  • Erlang, SSH and authorized_keys

    Playing with the ssh and public_key application in Erlang, I've discovered a nice feature. I was trying to connect to my running Erlang SSH daemon by using a rsa key, but the authentication was failing and I was prompted for a password. After some debugging and tracing (and a couple of coffees), I've realized that, for some weird reason, a non valid key for my user was there. The authorized_keys file contained two keys. The wrong one was at some point in the file, while the correct one was appended at the end of the file. Now, the Erlang SSH application, when diffing the provided key with the ones contained in the authorized_keys, it was finding the first entry (completely ignoring the second on - the correct one). Then, it was switching to different authentication mechanism (at first it was trying dsa instead of rsa and then it was prompting for a password). The question is: Is this behavior intended or should the SSH server check for multiple entries for the same user in the *authorized_keys* file? Is this a generic SSH behaviour or it's just specific to the Erlang implementation?

  • Static variables and long running thread on IIS 7.5

    Hello people. Help me solve next problem. I have ASP .NET MVC2 application. I run it on IIS 7.5. In one page user clicks button and handler for this button sends request to server (jquery.ajax). At server action in controller starts new thread (it makes long time import): var thread = new Thread(RefreshCitiesInDatabase); thread.Start(); State of import is available in static variable. New thread changes value of variable in the begin of work. User can check state of import too with the help of this variable, which is used in view. And user sees import's state. When I start this function few minutes everything is okey. On page I see right state of import, quantity of imported records is changed, I see changes in logs. But after few minutes begin troubles. When I refresh page with import state sometimes I see that import is okey but sometimes I see page with default values about import (like application is just started), but after that again I can see page with normal import's state. I tried to attach Visual Studio to IIS process and debug application. But when request comes to controller sometimes static variables have right values and sometimes they have default values (static int has 0, static string has "" etc.). Tell me what I do wrong. May be I must start additional thread in other way? Thanks in advance, Dmitry

    When crawling on webpages I need to be careful as to not make too many requests to the same domain, for example I want to put 1 s between requests. From what I understand it is the time between requests that is important. The Registry could not read in, or write out, or flush, one of the files that contain the system's image of the Registry.     hi there, I have a stored procedure and trying to run "sp_OACreate" but fall over with the following message: Msg 50000, Level 16, State 1, Procedure HTTP_REQUEST, Line 26 sp_OACreate on MSXML2.XMLHttp.4.0 failed That occurs because I am setting a variable to get the return value of sp_OACreate and raise the above error if the return value is not 0. Now, the return value I get is "-6" but i don't know why it is happening? Any help on this would be good to help make this work.

I am new to software development and have designed several Client/Server applications over the last 12 months or so, I am currently working on a project that involves a user logging in to gain access to the application and I am looking at the most efficient and "simple" method of storing the users permissions once logged in to the application which can be used throughout restricting access to certain tabs on the main form. I have created a static class called "User" detailed below: static class User { public static int _userID; public static string _moduleName; public static string _userName; public static object[] UserData(object[] _dataRow) { _userID = (int)_dataRow[0]; _userName = (string)_dataRow[1]; _moduleName = (string)_dataRow[2]; return _moduleName; } } When the user logs in and they have been authenticated, I wish to store the _moduleName objects in memory so I can control which tabs on the main form tab control they can access, for example; if the user has been assigned the following roles in the database: "Sales Ledger", "Purchase Ledger" they can only see the relevant tabs on the form, by way of using a Switch - Case block once the login form is hidden and the main form is instantiated.   • Json HTTP Module stream issue

