  • table to updated after selection with uipicker

    - by Guille10k
An UIPicker shows up when I select a row in a table, so I can choose some things I want to be displayed on the same row. How can I update the table once I finished with the uipicker? I used reloadData right after the call to the picker, but the code is executed before I do "Done" on the picker. Some idea? Thank u

  • drawing images and lines over UIScrollView

    - by Jorge
I'm programming an app in which one of the ViewControllers is showing an UIScrollView that shows an image. I'd like to load an image (pushpin in png format) and draw it (and delete it) in some points of the UIScrollView image. I'd also would like to draw bezier paths in that image (and deleting them). I've programmed several apps but this is the first time I face graphic programming and don't know where to start from. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Appending Dataset in Core Data execution of Update through iTuneStore

    - by Yoon Lee
So I have completed my code work. This is first time releasing the app through iTuneStore. Current state of reading Core Data (.sqlite) file is already prefetched (already has information like apple's 'Reciepie' program). Assuming I have successfully released through apple store, and decide to update my application to existing users. Say I have sqlite contents but it contains bit more information than previous SQLite file under same structure. Question 1. Every time update held to the existing user, does it removes previous ones and move new updated application? Question 2. if it is not, then HOW can I append the existing sql value?

  • UIView animation only animating some of the things I ask it to

    - by Ben
I have a series of (say) boxes on the screen in a row, all subviews of my main view. Each is a UIView. I want to shift them all left and have a new view also enter the screen from the right in lockstep. Here's what I'm doing: // First add a dummy view offscreen UIView * stagingView = /* make this view, which sets up its width/height */ CGRect frame = [stagingView frame]; frame.origin.x = /* just off the right side of the screen */; [stagingView setFrame:frame]; [self stagingView]; And then I set up animations in one block for all of my subviews (which includes the one I just added): [UIView beginAnimations:@"shiftLeft" context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseInOut]; [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; [UIView setAnimationDidStopSelector:@selector(_animationDidStop:context:)]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.3]; for (UIView * view in [self subviews]) { CGRect frame = [view frame]; frame.origin.x -= (frame.size.width + viewPadding); [view setFrame:frame]; } [UIView commitAnimations]; Here's what I expect: The (three) views already on screen get shifted left and the newly staged view marches in from the right at the same time. Here's what happens: The newly staged view animates in exactly as expected, and the views already on the screen do not appear to move at all! (Or possibly they jump without animation to their end locations). And! If I comment out the whole business of creating the new subview offscreen... the ones onscreen do animate correctly! Huh? (Thanks!)

  • Unable to retrieve data from SQLite database iOS6.0

    - by kunalg
    When i run build ios5.0 or less then Sqlite response correct and retrieve data its work fine but when run on ios6.0 i am trying to fetch data from my.sqlite database but it is not executing my if case. It always enters in else condition. What wrong thing i am doing? I am not able to execute my if case i.e. if(sqlite3_prepare_v2(database, sqlQuerry, -1, &querryStatement, NULL)==SQLITE_OK). for reference check this code . NSLog(@"sqlite3_prepare_v2 = %d SQLITE_OK %d ",sqlite3_prepare_v2(sqlite, [strQuery UTF8String], -1, &compiledStatement, nil),SQLITE_OK); if(sqlite3_prepare_v2(sqlite, [strQuery UTF8String], -1, &compiledStatement, nil)==SQLITE_OK) { NSLog(@"sqlite3_step = %d SQLITE_ROW %d ",sqlite3_step(compiledStatement),SQLITE_ROW); while (sqlite3_step(compiledStatement)==SQLITE_ROW) { if(sqlite3_column_text(compiledStatement, 2) != nil) modelObj.Name = [NSString stringWithUTF8String:(char *)sqlite3_column_text(compiledStatement, 2)]; } } else { } ////////// in ios6.0 log Print sqlite3_prepare_v2 = 1 SQLITE_OK 0 sqlite3_step = 21 SQLITE_ROW 100 in iOS5.0 log Print sqlite3_prepare_v2 = 0 SQLITE_OK 0 sqlite3_step = 100 SQLITE_ROW 100

