• Database Table Prefixes

  We're having a few discussions at work around the naming of our database tables. We're working on a large application with approx 100 database tables (ok, so it isn't that large), most of which can be categorized in to different functional area, and we're trying to work out the best way of naming/organizing these within an Oracle database. The three current options are: Create the different functional areas in separate schemas. Create everything in the same schema but prefix the tables with the functional area Create everything in the same schema with no prefixes We have various pro's and con's around each one but I'd be interested to hear everyone's opinions on what the best solution is.

• How to change VS2010 Add Reference box filter ?

  I'm getting used to the new IDE (it's vc# express), but the first contact is somewhat confusing. When I open the Add Reference dialog and switch to the .NET tab, a label above the assembly list states: "Filtered to:.NET Framework 4". And it's true - I can reference .NET 4.0 assemblies only plus things like XNA 3.1. However I can't see older assemblies i.e. Managed DirectX libs, which are obviously installed on my computer as there was no trouble with adding a ref to them in vc#08. What is this? How to change the filter? The label is read-only. These sound like dull guy's questions, but I'm out of lack of finding an answer and there is no intuitive solution. Thanks in advance.

• .htaccess rewrite rule to add a string in the middle of the URL

  Using a .htaccess rewrite rule, I need to add "?q=" before the path on any URL's containing the word "imagecache" Therefore, if the URL is: http://mysite.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg ...then it will really try: http://mysite.com/?q=sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg But that will ONLY happen if the URL contains "imagecache." Otherwise, it does no rewriting. Also, this will only happen if /sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg isn't already an existing image file. I believe I can do that using: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f ...right? It's just the first part that I can't figure out.

• ODI SDK: Retrieving Information From the Logs

  It is fairly common to want to retrieve data from the ODI logs: statistics, execution status, even the generated code can be retrieved from the logs. The ODI SDK provides a robust set of APIs to parse the repository and retreve such information. To locate the information you are looking for, you have to keep in mind the structure of the logs: sessions contain steps; steps containt tasks. The session is the execution unit: basically, each time you execute something (interface, package, procedure, scenario) you create a new session. The steps are the individual entries found in a session: these will be the icons in your package for instance. Or if you are running an interface, you will have one single step: the interface itself. The tasks will represent the more atomic elements of the steps: the individual DDL, DML, scripts and so forth that are generated by ODI, along with all the detailed statistics for that task. All these details can be retrieved with the SDK. Because I had a question recently on the API ODIStepReport, I focus explicitly in this code on Scenario logs, but a lot more can be done with these APIs. • jquery datatables add checkbox with ajax server side response

  I am using C# ASP .NET MVC and ajax calls. I am able to get the display of the table along with all features. But, I don't understand how do I add a checkbox and button. I have tried dom-checkbox as well but can't get it to work. Any help is appreciated. • How can I add a prefix to a WCF ServiceContract Namespace

  Hi, I'm trying to implement an UPnP MediaServer in WCF. I'm slowly getting there, but now I've hit a brick wall. I need to add a prefix to the ServiceContract namespace. Right now I have the following: [ServiceContract(Namespace = "urn:schemas-upnp-org:service:ContentDirectory:1")] public interface IContentDirectory { [OperationContract(Action = "urn:schemas-upnp-org:service:ContentDirectory:1#Browse")] void Browse(string ObjectID, string BrowseFlag, string Filter, ulong StartingIndex, ulong RequestedCount, string SortCriteria, out string Result, out ulong NumberReturned, out ulong TotalMatches, out ulong UpdateID); } This listens to the correct soap-messages. However, I need the soap-body to begin with <u:Browse xmlns-u="urn:schemas-upnp-org:service:ContentDirectory:1"> and WCF is now listening to: <Browse xmlns="urn:schemas-upnp-org:service:ContentDirectory:1"> How do I get the prefix there? Does it matter? Or is there another reason why the parameters are not passed into the Browse method?

