  • ASP.NET: Enumerating header elements from codebehind

    - by JamesBrownIsDead
    On Page_Load() in the codebehind, I'd like to enumerate all the <link> tags. The purpose being I want want to add a <link> to a CSS file if it isn't specified in the Page's markup. How can I do this? I'm thinking I should be able to use LINQ on the collection of elements in the header, no? Here's my pseudocode: var pageAlreadyContainsCssLink = false; foreach(var control in this.Header.Controls) { if (control.TagName == "link" && control.Attributes["href"] == "my_css_file.css") { pageAlreadyContainsCssLink = true; break; } } if (pageAlreadyContainsCssLink) { // Don't add <link> element return; } // Add the <link> to the CSS this.AddCssLink(...);

  • Huge dataset point in polygon in .net (collision detection)

    - by Rickard Liljeberg
I have a pretty big mesh with polygons, usually triangles but sometimes rectangles. Each point in my mesh has a value (value has nothing to do with coordinates). Now I am creating a second mesh in the same coordinate-space as the old mesh. I now want to interpolate out values for all points (vertices) in the new mesh using the values from the old mesh. Now I could loop each polygon in the new mesh and detect which old vertices are in each polygon by making 2d collision detection (altho even this I don't get to function properly so if anyone has simple and fast code for 2d collision detection (triangle is enough) I would gladly see it). However to my main point again. looping each old vertice for each new polygon seems less than efficient. is there a better way?

  • VB.net Saving an MetaFile / EMF as a bitmap ( .tiff)

    - by pehaada
Currently I have a third party control that generates a Metafile. I can save the .wmf file to disk with out issue. The problem is how do I render the Metafile as a Tiff file. Currently I have the following code to get my metafile and save it. Dim mf As Metafile = page.GetImage(TXTextControl.Page.PageContent.All) Dim enhMetafileHandle As IntPtr = mf.GetHenhmetafile() Dim h As IntPtr Dim bufferSize As UInteger = GetEnhMetaFileBits(enhMetafileHandle, 0, h) Dim buffer(CInt(bufferSize)) As Byte GetEnhMetaFileBits(enhMetafileHandle, bufferSize, buffer) Dim msMetafileStream As New MemoryStream msMetafileStream.Write(buffer, 0, CInt(bufferSize)) Dim baMetafileData() As Byte baMetafileData = msMetafileStream.ToArray Dim g As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(mf) mf.Dispose() File.WriteAllBytes("c:\a.wmf", baMetafileData) end sub _ Public Shared Function GetEnhMetaFileBits( ByVal hEMF As System.IntPtr, ByVal nSize As UInteger, ByVal lpData As IntPtr) As UInteger End Function <System.Runtime.InteropServices.DllImportAttribute("gdi32.dll", EntryPoint:="GetEnhMetaFileBits")> _ Public Shared Function GetEnhMetaFileBits(<System.Runtime.InteropServices.InAttribute()> ByVal hEMF As System.IntPtr, ByVal nSize As UInteger, ByVal lpData() As Byte) As UInteger End Function I've tried all sort of IMAGE and Graphic calls and just can't save the meta file as a .tiff. Any suggestions would be great. I even tried to create a new bitmap and draw the metafile onto it. I always end up with a GDI exception being thrown.

  • ASP.NET EnqityDataSource WhereParameters, creates new property.

    - by Alex
I am trying to populate GridView, using EntityDataSource(code behind), I need to able to sort GridView. However when I sort i get error: A property with name 'aspnet_Users.UserId1' does not exist in metadata for entity type So I beleive it is because I generate where parameter in code behind: ActiveEnqDataSource.WhereParameters.Add(new SessionParameter("aspnet_Users.UserId", TypeCode.Object, "UserName")); Full code is : ActiveEnqDataSource.ConnectionString = db.Connection.ConnectionString; ActiveEnqDataSource.DefaultContainerName = "Entities"; ActiveEnqDataSource.EntitySetName = "Enquiries"; ActiveEnqDataSource.Include = "UserCars.CarModel.CarMake, Category, aspnet_Users"; ActiveEnqDataSource.EnableUpdate = true; ActiveEnqDataSource.EnableInsert = true; ActiveEnqDataSource.EnableDelete = true; ActiveEnqDataSource.AutoGenerateWhereClause = true; ActiveEnqDataSource.WhereParameters.Add(new SessionParameter("aspnet_Users.UserId", TypeCode.Object, "UserName")); Any suggestions? Thank you very much! The gridview itself renders perfectly, only thing I cannot sort it, any "whereParameters" I add, Add 1 to the property e.g UserId1,EnquiryStatus1, ProdauctName1. etc...

We have this bug that only appears 30% of the time for the Release build. Opening the crash dump in WinDbg (snipped "!analyze -v" output): FAULTING_IP: +4 00000000`00000004 ?? ??? Any ideas on how to debug this? I'm sure runTryCode() is really not the problem...but..I'm stuck. Thanks! (I'm really groping here).

