  • HTML to Text Conversion

    - by JSS
Internet Explorer has an option to save a web page as a text file, with all the tags removed. I need a way to batch process that stuff for a project at work. Or there any command line utilities or libraries that can do the same thing for me? COM-interop with IE(not my first choice!)? It doesn't have to format exactly like IE, just give me plain text.

  • Where to check for heap memory size and its usage statistics etc... in windows?

    - by AKN
Lets say I open some application or process. Did some work with that. Now I closed it. Need to know whether this application caused any memory leak. i.e used up some heap memory and not cleared it properly. Can I get this statistics some how? I'm using Visual Studio (for development) under Windows OS. Even I would be interested in knowing this information for any 3rd party application.

  • How to write to stdin of another app?

    - by blez
I have a module that reads StandartError of a process, all works fine, but I want to do something different. I don't know how redirect stdin like the native way: app1.exe -someargs | app2.exe -someargs Where app2 reads all the stdout of app1 in its stdin.

  • Get number of concurrent users online - ASP.NET

    - by Srikanth
I would like to know the number of users logged into my ASP.NET 2.0 application. Points to be considered: 1) Simplest way would be to use Application or Cache object to have the counts on Session start or end. However this would fail if there is a worker process recycle. Wouldn't it? 2) Should't make a difference whether the session is inproc/state server managed/ or SQL server managed. 3) Should preferably be seamless to a web-farm architecture.

  • CVS branch name from tag name

    - by Jamie
I have a number of modules in CVS with different tags. How would I go about getting the name of the branch these tagged files exist on? I've tried checking out a file from the module using cvs co -r TAG and then doing cvs log but it appears to give me a list of all of the branches that the file exists on, rather than just a single branch name. Also this needs to be an automated process, so I can't use web based tools like viewvc to gather this info.

  • Variable popen calls in C

    - by Bushman
I'm trying to execute MS-DOS DEL commands inside a Win32 C program, and I already know that system and popen can be used for this. However, the problem is that both require string literals (type const char) for the commands, and I need something like the DOS equivalent of dir ~ | grep -P '/\d{7,8}\.exe$/' | rm, which obviously can't use string literals. Is there some other subprocess function in C that allows for char arrays as arguments for process names?

  • PHP GD Allowed memory size exhausted

    - by gurun8
I'm trying to process a directory of JPEG images (roughly 600+, ranging from 50k to 500k) using PHP: GD to resize and save the images but I've hit a bit of a snag quite early in the process. After correctly processing just 3 images (30K, 18K and 231K) I get a Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted PHP Fatal error. I'm cycling through the images and calling the code below: list($w, $h) = getimagesize($src); if ($w > $it->width) { $newwidth = $it->width; $newheight = round(($newwidth * $h) / $w); } elseif ($w > $it->height) { $newheight = $it->height; $newwidth = round(($newheight * $w) / $h); } else { $newwidth = $w; $newheight = $h; } // create resize image $img = imagecreatetruecolor($newwidth, $newheight); $org = imagecreatefromjpeg($src); // Resize imagecopyresized($img, $org, 0, 0, 0, 0, $newwidth, $newheight, $w, $h); imagedestroy($org); imagejpeg($img, $dest); // Free up memory imagedestroy($img); I've tried to free up memory with the imagedestroy function but it doesn't seem to have any affect. The script just keeps consistently choking at the imagecreatefromjpeg line of code. I checked the php.ini and the memory_limit = 16M setting seems like it's holding correctly. But I can't figure out why the memory is filling up. Shouldn't it be releasing the memory back to the garbage collector? I don't really want to increase the memory_limit setting. This seems like a bad workaround that could potentially lead to more issues in the future. FYI: I'm running my script from a command prompt. It shouldn't affect the functionality but might influence your response so I thought I should mention it. Can anyone see if I'm just missing something simple or if there's a design flaw here? You'd think that this would be a pretty straightforward task. Surely this has to be possible, right?

  • problem with jquery sortable of ul with childrens - how to allow li to be sorted only on the same le

    - by Y.G.J
    $(document).ready(function() { $("#test-list").sortable({ items: "> li", handle : '.handle', axis: 'y', opacity: 0.6, update : function () { var order = $('#test-list').sortable('serialize'); $("#info").load("process-sortable.asp?"+order+"&id=catid&order=orderid&table=tblCats"); } }); $("#test-sub").sortable({ containment: "ul", items: "li", handle : '.handle2', axis: 'y', opacity: 0.6, update : function () { var order = $('ul').sortable('serialize'); $("#info").load("process-sortable.asp?"+order+"&id=catid&order=orderid&table=tblCats"); } }); }); <ul id="test-list"> <li id="listItem_10">first<img align="middle" src="Themes/arrow.png" class="handle" /></li> <li id="listItem_8">second<img align="middle" src="Themes/arrow.png" class="handle" /> <ul id="test-sub"> <li id="listItem_4><img align="middle" src="Themes/arrow.png" class="handle2" /></li> <li id="listItem_3"><img align="middle" src="Themes/arrow.png" class="handle2" /></li> <ul id="test-sub"> <li id="listItem_9"><img align="middle" src="Themes/arrow.png" class="handle2" /></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> the problems i have: sorting the main ul is working but not all the time - i will try to fix that my own but if there is a problem with the code here and not the one in proccess-sortable - tell me. moving li in the main ul is ok but the sub or the sub of the sub is having problem - i can drag something from one sub to it's sub or the other way too - i don't want that to happend. i want to be able to drag li and by selecting that one that only this ul group will send to proccess-sortable to be updated - how can i catch the specific ul of li i am draging?

