  • asp.net multiple textbox validation

    - by Zaps
    Hi, I currently have 3 textbox controls on my page. I also have a required valdiator of each of the textboxes. However I only want the validator for a textbox to fire if there is text in either of the other 2 textboxes. If all 3 textboxes are empty then no validators should fire. Is there any way I can do this in javascript/jquery as I want the user to get the best experience possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    hey all , background - I'm using an activx that allow me to access some information on the client side, By using the activex events and callback i'm updating server side from client. i wrote a user control that register all activex's events so when one of the events occuer there is a callback to the server that handle this event. I need to write some other user controls based on this control so on every callback this user controls will be render on the client side. My question is - what is the best way to make a shared infrastructure that handle this events and render the right content base on user controls? is there any other ways i can use ? thanks!

  • asp.net dropdownlist databind on init causes data loss

    - by user2191496
    On which event or how should I bind data to the dropdownlist to avoid selected value overridden? For some reasons, I can't use "IsPostBack" to bind data only on postback I've tried binding data on page init, it works ok but when postback, the selected value will be overridden (Loss) protected void Page_Init(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.BindData(); } protected void BindData() { //grab the source of dropdownlist }

  • Where can I find the project templates for ASP.NET MVC 1.0?

    - by Jason
    I would like to edit the ASP.NET MVC templates for Visual Studio so that any new action or controller created has a specific piece of code within it by default. For instance, I'd like to replace the generated: public ActionResult MyAction() { return View(); } with a specific coding standard we prefer to use within in my team. eg: public ActionResult About() { try { DoStuff(); return View(); } catch(Exception) { HandleException(); } } I've looked through the filesystem, but I cannot find anything specific that relates to the ASP.NET mvc templates. Anyone know where they are?
