  • Android Extend BaseExpandableListAdapter

    - by Robert Mills
I am trying to extend the BaseExpandableListAdapter, however when once I view the list and I select one of the elements to expand, the order of the list gets reversed. For example, if I have a list with 4 elements and select the 1st element, the order (from top to bottom) is now 4, 3, 2, 1 with the 4th element (now at the top) expanded. If I unexpand the 4th element the order reverts to 1, 2, 3, 4 with no expanded elements. Here is my implementation:`public class SensorExpandableAdapter extends BaseExpandableListAdapter { private static final int FILTER_POSITION = 0; private static final int FUNCTION_POSITION = 1; private static final int NUMBER_OF_CHILDREN = 2; ArrayList mParentGroups; private Context mContext; private LayoutInflater mInflater; public SensorExpandableAdapter(ArrayList<SensorType> parentGroup, Context context) { mParentGroups = parentGroup; mContext = context; mInflater = LayoutInflater.from(mContext); } @Override public Object getChild(int groupPosition, int childPosition) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub if(childPosition == FILTER_POSITION) return "filter"; else return "function"; } @Override public long getChildId(int groupPosition, int childPosition) { return childPosition; } @Override public View getChildView(int groupPosition, int childPosition, boolean isLastChild, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { if(convertView == null) { //do something convertView = (RelativeLayout)mInflater.inflate(R.layout.sensor_row_list_item, parent, false); if(childPosition == FILTER_POSITION) { ((CheckBox)convertView.findViewById(R.id.chkTextAddFilter)).setText("Add Filter"); } else { ((CheckBox)convertView.findViewById(R.id.chkTextAddFilter)).setText("Add Function"); ((CheckBox)convertView.findViewById(R.id.chkTextAddFilter)).setEnabled(false); } } return convertView; } @Override public int getChildrenCount(int groupPosition) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return NUMBER_OF_CHILDREN; } @Override public Object getGroup(int groupPosition) { return mParentGroups.get(groupPosition); } @Override public int getGroupCount() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return mParentGroups.size(); } @Override public long getGroupId(int groupPosition) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return groupPosition; } @Override public View getGroupView(int groupPosition, boolean isExpanded, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { if(convertView == null) { convertView = mInflater.inflate(android.R.layout.simple_expandable_list_item_1, parent, false); TextView tv = ((TextView)convertView.findViewById(android.R.id.text1)); tv.setText(mParentGroups.get(groupPosition).toString()); } return convertView; } @Override public boolean hasStableIds() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return true; } @Override public boolean isChildSelectable(int groupPosition, int childPosition) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return true; } } ` I just need to take a simple ArrayList of my own SensorType class. The children are the same for all classes, just two. Also, how do I go about making the parent in each group LongClickable? I have tried in my ExpandableListActivity with this getExpandableListView().setOnLongClickableListener() ... and on the parent TextView set its OnLongClickableListener but neither works. Any help on either of these is greatly appreciated!

  • Mapping @OneToOne with @Where clause

    - by Gabriel
I am trying to map an entity as following @OneToOne(mappedBy = "localizedLabel") @JoinColumn(insertable = false, updatable = false) @WhereJoinTable(clause = "locale='en_US'") public Localization getEn_US() { return en_US; } I can assure that the data will return only one or null if the not found, but hibernate seems to ignore my @Where clause: ERROR com.eventtouch.bc.business.core.log.LoggingInterceptor - org.hibernate.HibernateException: More than one row with the given identifier was found: 4211, for class: com.eventtouch.bc.business.domain.LocalizedLabel Any ideas on ho to map a @OneToOne relationship with @Where clause? Thanks

  • Necessary rights to be able to add a column with ALTER TABLE ADD column_name

    - by Sorin Comanescu
Hi, Could somebody point out the necessary rights to do something like ALTER TABLE myTable ADD myColumn int NOT NULL CONSTRAINT [Constraint_name] DEFAULT ((0)) ? I assumed grant alter on myTable to [user] was enough but I'm getting the error message The UPDATE permission was denied on the object 'myTable', database 'x', schema 'dbo'. Could UPDATE rights be needed because of the DEFAULT constraint? Thanks.

  • B-trees, databases, sequential inputs, and speed.