  • Grails web flow: Possible to include the state name in the url?

    - by Kimble
I'm playing around with Google Analytics goals / funnels. I would like to use this to track a checkout process, but the web flow urls are formated in a way that makes this very hard. Would it be possible to change: http://localhost:8080/checkout/checkout?execution=e1s2 .. into something more like this: http://localhost:8080/checkout/checkout/shipping?execution=e1s2 or any thing else that would make them more trackable with Google Analytics?

  • Getting access to a binary response byte-by-byte in classic asp/JScript

    - by user89691
I asked this question a few days ago but it seems to have gone cold fairly quickly. What I want to do is pretty simple and I can't believe someone hasn't figured it out. Solution needs to be JScript classic ASP. I am reading a file from a remote server and I want to process that (binary) file on my server and spit the results back to the client as XML. Here's a simplified version of what I am trying to do. This code runs, or will if the URL is filled in for your site. This test file is readbin.asp. It reads a file called test.bin, and writes the result to a stream. I used a stream because that makes it easier to read the file and parse the contents. Basically I want to: while not end of stream read byte from stream process byte here is readbin.asp: <%@ LANGUAGE = JScript %> <% var url = "http:// (... your URL to the file test.bin goes here...) " ; var xmlhttp = Server.CreateObject ("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP") ; xmlhttp.open ("GET", url, false) ; xmlhttp.send () ; var BinaryInputStream = Server.CreateObject ("ADODB.Stream") ; BinaryInputStream.Type = 1 ; // binary BinaryInputStream.Open ; BinaryInputStream.Write (xmlhttp.responseBody) ; BinaryInputStream.Position = 0 ; Response.Write ("BinaryInputStream.size = " + BinaryInputStream.size + "<br>") ; Response.Write ("BinaryInputStream = " + BinaryInputStream + "<br>") ; var ByteValue = BinaryInputStream.read (1) ; Response.Write ("ByteValue = " + ByteValue + "<br>") ; Response.Write ("typeof (ByteValue) = " + typeof (ByteValue) + "<br>") ; %> My problem is: how do I get ByteValue as a number 0..255? typeof (ByteValue) is "unknown". Ord?? Byte()?? Asc?? Chr??

  • Can you authenticate Facebook Graph entirely from command line with Python?

    - by Sebastian
I'm writing a (tabbed) application for Facebook that requires a background process to run on a server and, periodically, upload images to an album on this application's page. What I'm trying to do is create a script that will: a) authenticate me with the program b) upload an image to a specific album All of this entirely from the command line and completely with the new Graph API. My problem right now is trying to locate the documentation that will allow me to get a token without a pop-up window of sorts. Thoughts?

  • Permanent access token to an app that posts to a fan page - error code:1

    - by Leandro Guedes
I'm following the steps very well described here http://stackoverflow.com/a/18399927/2510225 , but, from my server, I receive the following error: {"error":{"message":"The access token does not belong to application APP-ID","type":"OAuthException","code":1}} I can't figure what I'm doing wrong. Anyone knows if the process to get a permanent access token has changed, or is having the same issue? The access token I'm using in the request is the user access token, which I think is correct.

  • How to read postgresql dump file in Python

    - by xorsyst
I'd like my Python script to read some data out of a postgresql dump file. The Python will be running on a system without postgresql, and needs to process the data in a dump file. It looks fairly straightforward to parse the CREATE TABLE calls to find the column names, then the INSERT INTO rows to build the contents. But I'm sure there would be quite a few gotchas in doing this reliably. Does anyone know of a module which will do this?

  • C check before writing to closed pipe

    - by Gary
Is there an easy way to check if a pipe is closed before writing to it in C? I have a child and parent process, and the parent has a pipe to write to the child. However, if the child closes the pipe and the parent tries to read - I get a broken pipe error. So how can I check to make sure I can write to the pipe, so I can handle it as an error if I can't? Thanks!

  • Posting a download to bitbucket from a shell script

    - by Isaac
I'd like to be able to fully-automate the process of packaging the release of an application (in Xcode) via shell script and I'd like the zip archive that is released to be a download on bitbucket. Is there a way to programmatically make a (zip) file available as a download on bitbucket?

  • Freely-available, well-debugged regular expressions

    - by fsb
I was reading ICU documentation and came across this fine advice: For common tasks like this there are libraries of freely available regular expressions that have been well debugged. It's worth making a quick search before writing a new expression. To which libraries of well-debugged regular expressions do you commonly refer? I'm not much taken with http://regexlib.com where the expressions don't seem all that well debugged. It appears to have no QA process besides user comments and ratings.

  • Choosing a Java IDE for homework assignments

    - by Andrew
Can anyone recommend a light Java IDE that doesn't require you to make new projects each time you want to compile and run a program? I just want to be able to open java files and compile and run them. I have already tried Eclipse and NetBeans but both require you to make a new project each time you want to compile and run a program. Making a new project is fine for large scale projects but for small school assignments this just makes the process more tedious. Thanks

  • Remove Trailing Slash From Batch File Input

    - by Brook
I have a batch file that I want to improve. Instead of requiring a user to provide a folder path without a trailing slash, is there an easy way for me to just remove the last character from the path if there is a slash on the end? :START @echo What folder do you want to process? (Provide a path without a closing backslash) set /p datapath= ::Is string empty? IF X%datapath% == X GOTO:START ::Does string have a trailing slash? IF %datapath:~-1%==\ GOTO:START