    Hey, I have an HTTP Module that I use to clean up the JSON returned by my web service (see http://www.codeproject.com/KB/webservices/ASPNET_JSONP.aspx?msg=3400287#xx3400287xx for an example of this.) Basically it relates to calling cross-domain JSON web services from javascript. There is this JsonHttpModule which uses a JsonResponseFilter Stream class to write out the JSON and the overloaded Write method is supposed to wrap the name of the callback function around the JSON, otherwise the JSON errors out as needing a label. However, if the JSON is really long, the Write method in the Stream class is called multiple times, causing the callback function to incorrectly get inserted midway through the JSON. Is there a way in the Stream class to wrap the callback function around the stream at the end or to specify that it write all of the JSON in 1 Write method instead of in chunks??     Hi, I am using Spring security to secure my Java web application which is deployed in tomcat. I found out that it is vulnerable to session fixation attacks because tomcat does not create a new session upon successful log in. On debugging some more, here's what I found. For the following code (which is supposed to create a new session - pl. note, it's just a snippet and not full code): HttpSession session = request.getSession(false); session.invalidate(); session = request.getSession(true); // we now have a new session I thought a new session will be created, but tomcat simply uses the same session that got invalidated and hence the session id does not change. I searched online and found a solution which uses a 'valve' - http://marvinsmutterings.blogspot.com/2010/02/fixing-session-fixation-in-liferay-on.html but could not get it to work because it's looking for a jboss logging class and when I add it to lib, I get a reflection exception and the server doesn't start up. I'm using tomcat 5.5.28. Will be glad to have any pointers. Pl. let me know if you need more details, since I don't want to make this post too long. Sincere thanks!

    I'm trying to combine multiple files in multiple input directories into a single file, for various odd reasons I won't go into. My initial try was to write a 'nul' mapper and reducer that just copied input to output, but that failed. My latest try is: vcm_hadoop lester jar /vcm/home/apps/hadoop/contrib/streaming/hadoop-*-streaming.jar -input /cruncher/201004/08/17/00 -output /lcuffcat9 -mapper /bin/cat -reducer NONE but I end up with multiple output files anyway. Anybody know how I can coax everything into a single output file?

    Hi Im trying to add a app.config file to my dll, but all attempts have failed. According to MusicGenesis in 'Putting configuration information in a DLL' this should not be a problem. So obviously im doing something wrong...     I am using subsonic simplerepo with migrations in dev and it makes things pretty easy but I keep running into issues with my nvarchar columns that have an index. My users table has an index defined on the username column for obvious reasons but each time I start the project subsonic is doing this: ALTER TABLE [Users] ALTER COLUMN Username nvarchar(50); which causes this: The index 'IX_Username' is dependent on column 'Username'.ALTER TABLE ALTER COLUMN Username failed because one or more objects access this column Is there any way around this issue?

  • Grouped UITableView Footer Sometimes Hidden On Quick Scroll

    OK, this one is a puzzler. There is one similar post but it's not similar enough to count, so I'm posting this one. :) I've got a grouped UITableView with a header and footer. The footer includes two UIButton views, side-by-side. Nothing major. Now … there is a toggle button in a UIToolbar at the bottom for more/less info in this table view. So I build my index paths to delete/insert with fade row animation, all the usual ingredients, sandwiched between beginUpdates and endUpdates calls on the UITableView … and this works fine! In also happens that my footer can sometimes be pushed off past the bottom of the display. Here's where it gets weird. If I drag my finger up the display, scrolling the view upward, I should see that footer eventually, right? Well … most of the time I do. BUT, if I flick my finger up, for a faster scroll, the footer is missing. Even if you try to tap in that area - no response. However, if I scroll back down again, just to hide that footer (or rather hide the area where the footer would normally be), and then scroll back up, it's there once again! This only happens when inserting rows. If I delete rows, the footer stays put … unless of course it was already hidden and I didn't perform the aforementioned incantation to get it back. :) I am trying to trace through this, but to no avail. I suppose tracing through scroll operations is a bit of a crazy proposition! Perhaps some creative logging … suggestions, anyone? Or is this a known issue in 3.1 where row insert/deletes are concerned? (I don't recall seeing it until 3.1.)