    - by IanC
I know from experience that b-trees have awful performance when data is added to them sequentially (regardless of the direction). However, when data is added randomly, best performance is obtained. This is easy to demonstrate with the likes of an RB-Tree. Sequential writes cause a maximum number of tree balances to be performed. I know very few databases use binary trees, but rather used n-order balanced trees. I logically assume they suffer a similar fate to binary trees when it comes to sequential inputs. This sparked my curiosity. If this is so, then one could deduce that writing sequential IDs (such as in IDENTITY(1,1)) would cause multiple re-balances of the tree to occur. I have seen many posts argue against GUIDs as "these will cause random writes". I never use GUIDs, but it struck me that this "bad" point was in fact a good point. So I decided to test it. Here is my code: SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO CREATE TABLE [dbo].[T1]( [ID] [int] NOT NULL CONSTRAINT [T1_1] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ([ID] ASC) ) GO CREATE TABLE [dbo].[T2]( [ID] [uniqueidentifier] NOT NULL CONSTRAINT [T2_1] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ([ID] ASC) ) GO declare @i int, @t1 datetime, @t2 datetime, @t3 datetime, @c char(300) set @t1 = GETDATE() set @i = 1 while @i < 2000 begin insert into T2 values (NEWID(), @c) set @i = @i + 1 end set @t2 = GETDATE() WAITFOR delay '0:0:10' set @t3 = GETDATE() set @i = 1 while @i < 2000 begin insert into T1 values (@i, @c) set @i = @i + 1 end select DATEDIFF(ms, @t1, @t2) AS [Int], DATEDIFF(ms, @t3, getdate()) AS [GUID] drop table T1 drop table T2 Note that I am not subtracting any time for the creation of the GUID nor for the considerably extra size of the row. The results on my machine were as follows: Int: 17,340 ms GUID: 6,746 ms This means that in this test, random inserts of 16 bytes was almost 3 times faster than sequential inserts of 4 bytes. Would anyone like to comment on this? Ps. I get that this isn't a question. It's an invite to discussion, and that is relevant to learning optimum programming.

  • Check for Windsor Container Component Instance

    - by jeffn825
How can I use my Windsor container to check if an instance (not just a component) has been registered? ie. container.ContainsInstance(typeof(MyType)) [EDIT] Another way of writing this might be Kernel.GetAssignableHandlers(typeof(object)) .Where(handler => handler.Service == typeof(MyType) || handler.ComponentModel.Implementation == typeof(MyType)) .Any(handler => handler.***Instance*** != null) Note that the property Instance doesn't exist in the API. Thanks.

I have a thread that sits and reads objects off of an ObjectInputStream: public void run() { try { ois = new ObjectInputStream(clientSocket.getInputStream()); Object o; while ((o = ois.readObject()) != null) { //do something with object } } catch (Exception ex) { //Log exception } } readObject does not throw InterruptedException and as far as I can tell, no exception is thrown when this thread is interrupted. How do I stop this thread?

  • Multiple conditions on select query

    - by stats101
I have a select statement and I wish to calculate the cubic volume based on other values within the table. However I want to check that neither pr.Length_mm or pr.Width_mm or pr.Height_mm are NULL prior. I've looked at CASE statements, however it only seems to evaluate one column at a time. SELECT sa.OrderName, sa.OrderType, pr.Volume_UOM ,pr.Length_mm*pr.Width_mm*pr.Height_mm AS Volume_Cubic ,pr.Length_mm*pr.Width_mm AS Volume_Floor ,pr.Length_mm ,pr.Height_mm ,pr.Width_mm FROM CostToServe_MCB.staging.Sale sa LEFT JOIN staging.Product pr ON sa.ID = pr.ID

  • How do I pass the value of the previous form element into an "onchange" javascript function?

    - by Jen
    Hello, I want to make some UI improvements to a page I am developing. Specifically, I need to add another drop down menu to allow the user to filter results. This is my current code: HTML file: <select name="test_id" onchange="showGrid(this.name, this.value, 'gettestgrid')"> <option selected>Select a test--></option> <option value=1>Test 1</option> <option value=2>Test 2</option> <option value=3>Test 3</option> </select> This is pseudo code for what I want to happen: <select name="test_id"> <option selected>Select a test--></option> <option value=1>Test 1</option> <option value=2>Test 2</option> <option value=3>Test 3</option> </select> <select name="statistics" onchange="showGrid(PREVIOUS.name, PREVIOUS.VALUE, THIS.value)"> <option selected>Select a data display --></option> <option value='gettestgrid'>Show averages by student</option> <option value='gethomeroomgrid'>Show averages by homeroom</option> <option value='getschoolgrid'>Show averages by school</option> </select> How do I access the previous field's name and value? Any help much appreciated, thx! Also, JS function for reference: function showGrid(name, value, phpfile) { xmlhttp=GetXmlHttpObject(); if (xmlhttp==null) { alert ("Browser does not support HTTP Request"); return; } var url=phpfile+".php"; url=url+"?"+name+"="+value; url=url+"&sid="+Math.random(); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=stateChanged; xmlhttp.open("GET",url,true); xmlhttp.send(null); }

  • Nested Usercontrols and ViewState

    - by Bob Smith
I have a UserControlParent that dynamically loads UserControlChild. In the UserControlChild, I store a value using the ViewState object by doing a ViewState["count"] = myCount; On Postbacks, the ViewState returns a null. Is this because the UserControlChild is being loaded dynamically? If it helps, the UserControlParent is loaded dynamically in the ASPX page as well.

