Is it possible to rotate text from a horizontal position to a vertical on a single point without using something like flash? So I would read the same text normally by tilting my head.
I was thinking you can do this in jquery but couldn't find a plug in.
Hi,
I need that when i check a checkbox i apply different background color to HTML table rows according to and ID of a user in database using jquery, and then i uncheck the checkbox go to previous state.
For the record i am not asking for code i am asking for concept.
I want to create a wizard that includes a few steps, that in the final steps
we need to include all the steps and save to the data base.
What is the best design to do this ?
Is there an implementation for jquery ?
Do I need to save the steps in session till the final save ?
I've been fighting with jQuery all night and getting quite frustrated here, so forgive me if the answer was staring me in the face.
I have a grid of 15 images contained within a <div>, and when I click on one of them, I want it to expand to three times its original size of 150x105 and overlap the rest. I've got the expanding down, but the overlapping isn't quite working.
My current HTML:
<div id="image-grid">
<img src="images/after-pictures/1.jpg" class="igc1" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/2.jpg" class="igc2" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/3.jpg" class="igc3" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/4.jpg" class="igc4" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/5.jpg" class="igc5" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/6.jpg" class="igc1" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/7.jpg" class="igc2" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/8.jpg" class="igc3" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/9.jpg" class="igc4" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/10.jpg" class="igc5" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/11.jpg" class="igc1" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/12.jpg" class="igc2" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/13.jpg" class="igc3" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/14.jpg" class="igc4" />
<img src="images/after-pictures/15.jpg" class="igc5" />
</div>
The igc* class denotes the column the image is in.
CSS:
#image-grid {
border: 1px solid #aaa;
width: 745px;
padding: 5px 2px 2px 5px;
}
#image-grid img {
width: 150px;
height: 105px;
margin: -2px;
}
jQuery:
$('#image-grid img').click(function() {
$(this).animate({
width: '450px',
height: '315px',
zIndex: '10'
}, 200);
});
Hi
I've got a link on the web page that causes new browser window (tab) to be opened when it's clicked, like this:
<a id="lnkNewWindow" target="_blank" href="http://google.com">Open window</a>
I want to be able to track the window that will be created after this link is clicked. I'd like to perform some actions after the new window is closed. Is there any way to do this (preferably using jQuery)?
How to give style to list item only if item has another list inside otherwise style should not apply? using css only.
See example here http://jsbin.com/udora
I want to remove arrows from all other items except "Articles" and "Pitching Past the 7th Inning"
I realized it's not possible with css any working jquery solution with demo?
Hello,
I'm wondering about the clever way to do this...
I have methods that return a value when passed an an object as parameter, such as:
<%= average_rainfall(@location) %
I'd like to use the exact same methods as a nested resource to call via jQuery/Ajax, like so:
.load('/location/8/average_rainfall')
I understand how to define the route, but how do I tell my method to 'find' /location/8 and use that as it's parameter instead of @location as expected?
Thanks!
Is there a way to prevent the user from selecting a file that is not a specified file type when they browser for the file on their computer? For example, when a user browseses to upload an image file I would for them to only see images (jpg, png, ect.) that are less than 20mb. Is this something that can be accomplished with asp.net mvc and jquery or do I need to use flash or a java applet?
I have a element which contains 3 child. let says
<div class="parent">
<div class="firstChild">firstChild</div>
SecondChild
<ul><li>thrid child</li></ul>
</div>
In the example I need to select first 2 childs and not the UL. how to do through jquery.
Total JacaScript n00b question right here:
I've made this snippet that clicks a link after 10th second:
function timeout() {
window.setTimeout(function() {
$('img.left').click();
}, 1000);
setTimeout("timeout()", 1000);
}
timeout();
My question is, how do I execute this function every 10th second, instead of just once?
Is this the best way to do this, or is there some kind of nifty jQuery method that you prefer?
Using Javascript, Jquery preferably, I want to be able to trigger the visiblity of the div when a user is at a certain page height. NYtimes has an example of this when you scroll to the bottom of a story, a slider pops out with another news story, and goes away if you scroll up.
I'd like to use css pseudo-selectors ( parent > child, element:first-child ) in my stylesheet but IE6 doesn't seem to recognize those. Is there any plugin (jQuery preferably) that would allow me to use pseudo-selectors freely without worrying about the damned IE6?
Thanks
Hi,
with jquery, or with simple just javascript, I want to populate a 2nd dropdown from the choice of the first dropdown.
The value of the first dropdown is the condition to get rows for the second dropdown.
How does the onChange event look like?
After reading the comments on this site:
http://www.webresourcesdepot.com/jwysiwyg-jquery-inline-content-editor-plugin/
There is a bit of consensus that jWYSIWYG editor is too buggy (especially in the last few recent comments). Has anyone had experience with it in a large production site?
I haven't run a huge sample of markup through it yet, but so far it has seemed to do the job fine.
have an array of values [1,2,4] representing the values of a multi-select box, how do i set them as selected using either jquery or plain javascript?
thanks for your help.
Given a method..
public ActionResult Method()
{
// program logic
if(condition)
{
// external library
// external library returns an ActionResult
}
return View(viewname);
}
I cannot control the return type or method of the external library. I want to catch its results and handle that in a dialog on the page - but I cannot figure out how to get back to the page to execute the jQuery that would be responsible for it. Any ideas?
Not sure if you can do this, but I want to select the first of two classes of an element with jQuery and return it's first class only.
<div class="module blue">
I want to return 'module'.
tried this:
var state = $('body').attr('class').first();
but none of that seems to work, thanks for any advice.
I have a gridview and for client side sorting i am using the Jquery tablesorter plugin. Now i want the header and footer of the grid to be fixed and the rows to be scrolled.
Can anybody help me out?
Thanks in advance...

Is there any way of creating a combo box (<select>) with a size of 1? All the examples I can find allow for multiple selects but with a number of options visible at any one time. If this cannot be accomplished with bog standard HTML is it possible in a JS library such as JQuery?
I'm keen to test out html offline storage and caching with a view to developing a prototype to show off the offline web application capabilities of html5.
I've found some webkit-specific samples, but I'm battling to find any decent code samples that even work at all in Firefox 3.6
For a sample, I'd be happy with something that works with the following:
Our company uses jquery extensively so I'd prefer samples that use that library or pure javascript.
It should at least work on firefox (3.6+ is fine)
Can anyone point me to some links that provide some guidance and code samples?
I'm using expandable plugin by Brandon Aaron to auto grow my textareas in the form and it is working ok.
the problem is that I'm loading a lot of pages through ajax so I need to rebind the plugin method to the textareas loaded through ajax.
is there a way to do this kind of method calls like
$("textarea").expandable();
through live() or delegate() in jQuery. it'll make my code much cleaner.
Hi folks,
this might be quite simple, but I must say I'm a bit confused on this topic.
I'm writing code based on two popular libraries:
jQuery
underscore.js
I am just wondering what would be the best way to isolate the code and prevent conflicts and how to merge it with its dependencies.
By merging I mean putting them within the same file. :)
I hope I'm not asking something which is too basic.
...and a last thing
