• Can't access shared drive when connecting over VPN

  I can ping all network devices but it doesn't seem that DNS is resolving their hostnames. ipconfig/ all is showing that I am pointing to the correct dns server. I can "ping "dnsname"" and it will resolve but it wont resolve any other names. Split tunnel is set up so outside DNS is resolving fine So one issue might be DNS but I have the IP address of the server share so I figure I could just get to it that way. example: \10.0.0.1\ well I can't get to it that way either and I get "the specified network name is no longer available" I can ping it but I can't open the share.   I set my wordpress permalink structure to /%postname%/ but now when I go to a page other than the home page (for example if I went to somelink.com/about) I lose all javascript references. I think this happens because the links to the js files are no longer right as it is in the imaginary folder "about". • How can I modify objects inside frames with AS3 in a permanent way?

  I have a MovieClip symbol created with flash in a fla file library. There is a textfield in frame one of this movieclip's timeline . There is another frame in the movieclip timeline. There is a custon class definition for this symbol. It is a flipping card in a memory game. I access the textfield by going to frame 2 (gotoAndStop(2)) and setting the textfield's text property ( this.field.text = "hello" ). However if I go to frame 1 and then return to frame 2, the text becomes the original one in the library's symbol. I have to modify the text propery again in a showFace method I've written. Besides, I cannot pass parameters in the constructor because it is a symbol in the library and that would give errors. I find this behaviour of flash extremely weird. Is there a way I can set properties inside frames permanently? Thank you

Would a regular expression be the best way? I don't really want to start including external HTML parsing libraries.

Right now the closest I've gotten to this method is this: private void mysList_SelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { ListBoxItem lbi = (ListBoxItem)myList.SelectedItem; appSettings["name"] = (string)lbi.Content; } But, when clicked I get an InvalidCastException. As I understand it, it's basically due to me trying to convert all four textboxes into a single string (or something like that).   I have a login form for my website. This login form have two text fields, username and password. Currently I am placing labels(username, password) just before textfields. But now I want to removed these two labels and want to show text(username, password) inside textfield. When user focuses on these textfields then texts should be removed and user can enter his desired username and password. I have also noticed that when user open a login form then font color of text(username, password) populated in textfield(username, password) is of diffent color and when user start typing in that field then previous text is removed and new font color is black. • How can I check that the NSPasteboard is updated?

  I'm automating a copy command to place some text on the pasteboard every second or so - unfortunately this is my only way of accessing the text, which is in another application. After copying, I access the pasteboard text and process it. Sometimes, the copy command will be sent when nothing is selected - for example in textEdit, if the cursor is at the end of a line (instead of highlighting some text) and you hit copy, you get a system beep because there is nothing selected to copy. The pasteboard does not update and retains its previous data. I can't think of a creative way to identify when this happens. If I send a copy command and the pasteboard doesn't update, is there any kind of time stamp on the pasteboard I can access that will confirm that something has or hasn't been captured? I was looking at the changeCount, but I'm not sure what that is for exactly, and the documentation didn't help me much - red herring? Any simple and effective ideas gratefully received!

I have started to style things (CSS below) but the ‘Delete’ ‘link’ is still slightly offset in relation to ‘Some text’ (at least in firefox). I would appreciate any help with the css. • SMTP hacked by spammer using base64 encoding to authenticate

  Over the past day we've detected someone from China using our server to send spam email. It's very likely that he's using a weak username/password to access our SMTP server, but the problem is that he appears to be using base64 encoding to prevent us from finding out which account he's using.   I use ResourceManager for UI localization of my WinCE 5 software. I have some resource files with text strings on different languages Resourse.resx Resourse.de-DE.resx Resourse.ru-RU.resx When I want to display UI in English I call: Resourse.Culture = new CultureInfo("en-US"); label1.Text = Resourse.LabelText; in German: Resourse.Culture = new CultureInfo("de-DE"); label1.Text = Resourse.LabelText; in Russian: Resourse.Culture = new CultureInfo("ru-RU"); label1.Text = Resourse.LabelText; but here I get PlatformNotSupportedException. I know that my WinCE does not contain Russian and I cannot modify OS to appened this, so my question is how I can say to ResourceManger to use Resourse.ru-RU.resx when I set Culture = new CultureInfo("ru-RU") ?

  I would be appreciative if someone could explain to me the difference between the following two pieces of code in terms of Visual Studio's Code Metrics rules. Why does the Maintainability Index increase slightly if I don't encapsulate everything within using ( )? Sample 1 (MI score of 71) public static String Sha1(String plainText) { using (SHA1Managed sha1 = new SHA1Managed()) { Byte[] text = Encoding.Unicode.GetBytes(plainText); Byte[] hashBytes = sha1.ComputeHash(text); return Convert.ToBase64String(hashBytes); } } Sample 2 (MI score of 73) public static String Sha1(String plainText) { Byte[] text, hashBytes; using (SHA1Managed sha1 = new SHA1Managed()) { text = Encoding.Unicode.GetBytes(plainText); hashBytes = sha1.ComputeHash(text); } return Convert.ToBase64String(hashBytes); } I understand metrics are meaningless outside of a broader context and understanding, and programmers should exercise discretion. While I could boost the score up to 76 with return Convert.ToBase64String(sha1.ComputeHash(Encoding.Unicode.GetBytes(plainText))), I shouldn't. I would clearly be just playing with numbers and it isn't truly any more readable or maintainable at that point. I am curious though as to what the logic might be behind the increase in this case. It's obviously not line-count.

• Web service not accessible from behind corporates firewalls - how come?

  We run a Saas serving a widget which is embedded in customer websites. The service include static javascript code hosted on amazon S3 and dynamic part hosted on EC2 with Scalr (using scalr name servers). We received some feedback from users behind corporate firewalls that they cant access our service (while they can access the sites including the widget). This does not make sense to me since the service is using normal http calls on port 80 and our URL is quite new without any reason to be banned by firewalls. My questions are: 1. Why is the service is not accessible and what can I do about it? 2. Is it possible that one of the following is blocked by corporate firewalls: Amazon s3, the dynamic IP address provided by amazon, Scalr name servers. Any other possible reasons, way to check them and remedies for this? Thanks!

And as you type with the text search the matching items are selected. If the typed text doesn't match an item then the SelectedColorLevel is set to null. The question is at what point (and how) is it best to create a new custom item that can be set to the SelectedColorLevel when the typed text doesn't match an item. For example I would want to assign a new item to the selected value such as new ColorLevel { Intensity = decimal.Parse(textvalue), IsCustom = true } or using an appropriate converter and databinding to the Text property.

But the text shown as html tag attribute are shown in unicode. I'm positive that on the server side(PHP), both texts are treated in the same way and are encoded in utf-8. Why the text as html tag attribute shown in unicode? ?????????????????????? ??