  • Sqlite issues with HTC Desire HD

    - by Greg
Recently I have been getting a lot of complaints about the HTC Desire series and it failing while invoking sql statements. I have received reports from users with log snapshots that contain the following. I/Database( 2348): sqlite returned: error code = 8, msg = statement aborts at 1: [pragma journal_mode = WAL;] E/Database( 2348): sqlite3_exec to set journal_mode of /data/data/my.app.package/files/localized_db_en_uk-1.sqlite to WAL failed followed by my app basically burning in flames because the call to open the database results in a serious runtime error that manifests itself as the cursor being left open. There shouldn't be a cursor at this point as we are trying to open it. This only occurs with the HTC Desire HD and Z. My code basically does the following (changed a little to isolate the problem area). SQLiteDatabase db; String dbName; public SQLiteDatabase loadDb(Context context) throws IOException{ //Close any old db handle if (db != null && db.isOpen()) { db.close(); } // The name of the database to use from the bundled assets. String dbAsset = "/asset_dir/"+dbName+".sqlite"; InputStream myInput = context.getAssets().open(dbAsset, Context.MODE_PRIVATE); // Create a file in the app's file directory since sqlite requires a path // Not ideal but we will copy the file out of our bundled assets and open it // it in another location. FileOutputStream myOutput = context.openFileOutput(dbName, Context.MODE_PRIVATE); byte[] buffer = new byte[1024]; int length; while ((length = myInput.read(buffer)) > 0) { myOutput.write(buffer, 0, length); } // Close the streams myOutput.flush(); // Guarantee Write! myOutput.getFD().sync(); myOutput.close(); myInput.close(); // Not grab the newly written file File fileObj = context.getFileStreamPath(dbName); // and open the database return db = SQLiteDatabase.openDatabase(fileObj.getAbsolutePath(), null, SQLiteDatabase.OPEN_READONLY | SQLiteDatabase.NO_LOCALIZED_COLLATORS); } Sadly this phone is only available in the UK and I don't have one in my inventory. I am only getting reports of this type from the HTC Desire series. I don't know what changed as this code has been working without any problem. Is there something I am missing?

  • Why do sockets not die when server dies? Why does a socket die when server is alive?

    - by Roman
I try to play with sockets a bit. For that I wrote very simple "client" and "server" applications. Client: import java.net.*; public class client { public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { InetAddress localhost = InetAddress.getLocalHost(); System.out.println("before"); Socket clientSideSocket = null; try { clientSideSocket = new Socket(localhost,12345,localhost,54321); } catch (ConnectException e) { System.out.println("Connection Refused"); } System.out.println("after"); if (clientSideSocket != null) { clientSideSocket.close(); } } } Server: import java.net.*; public class server { public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { ServerSocket listener = new ServerSocket(12345); while (true) { Socket serverSideSocket = listener.accept(); System.out.println("A client-request is accepted."); } } } And I found a behavior that I cannot explain: I start a server, than I start a client. Connection is successfully established (client stops running and server is running). Then I close the server and start it again in a second. After that I start a client and it writes "Connection Refused". It seems to me that the server "remember" the old connection and does not want to open the second connection twice. But I do not understand how it is possible. Because I killed the previous server and started a new one! I do not start the server immediately after the previous one was killed (I wait like 20 seconds). In this case the server "forget" the socket from the previous server and accepts the request from the client. I start the server and then I start the client. Connection is established (server writes: "A client-request is accepted"). Then I wait a minute and start the client again. And server (which was running the whole time) accept the request again! Why? The server should not accept the request from the same client-IP and client-port but it does!

  • .NET ComboBox Autocomplete failing on slashes

    - by Clyde
The .NET ComboBox autocomplete will not fully autocomplete with the display text contains a slash. It completes only up to the slash, leaving SelectedIndex == -1 and SelectedValue == null. This behavior stupidly persists no matter whether your autocompletesource is set to ListItems rather than FileSystem or URL. Is there any workaround for this that doesn't involve just throwing the ComboBox class away and writing a "MyComboBox" class?