  • UITableView and keyboard scrolling problem

    - by Jonathan
after a lot of trial and error, I'm giving up and asking the question. I've seen a lot of people with similar problems but can't get all the answers to work right. I have a UITableView which is composed of custom cells. The cells are made of 5 text fields next to each other (sort of like a grid). When I try to scroll and edit the cells at the bottom of the UITableView, I can't manage to get my cells properly positioned above the keyboard. I have seen many answers talking about changing view sizes,etc... but none of them has worked nicely so far. Could anybody clarify the "right" way to do this with a concrete code example? Thanks in advance, Jonathan

  • How to restrict rightBarButtonItem size in UINavigationBar ?

    - by lefakir
I create a rightBarButtonItem with this method : - (UIBarButtonItem *)customBarButtonWithSelector:(SEL)callback { UIButton *customButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect]; customButton.bounds = CGRectMake(0, 0, 30.0f, 30.0f); return [[[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithCustomView:customButton] autorelease]; } At execution time the selector is fired when the bar is touched outside the button (near the middle). Is there a way to restrict the event responder in the defined bounds or in a acceptable range ?

  • Slide in the second tab bar view by clicking on item in the first

    - by Henrik Erlandsson
I have an app with three tabs that switch views instantaneously when the user taps them. The first view is a table view selecting which 'location type' to filter by, to only show those pins (add those annotations) to the second view, a MapView. When a table cell is clicked, it switches instantaneously to the mapview, using this code: self.tabBarController.selectedIndex=1; However, I would like to do this with a slide-in-from-right animation, like the one you get when drilling down a hierarchy of table views. I tried this: [self.navigationController pushViewController:[self.tabBarController.viewControllers objectAtIndex:1] animated:YES]; which compiles without error or warning, but does not switch views. How do I 'apply' a navigation controller 'onto' a tab bar controller? Or is there some way to select another viewcontroller and specify an animation?

  • Calculating File size before download

    - by sagar
Ok ! Coming to the point directly. What I want to do is explained as follows. I have an url of MP3 file. ( for example Sound File ) Now, When user starts application. Download should start & for that I have implemented following methods. -(void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; NSURL *url=[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://xyz.pqr.com/abc.mp3"]; NSURLRequest *req=[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url cachePolicy:NSURLCacheStorageNotAllowed timeoutInterval:120]; NSURLConnection *con=[[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:req delegate:self startImmediately:YES]; if(con){ myWebData=[[NSMutableData data] retain]; } else { // [MainHandler performSelector:@selector(targetSelector:) withObject:nil]; } } -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveResponse:(NSURLResponse *)response{ NSLog(@"%@",@"connection established"); [myWebData setLength: 0]; } -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data { NSLog(@"%@",@"connection receiving data"); [myWebData appendData:data]; } -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didFailWithError:(NSError *)error { NSLog(@"%@",@"connection failed"); [connection release]; // [AlertViewHandler showAlertWithErrorMessage:@"Sorry, there is no network connection. Please check your network and try again."]; // [self parserDidEndDocument:nil]; } -(void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { [connection release]; } Now, Above methods work perfectly for downloading. But missing points are as follows. I can not get the exact size which is going to be downloaded. ( means I want to know what is the size of file - which is going to be download )

  • Preserving alpha issues with loaded UIImages - how to avoid discarding alpha values on import?

    - by Peter Hajas
My application lets the user save/load images with alpha values to the camera roll on the device. I can see in the Photos application that these images are appropriately alpha'd, as alpha'd areas just appear black. However, when I load these images back into the application using the valueForKey:UIImagePickerControllerOriginalImage message to the info dictionary from (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info, the alpha values are turned to just white, making those sections opaque. Is there a way to preserve these alpha values?

