now what I am trying to accomplish is to be able to read from var.txt from a script kinda like this:
useradd var.txt/${input[1]}
now I know that wont work just using it for an example.
Thanks in Advance,
Joe
Are there any example log4j configuration files (XML).
I have a java main application.
I want log4j to output to console AND write to file.
Any examples of this would be greatly appreciated.
I'm using netbeans if that matters.
Hi,
I have to read a file from server side . Obtained its contents stored it in a list and sent it to template
Now, My question is how to access this list so as to display the contents of files line by line .
I am using ajax and jquery to obtain the data on client side
def showfiledata(request):
f = open("/home/tazim/webexample/test.txt")
list = f.readlines()
return_dict = {'list':list}
json = simplejson.dumps(list)
return HttpResponse(json,mimetype="application/json")
I am including chapters in my latex file one by one by using the \include{} statement, up till now I've had no problem with that. But I've recently written a chapter which I've saved under a name including spaces...because you can.
Now the include{} statement apparently doesn't like spaces, and prints just the filename in my document in stead of the chapter.
It is probably a pretty easy fix (apart from removing the spaces in the filename, ;-) ), but I can't find it.
If I have a URL to a download, www.website.com/myfile.html
so when that link is clicked it automatically starts a download, which may be myfile.txt for example, how would I get that file into C# for reading..
Is that what Net.WebRequest.Create(url), Net.HttpWebRequest does?
I'm building a program, and I'm quite confident using Objective-C, but I don't know how to programmatically download a file from the web and copy it on the hard drive.
I started with :
NSString url = @"http://spiritofpolo.com/images/logo.png";
NSData* data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL URLWithString:url]];
But then I don't know what to do with the data... that sucks, no ;)
Can somebody help?
