  I have a WCF Service that contains the following method. Mind you, I know what the error message means, but this is my first time trying to call an asynchronous task in a WCF service from a client.   I have my business classes protected by EJB3 security annotations, now I would like to call these methods from a Spring controller, how do I do it? edit I will add some information about my setup, I'm using Tomcat for the webcontainer and OpenEJB for embedding EJB into tomcat. I did not settle on any version of spring so it's more or less open to suggestions. edit current setup works this way : I have a login form + controller that puts a User pojo inside SessionContext. Each time someone access a secured part of the site, the application checks for the User pojo, if it's there check roles and then show the page, if it's not show a appropriate message or redirect to login page.   I'm experimenting with PHP's session_set_save_handler and I'd like to use a PDO connection to store session data. • How do I abort a socket.recv() from another thread in python?

  I have a main thread that waits for connection. It spawns client threads that will echo the response from the client (telnet in this case). But say that I want to close down all sockets and all threads after some time, like after 1 connection. How would I do? If I do clientSocket.close() from the main thread, it won't stop doing the recv. • Symfony 1.2 to 2.3 migration

  I've got a pretty big Symfony 1.2 project to migrate. First, I modified my .htaccess so I can have some pages handled by Symfony 2. What I'd like to do, to make the migration smoother, is to be able to render some SF2 action/templates/methods/... inside SF1. I added the autoloader to the SF1 app, so I can access to twig rendering methods and other stuff. But how can I call a SF2 action ? For example, if I want to migrate only the footer first, I would also need some php methods, not only rendering. That was previously in SF1 component, where should it be now ? If you've got any suggestion about the way of migrating, don't hesitate ! EDIT 1 : Apparently, the only way to do something like that is to render a full twig template, and/or in this template call some other partial twig templates with render(url, params). • problem writing xml to file with .net mvc - timeout?

  Hey, so having an issue with writing out to an xml file. Works fine for single requests via the browser, but when I use something like Charles to perform 5-10 repeated requests concurrently several of them will fail. The trace simply shows a 500 error with no content inside, basically I think they start timing out waiting for write access or something... This method is inside my repository class, have also attempted to have repository instance as a singleton but doesn't appear to make any difference.. Any help would be much appreciated.   I would like to implement an observer pattern in Objective-C where the observer implements an interface similar to SKPaymentTransactionObserver and the observable class just extends my base observable. My observable class looks something like what is below. Notice I'm making copies of the observers before enumeration to avoid throwing an exception . I've tried adding an NSLock around add observers and notify observers, but I run into a deadlock. • Android, how to use DexClassLoader to dynamically replace an Activity or Service

  I am trying to do something similar to this stackoverflow posting. What I want to do is to read the definition of an activity or service from the SD card. To avoid manifest permission issues, I create a shell version of this activity in the .apk, but try to replace it with an activity of the same name residing on the SD card at run time. Unfortunately, I am able to load the activity class definition from the SD card using DexClassLoader, but the original class definition is the one that is executed. Is there a way to specify that the new class definition replaces the old one, or any suggestions on avoiding the manifest permission issues without actually providing the needed activity in the package? • BPEL, initialize variable and repeating onAlarm eventHandler

  I have a little problem I can't solve so far. In BPEL I want to create an onAlarm eventHandler which fires immediatly (i.e. the "for" element is set to 'PT0S') and repeats every 2 seconds. This eventHandler shall contain a counter which increments every time the alarm fires. The question is: How to initialize the counter? If the variable will be initialized within the onAlarm scope the value would not increment anymore. In the "normal" control flow the value also cannot be initialized, because it is not defined if the process or the onAlarm scope runs first. So I would get every now and then an uninitializedVariable exception. My solution would be to not initialize the variable neither in the process scope nor in the onAlarm scope, but create a faultHandler wherein the variable will be initialized and afterwards the onAlarm flow will be executed. Problem is every uninitializedVariable execution will be caught now by this faultHandler and there may be another too. So is there another possibility to deal with this problem or can I somehow find out which variable wasn't initialized properly so the faultHandler can get two control flows? The solution should work on every BPEL engine. Thanks, Michael

• Windows Server TCP Client application in c# Stops working after a while

  I am developping an application in C# Net framework 2.0. It is basicly a service application with a tcp client class. It works for about 20 minutes then stops recieving information from the server. -- Server side Client is still connected and the client side its still connected but stops receiving information from the server. • Why is PHP5 SQLite PDO silently failing on DB connection?

  I have no idea why my code is failing silently. PDO and PDO SQLite are confirmed loaded. Errors are turned on and OTHER errors display. The SQLite file exists. Perms are set correctly. If I change the filename, PHP actually DOES create the file but still fails silently. No output or commands are excecuted after the "$dbh = new PDO($db_conn);" command. I'm not sure what else I can possibly do to troubleshoot. What else... this is on Modwest shared hosting.   At the moment i have managed to separate the left and right channel of a WAVE file and have included the header in a byte[] array. My next step is to be about to play both channels. How can this be done? • xsd.exe creating invalid constraints in dataset from xsd file

  I have a sequence with an allowed minimum length of zero in my xsd. When I try and load an xml file which doesn't have any elements of the sequence into the DataSet that xsd.exe created I get an exception indicating that my file violated one of the DataSet's constraints. The xml file validates against the schema so I know it's valid. Is there anything I can do to make the tool generate a valid dataset? <xs:sequence minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:element name="Numbers" type="xs:double"/> </xs:sequence> Edit: if I change my schema to this the generated code works properly. • Should a connect method return a value?

  I was looking at some code I've inherited and I couldn't decided if I like a bit of code. Basically, there is a method that looks like the following: bool Connect(connection parameters){...} It returns true if it connects successfully, false otherwise. I've written code like that in the past, but now, when I see this method I don't like it for a number of reasons. Its easy to write code that just ignores the returned value, or not realize it returns a value. There is no way to return an error message. Checking the return of the method doesn't really look nice: if (!Connect(...)){....} I could rewrite code to throw an exception when it doesn't successfully connect, but I don't consider that an exceptional situation. Instead I'm thinking of refactoring the code as follows: void Connect(Connection Parameters, out bool successful, out string errorMessage){...} I like that other developers have to provide the success and error strings so they know the method has error conditions and I can know return a message Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?
