  • Odd behaviour with scala method syntax

    - by Ceilingfish
Hi chaps, I hit a bit of a quirk of scala's syntax I don't really understand object Board { def getObjectAt(x:Int, y:Int):Placeable = return locations(x)(y) } works fine. But object Board { def getObjectAt(x:Int, y:Int):Placeable { return locations(x)(y) } } returns the error Board.scala:8: error: illegal start of declaration return locations(x)(y) I found some stuff that says the second form convinces the scala compiler you're trying to specify an expansion to the return type Placeable. Is there a way I can fix this, or should I just avoid specifying a return type here?

  • Format of DataGridView value

    - by Vadim
I have a DataGridView which is filling from Table in SQL Server Database. One of it's columns is "price". Type of column in DGV is automatically sets as Decimal. In some cases I need to write in cells of this column text like "none", instead of price. How can I do it? DGV.Item("price", 0).Value = "none" doesn't work, because of decimal type of a cell.

  • Unable to fetch Json data from remote url

    - by user3772611
I am cracking my head to solve this thing. I am unable to fetch the JSON data from remote REST API. I need to fetch the JSOn data nd display the "html_url" field from the JSON data on my website. I saw that you need the below charset and content type for fetching JSON. <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="application/json"> </head> <body> <p>My Instruments page</p> <ul></ul> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.10.3/jquery-ui.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.0.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { alert("Inside the script"); $.getJSON(" https://pki.zendesk.com/api/v2/help_center/sections/200268985/articles.json", function (obj) { alert("Inside the getJSON"); $.each(obj, function (key, value) { $("ul").append("<li>" + value.html_url + "</li>"); }); }); }); </script> </body> </html> I referred to following example on jsfiddle http://jsfiddle.net/2xTjf/29/ The "http://date.jsontest.com" given in this example also doesn't work in my code. The first alert is pops but not the other one. I am a novice at JSON/ Jquery. i used jsonlint.com to find if it has valid JSON, it came out valid. I tested using chrome REST client too. What am I missing here ? Help me please ! Thanks in anticipation.

  • how to close a child browser in c# or WatiN?

    - by user177060
I want to close the child window which is of "Browser" type. Have a look at the below code. WatiN.Core.Browser openBrowser = BrowserType.getBrowserObject().attachChildBrowser(document_name + Constants.open_document_title); I want to close the "openBrowser". Close()(available in WatiN) can only be used for the type "IE" of "Firefox" only. So, I cant use Close() method also. Is there any method to close the browser in C# or WatiN?

    - by Bernhard V
Hi! When I'm running my program, I get the following error: ... nested exception is javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ejb not bound The error occurs at the start up when Java wants to create a certain bean. The Bean is a SimpleRemoteStatelessSessionProxyFactoryBean. Could it be that I ain't got the rights to access the naming provider URL although I can ping it? When accessing the bean on my local JBoss there are no problems.

  • Is incremental Macro definition possible?

    - by Davorak
I often find the following type of incremental definition useful: (define (foo) (display "bar")) (foo) ;prints bar (define foo (let ((bar foo)) (lambda () (display "foo") (bar)))) (foo) ;prints foobar How do I preform this type of incremental definition with macros? I could not get let-syntax to provide the same functionality. Currently I use plt scheme, but would like to see answers in different lisp implementations as well.

  • Is there a better way to get values out of a table row?

    - by chobo2
    Hi Say I have this <table border="1" id="tbl"> <tr> <td><input type="checkbox" name="vehicle" value="Bike" /></td> <td>row 1, cell 1</td> <td>row 1, cell 2</td> </tr> <tr> <td><input type="checkbox" name="vehicle" value="Bike" /></td> <td>row 2, cell 1</td> <td>row 2, cell 2</td> </tr> </table> Now I want to get the row that is checked, then the cell values of that checked row. So I would do this var cells = $('#tbl :checked').parents('tr').children('td'); So lets assume only one checkbox can be checked(so no jqueyr foreach loop). So now say I wanted to get the 2nd table cells value I would just go var secondCell = $(cells[1]).html(); The thing with this though it makes the code so brittle. Like what if I put another table cell after after the checkbox one? <table border="1" id="tbl"> <tr> <td><input type="checkbox" name="vehicle" value="Bike" /></td> <td> I am new </td> <td>row 1, cell 1</td> <td>row 1, cell 2</td> </tr> <tr> <td><input type="checkbox" name="vehicle" value="Bike" /></td> <td> I am new </td> <td>row 2, cell 1</td> <td>row 2, cell 2</td> </tr> </table> So now I have to go through my code and change this var secondCell = $(cells[1]).html(); to this var thirdCell = $(cells[2]).html(); since now I am actually after the 3rd cell and not the 2nd cell anymore. So is there a better way? Thanks

  • How can I test a windows dll to determine if it is 32bit or 64bit?

    - by morechilli
I'd like to write a test script or program that asserts that all dlls in a given directory are of a particular build type. I would use this as a sanity check at the end of a build process on an sdk to make sure that the 64bit version hasn't somehow got some 32bit dlls in it and vice versa. Is there an easy way to look at a dll file and determine its type? The solution should work on both xp32 and xp64.

  • C# coding standards for private member variables [closed]

    - by Sasha
I saw two common approaches for coding standards for private member variables: class Foo { private int _i; private string _id; } and class Foo { private int m_i; private string m_id; } I believe the latter is coming from C++. Also, many people specify type before the member variable: double m_dVal -- to indicate that is is a nonconstant member variable of the type double? What are the conventions in C#?

  • Keep data with specific value on top when sorting a gridview

    - by aspNetAficionado
Hi i have a gridview with information about documents: name, document type (policy, guidelines, forms, etc), category, etc. I want to sort the gridview alphabetically (name) and by document type, but always having the 'policy' above the other document types when document name is the same. How do I do that? eg If I do sort by DocumentName, DocumentType ('policy' maybe not be the first one in the list) but if I do sort by DocumentType , DocumentName (I would get for example all guidelines first in alphabetical order, then procedures, then policies, etc)