• Add a Contextual Menu to WebView

  An easy one, I think: I want to add a contextual menu to a WebView. In IB, I added a NSMenu to the NIB, connected it to the WebView's menu outlet, launched and expected to be able to control-click in the WebView and see the pop-up menu. The only item I saw on the contextual menu is "reload". I can do the same steps but connect the Menu to some other view and it works as expected. Why doesn't the menu work the same when connect to the webview's menu outlet? Thanks

• How to add icons to a PopUpMenuButton in Flex 3 using an XML file

  Hi, I've been looking at the following example for populating a PupUpMenuButton http://blog.flexexamples.com/2008/02/21/creating-a-custom-label-function-on-a-flex-popupmenubutton-control/ and would like to add icons to each menu. Ideally, I would specify the icon in the xml and assign it in a similar way to using labelFunction for the text. I'm pretty new to Flex and would appreciate some guidance with this. The only information I've found via google is to create a menu as follows (seems I can't include more than one url, but it is an example that creates a menu object using the following function): private function initMenu():void { menu = new Menu(); menu.dataProvider = xmlList; menu.labelField = "@label"; menu.iconField = "@icon"; } but I would really prefer to build it all from the XML file. • OracleXETNSListener won't start

  For some unknown reason OracleXETNSListener won't start which prevents SQL Developer from connecting to it. C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\NETWORK\ADMIN\listener.ora and C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\NETWORK\ADMIN\tnsnames both have correct hostname. • Standard Apache (not OHS) with mod_osso for Single Signon

  The mod_osso.so (the Apache plugin for Single Signon, provided by Oracle) is distributed with the Oracle HTTP Server (OHS), which is essentially a modified Apache. I am trying to use it on the standard Apache HTTP Server, and have not managed to get it to work. Configuration: Apache 2.2.15 OHS from the Oracle Web Tier Tools 11.1.1.2.0 Red Hat Linux 64 bit I have: Included the module in the modules directory (copied from corresponding modules dir in OHS) Included the libraries libiau.so and libclutsh.so.11.1 from Oracle Home. The absence of these libraries produced an error on starting Apache. Produced a osso.conf using the ssoreg.sh tool provided with OID (the LDAP implementation of Oracle) Created the required mod_osso.conf file, which I included in httpd.conf.   I want to add my own session variable to elmah error log table and display it. I already have modified the source code and added the new fields to Error.cs and other fields but I don't know but when I assign an HttpContext.Current.Session["MyVar"].tostring() value to my field in the constructor it stops logging exceptions and does not log any exception. I just need to get the value of the session variable is there other way for this. I read a post which he added fields for the email but it does not say where exactly should I get the session value.

• Outlook 2003 add-in - Getting COM exception on application shutdown after creating WPF window

  Hi! I'm developing an outlook 2003 add-in. Until now I used only winforms to display one form, but today I've added a WPF window for more complex stuff. DUe to the WPF window, a COM exception is being thrown when outlook shuts down. Does anybody know why? I need to start a separate thread for the WPF window in single apartment state. • How to add a Tab Bar to an existing view controller, without XIB

  Hi, I'm trying to avoid using Interface Builder as much as possible. At the moment I have the view controller created via code and change views via code as well. I now need one of the steps to send the app into a new view with a tab bar, that will allow me to change views as well. Ideally, what I'd do is tell the current view controller to add a Tab Bar to the bottom, but I'm not sure if that's doable, so I might have to swap the UIViewController with a UITabBarController? • Actionscript/Flex - Is it possible to dynamically extend an object, modify functions, add functions

  I know this question might be frowned upon, but actionscript is a dynamic language similar to javascript and in javascript I can take an object from a library written by someone else and dynamically (at runtime) add/remove/modify functions, properties, prototypes etc. this is kind of like dynamically extending an object to make it work with the library it came with as well as another library. Is something like this possible in flex actionscript? I'm thinking it is only possible with classes that are declared 'dynamic' and definitely not possible with classes declared 'final'. What are your thoughts? Any ideas/tricks?

Has anyone gotten this, or something similar, working?   I have some pretty straightforward markup: <form action=""> <fieldset class="compact"> <legend>Member Tools</legend> <label for="username">Username</label> <input name="username" id="username" type="text"/> <label for="password">Password</label> <input name="password" id="password" type="password" /> </fieldset> </form> I am attempting to add a small margin to the bottom of the Legend element, this works just fine in Firefox 2 and 3 as well as IE 5-8, however in Safari and Chrome adding a margin does nothing. As far as I know legend is just another block level element and Webkit should have no issue adding a margin to it, or am I incorrect?