  • UITableView - Select nearest row after row deletion.

    - by sunnycmf
like build in apple notes app, after you swipe to delete the selected row, it will select the nearest available row automatically. The logic should be: if row count 0 then if deleted_row == last row then select deleted_row_index-1 row else select deleted_row_index+1 row end end i have try to implement the above logic in the commitEditingStyle event, but the selection fail. the selectRowAtIndexPath logic just don't work in this event, if i apply it in a button, it works. any idea?

  • Core Data - How to check if a managed object's properties have been deallocated?

    - by georryan
I've created a program that uses core data and it works beautifully. I've since attempted to move all my core data methods calls and fetch routines into a class that is self contained. My main program then instantiates that class and makes some basic method calls into that class, and the class then does all the core data stuff behind the scenes. What I'm running into, is that sometimes I'll find that when I grab a managed object from the context, I'll have a valid object, but its properties have been deallocated, and I'll cause a crash. I've played with the zombies and looked for memory leaks, and what I have gathered is it seems that the run loop is probably responsible for deallocating the memory, but I'm not sure. Is there a way to determine if that memory has been deallocated and force the core data to get it back if I need to access it? My managedObjectContext never gets deallocated, and the fetchedResultsController never does, either. I thought maybe I needed to use the [managedObjectContext refreshObject:mergeData:] method, or the [managedObjectContext setRetainsRegisteredObjects:] method. Although, I'm under the impression that last one may not be the best bet since it will be more memory intensive (from what I understand). These errors only popped up when I moved the core data calls into another class file, and they are random when they show up. Any insight would be appreciated. -Ryan

  • UITableView Header View Scrolls

    - by Jim Bonner
I am using a header view, not section header, with my UITableView. The documentation says that the header view sits on top of the table, but my header view scrolls just like a normal row. Is there a way to make the header view always visible at the top of the table?

  • Does the Fetch Request do the recommended batch faulting?

    - by dontWatchMyProfile
I'm curious. Apple says in the docs: Core Data automatically fires faults when necessary (when a persistent property of a fault is accessed). However, firing faults individually can be inefficient, and there are better strategies for getting data from the persistent store (see “Batch Faulting and Pre-fetching with the SQLite Store”). NSFetchRequest has this feature: [fetchRequest setFetchBatchSize:20]; Is this essentially performing such a batch faulting like recommended? Just to make this clear for others, faulting does not mean "turning into a fault" but it means "materializing it", just like "making a Scooby-Doo out of it". Pretty ugly wording error, in my opinion, but it's at least consistent in the docs ;)

  • Hard crash when drawing content for CALayer using quartz

    - by Lukasz
I am trying to figure out why iOS crash my application in the harsh way (no crash logs, immediate shudown with black screen of death with spinner shown for a while). It happens when I render content for CALayer using Quartz. I suspected the memory issue (happens only when testing on the device), but memory logs, as well as instruments allocation logs looks quite OK. Let me past in the fatal function: - (void)renderTiles{ if (rendering) { //NSLog(@"====== RENDERING TILES SKIP ======="); return; } rendering = YES; CGRect b = tileLayer.bounds; CGSize s = b.size; CGFloat imageScale = [[UIScreen mainScreen] scale]; s.height *= imageScale; s.width *= imageScale; dispatch_async(queue, ^{ NSLog(@""); NSLog(@"====== RENDERING TILES START ======="); NSLog(@"1. • Two PickerViews in save View issue?

    - by NextRev
I'm trying to have 2 pickerviews in the same view. It works except for two things. If one pickerview has more rows than the other the app crashes when picking an item from the pickerview with more items. Also I created an NSLog for the pickerviews and the console shows that I'm picking two items at once when in fact i'm only dealing with one pickerview. I know it sounds a bit confusing but I'm including all the code.