  • Use ASP.Net server control code generation from .ashx

    - by Matt Dawdy
I'm trying to take an existing bunch of code that was previously on a full .aspx page, and do the same stuff in a .ashx handler. The code created an HtmlTable object, added rows and cells to those rows, then added that html table the .aspx's controls collection, then added it to a div that was already on the page. I am trying to keep the code in tact but instead of putting the control into a div, actually generate the html and I'll return that in a big chunk of text that can be called via AJAX client-side. HtmlTable errors out when I try to use the InnerHtml property (says it isn't supported), and when I try RenderControl, after making first a TextWriter and next an HtmlTextWriter object, I get the error that Page cannot be null. Has anyone done this before? Any suggestions?

  • Crystal reports .net visual studio 2008 bundled edition

    - by DeveloperChris
I have a serious issue with crystal reports. when run in my development environment or debugged on my local machine it works fine. but when the application is published to a windows server 2003 it has the dreaded "The report you requested requires further information" Message I have had no luck trying to get rid of this message Anybody know what I can try? DC Here is a bunch more info. I use a placeholder in the aspx page and then set the user/password and database in the codebehind I could not get it to work with a dataset and found that I had to assign odbc connection in the cr designer. and then in the code behind change the above details as required. This is done because the same report can get the data from 3 different databases (live development and training) protected override void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { base.Page_Load(sender, e); CrystalReportSource1.ReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath(@"~/Reports/Report5asp.rpt")); CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = ConfigureCrystalReports(CrystalReportSource1.ReportDocument,CrystalReportViewer1); // parameters CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo.Clear(); AddParameter("DIid", _app.Data["DIid"], CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo); AddParameter("EEid", _app.Data["EEid"], CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo); AddParameter("CTid", _app.Data["CTid"], CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo); } public ReportDocument ConfigureCrystalReports(ReportDocument report, CrystalReportViewer viewer) { String _connectionString = _app.ConnectionString(); String dsn = _app.DSN(); SqlConnectionStringBuilder SConn = new SqlConnectionStringBuilder(_connectionString); TableLogOnInfos crtableLogoninfos = new TableLogOnInfos(); TableLogOnInfo crtableLogoninfo = new TableLogOnInfo(); ConnectionInfo crConnectionInfo = new ConnectionInfo(); crConnectionInfo.ServerName = dsn;// SConn.DataSource; crConnectionInfo.DatabaseName = SConn.InitialCatalog; crConnectionInfo.UserID = SConn.UserID; crConnectionInfo.Password = SConn.Password; crConnectionInfo.Type = ConnectionInfoType.SQL; crConnectionInfo.IntegratedSecurity = false; foreach (CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table CrTable in report.Database.Tables) { crtableLogoninfo = CrTable.LogOnInfo; crtableLogoninfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo; CrTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crtableLogoninfo); } return report; } As stated this works fine on my XP machine used for development when deployed on winserver 2003 I get the error DC Some interesting additional information I moved the development to my home machine so I could work on the problem this weekend. So now I am developing debugging and testing on the same machine! In VS2008 I can edit and preview the reports with no problems If I fire up the debugger I can view the reports in the browser with no problems But if I publish the website to another folder on the same machine and fire up IIS and try to browse to a report I get the aforementioned error. All else works as expected. IIS runs under different permissions than VS2008 so perhaps its something to do with that, but I have tried lots of different permissions and cannot get it to run. DC

  • ASP.net getting NT user name returns administrator?

    - by JonH
This doesnt seem to be an issue with windows XP. But I have an end user (my boss!!!) using windows 7 64 bit... In one of our apps we are grabbing the end user user name via: HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name.ToString.Substring (HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name.ToString.IndexOf("\") + 1).ToLower For me it is returning the correct user name for instance "jhermiz". When my boss tries getting into the app, it thinks he is Administrator??? Does anyone know of any alternative or why this might be happening? The reason this is an issue is because I use that user name to pull other information... This is visual studio 2003.

  • C# .NET 4.0 and Generics

    - by Mr Snuffle
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this kind of behaviour is possible in C# 4.0 I have an object hierarchy I'd like to keep strongly typed. Something like this class ItemBase {} class ItemType<T> where T : ItemBase { T Base { get; set; } } class EquipmentBase : ItemBase {} class EquipmentType : ItemType<EquipmentBase> {} What I want to be able to do to have something like this ItemType item = new EquipmentType(); And I want item.Base to return type ItemBase. Basically I want to know if it's smart enough to strongly typed generic to a base class without the strong typing. Benefit of this being I can simply cast an ItemType back to an EquipmentType and get all the strongly typedness again. I may be thinking about this all wrong...

  • Help with Exception Handling in ASP.NET C# Application

    - by Shrewd Demon
hi, yesterday i posted a question regarding the Exception Handling technique, but i did'nt quite get a precise answer, partly because my question must not have been precise. So i will ask it more precisely. There is a method in my BLL for authenticating user. If a user is authenticated it returns me the instance of the User class which i store in the session object for further references. the method looks something like this... public static UsersEnt LoadUserInfo(string email) { SqlDataReader reader = null; UsersEnt user = null; using (ConnectionManager cm = new ConnectionManager()) { SqlParameter[] parameters = new SqlParameter[1]; parameters[0] = new SqlParameter("@Email", email); try { reader = SQLHelper.ExecuteReader(cm.Connection, "sp_LoadUserInfo", parameters); } catch (SqlException ex) { //this gives me a error object } if (reader.Read()) user = new UsersDF(reader); } return user; } now my problem is suppose if the SP does not exist, then it will throw me an error or any other SQLException for that matter. Since this method is being called from my aspx.cs page i want to return some meaning full message as to what could have gone wrong so that the user understands that there was some problem and that he/she should retry logging-in again. but i can't because the method returns an instance of the User class, so how can i return a message instead ?? i hope i made it clear ! thank you.

  • ASP.NET AJAX postback and jQuery

    - by Echilon
I have a Textbox, a LinkButton and a RadioButtonList inside an UpdatePanel. When the button is clicked, the UpdatePanel shows matching items in the radiobuttonlist. This works fine, but I now need to make the same happen OnKeyDown on the TextBox. I'm trying to cancel all AJAX requests in progress but not having much luck. Firstly, on every keypress the UpdatePanel posts back, so only one letter can be changed at a time. Secondly, the textbox loses focus on postback. I need to show the list as normal, but OnKeyDown as well as when the button is pressed. This is what I have (control IDs shortened) $('#textBoxId').live('keydown', function(e) { if((e.keyCode >= 47 && e.keyCode <= 90) || e.keyCode == 13) { Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().abortPostBack(); $('#buttonId').click(); $('#textBoxId').focus(); } }); Thanks for any insight.

  • Why don't the .net 4.0 charting controls work in Visual Studio 2010?

    - by kc
The .net charting controls are advertised as being built into .net 4.0. However, they do not work in Visual Studio 2010 Pro or Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I get the error, System.Web.HttpException: Error executing child request for ChartImg.axd. That sounds like the message from .net 3.5 if charting wasn't set up correctly. But the bottom of the same page says, "Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:4.0.30319; ASP.NET Version:4.0.30319.1" Does anyone know why this doesn't work?

  • How to create resource manager in ASP.NET

    - by Bart
Hello, I would like to create resource manager on my page and use some data stored in my resource files. (default.aspx.resx and default.aspx.en.resx) The code looks like this: System.Resources.ResourceManager myResourceManager = System.Resources.ResourceManager.CreateFileBasedResourceManager("resource", Server.MapPath("App_LocalResources") + Path.DirectorySeparatorChar, null); if (User.Identity.IsAuthenticated) { Welcome.Text = myResourceManager.GetString("LoggedInWelcomeText"); } else { Welcome.Text = myResourceManager.GetString("LoggedOutWelcomeText"); } but when i compile and run it on my local server i get this type of error: Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture (or the neutral culture) on disk. baseName: resource locationInfo: fileName: resource.resources Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. • Setting the value of a radio button with JQuery (ASP.NET MVC)

    - by Mario
I have 2 "lists" of (4) radio buttons {value = "0", "1", "2", "3"} in all lists. The first list needs to drive the second list (which may occur multiple times). So if an option is selected in the first list, the SAME option is selected in the second list. It sounds weird, but it has a purpose. The first list is more of a "select all" type of list, and the second list is an individual selection list(s). I have the value of the "selectall" list via JQuery: $("#selectalllist").change(function() { var str = $('input[name=selectall]:checked').val(); $(".radiolist").attr('checked', str); //This is my thinking }); The current selected value is stored in the str variable, and that is seemingly correct (I used alert to tell me what is stored, and it comes up what I expect). I just need to set the value of the next set of lists. The second line of the code I thought would set the checked value of $(".radiolist") to the stored value, but it ALWAYS set the value to the last entry (value = "3"). I'm wondering if I have the wrong attribute in the .attr('', str) call? Any thoughts?

  • GLOBAL loading inside each single button with Jquery in ajax calls of asp.net mvc

    - by Ricky
I have the following scenario: I have a button\link with a image inside like this: <button type="submit" id="myButton" class="button"><img src="../../Content/images/check.png" id="defaultImage" /> SaveData!!!</button> We are OK here! Now what I need to do is: I want on the click that the image change for a loading element that is previously loaded in the page like this: <img id="loadingImage" src="../../Content/images/loader.gif" style="display: none;" alt="loading"/> And then when the load complete turn back the old button image, I ended with this code: function loader() { var $button = $('#myButton'); if (btnState == '1') { $button.find('img').hide(); $button.prepend($('#loadingImage')); $('#loadingImage').css({ 'display': 'inherit' }); btnState = '0'; } else { $button.find('img').hide(); $button.prepend($('#defaultImage')); $('#defaultImage').show(); btnState = '1'; } } This does the trick for ONE SINGLE button(since I pass its ID in the function) but, when I have for example a grid with a button on each line, I found inviable when managing a screen with many buttons do this for each of then. The main question is: How can I make this method general for all buttons/links on one specific class in the page? The goal is: Click a button, get the image and change it and stop(can be manual). I just don't wanna have to Hook ALL buttons.
